The little prince is going to grow up with some issues because of his own dad, and I don't understand why the author insisted on this character setup for ML - crazy unreasonable until the end even when he has recovered. It only brought down the mood of an otherwise complete ending.

This was a good story, not exceptional but good and most importantly the translation was good.

Five stars! ML for all his awful behaviour toward his own kid is very considerate. One of the best in Chinese novels I've ever read. To share his power with MC and to train him to govern the state - that was really decent of him.

The translator did a marvelous job.

There's nothing good other than how doting the ML to MC. It seems pointless to punish the people for crime they didn't even commit yet. And it's disturbing how ML treat the kid and MC dot on ML for that like it's normal. Two is most likely too much to give

For most of the time MC only cares about the baby, but ML still cared for him, that's cute and sad, but MC accepts his feelings later on

I've been making a lot of comparisons lately or maybe I'm just fishing from the same ol' pool of tags lol but this novel reminded me of The Male Wife... except slightly better?

Spoiler
    • Reincarnated shou who came back to execute some face slapping and changes? Check.
    • Possibly reincarnated unwell gong? Check.
I'm convinced the ML is reincarnated as well because of his one line of "You've returned as well."

no one can convince me otherwise!!!!! except maybe if the future plot reveals he isn't lol

    • Has a child but what is childcare? (based on other reviews) Check.

The one big thing I like is that this time, the couple both make efforts to get closer to one another albeit MC started off on ulterior motives for survival, and ML is just very sticky and possessive and cray cray. MC is still a soft shou but with more backbone after seeing the truth after his death and reincarnating. He's got more smarts and paired with the coddling of ML, he's bright and beautiful lol though definitely not OP. He's still very dependent to, and powerless against, his 2nd life very strong and sticky gong.

ML is legit disturbed with his outbursts of rage (from poison) that can only be quelled by his Song'er--why is it only him? true love of course! though seriously why?? it doesn't make sense especially in the previous life. Anyway, ML respects MC, waits for his consent/initiative and doesn't push it so that's a gold for human decency in novels! He genuinely cares for MC without being a d*ck about it.

The interactions between MC and ML are adorable and quite amusing. Their banter is fun to read! The dog food I've eaten from their closed door interactions has relieved me of my mortal hunger and I now only feed on digital dog food. Them double-teaming against Madam Song/their enemies and delivering terrifying dogfood in the faces of horrified officials is also pretty great lol

Face hurts and stomach hurts (from too much dogfood)

Overall at this point, this novel is a fun and light read. We've got tragic backstory, faceslapping and payback plots and lots of closed door fluff, PLUS amazing translations--what's not to like??

This novel is so good, the story is good, especially the characters. The seme is very respectful towards the uke and even the uke is reincarnated, he's not overly powered unlike others.

I really like the relationship between the princes because they don't kill each other to get the throne, they were teached to protect each other. I rarely seen this to other novels.

I loved the story Overall and the interactions bet MC and ML. :) I also loved their child. (^v^)It's just.. I'm quite disappointed at the ending. I know that ML is obsessed with MC and I accept that but the neglect of their child because of that obsession and craziness of ML is.. unacceptable to me. *sigh*
Spoiler

and I wanted to know, did Li Yang die in the end?

P.s. thanks for translator-san for translating and sharing this story... And thanks to the author for creating this. :)

Hey heyyy heyyy this is a must good read!!

Song Song was reinncarnated on his supposed wedding day and plans to revenge those who wronged him. ML's kinda awkward at the start since he did not know how to convey his feelings but he shows it in pampering MC and people was like shookt whats happening? See spoiler (about lil past)

Spoiler

They met when they're young, MC helped ML when he's having a hard time of the poison on his body, He just know that the one who helped him name was Song Song. Thought the child was killed cause of him but later he know that the savior still alive and will be wedded to him. MC already in ML's heart

[collapse]

MC was clever for me. He will not back down this time like giving face slaps to his half brothers/family so on. At first he is on guard to ML but gradually falls in love with him. There are Ninja onions on some part so be prepared!!! Especially when the past was unfold and showed how the ML lived his life after the MC death. So read it!!! This time it is happy ending for both of them. Villains got what they deserved hmpf. <<less

A mix of fluff and revenge. The MC and ML are a bit typical. The MC can be devious when needed but is normally cute and kind. The ML is OP but poisoned. ML has bouts of insanity due to the poison. Both are reborn.I felt pity for their kid. The MC's family drama was cliche. An absolutely pleasant surprise was the royal family. The emperor has a father-son relationship with the princes. There is no in-fighting for the throne. They are like a real, loving family. Kudos to the... more>> author for this setting. I would have liked to know more about the crown prince.

The best thing about the story is that its short and hence fast-paced. Side characters are not fleshed out and a couple of villains never appear "on-screen". Overall, a story about romance with revenge woven in.

The translator has done a great job. <<less

Wheeeeeeehe that was the smoothest character progression I've read in a while... later parts also manage to surprise. It's like Fei Pin Ying Qiang with a minor fantasy element. I'm full with satisfaction!!!! So glad I decided to read this... I was running out of good danmei to read!

The way author writes show that s/he had some understanding about mental illness.

Spoiler

For ML it's hard to control his violent impulses even when he's aware. But he never assaults MC. It's like wanting to smash your annoying brother's head with a plate, but you don't actually do it because you don't want to hurt him? ML can't turn off the switch once it's on. ML can control his bouts of crazy only with his feelings for MC. Maybe if his mom is still alive she can help ML too. Though a bit unrealistic, I love this plot device.

I was surprised ML was not getting cured over time. Only his self control is getting better, he's still a mentally ill patient until end of series. Maybe because he doesn't think normally, 1) he keeps not talking about their rebirth-thing to Song Song. 2) he's so flippant about calling himself emperor in his crazy spell. 3) he talks like he's a bit dazed sometimes, fixating on one thing and overthinking. 4) he even gets jealous over his own son.

ML also has a wrapped sense of most things. Rationally he knows that MC loves him but can't convince himself that MC who never lost his calm loves him like he loves MC. ML will always follow up by explaining patiently what sort of relationship he wants to have with MC, multiple times, explicitly.

At the start Song's reluctant to misuse his favor. And ML doesn't say outright that he knows what happened in last life (1) so MC treats ML courteously at first. Then, he slowly becomes more spoiled and relaxed with ML, it's cute hehe

[collapse]

MC's revenge is not bloody but he certainly doesn't go easy on his enemies. Supporting characters have differences that matter to the story development. Their actions are justified by their position and personality. After rebirth they still act with original motivations! Just what I enjoy from rebirth novel!

Author didn't have to write it, but it's nice that why they're both reborn is also explained. It's easily a unique plot point of this novel. The addition is a bit abrupt though, made me want to drop stars to 4.8. Omitting ML's direct POV most of the time and especially during first chapters is really nice to me because Song Song is allowed to naturally grow affection and I can infer from context about ML's thought process. It also avoids author writing ML in a not-so-crazy way in his POV and making him OOC. <<less

I really liked the story, full of a doting and sticky ML that brings the warmth and the fuzzies most of the time.
This is a re-do/fix it kind of story, where all the bad things that happened and what the characters suffered before, change for the better and they are rewarded. I love those kinds of stories.

Okay so I'm here because of the tyrant snatch the cannon fodder, another novel which infinite (hanji) translated. (Preparing myself to read at mtl: good luck my brain) There's nothing much to say for this novel. I'm actually satisfied about their characters and how it ends. Song Song got his revenge with ML (the empereor), got his emperor and his little prince. (Alive and kicking) Happy ending~ ♥

First off, thank you dear Translator. If it weren't for your diligence and hard work, I would have to brave mrl for this. Yes, this story is that good. But you can appreciate better because it is a completely translated work.

Second, I like both the MC and ML. They are real people with flaws and all but that's what made them even better.

Third, their counterattack is very satisfying. I like that they talked things about their past memories and openly discus them.

Lastly, the plot was carried on with ease and... more>> the ending was not rushed. It actually even made readers to wish for more chapters. For a historical setting with a good plot to play on, the chapters were linited to only 80 chapters which is quite rare. <<less

Loved this story!

If you like lighthearted bl stories then this one is for you.

It's a double rebirth story so both ML and MC know what happened in the past although they treat it as a dream also no manic obsession on revenge and excessive face slapping.

The novel mostly focuses on them and plot buildingiis minimal but its super fluffy. It's short so you can read it in one go.

I have read it all to the end even he extra and en ought it was a good story I was still disappointed with the ending as with many of these novels. I mean I get that it's about our MC and ML but he didn't have to do he child that in the end. It was disappointing to see just how much he played the kid. So I enenjoyed it until the end where my mood got so low where it felt like I was reading an angst novel.... more>> Disappointing parents. But that's just probably me. Overall everything else was okay. I liked that they got revenge and satisfied that part and all just the ending with the child was annoying and makes me question how could a father even compete with their child for affection and wonder what's wrong with many of these father ML in novels to treat he children like that. I mean I know he loves him but gosh man and his relationship with his brother. Poor thing. It's not s bad as I make everything out to be though. Very fun read.

Very well translated though. Many thanks to the translators. <<less

Give this a try! It's a good one and it's completely translated!

There is fluff, there is sweetness and there is lots of feel good revenge against the scums.

The translator has done a fabulous job, and her notes are also very helpful!

Since both MC and ML have reincarnated they are dedicated to each other and there is no major misunderstandings. They just both know what they want, and spoil each other rotten. They are both each other's salvation on a way.

This is all fluff. There wasn't much character development, the story was pretty straightforward too. But the way the writer told the story was really nice. It's very chill. The translator too, did a good job. One of best translations I've read.

Normally, I hate it when there are no character developments in the story. But I really like them as they are. The characters are so real, even their pettiness and how their character is set on stone, and can't be changed, was awesome.

It was so funny when the ML wanted to see the MC angry. He touched the MC's bottom line when he pretended to not be able to speak and hear due to shock. The MC was so mad he kicked out the ML and refused to talk to him and made him sleep on chairs instead of the bed. It was so funny because it was totally the ML's fault. Then the ML realized that he likes the docile MC more because he would suffer so much if the MC gets mad again. Lol.

Chic story! I fell in love!
Only the reader is very uncomfortable. The fact is that I am not a native speaker and I read novels using the Google Chrome auto-translation. But he does not translate the. Doc and. Pdf, and as a result each time he has to manually drive the chapters into pieces.
As a result, the more you like the work, the more difficult it is to break away from reading excitedly at new copies and pastes.
By the way, the comment was written with the help of a translator, so I apologize for the grammar!
