Li Fenglan, the number one person in the world of cultivation and an immortalization stage immortal, fell into qi deviation. He was spurned by thousands of people for doing evil things, split the Underworld River with a single sword, and had the whole cultivation world unify to beat him until his soul scattered. Only after his death did he realize that he was the villain in the novel.

Li Fenglan: This immortal has a swear word he doesn’t know…..

He never thought that a thousand years later, Li Fenglan would be revived inexplicably, and become a disfigured cannon fodder with all his spiritual roots crippled.

Then he discovered that something was wrong with the plot—

The Soul Condensation Tower in the forbidden area of the Immortal Gate was established for him;

His Master who has resided in the upper realms for a long time, stands guard at his tomb in the lower realms

The main character who once used one sword to shake his heart spirit unexpectedly stole his corpse;

The distinguished reckless music cultivator good friend changed to cultivate the ruthless dao just to guard a trace of a remnant soul;

The Demon Master who was both good and evil was at odds with the cultivation world;

The unruly disciple used dead branches as hairpins, and from then on he only thought of one person.

It turned out that the whole cultivation world wanted to revive him.

Li Fenglan: I’ve received your kind regards, now you can get lost. Smile.jpg

I do understand why some people rate it low but personally I enjoyed the novel and the translation was done very well.

This novel has many twists and turns and by many I mean alot. It makes you think and try to figure out alot of the plot.

The MC is someone who was being conspired against and basically lost his life and was revived, though he doesn't look for revenge, he more or less can't be bothered. Sort of like let begone be begone.

The ML is someone I suspected to be... more>> at the beginning of the story since he seems the most logical one amist all the other potential ml.

All in all, though if you looking for a novel full of romance, this ain't it as the only romance parts are like the last few chapters but the plot and story itself is interesting. <<less

I really enjoyed reading this. I read and mtled this in like three days, and it was pretty easy to understand. It isn't really long - only 100 chapters - and the ending was a bit rushed, but seeing the backstory and plot twists unfold made me unable to put my phone down. I also thoroughly enjoyed seeing the "love interests" suffer from their actions for hurting MC, who I adore dearly.

Li Fenglan (Li Fuyue) is the MC of the story, and the #1 cultivator in the world. In his... more>> first life the whole cultivation world teamed up against him to kill him and destroy his soul because he became crazy. Everyone he knew and trusted either betrayed him or abandoned him in his time of need, and to top it all off, he finds out that he was just a minor villain in a book. And when he gets reborn in his second life, he encounters all the people he was entangled with in the past (basically his harem) and it gets pretty obvious they're all. Like deeply obsessed with him. Li Fenglan didn't realize that even after his death a thousand years ago his shidi, his shizun, his friend, and the others who turned their back on him still haven't moved on. Li Fenglan then tries to find out why he became crazy, the suspicious events surrounding his death, and how he was reborn. As the story progresses, we get to see Li Fenglan's past as more characters appeared and how he became who he is. The plot twists were so good and new things just kept popping up that made me rethink everything I knew. The ML was also really fun to figure out, and out of every other male love interest (there's like 6), I fully believe he was the best choice and was so happy when I suspected that he would be end game. MC and ML were really made for each other... They were so cute lol.

Anyway I really liked it. It's not groundbreaking or anything too complex, but it's an enjoyable read in your free time. This novel's plot revolves around MC, and all the members in his harem are somehow involved with it. The romance between the ML and MC doesn't really get focused on until the later part of the novel, but the build up was nice. The mystery around the ML was also interesting to read and figure out. For people who like mysteries, power couples, and beautiful MC's who unintentionally makes everyone fall for them, this is for you. <<less

To be clear, this is a rebirth but not going back to the past but 1000+ years after MC died. (Take note that this is cultivation world so a millennium is actually not that much for them.)

It's not just the potential ML but the whole cultivation world has a misunderstanding about the MC! So I was frustratingly passionately reading with a vengeful heart as the story unfolds the mystery of MC's death a thousand year ago. The potential gongs did slowly realize that something is sus but only now... more>> at the time MC was reborn. I like that real ML is part of the mystery too. That "mystery solving" tag is for real LOL. If you are an impatient person I am not sure if you will appreciate the slow pace of plot unraveling tho. But for it's trope this story is pretty nice. Just that there's too few raters that the usual troll raters got ahead but this should be at least 4 or above. It has decent xianxia plot, the romance and action is quite balanced. In the beginning it's fun to guess which gong he would end with as it's also part of the mystery. The romance is pretty sweet especially when it was revealed...
Spoiler

how much ML worked hard to save MC despite all odds. Which is a strong contrast compared to the other potential gongs that did their grovellings too late. I love how his name was cleared in the end and his sacrifices were made known as it should. But to their credit, the other gong did not pursue MC anymore as they are all self aware of what they failed to do and cannot do.

[collapse]
Both characters had character growth. Misunderstood MCs having their fame back and name justified is one of my favourite trope so I'm pretty satisfied in the end. <<less

- I read this during or around November, and this was one of the novels I read despite a lower rating and I AM SO GLAD I TRUSTED MY INSTINCTS TO READ THIS. I rarely write reviews but I want to make sure people don't miss out on this because of ratings that don't do the novel enough justice!

You would definitely love this novel if you enjoy:

    • Everyone who hurt the MC suffers retribution
    • Many potential MLs with one winning at the end ~ a win that's satisfying and beautiful
    • An ML who deserves the MC, understands the MC, and is devoted to the MC
    • A smart MC who doesn't accept the people who have done unforgivable things to them / not a foolish MC
    • Lovely development and reliance from the MC (a broken heart that mends itself with time)
    • Wholesome interactions between the MC and ML, a relationship of trust
    • HE, 1v1 Leaves you satisfied but wishing for more!
My honest opinion:

This is probably the best false harem (I think is the term? Where there's a bunch of potential MLs and in the end the MC only ends up with one of them) I've ever read and it's raised my standards a LOT. I find myself looking for a development between an MC and their ML like this in other novels

I absolutely love their development and how the MC learns to rely on others (he's gone through so much and he deserves to be loved and to love, and by "others" I mean the ML). I also like how despite the rough things the other potential MLs have gone through (including the retribution), they in the end respect the MC's decision (FINALLY) and distance themselves from him so he can be happy with the ML. They're not overly persistent after the MC makes a more fine-line near the end (they keep trying in the beginning because they don't know the MC's identity, which is understandable).

Again, as mentioned by another reviewer, it's not too focused on cultivation but more on the MC's relationship with the potential MLs, their attempts to get the MC back, and the trust/development between him and the ML. There is nothing too serious in and of itself (the fight scenes are meh, the misunderstandings aren't too overbearing either) and is a great read if you're just trying to see the MC learn to love and be loved by the right person (no matter how obvious the ML stands out, it's all about how wholesome their affections are, and I think that is underrated in so many novels).

This was the first novel I read by this author, and I eventually read their other works and grew to love them too; their MCs always hit me softly in the heart!

It was a good read if you have a soft spot for rebirth / misunderstandings / crematorium style xianxia novel. However, it really dragged a lot.

And the final romance was a bit too vanilla... there was not really a spark.

Many of the mysteries or reveals in the story were pretty obvious... and although the final villain was very shocking, it was also kind of weird or anticlimactic. There were a lot of other possibilities that the author could have picked instead that might have made more sense or had more... more>> impact in the end.

The translation was okay. A few mistakes and double-negatives, but overall xianxia is annoying to translate so I appreciate. I think [The Whole World is my Crematorium] is better written than this one

Spoiler

but it was nice that this one the disciple didn't have romantic thoughts for his master, so that was just a platonic relationship.

I really love how the plot finally came together and how much fore shadowing there was! Although the backstory of MC's sword made me predict the ML's identity, it was still lovely seeing their relationship develop. For those of you curious about the ML, don't worry he's the best of the best. Have no worries as there isn't much angst, but more of solving th e mystery and character development. As for some of the others mentioned in the summary, here's a spoiler for those who're worried.

Spoiler

Senior brother: no relationship in future, finds out MC identity late, qi deviation

Apprentice: rebellious child, he didn't do anything bad to MC, first to figure out MC identity and he still has a relationship with MC

Master: wanted to save MC for selfish reasons and failed, MC breaks off relationship

Music cultivator friend: betrayed MC when MC went to him for help, loses his cultivation and has no relationship

Other friend: wanted MC to die if he can't be with him, he dies

Demon lord: foolish love interest who wanted to save MC but was late, his sister ends up friends with MC, dad doesn't let him approach MC out of respect

This was a good story. The MC was quite a level headed guy. Also the story doesn't feel frustratingly long it's quite well written.

About the ML

Spoiler

The protagonist and MC junior brother : pe*vert no. 1. Apparantly he was raised by the MC ever since he was a baby. So the MC was creeped out when he confessed his feelings for him

MC friend : BASTARD !! He's a yandere

MC master : he was an ok-ok guy. MC only respects him

MC disciple : this guy is not a ML candidate, he does not hold romantic feelings towards the MC. But he respects and admires MC as his master

Demon lord : ok, this guy was actually pretty cute, unfortunately he doesn't get the chance.

The ML is not mentioned in the summary but I say he was the best ML for our MC

Honestly, I don't really like writing a review. But, after I saw the review of less than 4 star, I was like "what the-?" This can't do, especially on this book.

This review came from someone who MTL read this from the second half of the book till the end (cause I'm such a curious person and I can't hold back my curiosity) and then decides to reread it again cause this book is not so heavy and I need some warm up to came back after not reading danmeis for... more>> who knows how long.

Anyways, back to my review. This is a really easy read. I really like how the plot goes. How the MC slowly opens up his heart after all those sh*ts he went through in his past life. Most of the potential MLs are just selfish pricks that just wants to take MC as their own in the name of love. But hold on, the ML? HE'S THE BEST MAN FOR THE MC. He's always on MC's side. I like how their relationship develop, it's just so... How do I put it, natural maybe? (Just read it guys, you'll understand). And to the other potential ML

Spoiler

haha, grovel in regret you sh*ts (except for the disciple and the demon Lord, and maybe the master too, I really like how MC end their relationship)

[collapse]

This book is not that heavy read, just maybe to me, at least. Bonus point is for our baby beast and baby bird, I love their bickering and them always fighting for MC's attention. That's really cute as I have soft spot for animals. I'm not gonna spoil who the ML was, as the other reviewer says, he's not on the description:), so read it to guess who the ML is, even though it could be obvious once you read it through.

Anyways, Thank You for Lazy Girl Translation for bringing this book to me, I usually don't reread novels but thanks to your translation, I decided to reread again. Please write comments on their translation too guys, I really like reading other's comments and review, it feels so dry when I saw this book's empty comment section.

Thank you for reading this useless review too. Have a nice day to you guys~

Love,

Pros:

I like how realistic MC is. After the 1st life, he's sus of those around him. Love the ending for him.

The face slapping is the mild type. More like 'I don't care about any of u anymore n our relationship ends here'.

... more>> The world building is interesting. The plot twist is good. ML is extremely op (kinda justified cus ML is the son of heaven)

Cons:

The romance is kinda lacking. We got some love interest (MC's teacher, younger martial brother, prince of demons, 1 music cultuvator n 1 puppet master n MC's 2nd life teacher). The romance is just abrupt n unnatural. MC would suddenly thinks 'master is cute'... Wait y would I think that (cue face blushing)

It's a nice read for 100 chaps <<less

(SPOILERS AHEAD)

This is a good novel for killing some time if you are into cultivation and romance but it's GREAT if you are into mystery

As you may infer from above it's not centered around "Cultivation" or "Romance", if I had to rank then it's a mystery novel then a romance novel and then Cultivation novel.

MC is a Gary Su who people or yandere people to be specific are attracted to. Honestly, I don't really understand or agree/like his character of being hiding when facing his emotions regarding his... more>> past "enemies". You can say he's soft hearted to a fault, I'm not saying he's a White Lotus but I am saying that he's a coward. Author tried to justify it with "his loving with his master for 300 years all alone" all that but people change constantly, whether in a good or bad way. He had more than a 1000 years. Even when he fell into Qi Deviation, judging by his character of "relying and trusting his master" he could have contacted him and told him the anamoly but for some weird reason he didn't. Even when he died, he didn't hurt a single person despite falling into Qi Deviation but somehow the whole of the cultivation world never mentioned it, not even a 1000 years later which I find ridiculous. You're telling me nobody got suspicious that the Number 1 Powerhouse fell into Qi Deviation and didn't hurt a single Soul despite being relentlessly chased for years?

The Plot was good on the mystery side, I was fairly satisfied with romance as well. Cultivation was a huge let down tho.

Author has absolutely no sense of how a cultivation world works, from the start to end even the cultivation realms were not described, they were just randomly added like "He was already a Nascent Soul" "He already reached Immortalization Stage" etc. There's literally just 5 or 6 random cultivation realms mentioned.

Another thing which actually pissed me off is that Author would randomly nerf or empower characters.

You're telling me that ML got serious injuries to stabilize a barrier but he was nonchalant when he dealing with an ancient Divine beast? You're telling me that MC, as a Peak immortalization stage cultivator, the highest Realm one could reach is tired and drained of spiritual energy after Fighting a few phantoms?

Even the 3 Realms weren't described. The author kept mentioning "the news spread throughout the Three Realms but what 3 realms? Mortal, Demon and what? I have guessed that it's either "mortal, immortal, demon" or "mortal, Demon, underworld" but underworld is not even mentioned a single time despite an underworld river existing. Note that Upper World is a "World" not Realm.

I liked the duo of MC and ML. It was a really slow burn, another genre I dislike but there relationship was kinda cute so no complaints there.

Btw this was the first time I have ever liked a side character more than the main characters. MC's Disciple is too precious I swear 😭🤌

Overall,

Mystery 8/10

Romance 6/10

Cultivation 3/10 <<less

The novel is a good one. The story of ML helping MC and in turn he redeemed himself. MC is not too goody shoes and decisive in cutting the cause and effect of past lives. Every character is 3 dimensional and we can see distinct emotions of why something happened and what are their thought process. Every cause and effect is explained clearly and does not a cliff hanger.

Enjoyable process. Not too angst that will affect your emotions to cry like a baby but it will influence you subtly. I... more>> like how the author does not beautify the shortcomings of the MC's master, junior brother and his friend. <<less

Sigh... Okay peeps, here is the tldr version: This was the most lukewarm thing I've ever read.

And here is the "it's 3am, I've just finished reading it and I'm so disappointed" version:

This story might feature epic events and characters who are supposedly over a thousand years old, but their behaviors don't reflect the epic nature or wisdom you'd expect from cultivators of such an age. Honestly, I’ve developed an aversion—or even a phobia—toward the “supposedly-uber-powerful, yet acting like a newborn fawn” archetype thanks to novels like this. Based on the... more>> description, I was expecting a story about a MC’s quest for revenge after living over 1000 years, but while reading, the only thing I felt was... well, to be honest, I would have felt more excitement watching paint dry.

Now, let’s talk about the plot. It’s not the most illogical, plot-hole-ridden story I’ve read, but focus, my god, focus was a major issue. The fact that important details—like the MC’s actions before reincarnation and during his qi-deviation—are brushed over in a single sentence near the end is incredibly disappointing. On top of that, when things go wrong, suddenly the plot shifts in the MC's favor, and it’s all explained away in a ridiculously simple, almost childlike manner (plot armor much?). Then, the same plot-armored moves are repeated by the ML over and over. And oh, don’t even get me started on the ML, who is supposedly insanely powerful but continuously shows weaknesses that don’t fit his character at all.

But honestly, the most disappointing part was the romantic subplot. After all the negatives, I was hoping to find something that would at least warm my heart, but alas... Initially, the subtle signs of affection between the characters felt sweet and natural, to the point where I was even willing to overlook the illogical aspect of thousand-something-year-old cultivators who’ve never kissed anyone before, blushing and biting their lips over a mere hand touch. But by the end, their romance escalated so ridiculously fast—from blushing to “let’s become dao companions”—that I honestly thought I’d skipped a few chapters. <<less

I like it. Good. Not too much cultivation. Quite a lot of plot. Some fluff/romance at the end. No smut/snusnu sadly.

If you come here from Male Yandere tag, note that

the male yandere isn't the male lead. Male lead is very gentle and kind and possessive which I like but the male yandere is just a side character.

After reading this I have to say this is hands down one of my favourite novels, the characters, the flow and most of all the development of the relationships throughout the story give a very nice feeling and are easy to follow, also, if you like to indulge in binge reading this novel is definitely for you as you don't have to turn back to previous chapters to understand what is really going on.

As said by other readers if you want a fast paced romance novel I wouldn't recommend this... more>> since the romance part, in regards to the MC and ML, comes very late in the story and I would say is not really the main topic of the story, although love (or the conception of said love that some characters have) is the drive force behind at least half of the plot points. <<less

Just wow, people may think it's slow paced but I really really am enjoying it so far. MC's thoughts are just too entertaining, and I love his character, it feels very 3D. Haven't discovered who the ML is yet but I have an idea and damn I'm already pining for their romance^^. If you guys like the perfect recipe of plot+ characters+ hidden romance. You should try this. this is one of the best cultivation novel i've read, even though it's only 100 chapters but I think it's enough to explain the whole thing. It would be perfect if it doesn't have too many repetition about the same thing in many chapters.

I can't help to write review even before I finished this just to say that I really like how well the story shift from present time to flashback (and there are a lot of flashbacks) and how the characters contribute to the plot of the story; for example I didn't know Person A would appear then until he appeared and I realized how fitting it was for him to appear then! (And then we go on to story and flashback related to person A)

Maybe it's not as important as... more>> the content of the story, but I greatly admired this author's writing skill in those two aspects. <<less

I went into the novel pretty much blind. It's a prety fun casual ride, but I lost almost all interest when my suspcions about who the ML were pretty much confirmed true.

There's a harem, but it's not hard to notice who the ML probably is. Personally I'm not a fan of this kind of ML and the romance felt a bit sudden and weird.

Spoiler

I was rooting for the yandere shidi, I thought he was cute, even if I knew he had 0 chance for obvious reasons.

But I think most annoyingly is that the actual ML was just kinda bland for the most part. He was also s*upidly OP and kinda plot convenient. It was fine as long he wasn't ML, kinda funny even. But when it was pretty clear he's ML, it turned the flavour quite sour.

[collapse]

The plot is mostly okay, not too hard to guess twists, but that's why its a good casual read, imo.

I think it's probably an enjoyable read if you like the main CP.

Spoiler

Still, the main CP being as bland as it is doesn't make it worth a read. Honestly the only reason I'm writing this review is because I felt so disappointed by the novel lol

Especially when contrasted with the more insane (and frankly exciting) male leads.

Alas, it can't be helped.
