The epitome of ML to MC: "you're s*upid, I like that in a man." The MC's denseness borders on aggravating but because the ML is so patient it ends up being funny and cute most of the time. It's a fluffy story, the ending made me smile despite usually disliking mpreg stories. It's worth reading, just keep in mind that it's more of a crackfic most of the time.

There's only one correction I would like to make; which is this novel is filled with Fish Food, NOT Dog Food lmao< (￣︶￣) ↗✨✨✨

Other than that, it got what I came for; fluff with plot holes (◍•ᴗ•◍) ✧*。Not every story needs 189 lvl IQ plots to be enjoyed.

A fluffy slice-of-life-ish novel. Humorous, MC is a fish, then pretends to be a fish demon.

System has no reason for existing, not explained in the end.

Drags a bit long in the later half, had to skim a lot.

Women weren't super demonized, thankfully, MC cared somewhat about equality.

ML goes to the modern world in the last chapter; they bring a lot of modern ideas and conveniences back.

A cute and lighthearted novel! The MC is a bit muddleheaded at times but that what makes him cuter! Also shoutout to the translator who updates so fast like how do you even do that??? And uses the third person self-adress "fish"! It makes everything cuter!!!

There are plenty of fluff here! There's court politic, it's not skipped but it's not mentioned too in detail as well so you don't feel like matters are being way too glazed over nor too complicated that it doesn't match the tone of the story.... more>> The protagonist's "halo" is real but it's presented in a way that doesn't make you feel annoyed, you probably even like it.

This story is quite light but it still presents you with some amazing twists to keep your interest piqued! Recommend!

Also the fish babies are to die for!!! <<less

One of my most Favourite Book!

I love love love this book. Its written incredibly well, the plot is well paced and translation is amazing. The MC's POV and how he refers himself to as "fish" just cracks me up. I tend not to read historical novels because of the palace drama but in this novel there is not much drama and its very mild. Its more focused on the fluff and sweet story of the couple. I was pretty shocked by the final BOSS, I had not expected that at... more>> all.

The Couple's love story is written well and this has to be on the my top 3 list of best couples. They are very understanding and very sweet. There is no unnecessary misunderstanding and Jing Wang doing everything to reassure his little fish that he loves him and the MC realizing that he too likes the ML and promptly taking action. Loved the overall flow of how their relationship progressed.

If you are into fluffiness this may be your cup of tea. The MC is an adorable dumb dumb, sometimes you are going to laugh sometimes you'll just wanna shake his head off. The ML is a wife con, no angst here just love and dog food.

Absolutely adorable!

The little baos are verry cute and their interaction are adorable. I usually don't really vare about the kids of the protags but they are way to adorable to ignore. The baos are not too extremely intelligent like all those other kids in our neighbouring novels, they are smart, but still retain baby's foolishness.

Little baos away, the story line are fluffy, the dramas are not too heavy, the plot advancement are not too fast. Overall, if you want to read something more fluffy with just enough plot and drama,... more>> this novel is the right one for you. Some interactions and scenes are funny with a little tiny bit of secondhand embarrassment. <<less

This was a very cute and fluffy read.

This was my first time reading about about a fish MC haha. Even though there are some unrealistic parts like how a fish tail can coil around a finger, it shouldn't be a problem while reading, except you expect logic in this novel. The system itself is already illogical. The MC is a very cute and silly person, but not a annoying kind of silly, it is just right. The ML at first appears as a cold and aloof type of person but... more>> later you can see how cute he actually is and it gets even better when they get together with their children hehe

I also have to add that the ML isnt excessive jealous of his kids for getting more attention from MC and also doesnt think that his kids need a beating for tiring out our MC like other novels about wife s*aves that find their kid mostly an eyesore and you can rarely see their concern for them. You can see MLs love for his baby fish even before they hatched from their eggs. Clearly a plus point for me.

The inner thoughts of the MC also always puts a smile on my face and the ML sometimes get tsundere and is jealous when fish MC wags his tail and looks at other people for too long which is quite funnyly written.

The palace "drama" is also written quite well. Even though you can't really call them schemes, because it is quite simple, it is still barely enough not to be called brainless.

But what really surprised me is the emperor. He and the ML actually have a good relationship, even though people try to destroy it, master fish comes to the rescue! It is so thrilling when fish MC rescues the situation and counterattacks.

For me it's 5 stars. It was a very good and relaxing read that has re-read potential. The MTL version is also easy to understand, if there are still readers that are impatient and want to read the whole thing in one go. <<less

A cute and comedy story, Very well written. We read too much about the protagonist becoming pet/animal. But what's good is that this MC turn FISH with almost no way to communicate to people. Plus the ML is mute (but tbh I really wonder how he could use his eyes to communicate with people.)

This novel has the right fluff and right flow of the story. I get hook every chapter, the translation is easy to read. I hope to see more chapters. I also like the ML although he drinking vinegar sometimes it's only on the right side, it is not overly on possessive type. I also like the MC, he thinks first before doing something or suggesting idea although there is one time he rush a decision it's understandable because he is a worried father.

I loved this one. Very cute. Very sweet bl romance.
A "carp demon" (transmigrator w a system) gets picked up by the mute 5th prince fighting for the emperors seat. The system keeps giving the MC tasks to help the ML (leveling up his transformation abilities until he becomes human), but they all seem to involve le*d behavior.
The 5th princes character does a really good job of shining through without any dialog, and his relationship with the MC is very natural and sweet. You would think one of the primary protagonists being mute (and the other being a voiceless fish half the time) would make progessing the relationship difficult, but it is not even in the slightest for this author.
the only complaint I have comes towards the end: the villianous dialog (somewhere between 130 & 133). Just fully skip it.

Its of no use (just recaps what we already know like its a huge reveal), wastes time, and makes the villians look dumb as bricks for not just finnishing the job RIGHT THERE when they have 100% the upper hand. The villian might as well have turned to camera and said "now we are going to short break bc the hero is escaping and needs an hour to get to backup, then bring them here"
for what was billed as the most menacing hidden boss of the book ^^^ huge disapointment. It belittles THEIR intelligence, and the intelligence of our heros who were caught by these idiots with their pants down. Spend the whole book with intelligent problems to solve, only to trip face first into a pie at the finnishing line.

I'll come back to write another review when I finished it but right now, the novel is wonderful!

is hilarious and heartwarming and has less drama between the characters than I'm used too, which is a good thing!.

Both main characters are smart and cunning, and our little fish does mistakes and misunderstands but is mostly base on his genuine innocence. He also has backbone and is not scared of setting limits in the relationship. I love them both so much!.

The prince is mute, which worries me a little bit since I... more>> wasn't sure the novel was gonna portrait his disability fairly, but it did. At least for me, it adds a layer of characterization and he's lovely and ruthless at the same time. His disability does holds him back, but he has clever ways to overcome it and the people around him, like his closes servants, our fish and his father the emperor, have a genuine connection with him and understands him as family who are used to being around a person with disability should.
The novel is not perfect. The side plots can be a little boring,

But has some good side character (the foreign princess is hilarious and I love her) and overall this novel is super enjoyable.

10/10 recommend for an easy and fun read.

p.s I want to take some parts seriously but then I remember the main prota is a fish and I can't stop laughing!.

edit (a couple of chapters later) OMG THEYRE SO ADORABLEEEEE!.

And the court intrigue got way better since I can tell the princes apart and know them better. Also the emperor gets more development, and side plots get better since there's more to the characters lives than just lovey dovey romance. And the kids.... I adore them!!!!! Cutes kids ever!. 100/100 I fell I love with this novel and every update is better and better!. <<less

even when he discovered the fact that MC was fish/human, he actually never questioned him and accepted him the way he was. Sometimes ML is faced with difficulties of his disability and it made my heart ache for him like when he tries to confess to MC but MC didn’t gave him a chance to slip a paper, when he faced the fish assassin and he couldn’t call for back up, or when he thoughtfully stores the words he wanted to say to MC.

All I can say is this novel is Good like chefs kiss Good.

The story is so cute and funny but also has enough debt in the schemes and relationships that when I started reading I found it really hard to stop.

To people who have read and liked this I really recommend reincarnated as a hamster as it has very similar vibes to this story.

If I could add more stars I would!

God this is such a good read.

The ML is not a yandere tyrant or anything overbearing from what youd first think from the title. But no! He is an absolute sweetheart, a wonderful husband and the best dad. Even the MC is refreshing and a good father.

The MC is kindhearted and repays goodness tenfolds. He knows his limitations and he may have the golden finger of the system that literally helps him progress but these things aren't given easily but had to be... more>> done as a task (that moves the plot of the story)

You could see the gradual change of how the MC treats the ML. From a 2d omnipotent ML to realising the ML is human too and sees ML as who he truly is (something the 'original book' never showed). Even if a male lead halo exists, he treats the ML and cares for the ML

Let me also note how adorable their children are (´∩｡• ᵕ •｡∩`) aaaa they are so cute I would die for them

The ending was pieced together wonderfully. The pieces were all set with out dragging the story too long and just enough for you to go along with how they analyze the clues together towards the 'conclusion' but then realized "OH WAIT THERES MORE?!"

and by the end of all the mystery youll hold your head wondering oh damn the clues were already laid right in front of you. All packaged and sealed into a big picture at the end

Ngl it was very satisfying and this is probably one of those stories id love to reread again <<less
