Extremely light-hearted slice-of-life novel with nothing happening.

There's no struggle other than the short explanation at the start where the original body owner was bullied. There's no conflict other than the past event of the mc's previous life. There's no conflict between the drama set casts and staffs. Everything is going smoothly without anything problems.

Basically nothing is really happening, other than the well pacing of the novel. This does give me a small hope that the novel can get better.

At the moment, the novel is really a 3.5 for me currently,... more>> but we will have to see how the novel progress. <<less

Oh, I am loving this novel. I was searching for some acting korean novel. And I am so glad I didn't skip it.

Unlike the usual trope where the MC is usually cold hearted because he has suffered so much he is getting along with his family really well. And I love the fact that he can finally pursue the dream of his past life. Seems like there is some mystery regarding his past life and he was mu*dered for the greater good. I also love the small details like how... more>> he had broken rules to get the roles of extras in movies and lived seeing himself on the screen even if it is for a fleeting moment. <<less

It's not bad. The ILC Translation is pretty good, with few errors, so many thanks to them.

What I like: Slice of Life, happy times, making friends, several potential love-interests.

What I dislike: Petty conflict, little romantic progress, vague supernatural mystery elements that don't pique my interest.

Spoiler

While they may pay off eventually, all the scenes with the investigator who has dreams just drag on, with no indication of if/when they'll ever come to fruition.

Maybe some people are looking for that kind of plot because of the MC's past as an agent including it in the title, but I honestly found the whole related mystery sub-plot about bringing closure to his past life to be a distraction from the main activity in entertainment.

There is not enough detail or suspense in it to feel particularly engaging, so I think it would have been better to just leave it at "he used to be an agent so he's good at acting now" instead of trying to... more>> mix in agent activities in his new life.

Maybe the conclusion of that plot will justify some of it, but the pace is very slow, so that conclusion is still far in the future at this point.

As for the acting activities, while most such novels have a flawless genius MC, I think that having zero setbacks and additionally also having a cheat appearance that is entirely unrelated to his abilities as an actor makes the story less interesting than it could have been.

There could have been more struggles to get significant roles, more power struggles between actors and agencies, or a larger focus on the transition from acting out fake identities to individuals to acting for various media, with a more detailed mentorship, but none of that happens and the MC just gets everything right on the first try. He does put in some effort in preparation, but that is usually just summarised without significant details or struggles.

Like in some other novels about acting, the scripts of the fictional works inside the novel have a more interesting and engaging plot than the novel itself, but even that is dampened by the fact that they're often told as fragments with large overlaps to the point of being repetitive (e.g. Once while filming and once as part of the completed film).

All in all it's decent and has been somewhat enjoyable, but definitely no masterpiece. <<less
