In my opinion, it felt a bit dull. There was a couple parts of the story I didn’t understand. The characters are a bit emotionless. I feel like it’s just me who didn’t really resonate with those story.

I did like how they did the ABO. 👌

Recently, I have been finding the most heartwarming, sweet novels to read, and I am loving it. This is to add to my selection of soft and fluffy. I love that CB did not use ZJ's Feelings for him to ridicule him or make him feel bad. He patiently and calmly tries to understand ZJ and his feelings. I love that he defended him against one of his closest friends and never made him Insecure as he already is. I love his decisiveness when CB almost lost ZJ. whew, what can I say, this story has a lot of flaws, some that are easy to overlook and some that aren't. however, I couldn't help but be moved by the MC and his obsessive love for the ml, which ive got to say, is also pretty self-less at the same time. zhang jue, I will protect you!!! yes, you are a little weird, but I feel compelled to defend you anyway!!!

as for the ml, I don't get all the hate he gets. 1. he never expected his ex-classmate,... more>> who by the way he hasn't seen in like 10+ years, to suddenly rescue him and disrupt his whole plan. not to mention, said ex-classmate confessed his love for him back when they were in school and even after he got rejected, still remained in love with him! 2. he was not obligated to reciprocate

however, I have to admit chen boqiao certainly could be a bit of an as*hole at times, especially at the beginning. but then again, he really didn't know zheng jue.

zheng jue gains his trust pretty fast though, way too fast, in my opinion.

which finally gets me to the one thing that prevented me from giving this 5 stars (among other minor stuff) : I kinda didn't like how fast their relationship moved. from zheng jue's pov it very much is a slowburn, but from chen bioqiao's... it's a total fastburn.

A sweet novel. The angst was just right. Normally I hate ABO novels bc it doesn’t make sense to me, I prefer realistic BL novel. But I can make an exception for this novel. MC your average looking guy and socially awkward. ML mister popular and lol by everyone. I’m glad that both characters are likable and sweet.

This story has an interesting premise. And, it started with a bang. The writing is quite deliberate, but never too simple. At times, there are even burst of lyrical writing (translation). Thus, one can't help but feel the heightened anxiety and wariness of the characters, mostly for ZJ, and root for their eventual happiness. However, the writer rushes the plot and character development on some critical moments, especially towards the end, that makes the emotional journey, together with the CP, feel uneven and somewhat truncated.

Ok so, this is a good unrequited love type of story, or at least it suits my taste the most. If you're looking for green flags or a typically healthy relationship, I don't think this is for you. For me personally, this just gave me the right enough of pining and a lil bit of self-loathing that I can kinda relate with. What I like most about it is that by the end, you can definitely say that they truly love each other equally. I dunno...i can't speak for all... more>> the readers but all I can say is that you should give this novel a chance if you ever find it even a little bit intriguing. <<less

I truly do not understand why this has the high of a rating.

It's a story with half-assed character development.

I like a good slow burn but a slow burn only works if interesting and dramatic things are happening outside of the romance, which then leads the two characters together.

... more>> This wasn't the case. Both characters didn't really change from beginning to the end. There was not any kind of drama.

The ML's thoughts were contradictory to his actions right off the bat.

MC is a doormat. And except for him hanging out for 9 hours when they were in highschool we have absolutely no idea why he likes ML.

The sm*t, if you can even call it that, is so cold and mechanical. I don't think the author actually enjoys writing spicy scenes and just put them in there for the sake of getting the tag.

I read until chapter 45 hoping that there would be some kind of separation, pregnancy, redemption arc or anything resembling a storyline. I was greatly disappointed. <<less

It's a good novel but not that intense or attractive. Definitely the plot is good and if the writing would have been little more less hurried and explained, this would have been a master peice. Things would have escalated differently and Definitely more fantastically if the emotions would have been expressed little more better. But still, it's a good story.

I'll give this a 4.4 I don't know how to do that, so I had to bring it down to a four. Overall, I would say this is the perfect novel for some angsty unrequited love I be craving this genre often and just the mc's thoughts are just so heartbreaking sometimes and hopeless but extremely rational and Smart which I love. The ML grows beginning he's really hard to tolerate But don't worry he's great in the end. I would have to say some cons that made me not... more>> giving a five star 1. It's already hard for me to give things a five star lol and 2nd Side characters were lackluster The ending was also a bit lackluster so yeah but I still recommend it of course.

to deep dive more into what I didn't like is there wasn't there wasn't much character development the shou I didn't feel like he got all the confidence and they didn't really confirm their love for each other very vocally just a I like you which I guess it's OK but I I guess I wanted it to be more dramatic for me to really feel it because the bottom feelings are so deep And I know in the ending he says the look in ML eyes can tell that he loves me as much as I love him But I'm like you weren't even confident when he was showing you through his actions How is his eyes help you be confident lmao Makes no sense to me. Maybe it would have helped if they had more fluffy moments, I feel like I need a couple more chapters to feel it. Then WORST OF ALL they didn't even name their effing baby lol. I only seen the baby in one paragraph What the hell is that. I Also wanted to see the further into the future together the side characters are very 2 dimensional only one-character trait A lot of things weren't cleared up like I wanted the character pu shei to actually understand their relationship I wanted to see more about what the world thought It's not like they mattered but I wanted to see it anyway, but these are just all nitpicky things Still very good.

  1. The premise is so unique it's abo but all the negatives of it is eliminated. Although I do love a well written cliche abo but reading smth like this is very refreshing. The story starts with a very military-politcal situation but the story is not at all about that it's mostly just about the leads and their feelings.

    Many ppl can feel like it's a lil dull cuz they're not giggling at every contact they have but that's the reason it's very mature even tho they're both in their 20s the closest assosiation I can make is like a young adult romance movie where the leads kiss in sunset.

    I've seen many ppl complain about CB but he's always been sincere since day one just in a different way than others and the pinning is really sad and sometimes makes you feel like ZY is pitiful but it's all very beautifully described and somehow it's very realistic.

    The story has a very idealistic yet realistic parts former for the setting and latter for the charactersand development too the characters suddenly doesn't change just cuz they are in love so props for that too

    It almost made me tear up in some chapters. The satisfaction I felt withou is so pure!I really liked it.

On a very idealistic note this book is a breath of satisfaction. Although not every novel needs it's connect to realism yet, I would like to add that if this novel was even a little more turned away from it's idealistic nature it could very well come under the umbrella of covering some very deep psychological topics of how much of an impact insecurities can have on one's life and the way others perceive you.

I am sad on how low MC thinks of himself. I mean, not as much as Bye-Bye (this really shattered my heart into pieces), but still, he is not confident when it comes to ML.

ML is... good. Uhm, sometimes I feel like he's so vain (but he's right, though and I also feels frustrated on MC's thought about having a relationship with ML.) Just to defend him, HE IS NOT A SHTTY CHARACTER. When he is not sure about the MC, he is drawing the line between them, because he... more>> knows that MC has a feelings for him and he had no plan entangling with the MC.

What he did with MC's medicines/syringe are not intentional, and the anesthetic factor of that medicine is fast actin so I bet he cannot feel the touch and such (just a guess, because the author did not specify it, but in the way that the story progress, maybe you'll come to this conclusion)
