TLDR: Between 2 and 3 stars it's readable but nothing great

What brings it down

It's a face slapping novel and the face slapping isn't satisfying. The author doesn't convey the MC's pain and suffering well and the revenge is equally flat. There's also, quite a few petty revenges that just seem uncalled for while much better targets are ignored, very frustrating

... more>> Too much pointless wealth p*rn there's parts that read like bad episodes of lifestyles of the rich and famous. It gets boring quickly.

The plot is ridiculous. The family brings her back to torture her from the start. No spoiler it's on the first chapter she's been back with them less than a year and they have been awful from day one. She has never had a shortage of familial affection from her adopted family. It just doesn't make sense. The plot gets more contrived and harder to swallow as it goes on.

overall it's just meh <<less

This is your regular Mary Sue rich family drama novel with a ridiculous FL and a doting ML. There are a lot of 2D characters, mostly villains, but other side characters aren't spared either.

While the FL isn't necessarily 2D her character design isn't all that nice either imo. Leaving her many secret identities aside, it kinda feels like she has a slit personality since she can go from iceberg cold to spoilt baby princess in seconds and vice versa. As someone who really dislikes grown people acting like babies, having... more>> to feel disgusted every few chapters doesn't bode well for my star rating.

In general, a lot of plot points don't make sense and some points are being bent like a professional contortionist to fit the narrative. But let's not get into that or else I will get a headache.

This novel is obviously targeting a younger audience, teenager age, than I am which means lots of drama, lots of girl fantasies and a good amounts of chuunibyo developments so I did not have high expectations to begin with.

I got relatively far into reading this since I have a high tolerance for tr*shy novels. However, I did end up dripping the novel since I got bored. Take that however you want. <<less

It was interesting at first. However, it took too long to reveal her true identity. I'm halfway through, and it's still not revealed. Plus, the interactions between the FL and her true family before they know the truth annoy me. The FL's various identities are also over the top and getting annoying as she's keeping them a secret. So over time, the only emotion I felt towards reading this was being annoyed at how the story progressed.

This novel had almost the same formula with other dog blood novel out there, such as:

    • The OP MC. MC had so many abilities, like: composing music, writing, racing, pharmacist, doctor, fashion design, etc. It's understandable though since she went around other worlds out there before being reborn.
    • The cold and handsome CEO as ML. ML was quite likeable since he was very considerate of MC.
    • The real and fake daughter trope but in this novel, it had a little twist
      Spoiler

... because MC wasn't actually the real daughter either

      [collapse]
    • The face slappings here and there, especially towards MC's fake family
      Spoiler

Thankfully, there's no love rivals out there so we didn't get to see a scene where there was a white lotus who tried to seduce ML, etc

      [collapse]
    • The brothers who spoiled MC to heaven
      Spoiler

MC literally had many brothers from the adoptive, biological, and cousin

      [collapse]
Don't expect a rich plot or some fancy conspiracy or scheme because there was none. In fact, the story was full of plot holes, for example:

Spoiler
    • Some recurring character's backgrounds weren't explained well, for example: Pei Xu. It's said that Pei Xu was illegitimate child but that was it. The only story about Pei Xu was when he asked MC to cure his best friend.
    • The story of Fu Qingli and Lu li's meeting was also brushed off by the author. According to Fu Qingli's side, Lu Li rap*d him but what was her motive? And what about her family's background? It's said that her family hated her but there was no specific reason why and how did she get away from arrange marriage? Also, what was her relationship with Su and Shen family (not Su and Shen from MC's family)
    • In the middle of the story, Su Ruowan's fiance suddenly went MIA and MC didn't do anything to him although he was also one of her enemy in her last life. It's said that he chose to be with MC's colleague but there was never any saying that he broke his engagement with Su Ruowan. As for his outcome, the author didn't elaborate either. It a pity because he wasn't a good guy.
    • The similar DNA between MC and Lu Jingran vs MC and her mother wasn't explained well by the author. I know it's because Lu Jingran and MC's mother were indentical twins so MC also had similar DNA with Lu Jingran but not everyone knew that. Also, till the end, Lu Jingran had no idea that she had a twin who was better than her which actually could be a fatal blow to Lu Jingran who always acted high and mighty all her life.
    • MC was a college student in the latter chapters but there was barely any scene of MC attending her lecture. She spent more times out there.
[collapse]

But I came here for face slapping anyway so it wasn't too disappointing. Just don't expect too much though so it won't spoil the fun of reading this story.

I have really mixed feelings about this novel. I started reading it knowing that it was the type to not think too hard about, Mary Sue, face slapping, revenge, OP and so on. I was not expecting much, had to go to a doctor's (dislike that) and needed something to get my head away from the "scary" infusion. Actually the infusion went well, never mind. But this is the type of novel you could read on a bus or at the doctor's waiting room. The novel is really really annoying... more>> as it keeps the FL's identity unknown for really many chapters. Actually I skipped some chapters and not even sure where she/they discover it. Towards chapter 664 it is still not "announced". I mean you are such a super duper family, 1- how did you lose a baby in the first place? And 2- it takes you 600 chapters to find out about it?

That's the annoying part considering that the novel is like 800 odd chapters. On the other hand, I am sort of interested in reading it without skipping as there are a lot of characters with many "mysteries/ mysterious past" situations. I would say that if you want something annoying and light but enjoy some sort of foreshadowed mystery loving- then this novel could be something to give a try to. However, as I had not read it properly I can not be sure whether the author fills up all those foreshadowed questions and answers. If the author didn't fill up all those holes s/he dug then it is better to not read this novel at all.

Hence the mixed feelings about it. Technically it's not bad if you go in looking for a general face slapping Mary Sue of average sentiment. So long as you are a patient type who likes to wait for the dug up plot holes to be filled- this novel is for you. <<less
