Trash of the Count’s Family

When I opened my eyes, I was inside a novel.

[The Birth of a Hero].

[The Birth of a Hero] was a novel focused on the adventures of the main character, Choi Han, a high school boy who was transported to a different dimension from Earth, along with the birth of the numerous heroes of the continent.

I became a part of that novel as the tr*sh of the Count’s family, the family that oversaw the territory where the first village that Choi Han visits is located.

The problem is that Choi Han becomes twisted after that village, and everyone in it, is destroyed by assassins.

The bigger problem is the fact that this s*upid tr*sh who I’ve become doesn’t know about what happened in the village and messes with Choi Han, only to get beaten to a pulp.

“…This is going to be a headache.”

I feel like something serious has happened to me.

But it was worth trying to make this my new life.

Love it!

It's a good fantasy novel that surprised me several times already;
One thing though. If you expect a lot of action from the very beginning you'll get disappointed!
It goes at a slower peace with the first over 100 chapters being the foundation where MC builds up his connections with others. There is not much fighting at this point of the story, only about one 'battle'.
There are more much later into the story.

The MC is more of a commander type so don't be surprised that he's not running around with a sword or awesome magic since the very beginning of every fight.
He does get involved in the battles only in the moments where his power specifically is needed. (Which is usually at least once per battle)
And even though it may seem like he's always safe and sound on the sidelines, or that noting much happens to him then wait a bit and you'll see that's not true in the least (Especially around chapter 256), he has his own share of pain.

You might think that his relationship with his comrades/friends/family is kind of fake at the very beginning, since he got involved with some of them for the sake of making things easier for himself, but the deeper you go into the story, and the better you understand MC's personality, the more you realize that it's not the case at all.
Especially after several flashbacks on his past.

Honestly there were several times where I got quite bored, but that was usually only because I was waiting for the continuation of some kind of development, but had to wait until MC deals with the things at hand.
For example: He got some important news while he was away, and we have to wait until he's done with his current business, to learn more when he returns.

I also like that there are no romantic developments so far; There is a sh*t ton of novels where the MC either has a harem or a lover, but here the story is completely focused on the MC and his comrades doing their best to achieve their goals.

To sum it all up; It's a very interesting novel that will surprise you many times as long as you have the patience to read. (Don't worry, nothing is as slow, and stretched as the Chinese martial arts novels, so you can try reading one beforehand and this will probably seem like a short story in comparison) ;)

It has its flaws and inconsistencies but hey, it's a web novel. I come for entertainment and not for deep and profound insight on things. I have my nonfiction and classical novels for that.

I thoroughly enjoyed reading it. It's a feel good novel which you can read on your break and not worry too much about the happenings as the plot is pretty obvious and there're hardly any twists. It's your typical wish-fulfillment novel where hardly anything stumped the MC. Everything seems to be served on a silver platter: OP... more>> powers, comrades, subordinates, etc. It's a novel with a linear formula. The world building is pretty good though.

I gave a 4* for the enjoyment and the misunderstandings/reactions in this novel lmao. <<less

Pros:

-lots of creativity and depth in plot development

-well written and translated, it's great to read

... more>> -good character development for MC and certain important supporting characters

-the humor in this reminds you not to take this too seriously and forgive how Gary Stu the MC is

Cons:

-really, the MC is quite the gary stu

-if you're looking for romance, there's no whiff of it at all, so much so it makes me question whether MC was transmigrated with those male functions intact

-I'd say the 'good character development' for characters other than MC amounts to just... 1 other character. It's not to say characterisation is bad, the other characters feel real enough, it's more like, the MC/author keeps them at arm's length distance in terms of relationship. <<less

Its half good and half weird.

The novel is repeating sh*t like night and day cicle. It keeps doing the same things over over again ... more>>
Spoiler

From the beginning he saves someone. Then he gains a power. After that he saves some again and gains new f*cking power. The same thing is being repeated till now.

[collapse]
I don't if its the writer or the translator, there some uses of some bloody catch phrases repeatedly. It is f%&king annoying. I freaking hate the MC for some of his f$&king quirks. Just like I hate the MC of my another favorite korean novel "The Novel's Extra". Yes its one of my favorite korean novel.

If you like center of "attention" type novel (which is almost every asian novel is like), It is your cup of tea. But this one is bland

If you are wondering why the 4stars.

Cause I enjoyed the all hail MC thing in the first place a lot. But I hate that lazy bastard. <<less
