The child has bright eyes, chiseled features, and prideful demeanor. He referred to himself as “this prince” and his mannerism was wild, cool, and stuck up.
“This prince will never eat such lowly food!”
“How dare you flirt with other men behind the back of my imperial father?”
“He insulted this prince and you sided with him? This prince will sentence his entire clan to death!”
Song Yuan was very disturbed. The DNA test had confirmed that the child was, indeed, her son, but why did he act like he was delusional?
More importantly, who was the father of the child?
The prince was going mad from worrying; Imperial Father, if you don’t come soon, Imperial Mother is really going to cheat on you!

Yeah, he "was the emperor and had to do blah blah blah". Which is fair, but how does that justify the FL being coerced back into a relationship with him? She went to a whole new world to get away from him, and his scummy stinky self can't let her go? Go back home with your politics and concubines and let her raise her son by herself.

- Son: The most precious child! Some people say that he is too mature for his age. And it's true. But if he wasn't that mature, the story wouldn't probably worked out. At first I was irked by it but I'm glad I persisted. There are few moments when Rong Ting displayed his childish self and it's all heartwarming. Towards the end, I kept on wishing for a good ending for Rong Ting and I think that it is a good ending.
All the characters are not perfect. They have their flaws and weaknesses. But I like them that way. The story wouldn't work out if they don't have this. Some readers want to read about perfect characters with perfect life. And it's alright. But as you grow up, you realize and experience that there are different types of happiness and love in the world. My sentiments:The FL and ML have realistic love. Maybe I like them cause I can see myself in them. What I like is for the most part, they knew that their feelings for one another are sincere. For other people, happiness is staying together. But I think, it is also being happy for the life choices of each other.
The FL chose her modern life instead of coming back to the past with ML and their son. Others blame her, but if she did went, then what? She would be sad like what happened in the past. And if that happened again, both the ML and the son will not be happy too. I think in the end, the FL benefitted the most in this story. Maybe she also deserves it. Because of the traumatic experiences she had in ancient times which weighed on her. Since she had it better, she will definitely be a mom that Rong Ting deserves in the future. She knows his sacrifices and will often think about how she isn't a good mom, which I think most parents always dwell about.
The ML also chose to head back to his duties as an emperor. It was also reasonable because he was made to think that way. He is a responsible one who has ro bear the sacrifices of both his and FL's precious people. Although he didn't become an emperor he wanted to be, he did what he can. In the end, his love for the FL is greater. Some people blame him for letting Rong Ting be alone by heading back to the modern times and I also think that he is not a good father. But he tried his best in letting Rong Ting have a smooth sailing reign.
The Son also chose to head back because although he tried, be can't integrate with the modern world. Yes he is a child and has more adaptability, but he is also a very smart crown prince who has an ambition to be a good emperor. I just hope that the setting made him 10 years old. That way, maybe his ambitions and emotional intelligence are more well-founded. And the ML can probably leave him when he was 18 and make our heart feel more at ease. But in ancient times, 13 is also an adult so it should be fine.
In my thoughts, Rong Ting deserves better. But he got what he wanted which is the consolation. He became a great emperor as he wanted and came to choose to be his mother's child again when he fulfilled his ambition. In his next life, he won't have the burden as a crown prince and because he already fulfilled it, he won't have regrets. Even if he doesn't remember it, in his heart, he won't have that blockage because his heart is fulfilled. I also like that he doesn't have the burden of a 60 year old emperor's memory. He can slowly adjust in modern life without big responsibilities and can integrate better. This is also a good ending that Rong Ting deserves.
I hope they can live like a normal family in the end. This time, as the FL and ML are more mature to be parents, they can take better care of Rong Ting. And they would. Because they know how it feels to be without the others.
i like the fl. She's very average and her reactions are understandable to an extent. i dislike the ML but I also understand that in order to survive as the emperor one must know how to scheme but yeah, still hate him. wished she just stayed a single mom while the two just raise the child like divorced parents do. i like how the grandpa is a bad husband but a good father. Too many cnovels just go with black and white approach in characters. the plot is a fresh take as well! I like reading a new twist in a popular trope bc once you've read 5 transmigration novels you've read most transmigration novels. However, the ML definitely dragged down the quality of the story. he was just kind of generic and annoying. I wished he didn't crossover. And honestly, he just doesn't fit well with the fl. i also feel sad for the kid that he thought that it was his job to fix his parent's relationship. people said he was redeemed. To some extent he did. But went on a just screwed it up by
leaving his kid to be with FL in the modern era. And yeah he let him grow for a bit but he was clearly still young.
