Transmigrated into a novel after her death, Su Jin has an engagement with Lu Xi, the legendary and unrivaled male protagonist, that was arranged between their families. After the revelation of her identity as the adopted daughter swapped at birth, she had no right to the engagement; that belonged to her sister, the female protagonist. In fear of interfering with the novel’s ending, she avoids him… But why is he ignoring the female protagonist and chasing her instead!

The Perfect Fiancé Code:

1. Support his fiancée

2. Unconditionally support his fiancée

3. Protect his fiancée unconditionally regardless of who or whom is present

Lu Xi felt that he should be able to accomplish this.

Su Jin: QAQ, please don’t do this…. I’m supposed to be the cannon fodder sultry ex-fiancée that you were going to dispose of!

Lu Xi: I have always been waiting for the moment that the 22-year-old Su Jin, you, would finally open her eyes.

Though at first enjoyable, the novel is mostly boring the more it goes on. Honestly, it's taking me a while to finish it (I still haven't finished it when I write this review) and it feels like I have to push myself to finish reading each chapter. I also personally think nothing so far is memorable. I'm often not picky about what I enjoy even if it's the most simple novel there is but this one is quite a shame because I was truly intrigued by the premise.

I forgot to... more>> add, but after reading the reviews, I agree that this is only for the novel but not the translator since the translator definitely did a wonderful job. They not only translating it but make us understand what we need to understand. So good job! <<less

One comment: you should never have that kind of epilogue unless its a quick transmigration and you're meeting on the other side

it freaking broke my heart

This is the first time I’ve written a review because I’m so disappointed as of chapter 52. All the other reviews have it right btw. I was honestly fine with the one-dimensional fluff, no big deal. But the twist at the end left such a bad taste in my mouth and managed to be completely cliche and also totally out of place. In my opinion, if you just want a basically meaningless fluffy romance, read up to ~45 I forget the exact chapter. Translator is great though!

It had a good premis and started out good. But in the middle after kidnapping plot, it goes downhill. It's just boring me to death. I skimmed almost all and then it's the end of the chapter.

The rest of the star mainly for the translator who did a good job!

The novel was pretty light and just what I needed in my life right now, something not too heavy. It was honestly just a breathe of fresh air after all the dramatic novels that I've read. The ending left me feeling bittersweet but still made me smile. I recommend this to people who are looking for a light read and a story without too much drama.

Honestly, I skimmed almost all the chapters because the story was so boring. The only reason I was willing to finish it was because I just wanted to know how it ended. I really don't like the ML, he's terrible, selfish, manipulative and possessive, but mostly he's a coward. As for the MC, I have nothing to say for her because most of her life is the result of the ML's manipulation, so IMO she doesn't have any strong characters that really influence the plot.

I also feel that their love... more>> feelings are not really sincere, there is no strong chemistry between the two. There are also too many plot holes here and there. I am truly confused about what the author was thinking when they finished it, didn't they feel they left too many parts that needed more explanation?

However, this is just my opinion, I can't say I wouldn't recommend it because everyone has a different opinion and taste. I'm just going to say that this story isn't my cup of tea, and I won't be rereading it even if it's just for free time. Lastly, I gave three stars mostly because the translator did a great job. <<less

overall its a passable read, unlike other readers I enjoyed his possessiveness nd love cause I think he knew her for a long time nd the extend of his behaviour is overwhelming but u can say that its he lost her the first time after he came to love her in one of his life. My theory or was underatood and came to a conclusion is that he is lyk a person with a system who transmirgates into books nd got into one book for his mission nd met her... more>> nd fell in love for real but she died but she (su jin) who died transmirgated into another book and in that book he was there for his mission nd after seeing her he made it his last missionn becoz he dint want to go into anymore books (or reincarated into another person nd life) without her. They fell in love nd all cutesy cutesy. I was a bit sad coz suddenly oafter his bday it was them as super old. And I think she is the one who couldn't conceive or ig she is having low conceivable rate so in order for her to not feel guilty and sad he asked the system to exchange the remaining of his last pts to make him infertile but im not exactly sure if thats wat happened also coz why is he making himself infertile when he could ve asked for a fertility pill for the system for her. This is a cute light read but im prolly never gonna ever read this again the old age part kinda made my mood depressed honestly, oh well we all will die one day. <<less

Omg!! It was perfect! I'm not overreacting, the start of the novel was wholesome and fluffy, going ahead the story explains the reason why the FL is so guarded and why the ML is so mad in love with her. The ML's secret which was revealed in final chapters was an unexpected turn and it made the story all the more interesting. His love and loyalty for FL in all those years was heartwarming.❤️❤️❤️

The final ending/epilogue of the novel made me shed tears, idk if they were tears of sadness... more>> seeing the ending or joy that they lived peacefully till the end.

Overall, although the chapters were only 59 it was wholesome and worth a read. <<less

The premise was interesting, and the beginning was interesting.

I liked that she had a good relationship with her sister and her family, even though she was technically the "fake" daughter, her family loved her the same. What was just a bit unbelievable was that they seem to love their bio daughter equally, even though they have just met her. Like there is no awkwardness or any friction between them whatsoever. It seems a bit fake, but a lot better than those s*upid family dramas that you usually read in typical... more>> C novels.

The translation was great. Top quality.

The characters... bland. MC and ML were boring AF. They were too perfect, and if I had to pick at a flaw, I would say that they are too indifferent. They had no chemistry. The side characters... equally bland and boring. They are literally all the same people with different names.

The plot... bland. The ending where it was revealed
Spoiler

that the ML was a task taker and was directly manipulating the plot really makes no sense. It's like the author did her own thing for the majority of the novel and then realise, oh wait, I have to tie these all together... I'll just use this bland and blanket explanation to justify it. Like it was revealed ML was a skilled hacker in the beginning and was forgotten after it was introduced.

[collapse]

And would a C-novel be a C-novel without at least at least 1 extra dramatic event? This extra bland novel somehow managed to include 1 kidnapping and 1 car accident, and it was still as bland as unflavoured oatmeal.

Bland. <<less

FINALLY, I found a book where one of the switched-at-birth girls isn't antagonised. The original rich lady doesn't hold any contempt for the MC, who lived a life of luxury in her place.

she also felt the MC was a bit pitiful; because she had two doting adoptive parents who could at the very least cater her needs and shower in affection and could also meet her biological parents after her adoptive parents' death, but the MC would never be able to meet her biological family.

2nd read on Apr 2024: 3.5 stars

The plot is very straightforward. Everything happens just as how you expect it to happen. I was really disappointed when the plot twist occurred. It's like there was a momentary switch in genre which imo is a lazy plot design. The author wasn't creative at all during that part. Overall, it's a pretty bland and generic love story.

First read review: It's a good read and the chapters are few. There is little to no conflict in this story. It's a very light read novel. The love of the MC and ML are very strong. The ending is satisfying. I think there are no plot holes. I gave 4 instead of 5 stars because the novel does not evoke much emotions because as I've said, it's truly very light.

While reading the beginning few chapters I felt as if I've read this before.... Maybe I've read a novel with a similar plot.

The plot wasn't too bad. I liked it. Very sweet!

The reason I’m giving this a solid 5 is because I’m very satisfied by the whole story. The plot didn’t deviate and the story wasn’t dragged, in my opinion it needed more fluff so we can just die from diabetes.

Legit, highly recommend this. For a chinese novel, this story actually makes sense. The logic that surrounds it covers all the plot holes.

I get it, it seems like it’s not love but I know how it feels to always have your guard up like Su jin. A face won’t make me... more>> love you nor does actions. I’m indifferent to love to say the least. Whoever come may come but they have to earn my trust. I always place a barrier between people and my heart. I know this and yet still do it subconsciously.

Honestly, if I find a man like that, that trust me and love me, then I’m ready to settle down. Like I said indifferent to love. I may never find love but being comfortable with someone for the rest of your life is a chance hard to pass.

Spoiler

I noticed how the side characters weren’t as flesh out as most chinese novel, they feel kind of 2 dimensional. Not really believable. But by the end when you realize that this was a story, you get why they weren’t as flesh out.

Luxi is basically a god in this world, being able to change almost anything if it’s within his points. In real life you aren’t gonna be able to do that, you can’t change a person’s love nor heal injuries fast.

The characters are 2D because it’s a story, they where meant to be that way, kinda like a filler or context to the situation. No one is real and by the end, the world of that story ends when the two of them dies.

5/5 rating is for the translation. I also enjoyed the little notes of references.
The plot is perfect. But the whole ending just made me regret I read the ending. When it ML revealed the reason why that world exist, I just want to yeet myself. In this story, even if they do grew old together, and died, I don't think there will a much happier ending.

The story was nice. It was flowing really well, then car crash happens.

It feels anti-climactic, when your love only deepened because you were saved, even with her realization, it feels like gratitude than love was building up. I thought ML would break mc's wall within the filming, watching, then the aftermath of it. Never would've expected that all of it was thrown and the story just goes s*upid.

Even though it was already expected that both are transmigrators early on, still presenting it on after the car crash and the reserved... more>> become lovesick, it became a fluffy yet flowing story, to a rushed and forced love story. <<less

What can I say aside from this is just sweet, fluffy, smooth sailing romance story.

Our two leads are two people who had feelings for each other but didn't have a fate together in their original lives. However, fate was still kind to them to give them a second chance. I honestly felt the MC so much, I can truly relate to her because I am somewhat similar to her character though the difference is I am nowhere near visually attractive like her and I never had my Lu Xi (yet?).... more>> Lu Xi side of the story was very touching though that
Spoiler

system thing just came out of nowhere and it kinda baffled me and somehow felt off from the plot but hey, other than that the plot was good

I love how you can feel Lu Xi slowly melting Su Jin's heart (tho he did have his yandere-esque moments lol).

This is really good for a fluffy quick read. <<less

A good book overall. Not your typical domineering male lead that kisses the female lead in every chapter. And the story focused more on their own relationship instead of various love competitors. Translator was amazing.
Spoiler

Ending was so so sad. The couple grew old together but never had any children since ML had issues with reproduction. In the end, FL was telling ML of where his clothes were and etc. Then, after telling him all these, she died in his arms. I DIDN'T EXPECT THIS : (

FLUFFY! Good pacing and relatable characters. Although the sudden appearance of the 'system' near the end confused me a bit, the story had a good plot. I love how one tracked the ML is, especially in pursing the FL. The ending made my heart twitch but the author did some service before it so I guess it could be forgiven. All in all, this was a good read intended for people in need of some light romance in their day.",)

First, thank you for the translator for the hard work cuz the translations for this novel is great. However, the novel is not that great. I binge read it and literally forget about the plot the very next day.

The novel has no growth progression in neither the plot nor the characters. Tbh, I even dislike the MC, Sujin, cuz I read this novel after I read Hello, Wife! Novel.

After reading this novel, I can't help but compared this to Hello, Wife! Cuz both have similar plot line. Godly skilled ML... more>> who is madly in love and chase after the indifferent-to-love MC. But the MC in this novel is a flop

Unlike smart and independent but indifferent MC in Hello, Wife! Or any other great novel, the MC in this novel is what you would call heartless. She is independent and indifferent simply because she is heartless due to her backstory even the backstory should've not made her that heartless. She doesn't bother to make the effort to make herself out of that lonely life and have the passion to make life more meaningful. The MC in Hello, Wife! Is over independent but she gave herself the chance to be in love or for others to love her eventho thay person is a scumbag.

In the end, Sujin wasn't the one that decided to jump onto the love boat but she was pushed to take the jump. Imagine if not for the accident, how long would it take for her to take the jump. She is just got swept up to ML's pace. There is no character growth at all on the MC part. <<less
