I like the beginning, then 60+ chapters in, I started really disliking it.

3rd prince is without motivation that I was thinking, he doesn't need to be in the story.

MC's sister is dislikable (she keeps hating on MC). I think she's more of MC's maid's sister than MC's.

The men other than her brother's are disgusting. They're all she's so scary, she's too cruel. Have to guard against her and then keep complaining when she's hesitating.

Especially, Ji Wenzhao. I wanted to kill him. Too narcissistic and keeps complaining about women. When MC hesitates, his lines are line "This is why women can't be on the table" then when MC says it "Women's heats are too cruel." Disgusting. 🤮

I also dislike 4th prince, he keeps on trying to insert himself when he's useless. Asking did I cause trouble then goes and asks his friends to help him join again. Always thinking that MC is too cruel. 🤬
I think he was getting in the way. MC's maid came on the trip but became 4th prince's nanny. So why did both of you have too cause trouble by joining the trip. They have no strength nor ability to run fast. Useless.

The opening is really impressive. It's a much more mechanical and personal look at the transmigrated to ancient China concept. The author is showing quite a bit of rigor in building the characters from the start. They have first gone to some length to provide the mechanism for how the MC goes from being a chump to being a champ. You can see the Chekov's guns being loaded and aimed. The transmigration is also handled exceptionally well. There's no bang your head and become a god here.

I dropped this novel right now. Im at the part where they got lost at sea and met up with Zhang Yunming on land.

I beginning was promising but oh, boy, it went downhill. I stuck to it just because I want to know what shes going to do at the border and how she does her revenge.

My understanding of her is she's a vengeful and also head strong, stubborn person. She waited 1000 years to take revenge. But then only a 10 years... more>> of rebirth she changed. She talks about karma and all that so she's hesitating. So her mind is no longer revenge but saving her family out of crisis. I wish she was stubborn and whether other innocent people die or not. She would still carry her plans so even if karma/retribution does come she is not scared. She knows that certain things has certain prices to pay and she is willing to carry it. But she's so disappointing. And she's always being a matchmaker and theres so much romance and its all so 1v1 and they are all happy. Come on!!!!! What the hell am I reading. When they where going to the 4th prince before going to the border, and the 4th prince wanted to come as well. I want her to firmly say NO. What is 'Su Wanniang wants to spend time with him'. And they love each other seriously. I feel like she should of just left Su wanniang with the 4th Prince at the Imperial Mausoleum. Throughout the journey there was no need for them. If we cut them out of the story it does not seem like anything is missing. I get the Author prob want the 4th prince to experience the world so he could soak up knowledge so he could become the emperor. But like he and Su wanniang are really not necessary. The excuse to bring Su wanniang in the first place was because she's a female and need another female with her or her reputation is ruined. But like you are crossdressing and hiding your identity. And no one knows who you are unless you tell them. So how could your reputation be ruined. Why you need another female. Really this novel is pissing me off. They keep saying 'I want to delay so I can spend more time with you'. And the MC just lets them. And plus I dont like the fact the MC tries to implement modern society system whatever to them. The majority rules. That is so annoying. So many problems are being decided between people who are so selfish.

All the romance in here is all BS. They are 'if you die, I will follow you'. COME ON!!!! The MC doesnt want Zhang YuZheng to be in danger. And she also makes it seem like she will also die if he dies. But what about the revenge plan. What about her family. I dont really care about Yan Shi because that's prob her character setting. But I dont want all characters to be like that. I need people to look at the big picture. Even if their loved ones die, instead of dying with them. I want them to be alive and live well. Its making me more angry the more I write. The 4th Prince is selfish for his love. Even though he has all that knowledge he'd rather the beauty then the world. I want him to think 'have the world and the beauty'. As long as he's the emperor he can do what he wants. Seriously. I wish they moved the romance back to the end. And just write this person ended up with this person. Instead of including so much interactions when its not needed.

I wish some of the man in here could have more ancient peoples thinking. Concubines. Why is all the brothers not having concubines. And why is all of them able to marry the people they like. And why is there no arrange marriage from the emperor that they can't refuse. Even if she knows the future wives. But the emperor is upset with the first son marrying Lu Shi. Then why not send concubines. I also want ladies to have unrequited love. That is not fulfilled. I want all sorts of realistic things that happen not just 'All the people around me gets what they wanted'.

And about the modern day society systems. There is really no need to mention them to ancient people. Its not like a day or two can change it to modern day. It still needs that 1000 year time gap. And also even if they want to implement that. They still need at least 3-4 generation (200-400 years). And they will already be dead by then. Whos going to help them change the system. Their descendants? I feel like they should do what they can in their life and live their own life. And let the world spin slowly. <<less

This novel is full of contradictions. MC as a protagonist is very confusing. I don't understand her purpose. One time, she was planning A. But later she executed B. 😑 I dropped this novel already.

It's a very political novel with intricate plots. Though the novel doesn't have 1000 chapters (less than 200), each chapters are long and packed with a lot of events. I also love the originality of how the rebirth came to play instead of the usual got killed and immediate rebirth with grievances. The romance is not an important part of the novel though it helps with moving the story along. This is more than a revenge novel, more like a reversal of the world. I loved the scheming of... more>> the FL and her deep mind. The ML is like a bit of color in the picture the FL is trying to paint. Essential but not the main focus. The initial premise is very interesting and rather unique in terms of the actual process behind the rebirth. MC and her schemes are quite enthralling and it's a pretty good build up.

However, I dropped it around halfway because it sometimes felt that MC was a side character in her own story. There's a lot of side characters and side plots that get hard to keep track of after a while. The novel focuses more on military stuff after a while. YMMV but personally not for me

This starts as with an interesting premise of rebirth, but it has two flaws. One, its very long winded about the flaws of feudalism vs modern governmental structures, repetitive too. Second, the story starts well, but ends in some kind of third party omniscient voice, detached as if giving a summary of how things finish up rather than actually telling the story. It’s somewhat understandable, as there are many characters storylines to wrap up, but it’s also a bit jarring and brings you out of the story.

So far so good. I can't stand the MTL and here's hoping for the TL to continue the work.

I have dubbed myself a veteran when it comes to MTL reading, but the author writes lengthy introductions of the characters be it main or extras. The way that the characters talk also reads as formal that my brain is feeling sluggish trying to read via MTL.

Iam really happy that I read this novel. I liked how every character has its own story past, present and future. While reading this novel, I have mixed feelings. Although each chapter is tooooo long, it is worth reading.

UYou can mtl rest of the chapters, they are easy not complicated.

This novel only has 173 chapters, but each chapters were long. I'm happy to be able to read this.
In early chapters, my eyes were swollen, cried too much. The last chapter was 166, the rest were extras. In the last 5/7 chapters, I cried and cried, I felt like niagara falls, my eyes are swollen when I'm writing this, my head hurts because I cried too much.

The ridiculous is her supernatural power and how did she know all the schemes and events when she wasnt there in the previous life. MC wasnot there in her last life, but she knew some things but how she could find all those tiny details eventhough she didnot experience and understand it. And how she could be profiling the enemy is haha moment for me. The author made the characteristic of the good and bad people are so on point to their label. Like, the enemies are always unlucky, unsuccessful in their schemes. It's like everybody that're not on MC's side are having their brain capacity being depleted. Not being able to see anythign weird with how MC with her disguise as weak child always create trouble. I couldnt wait to read for the finalization of the 15year plan in defeating the foreign enemy event, but it was not that glorious and a bit confusing. The ending too, not satisfying. MC readily let go all her responsibility after the wining the war and her family's matter was done and just ready to go to some island, leaving his youngest brother eventhough it was her fault that he 'woke up'.

I agree with one of the reviewer, I'm confused of what's the reason of the bickering between Shen Wen and Zhang Yuzhen beside giving them a reason of 'chemistry' between MC and ML. It was too out of her character. But this MC is just too contrasting sometimes. I still want to read this again tho.

I confused with her character that makes me more and more lazy to read.

I think its begin when she meet Zhang Yunzheng, second son a.k.a eldest daughter Zhang family. She likes to bicker with him and it looks like a two stubborn child.

When her younger brother almost mu*dered, her second brother take the servant to yamen but then all people is dead even their family. Shen Wen then sad because she cant save mu*derer's family. But when she talk with Zhang Yunming, she said she didnt want to just kill the prince but everyone in the back. She said she not good person, ok. BUT WHY she is sad because she can't save mu*derER'S FAMILY??? I mean when she said she want to revenge to everyone in the back prince, it is not that simple. Like maybe their family (prince's backbone) will also affected!! Maybe the author want to her to be soft person but also not good person?

the MC transmigration in this story is diffidently unique since it happen not because of luck or strong wish like most of transmigrated story but because the MC work hard for it using science which is really unique

the MC isn't an OP character even thought she is transmigrater she doesn't know everything, she have her own fear and her own doubt which make her more real than other transmigrater who know it all.
