Please use proper spacing and paragraphs.Dong Jiahui, the daughter of the Dong family, was kicked out of the house by the Lu family because she had been married for three years and was unable to get pregnant. Dong Jiahui, who felt ashamed, jumped into the river in search of death. Immediately after she was rescued, her soul also changed.
The Dong family’s Jiahui was five miles away from the Shanghe Village. Zhao Donglin’s wife was an educated youth who left her two children to go back to the city. In order to take care of the children, Zhao Donglin, who was about to become a battalion commander, retired to the countryside.
“This damned little bit*h cried and shouted to marry us, to let her marry our Donglin. Now she doesn’t even care about her children and wants to go back to the city!”
For the six-month-old girl, Yingbao, Zhao Donglin wants to give his two children a stepmother. He refused the introduction of 17 or 18 people who were matched with him and finally chose the infertile Dong Jiahui. Zhao Donglin thought that since Dong Jiahui couldn’t have a baby, she would certainly treat Heidan and Yingbao as her own child.
He inquired and found out that Dong Jiahui was a woman with a submissive personality, and such a woman leads a stable life. As long as she treats the children well, he will treat her well for the rest of his life.
On the wedding night, Dong Jiahui finally discovered the secret of the original owner’s infertility. It turned out that she was still a v*rgin!

The story is more or less streamlined, but I loved the light ups and downs. Mild, but greatly interesting novel to keep you going if you're in the mood for it. (TL;DR: If you're looking for great stimulus and explosive love relationship, please look elsewhere) No over-the-top cannonfoddery or limelight scenes, so def. more Josei orientated.
The antagonists are mere passersby in the protagonist's life, some annoying relative you can relate to maybe, or be it that 'one person' from a group of co-workers/friends/etc. Akin to the darn popcorn kernel sitting on your molar for the entire duration of the movie levels of annoying if you're going to let it be annoying. It gives a good example of how to mentally handle people like that in your life. Childcare overall was lacking but realistically written. None of the backward 'I care for mommy cause mommy is so silly' BS.
Am especially fond of the eldest son, who under given circumstances couldn't help but mature in some ways quicker than other children his age but maintained a different kind of innocence than his other siblings. MC is an actual hardworking and caring person, more so than any other female protagonists centered around family stories so far.
Love the TLC she put into her family and how they reciprocate back.
(The MC was so caring to the point that it shows how half-assed other protagonists from other novels are about their families though, hahaha) If we'd talk about cons, it would be the extreme speed of her adaptabilities to her new life in the 70ties, and the forceful virg*n image the author maintained for MC.
Obviously, it was mentioned in the summary but it still unnecessarily made divorced women not look as good as it probably should have.
The weird double standard of a divorced man is great if he got his life in order, but a divorced woman, regardless, is always a no-no.
When someone wants to pick on MC, they always focus on that, turning mostly a blind eye to the one-time divorced ML.
Mother-in-law had some extreme objection towards MC when ML first mentioned it.
Later on, he became more enthusiastic about her/more fond of her after finding out she was a virg*n. I'd rather have him and his family accept her as the situation had shown it.
About the ex-wife of ML; it's rather simple and all that's been mentioned has been already mentioned in the story so I don't find it necessary for her to come up and stir up too much trouble for the main couple and their children.
It definitely s**ked in her circumstances, but she just passed on the pain of betrayal to her kids, which leaves me with no sympathy for her. This wasn't meant to be a dramatic novel anyway so antagonists have more or less a sense of propriety. Brain-dead malicious cannon fodders are overused and unwelcome anyway.
You can say that ML's younger brother's ex-wife (first cannon fodder) was like that too, but she was merely too childish. Even if she'd pick a physical fight, she'd only to her birth sisters.
But on that note, hell yes to men in this story getting rid of their toxic wives.
