I love this!!! A little bit of childcare, more about cooking and family, with subtle politics.

FL isn't ambitious, she just wants to live her life in peace. She herself thinks that's she's mediocre, not as clever as her transmigrated sister (the heroine of the book). She doesn't want to get involved in the plot, though she's trying to not be hated by her husband, the future ruthless minister.

The ML is another iceberg-like character. A tsundere I guess? Mostly got jealous because FL seems to be closer to his family than to him. At some point, he got suspicious about the FL's 'amnesia' but it's resolved nicely.

The book's heroine is actually tolerable. She's someone who strives for the best in life. Living in an ancient and patriarchal society made her hard-hearted and selfish, but she still had her bottom line, not doing something heinous nor condemnable. She's someone who won't bother people who don't bring harm to her.

First half of the novel is about the life in the village, while later in the capital. If you're looking for something to read at a slow pace or in your leisure time, this might suit you. Not so many chapters, the political intrigue isn't that heavy, and a very heartwarming romance and family relationship.

Story really picks up in the latter half of the novel and thankfully very little political intrigue.

The relationship between the leads was so healthy and sugary

This novel is so fluffy and warm🎑. The romance is a slow burn but it's still sweet and it's not boring. In fact, I think it's interesting to read the daily life of the Wei family and how the FL gets along with them. It has court intrigue but not so much. Just about 20% of the novel. Sigh... what can I expect from slice of life tagged novel.

Well, it's pretty good if you want to read something light. While reading you won't feel much but after completing the novel I felt this is quite dumb.

The positive and highlight of the story for me is ML, man he is a genius! He can find out anything with just few clues, it's a shame this is a slice of life novel and he's just court official but if he was in any detective/mystery/crime novel he would have been terrific.... more>> Kudos to this genius.

Coming to FL, she's outright silly and childish. Initially it was quite fun but as the story progressed she became dumber. I still can't understand on what basis she was so confident to go to capital even knowing the story. She didn't have anyone who could help her (according to her novel knowledge), is she going to take revenge on original FL for orginal body? Nope. Then why? (⁠*⁠_⁠*⁠).... Nevermind. The braincells of the FL we ordinary mortals can't understand. Also her golden finger is extraordinary but giving it to someone like her it's pretty useless. She is dumb enough to share things about modern world (dumb, right?) there's a scene where she talks about cars to her cousin-in-laws and princess fuping, and when these kids ask how come they haven't seen that type of cart and where is it, how does she does knows about it, she was left speechless and anxious. Why would you share these if you don't know how to answer the questions?

The romance wasn't that good, it's too plain.

The political aspects was quite good but since this is slice of life it wasn't highlighted and was explained in just few para in few chapters. <<less

This is a warm and fluffy novel about family and romance, with a little bit of political intrigue.

What I like about this story is the MC’s sister, the “original heroine “ is not totally blackened, she was smart and has her own ambition.

I recommended this novel for readers who like novel with light plot, family warmth and fluffy romance.

MC is alright as a person. She is a more laid back type of transmigrator and has little intention of changing the plot. ML is quite bland and 2D as a character. All we know is that he is the cold silent type and is good at studying. Even the kids have more characterisation compared to him. Also, he sucks at communicating. But when MC is also kind of dense, this makes for very poor communication. Somehow they fell in love after they slept on the same bed. How and why they fell in love, I don't know. I Mtl-d this and it was actually pretty good! It was nice though it was a slow start and kind of a slow burn though when they got together it was very sweet.

The ability of MC was pretty nicely added and ML was really a perfect pair for her. The first half is more of a daily life kinda thing and picks up on the latter half. It's fairly good.

Such a sweet story. I loved it. This has become one of the works I come back to read again and again.

I loved the FL. She is perfect, smart and rational. She doesnt complicate things, if she feels there is a misunderstanding, she speaks and solves it. I liked her way of living peacefully doing what she likes. I love the way she teases the ML. Her witty replies and little tantrums are too realistic. Feels like a real relationship. ML is def one of the best ML I have... more>> read until now. He is really smart. The way he understands the FL is really nice. It really nice to see that he can see through her clearly and so there are no prolonged misunderstandings, which is very refreshing.

I loved the other characters too. All of the ML family, ML's mother. I liked the original FL too. Its really good that they made her not so bad and she dint get suddenly all s*upid after the FL shows up, which usually happens in most Chinese novels. The original FL will be super smart but suddenly when the FL shows, she starts making mistakes and behaves s*upidly and the FL always wins. This dint happen here. I am glad she had a peaceful ending too, she also had to live a hard life. She deserves it.

All loose ends were tied up perfectly, nothing was left hanging and the ending was perfect too. The pacing is also perfect, you never get bored. Its def in my top 10 list. Give it a try, you are not going to regret it.

The ML becomes an official of a higher rank. They have a baby boy. The other family members of the ML also settle down in the capital. The original FL joins a temple for a while and thinks about what to do next. (The FL talks to her after she loses the fight to the throne with the third prince which was one of my favorite moments) The original ML (third prince) is jailed.

- FL & ML characters towards each other. ML is a dang stonewall hardly responsive & interactive while FL is too playful/immature until they have a child to actually gelled as a couple. It'd be better if there's a bit more couple communication/growth between them rather than having it in towards the end/extras.

I mean I cant stand grandiose, mushy & cringy stuff either but this is quite a rigid romance even for me lol

Fluffy slice of life novel, with a sprinkle of political intrigue, therefore it's an easy read.

FL is more interested in food and having a comfortable life rather than ambition or status.

Meanwhile, the ogFL is also an intriguing character. Towards the end, they have a heart-to-heart discussion, and it's interesting how ogFL and FL discuss how the historical era and politics have affected them, since both have transmigrated.

It’s ok so far. Kinda boring in my opinion. I love feel good family oriented novels but this one is not doing it for me. I also find FL kinda childish. I’m currently having a book slump so maybe it’s just me right now. Will pick this up again later.

It’s quite a refreshing novel. Slice of life. FL is not very smart and has a golden finger. ML is the silent immortal type. Romance is cute and straightforward. No real villains. The villainess deserve a novel of her own.

Simple slice-of-life story focusing on the FL and how she helps the ML's family get better. ML does his own thing most of the time. It's kinda like a rags to riches story only midway through FL will regain her identity as a rich daughter and things become much easier.

What I like about the story is the romance between the leads is great. The chemistry is there and the way they fall for each other and develop their relationship was also natural and lovely.

Another great aspect is the supposed oriFL... more>> of the novel our FL transmigrated in: her stepsister Liu Yu'an. She did some bad things but realizes her mistake. Her ambition to do great things is still prominent and she does great things in the end which is a nice take in the novel.

I would've enjoyed it better if the novel was longer with more of the ML's POV and his scheming. I think it would've given the novel more depth.

Even so it is still a nice casual read. Doesn't require brains since there is no great revenge/faceslapping/scheming. <<less

I really enjoyed the laid-back read and it got sweeter and sweeter. The MC isn't the smartest but she was enjoyable. I was just looking for a novel about family with a bit of political intrigue. Then the ending showed a different one with the "villain" having her own ambitions etc.
