Quite fun! I read this entirely in MTL and didn't really suffer much from it (so in terms of comprehensibility, there's no issue.) Of course, the main object of concern is the content of the novel itself LMAO, which is not bad. Typical get-rich story with an overly powerful FL (her golden finger is her business acumen and variety of skills from the previous life, PLUS a mysterious ability to intuitively sense valuable objects and propositions) and a loyal dog ML. Halfway through, it got a bit boring, I admit, and I skipped/skimmed most of the content (because it became more and more plot-driven than character-driven), but the fact that I persisted till the very end says a lot. At least, the author's ability to keep interest is very strong.

SUMMARY: The FL of this story was the daughter of a nouveau richer in the Capital. When she was 16, her father forced a divorce upon her mother and chased her away, leaving her in a family that favored an illegitimate son over her. She spent her entire first life pleasing this family and never getting any rewards. Until, finally, she died in a kidnapping incident and was reborn. The night she came to was the night of her mother and father's divorce. Not wanting to stay with the family who used and then dumped her away in her last life, she resolutely left with her mother, despite the fact that they had almost nothing.

From then on, she vowed to live better than her old family and gave her all into business. First, starting out small businesses to earn capital, making connections with some big families with the use of her foresight, and then making everything bigger and bigger. In the meantime, she and her mother picks up a boy about two months older than her, who speaks and acts like your typical white lotus XD. This is the ML of the story, and he pretty much holds up the romance of the novel by himself till the very end (the FL is the business oriented type who scarcely cares about romance).

RATING: I give this story a 3.85/5!! Quite good for a poor-to-rich story. Some of the escalations were a bit repetitive, but there were always some small surprises in between to keep you interested. Plus, the characters are really likeable. Even though there are low IQ cannon fodders constantly showing their presence, at least the author does something different by reforming those that can reform and not completely beating them down inexplicably like in most similar novels. <<less

It’s always hard for 300+ chapter stories to retain attention and consistency as there might be some repeat plots but I really enjoyed it. The ending didn’t feel rushed either but as the story as a few points that irk me the final note should be a 4.5/5 for me.

Pros:

  • The characterization of each one in the story is very well done and if they had to change it would be logical and gradual
  • The main cast is really likable from our reformed immature bear children to our high IQ-low EQ babies
  • The background economic development is pretty well done
  • The plots are satisfying
  • Even with some OP mains there are some points where you really feel the tension of the stakes
Cons:

  • There are too few real high IQ villains which is a shame as the few that were there really made some great plots
  • As the MC is a bit too OP from being smart, and an overachiever in the past life plus a slight koi buff there are times where you don’t know if there really are stakes

It’s a lot of cliches but very entertaining. There are no real villains and no melodrama which is typical of novel like this. From beginning to end, no real third parties in the romance story. No jerky ML moves. Romance is not very strong but still quite sweet. Loved the FL and ML. Focus of the novel is on the rise of FL in the business world.

Writing/Translation: 3/5

I read mostly in MTL for the whole thing. It's surprisingly understandable. Even when the sentences are almost gibberish, I can still understand them so good that there were hardly any interruptions in the flow. And sometimes, when I don't understand but want to know, I can just check the translation from a different browser and that always comes through. I would rate this much higher if there was a TL.

Not bad for a story this length. We go from junior high to just graduating from college. There is a time skip in the middle ish from high school to college which I wanted in detail but eh.

Plot: 4/5

I give it a 4 just because it's so long and I was invested the whole way haha. I love this type of stories and it's so long! It's more dealing with adversaries who are jealous of them or want to take advantage of them because of blood relationships and doing business to get wealthy. This part isn't that detailed and a bit hand-wavey, but there is constant doing stuff to make money.

Romance: 3.8/5

The romance is okay. It's not the focus but it is there. The ML is also an interesting enough character. And they only get together near the end lol.

Setting/Worldbuilding: 4/5

Nice haha. She has so many business ventures.

Characters: 4.5/5

Very good! I love all the side characters. They all kind of grow especially the ones close to the MC. Nice to see. Also nice is that some of the bad guys became good guys hehe. That's a bit different.

Personal Enjoyment: 4/5

I like that it's so long and set in one of my favourite era. The length and story are similar ish to Back to the Sixties Get Wealthy and raising cubs or something like that. It's not quite as step-by-step with lots of numbers to get rich but it's good enough lol.

I really enjoyed reading this novel! Recommend for sure :)

I agree with TenkaDXS though, there were too few real high IQ villains - they were just cannon fodder. Their actions did cause frustration due to their illogical thinking and motivations towards the MC.

Enjoyed poor-to-riches plot.

I wish the MCs golden finger would have been explored more. It is not mentioned after the theme moves from antiques to business.

The relationship between MC and ML had a good foundation but how it came together was quick.

Never approved of Wen Ru's partner.

Saw a lot of Zhao Qing but not Zhao Huan who has a better relationship with MC in my opinion

Dorm mates of MC just go away, after the focus shifts to business, little to no mentions of school

MC has a lot of masters, but I think she became proficient too quick. This does make for good face slapping chapters.

Grandparents of Sun Quan also stop being mentioned, especially after MCs mom gets married and has baby

I would have loved to see more development with friends of characters

Despite saying all this, it is not highly prevalent or big of an issue in my opinion, the story is enjoyable and you can make your own conclusions too.
