Cheng Duo struggled in the apocalypse for ten years, only to be betrayed by the person he considered family. After transmigrating one day, he grew cold-hearted and became a hunter, seeking a peaceful life. But when wild boars came down from the mountains, the village men came to find him… Well, the fields on the mountainside belonged to him, so he could kill the wild boars for meat. When the village kids were about to be taken away, the village chief came to him for help… Fine, those kids saved his life once and helped him set up a vegetable garden. The food they cooked was quite delicious.

Later on… He inexplicably became the pillar of the whole village, a fierce and intimidating figure.

Ads are too aggressive. As soon as I close them new ones pop up. It’s aggravating and near impossible to read. So while the translation seems well done, I’m a chapter or two in and have to switch to mtl.

I’ll come back and edit once I’ve read the story. Seems good so far.

I really thought that our MC would forever become a hunter as stated in the title lolXD I seldom read a novel with MC as seme protagonist but this is one good.

This is not focused on farming nor business expanding since the MC has no knowledge of these, rather more on slice of life and the plot revolving the ML's past/family etc.

I like the story. It's not lengthy and not dragging. Though I sometimes wonder what happened to the cannon fodders after everything is settled, it still... more>> okay bc the author write a description on their lives that let the readers conclude their end. <<less

It was Very Very Good!!!

Sure there was some frustrating part, mostly because the villain is annoying but easily defeated thank goodness. But also in the beginning MC's 'white lie' was frustrating me so bad!!! I get his reason... I UNDERSTAND!!! But still frustrating.

But I definitely would never expect how things revealed was because certain situations. It was an Intense situation but blessings in disguise I guess?

Love the ML too! He's neither too shy nor weak hearted. He's brave and tough on his own without being Physical Strong! I LOVE HIM!!!

Also love how the author wrote the Uncle Li too. He's somewhat Neutral and helpful and kind and can see clearly to help MC and ML out of annoying situation. Love it!!!

Love ML's father too. I'm still in the chapters where ML's background not fully revealed sadly. So I wonder if the author would make it clear...

Pray so hard the rest of the story would give us Satisfactory!!! 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏 Because so far I LOVE IT SO MUCH!!!

I didn't expect the journey lead them such High Position. I expect everything but That!

Story is decent, but extremely simple. Not much hunting going around at all tbh. Villains are all handled quickly, and tbh the most cunning one was probably the wolves. Some bits and pieces of the story made absolutely no sense to include, like the mystery tomb of treasures, and the space ability, it was all just thrown in to help the MC prosper. I dunno if the title is correct or not, maybe we should call it Transmigrated in Ancient Times as an Hunter, a General, and an Emperor.

Initially it was very good, and because the MC is a gong he gets a strength buff and not a great space that can accommodate the living creatures. He started from scratch, to have a good life with ML. F*ck, I just don't like that part. The author doesn't seem to know how busy an emperor's life is, how much time MC could have spent with ML and his child which was wasted just because of the selfish desires of ML and his father.

This is my first review. But I couldn't resist because the story is really very good! I love the MC. The translation is really very well done and easy to understand. There's not much bad blood and our MC is pretty OP. But maybe that's just my feeling. I like that he doesn't let himself be intimidated in this strange environment. I can't say much about the romance between the two. Progress is pretty slow. But that's not necessarily a bad thing. I'm excited to see how it goes and... more>> how everything develops. I haven't faced an issue of aggressive adds as said by the previous reviewer. Whenever I read on my phone it has 1 popup add but its very easy to close that and when I use a bigger screen like tablet or laptop its more easier to read.

Moving onto the story, it is quite captivating. I am always a sucker for ancient transmigration so this book was right up my alley.

The translation is well done, MC and ML don't have any major misuderstandings and the minor things just seem cute.

There... more>> was one point in the story that had me at my seat's corner but fortunately the author didn't stretch the cliff that long and we got our happy result. Though the story doesn't have early romance as they are not officially together, it is still not considered late romance. It has got the enough dog food for us to chew... <<less

3.5, good beginning, aimless ending. Wish fullfillment, slice of life, light court intrigue.

MC- he is OP, everything is handed to him on a silver platter. His powers from the zombie apocalypse cross over with him, making him physically OP. I like these kinds of MC so I'm okay with it.

ML- independent to begin with, clingy and forgettable later on. I liked him okay.

Their relationship is sweet, like cavity inducing sweet, I loved it. The MC is possessive, but not overly so. The ML is shy to begin with, but takes... more>> the initiative and grows. I really felt like their relationship was more balanced than most ger stories.

The story in the beginning until about 3/4 was pretty good. It's all about the ML and MC connecting, going through some trials, a bit of the typical ancient face slapping, and some slice of life money making.

I started to get bored with the slice of life aspect around chapter 75 and wanted something to happen, but I didn't like the treason/war/time skips. The last 1/4 of the book seemed to be aimless and felt like the author had only a vague idea, but didn't really know what to do. The first time skip was abrupt and took most of the chapter to show that there was one. I really could have done without the last quarter of the novel, but I'm not a fan of war/emporer plots.

Really didn't understand why he would be okay with being emporer. He spent 10 years struggling in the apocalypse and only wanted a simple life. I really didn't like the ending.

The side characters where okay, not very fleshed out and some forgotten. The villains in the beginning are the typical shameless extended family members. In the last part the villains are not even 1 dimensional, they are basically non-existent.

The side couples were cute. The first one is the merchant and his ger and their lack of communication. Their story is really superficial, but I like happy endings (I assume it's happy, they are kind of forgotten about in the capital/emporer part)

The other side couple was okay. Again happy that there is a happy ending, but felts very rushed and forced.

I'm really sad the main couple only had the 1 kid. I was really hoping for a ger too. I mean they want to do reforms for ger/women, but don't have one of their own to lead by example?!

I did love how it was the "mom" that was jealous of the kids relationship with MC, not annoyingly so, just cute family teasing.

To the reader who give this novel a one star rating WITHOUT even bothering to finish the story - don't rate the novel. Don't be spiteful for attention and move along and read something you like TILL THE END. Seriously, this story doesn't deserve such low rating. Is it the best danmei novel I've read? No but it has its charm and it's enjoyable. The characters are likable and even the face slapping isn't too inhumane but actually tolerable. It start to get political in the middle of the plot... more>> but it's not too deep or dragged out. MC and ML relationship is natural and progress wonderfully. They help support each other and it's such a healthy relationship. The other side characters are also good and fleshed out so you get to know about their love struggle. I would ignore the low rating and give this danmei a shot <<less

Everything I hoped it would be. Similar to The Only Favorite Ugly Husband but without the disappointment and creepiness. Ending was a bit rushed, but tied up everything. Lots of really good character growth.

overall it is very good ancient time novel and it is worth 5 stars, but what I don't like about it,

is how they forced the MC to become the Emperor in the end and he more than once said he just wants a peaceful life. I know it is unrealistic for him to be just hunter since the ML family is a military family, but still it is too forceful at the end. He was helpless that I feel uncomfortable

This novel is a pretty good read, and it's something that I would recommend to Others. There’s nothing overly dramatic about it. It’s a lot of fluff, so if you like fluff, this is good for you.

The only problem I have with the noble is the hosting website. There are too many pop-ups on it, and the website prevents you from using a pop-up blocker, so you have to turn off your pop-up blocker even to enjoy the story itself, which I think is a bit too forceful.

Very typical rag to riches kinda story. Its very short. So it’s a good quick read. With all the usual plots. Even though it’s cliche, cus like this kind of story, its a good pass time read. Even there’s drama, there’s not too heavy. And mostly alot of fluff. ML and MC is likeable plots also ok. Tq

This novel is a light read and easy to digest.

A bit of a slowburn in terms of the coupling but not that slow.

There were a bit of chapters that felt drawn out but I like it over all.

Give it a shot to know yourself.

Great novel to binge if you love the genre of an MC transmigrating into a historical setting, especially if there is a ger/bio gender existing. This is NOT marriage before love, author writes the MC, and their love interest cultivating feelings. Some use of modern knowledge, and the military tag.

Overall translation was okay, good in some parts, not great in others. I did not enjoy the translator using MTL for "ger" (CN ge'r) as "brother, " which caused tons of headache in the novel. Also translator missed some pronouns (eg. The General Wei's "wife" was a ger and male, not female, this pronoun switch from MTL wasn't caught in later chapters making it confusing who the novel was referring to).

In fact, it probably took like 60 chapters for me to realize that "Feng Ge" and "Li Changfeng" are the same person, so capitalizing that "Ge" when it really means "one who is a ger" screws up the translation a lot.

It's similar to the "shi" used to denote "maiden name of one who is married." I'm not against translators keeping the term, but for examle "Li-shi"and "Wang-shi" makes a ton more sense than "Li Shi" and "Wang Shi" because the latter sounds like "Shi" is their name (it's not).

Applying the same concept to "ger, " we would have a much greater clarity if the translation formatted it as "Feng-ge" and "Yong-ge" etc. To denote the gers. And there's no reason to translate "ger" as "little brother." They are not the same concept. <<less

I am taking away stars because of ML, he is do irritating hard headed he don't learn, he just continue with his disgusting pedantic believes like even the side characters learn but he is still that idiot, he is still selfish and rude. At first I was just a little miffed by him trying to control MC's diet and how he uses his money but I thought like ok he is from a backward village and he will understand but he don't even the side characters do (like I said... more>> before) , and like even when the story develop theres many instances where he still shows his backwardness and at that point you can no longer use it as an excuse, you will believe his mindset will change but it doesn't, he is rude to his father like I get being distance but like being aggressive like MC, like ok dude you don't even know anything, your adoptive father didn't say anything he was just guessing, he just thinks and makes up all the storyline in his own head and even at later parts...... I don't like his mentality it becomes childish and annoying I had hoped he would develop but no..... <<less

Ngnl if author not skip the part that need to elaborate and write more that 109 chapter I think this novel ratings definitely 4.4 or more, I personally don't care if they play a big game, as long as they have chips to play big, author actually have those but fail to manage it, idk why they don't write about that interesting parts, I really like MC and ML they sweet and support each other, I can enjoy the story despite that time skip and pacing that kind of rush... more>> in the middle, so I can give 4.1 as my personal rating. <<less

I would say this is a 6/10 For me I liked certain nuances that kept it from being a bad novel to me 'cause there were a lot of plot holes people forgotten and some things that didn't make sense that pissed me off.

Like when he brought a gun from his space that was **** s*upid realistically everyone be asking for that weapon and to keep using that weapon and create more drama but he used it in one chapter and was never brought up again and he'd didn't even asked for secrecy so that was s*upid the brothers I never saw their ending after the multiple time skips

I think the thing I like best was the equality of gender and respect for one's partner. its hard to see that in other novels specifically in the genre cause it seems like a lot of these Asian authors are very sexist even when it's supposed to be A BL..... so I enjoyed that aspect way better than other novels and there was some progressism leading to a new era of equality for the sexes.

I feel like this novel would have done better if it was longer so each arc could have more details, because it felt like all over the place and chaotic. But not the initial arc of them getting together cause it taking longer than 40 chapters usually starts to piss me off oh well I rather see people being together and facing challenges as a couple not taking forever just to get together from misunderstandings and whatnot.

Overall the Title IS VERY MISLEADING! I was hoping to dive more into what a hunter is and some details about this profession but we only got Ten chapters and then he started doing God knows what else that I was just whiplashed at each turn I swear he had like six professions,

{ I would enjoy that in a book if it was done well if it transitioned better cause I feel like it was just used as a plot device to gain connections, So it just bored me honestly}
