Hot damn, now this baby was a really great find, this is a real Yuri romance hidden gem, the 2 leads are super likable with great chemistry together that really carry the story, the world building is gradual and well paced always giving you just enough pieces of info to keep you interested without having to resort to info dumps and making it seem extremely natural as we learn more about the world, and it also has a surprisingly unique power/magic system, top it all off with some interesting enough... more>> side characters and again this is just a gem.

Its a solid 8/10 story, just go read it guys, if you're looking for a good romance with developed main leads and a bit of adventure this is it lol, tired of all Yuri being entertainment circle bullshit? Well not anymore.

Yep I know just an 8 after all that praise? Welp guys you know how most Chinese stories endings are, rushed and unsatisfying.... And well this one isn't really unsatisfying it does end on a pretty happy note but it was definitely rushed my dudes some plotlines were resolved too easily at the end + the ones that are just downright ignored, it made me quite sad tbh, the main story itself though does get a satisfying conclusion but this really needed like 20-30 more chaps lol.

Not the worst ending ever, left me with a smile but still it could have been so much more.

Now I dont wanna give too much away cuz it'd be a disservice to talk too much about our leads since seeing their development is honestly the best part but I just gotta tell you author put some real effort into both women, they both feel real and nuanced, the actions they take always go along with their character and they just both develop so damn good.

Pay attention guys lol both girls really give out hints from chap 1 that they're not really just cliche one note characters, it was quite satisfying seeing my assumptions about both girls be true, let me just say that Hua Mu is a Tsundere done perfectly she starts out like a spoiled rich young lady being a pampered princess and all but dude shes such a sweetheart, a naughty sweetheart lol a very positive and tolerant girl shes fun to just seee, and Bai Zhen is a great cold exterior hot interior type of gal, she's a very frustrating type of person really being very stubborn but when she decides on something she goes all in, shes so f*cking cute too being a bit socially awkward and just too loving and protecting.

Both have their irritating points but both are so understandable, I loved them botth.

Their life on the island bro its just so good haha, I really thought the island stuff would be just a gimmick where they get rescued super fast or end up being tedious but not at all bro, the leads are so damn compatible and fun to watch and their adjustment to the island is so entertaining to watch, I didn't get bored at all.

Their adjustment to the island is so damn believable too from what they both value, their respective duties, when they start wanting to improve their situation

i really loved how it wasn't just instantly f*cking KABLAMOO 1 week in and theyre already building a fully functioning house, nope, first like 2 months they dont do much of anything aside just cuz Hua Mu is sure they'll be rescued soon and doesn't want to expend effort on something they'll leave soon, dont worry she really turns that mentality around

their food, their tools, the bathroom, f*cking everything bro, but again its never dragged out or tedious, author always giving enough time and thought to everything and moving on.

The first 3/4 of this series mostly take place on the island with just our 2 leads slowly opening up to each other while also seamlessly building up the world and magic system its just damn great, the occasional chap with a side character to give us more world building also keeps things fresh.

The side characters themselves also have a couple very interesting stand outs, the Queen and the Tower Leader are super damn interesting lol feel like MC's themselves really.

The magic system guys its so fresh and unique, well tbh it is quite random and asspully at times but I haven't seen such a thing in other Chinese stories guys, no system, or 1 time bs skill or second chance all mighty knowledge, its this weird sort of Jojo Stand/Nen awakening thing with 2 different variations between physical strength and mental power, 1 affects mostly women and vice versa, their bonding, letting female couples get pregnant lol, author put some real elbow grease here for real.

But that last 1/4 of the series after our main leads go back guys.... It just takes such a weird turn guys, characters start making some pretty iffy decisions, some asspulls are brought in outta nowhere and are never explained, the tone turns very somber and melancholic from outta nowhere...._ like idk dude things were still interesting sure but author went too ham creating what really felt to me as forced sad and depressing situations, one after another one on that last 1/4.

That + how a lot of things are unresolved.... Like bro these things that are left in the air are pretty damn important.

like broo where the f*ck did that Origin Y come from? What happened to the leader? Its implied she sacrificed something to revive Bai Zhen what was it? Did she lose her healing ability? Gain emotions? Close to dying? How could you skip the Queen and Leader revealing theyre the mom's? We never get to see Hua Mu's goodbye to her dad or meeting her "mom"? Why the f*ck does Bai Zhen keep sacrificing herself when it was stated she only cared about Hua Mu not the country? How could you end it just as Bai Zhen recovers her memories? After hyping it up so damn much we get no wedding? Did you really have to make Bai Zhen be in a coma for 5 f*cking years? While the child was born? f*ck you author lol, we didn't need so much drama after everything they went through.

Like bro again so many interesting plotlines just forgotten lol the side characters just really take a big hit at the end and all that time building them up amounts to nothing.... For most of them, the final extra just kinda comes outta nowhere focusing on a very interesting relationship, but well tbh it just left me wanting a lot more of that

a 3 way women relationship? You dont see that everyday lol, they all end up in a "I really want to get these 2 on-board withe me" mentality so I really wanted to see how theyd talk about it lol all 3 wanted it to happen so it was just about saying it, I really wanna find a series like this now

I do definitely recommend it for the main pair though their ED is quite happy

I'm new to the whole sentinel and guide thing so I can't fully appreciate it, but I'm not complaining.

I am a sucker for survival settings though. It wasn't realistic since BZ was like superman and could handle the absurd demands of HM but what can I say? Survival settings set up the best of flags.

Romance was good. With AU settings like these it's easy to incorporate the romance with the situations they face being sentinels and guides and all.

Also my personal favorite points:

All in all it's a nice read and I hope to reread it again once the translations are done
