This is such a cute yuri story, I love it. I was anxious at first because the plot starts with a marriage contract without love involved. But the more I read, the more I got healed. There was some drama sprinkled here and there but they all got a resolution I can only support.

Story:

Our female lead, Lu Lingxue, drafted a marriage contract for 5 years to our MC Jiang Ci, which she agreed on. LLX wanted to fulfill her grandpa's wish that way, since he promised her to the granddaughter... more>> of his now deceased friend (MC's grandpa I think). The story starts 3 years after the contract started and gives insight into MC's life of a loveless marriage, but slowly showing FL's sweet sides and MC coming to terms about her own feelings. We get to know more about MC's two friends, one who seems much closer to MC than MC's "wife", and interpersonal drama between her friends and their relationships.

The romance is slow-paced, and sometimes not much happens in the chapters, but I still enjoyed it greatly. Our two dorks are very lovely and seeing them growing and starting to trust each other really put a smile on my face. I wish them eternal happiness!

So yes, I totally recommend this sweet and adorable romance novel. So healing, especially the later chapters ☺️

The book as a whole was a nice read, at least up to where I am currently. My only peeve about it is that some of the side characters are so goddamn annoying that I ended up feeling worse after than when I started reading. It could just be that I’m a bit too sensitive though.

Only 1 chapter. It took me only 1 chapter to rate this 5 out of 5. Sometimes when you read something and it's that good you know everything after this is just going to be just as great.

So what do I mean? It literally took the whole 1 chapter to paint me a picture and get the ball rolling for "yep, we're gonna have a love story my wife and I but it's not gonna be that typical thing you're thinking" because really wow, this chapter already ended with such... more>> a perfect taste of humour and romance cliffhanger. Literally perfect. <<less

I like the story but I hope it would have explained a bit more about the 3 years of their marriage. Obviously, the MC, Jiang Ci, spent all those 3 years developing her own career, taking time to forget about her childhood lover, and hanging out with her best friend. The FL, Lu Xingxue, was also busy taking care of her company, but she had an unrequited love for quite some time before the FL found out.

I was hoping to see a hidden plot behind the reason why Lu agreed... more>> to the arranged marriage, not just because of her grandparent's promise, but because she had encountered Jiang somewhere in the past and had taken notice of her. Just a wishful thinking

I could tell Wen Nian was a calculated person mile away~~ She was one scary woman...

Both are quite strong and independent women, one being a CEO and the other being a chief/manager of her craft (or something similar).

What I fear the most when I start a Yuri story is that the author will just take a normal couple and just change the gender of one of them. Unluckily, Lu Xingxue, our CEO, is pretty much a male CEO, calm, pragmatic but internally jealous. There is no talk of any female issues, yuri marriage is totally normal in this world, there's a lesbian woman every corner. In the professional level, there's no mention of any difficulty for them so I guess it's not a long time patriarchal society over there. They were talking about babies since almost the beginning without saying how so I even thought this world wasn't the same and two women could get a baby without science...

All those questions are due to a lack of world building, the author pretty much only wrote the story from Jiang Ci's perspective, about all the cannon fodders of the story. You have around 20 characters appearing in the story, about 3/4 of them are ******. Not sure if it was necessary to add those dramas.

About the writing, not sure if it's the translation being a bit confusing but chapters feels unfinished, you have also have time skip a bit too frequently/unnaturally. Scenes ends abruptly too often. Another part of the story being not so good is the lack of details and descriptions. You have a very hard time picturing anything. Characters are describe really superficially, Jiang Ci is pretty with big eyes, Lu xingxue is beautiful with long black hair and is taller than Jiang Ci... and all other characters are pretty/beautiful/cool/nothing.

All in all, It wasn't a bad read, but it felt very unpolished and you don't really feel like binge reading it in one day.

I liked it a lot, I liked seeing FL and MCs interactions and how cute they were at the end. I liked Hou Zhenzhen a lot too, and I was glad she agreed the MC shouldn’t get with Wen Nian. I did not like Wen Nian at all, I felt so a the very beginning that Wen Nian was just taking advantage of the MCs love for her and just stringing her along.

I enjoyed this one a lot... the temporary/minor angst was a fun surprise but their relationship development was a little more on the normal pace so I kind of appreciated that. Lu Xingxue is so understanding and so patient (well 99% of the time, , she reveals something in Chapter 48 lol) and Jiang Ci's character development was also interesting to witness. ... more>>

It's soft. soft! The plot is good this far. Their relationship are like "non-interactive roommates" lol though they have been married for three years–

Their relationship is slowly forming. Not too slow, neither too fast.. its quite refreshing. Lu Xingxue is the best wifey, Jiang Ci keep up..

Though the translation felt a bit lost it picks up again later on, hopefully it can be corrected in the future. Kudos to the translators! 🙇‍♀️❤

I love it. The world building is a bit lacking and I want to know more about Lu and how she started to fall for Ci. Hope this get adapted in manhua someday. Won't get tired of rereading it again.
