A popular Sword and Magics VRMMO that countless livestreamers play, 「Dragon’s Krone」. Of the many streamers, the No. 1 most viewed player, Edogawa Ran, is so popular that he is even sponsored by a major corporation. But in real life, Ran had zero friends; a lonely highschool boy who had trouble talking to people.

Then, on a day like any other, as Ran was spending his lunch break bitterly alone, someone approached him. The girl who he adored, Ninomiya Suzu, casually walked up and said the words.

「Would you like to play Dragon’s Krone together?」

Using a LV 1 character, with his previous knowledge and techniques, he is unmatched in this virtual reality world. The struggles (in order to become a Riajuu) of a certain livestreamer.

Let's not talk about the main character which is obviously flawless as a main character he is. Let's talk about everything else.

First, game design. Who the hell designs a game where player ID is hidden? This is the very first thing that should be public. I mean, the game allows multiple characters on one account and allows characters with super generic name like USA and Edgar created far late into the game. Second, if the game is so popular, why the hell there is only one person (our MC, obviously)... more>> who knows about skill canceling? Skill canceling is the basic of the basics for high-level questing. And then there is only one person (again, our MC) who can perform the rather simple skill canceling combo. His combo is simply connecting 3 different skills by skill canceling, it won't be difficult to replicate at all, either by practice or by accident. In chapter 25 MC can even slow down his activation, mean the skill canceling window is quite lax. Let me tell you about how skill canceling works in PSO2. Jump cancel Ilbarta: first you uses uncharged Ilbarta, then before its animation ends, you press the jump button, and BEFORE you can even jump, use another uncharged Ilbarta, repeat for another 4 times, then finish with the charged 7th cast of Ilbarta. Let's not talk about Banish Arrow + jump cancel Ilbarta combo, you would end up throwing your keyboard away. And people have been doing this combo for years without macro. What, VR stuff is different from mouse&keyboard?? There will be real martial artists in the game anyway (since, duh, the game is extremely popular), and they surely has better reflex than a flimsy high school student.

Third, balance. In the prologue, MC soloes the strongest boss in the game within several paragraphs and no time skip and/or anything that indicates the fight is a repeat of the same movements. The boss doesn't have "rage mode" either. You know, to solo a boss in a short amount of time, you need more than just skill build and equipments, you need to exploit mechanics too. Which doesn't exist here. And the skill Tsubame-Gaeshi is too broken. Instantly appear behind opponent, no cooldown (in this game nothing has cooldown but it's okay). In VR games where you can't see behind like the real world, only short-animation 360° AoE skills, which I hope exist, can counter that. Rather than Moon Step or whatever, people could just spamming this over and over. It reminds me of Log Horizon with the MC's broken 11-second-bind-15-second-cooldown-work-on-both-bosses-and-players skill.

The gamer in me screams too much that I have to rate this 3. <<less

Review at Chapter 9.

So far interesting. MC is an OP VRMMO player, having an 'impossible' combo attack that is practically impossible to beat, even at level 1. But his heart is like that of a maiden pure, ufu~

Really, kind of interesting, rather than a super cool MC on the inside and outside, the MC only pulls off cool when facing with things he understood, like raid system, monster hate management, PvP tactics, etc. On the outside, he's mentally half-declaring that he is going to abandon real and just be a... more>> loner only to scream on the inside 'invite me, invite me' when hearing about his classmate wanting to join a Raid event. And the writing does acknowledge that particular inconsistency from the MC, thus that maiden heart thing. :D

Currently I am suspicious that there would be a cliche that Suzu is later revealed to be the 2nd highest ranked player, but we'll see how the story goes. <<less

Not that bad, but not that great either.

It has a lot if potentials, but there are also a lot of things that left unexplained. And unfortunately, that unexplained things are including the game system which is supposed to be used to measure the balance of this world (game). And if we don't know whether it balanced or not, we won't know that what MC did was actually a 'great', 'normal', 'bad' or even 'impossible' feats.

Unexpectedly good. Really fun to read, no boring at all. I was a bit reluctant to read a novel with the VRMMORPG tag since Ark and The Moonlight Sculptor ('cause the stories became hard to follow), but I'm happy to have started reading this novel.

Really something we don't often find on NU. I encourage everyone to at least take a look at the first chapters to get the idea.

MC is a pro gamer, but IRL he's like another person.

Just a simple story about a boy who's good at playing a game, and then created a new character to play with his friends. Will update review when the meat of the story is fleshed out, but so far it's just like playing a game so nothing special.

Can't give an accurate rating but I tend to be more generous on stars because of the number of trolls on star ratings.

Generic. Not a bad story to read, but it's nothing outstanding. Main character is rather off in his switches between personalities, between super awkward and smooth. Rather, even with the explanation of his knowledge of the game, the switch feels strange still even.

This is a really solid series. I just started reading it, but I like it a lot. It's much better than expected. I'm only a few chapters in, but the MC is interesting and seemingly likable. I recommend this series to people looking for something fresh and different to read. The translation is also top quality. :D

This is one of the most middle of the road VR stories i've read lately; being neither good or bad but instead rather generic. There's not really anything that makes it stand out one way or the other. The story isn't good enough to be addictive nor bad enough to get angry or worked up over; if anything, it left me feeling so indifferent about it that I'm lacking in motivation to continue. Maybe i'll try it again at a later date.

Its a pretty well made story, the game design is quite confusing. I just wanted to point out that though some of the game elements aren't well explained they are still described and some people are saying how skill cancelling is actually easy to do and is common sense, it was mentioned that the skill canceling window for the game was available for just a few milliseconds and their names are only hidden in streams which actually helps their privacy. All in all its a very well made story, and... more>> I can tell because its not the first story with game elements incorporated in it that I've read.

Waiting for future updates with high hopes~ <<less
