Song Yuan accidentally picked up a 5-year-old child.

The child has bright eyes, chiseled features, and prideful demeanor. He referred to himself as “this prince” and his mannerism was wild, cool, and stuck up.

“This prince will never eat such lowly food!”

“How dare you flirt with other men behind the back of my imperial father?”

“He insulted this prince and you sided with him? This prince will sentence his entire clan to death!”

Song Yuan was very disturbed. The DNA test had confirmed that the child was, indeed, her son, but why did he act like he was delusional?

More importantly, who was the father of the child?

The prince was going mad from worrying; Imperial Father, if you don’t come soon, Imperial Mother is really going to cheat on you!

This novel is soooo good! I love the MC and her son, her son has to be the cutest child I've ever find in Chinese Novels, I guarantee it. I usually found MC's children to be either mildly cute, hilarious, or straight up annoying. But this one stole my heart. If I have to rate every child of MC in other CN novels, they'll get roughly 5/10 but he's 10/10! He's so cute, mature, and think of his mother first before anything else. He always assured his mother that what... more>> he wanted the most ultimately was not a complete re-unification of their family, but her mother's happiness.

The translation was decent too. There are some stumbles here and there with the background but it might be just me.

The MC too, although she was confused with the whole transmigration of her son, she still took care of him the best way she could. Some child-rearing novels with businesswoman MC usually had a feeling of somewhat neglected children even though the supposed main focus was child-rearing. But this didn't feel so. I would rate it 5/5 but

I hate the ML. Really. Hate. Him. What did he do to deserve MC and Rong Ting (The cute prince) ??? I'll list his bad traits

Spoiler

1. He forced the MC to marry him in the ancient time. The context of this was, he used to cover up his real identity and interact with the transmigrated MC and her adoptive brother (The MC was bodily transmigrated, not only just her soul). The MC fell for him and told him that she won't mind marrying him, but on the pretext that he was only a common person. He used an edict to force her to marry him. They fight a lot because of this.

2. He's an obsessive a**hole. Yandere. Manipulative. And truly, mentally abusive.

3. He found out that MC's adoptive brother had a feeling for MC. This is before MC married him and before he revealed his real identity to the two brother-sister. And he's strongly against it.

4. It was strongly implied that he forcefully send Meng Qingrong (MC's adoptive brother in the ancient time) to war just for the sake of getting him away from her. They fight a lot because of this too.

5. When MC cried for her brother's obviously unwilling departure (the brother covered up and saying that fighting for the country was his dream despite his declining family already intended to lay low and didn't want to get involved anymore after his father's injury), the bstrd held her against her will and told her that he didn't like it when she worries for someone else but him. If that is not mentally abusive, I don't know what is.

Srsly, he through and through a fcking creep, stalker, and manipulative abuser in my eyes. But so far in the story, there's no good man at all. I hate the stalkerish pushy upperclassman too. Damn it all.

[collapse]

My 4-stars is solely because of that pos. But the author really wrote this novel nicely, she gave the insight of what was wrong and what was right. But the ML was really a hard sell, I don't know what the author would do to force them back together, but I honestly cannot forgive the a-hole. An innocent person died because of his obsession with the MC, he's dangerous and I don't like him in general. Why can't we find a new father for the precious dumpling? <<less

This was really interesting. This novel is unlike others with cliche after cliche.

This is a refreshing read. The MCs are the FL and her child. They are so cute. Neither the FL nor the ML are a Mary Sue.

I passionately hated the ML the entire read and begrudingly accepted him towards the end. It didn't make this an awful novel though. I don't feel as if the author or FL let him live it off? It doesn't feel like he was redeemed. Even at the very end where they end... more>> up together, his misgiving aren't brushed off. Rather, the FL has an understanding of the way he is. By no means does it feel like she idolises him.

Truthfully, this novel isn't about romance at all. It's a novel about family and perhaps about overcoming the past. All the fluff is from the FL and her child's relationship. They have good relationships with the FLs parents. Its sweet and endearing and there is a happy ending to this! Even though it feels like there can't possibly be one while you're reading it.

I've really enjoyed this. It's a reverse isekai which is so fun and the plot is interesting. I think I will really remember this mother child relationship well. <<less

Honestly, the novel was better without the ML.
Spoiler

Yeah, he "was the emperor and had to do blah blah blah". Which is fair, but how does that justify the FL being coerced back into a relationship with him? She went to a whole new world to get away from him, and his scummy stinky self can't let her go? Go back home with your politics and concubines and let her raise her son by herself.

[collapse]

CN novels really can't let woman just be themselves without romantic involvement as a main character huh? Her romance made her a worse parent and the relationship didn't have anything besides guilt and obsession.

A very interesting take on a romance story. While most romance novels would write fluffyness or love conquers all. This is different and shows us love from a very modern perpective. Love isnt perfect. Sometimes it is better to let go when it is time to let go. And sometimes, love isn't enough to be with someone.

Our MC is a modern woman while ML and son are traditional. There is a selfish side of her, like most of us do and tbh there is nothing with valuing your own happiness,... more>> not compromising on your standards. She liked the ML but she has never agreed and wanted to be an empress. This was a marriage by force since an emperor cannot be refused. I can't blame her for running away after all the pain she has been through. She knows she can never adjust to the norms of the past and will never be happy there. Now that she is in modern times, she will refuse what she when she wants to refuse. She values her happiness (even if this happiness is just the internet and applying her own skin care routine... jk she values her own freedom) and will not compromise on things she can compromise. She isn't smart and is very easily decieved. She hates being lied to. It is very easy to relate with her character.

The ML is a scummy emperor. But note that he values his responsibility as an emperor more than himself. His character isn't likable at all. He is manipulative and an obsessed cunning narcissist. But it is realistic, because he is the emperor in the traditional times. His values are just different. After transmigating in modern times, he slowly sees and understands the FC's perspective. There is some character development on his end, but it will take a while...

The son is cute but too smart for his age. His interactions and monolouges and interesting and cute. He loves both of his parents and is sensible enough to understand at a very young age. <<less

Well-written and sophisticated.

If you're here for the fluff, this isn't for you. This is angst and I cried chapters near the end. It's totally josei. It's bittersweet which I used to dislike. Now that I'm 22 and has experienced partings, I came to appreciate this novel.

Read with an open-mind and consider where the characters are coming from while reading. This isn't a wish fulfillment forgettable sort of novel. It was made to be remembered and learn from.

What I love about the characters:

    • FL and ML: Level-headed and rational. Both are not blinded by love when making decisions. Both showed character growth. I saw the transition on how the FL became an ordinary graduate who lacks sense to a mother who prioritizes her son's wishes. The ML and FL doesn't want to force their wishes to the other and very much respects their son's decisions. I think this made me respect them.
    • Son: The most precious child! Some people say that he is too mature for his age. And it's true. But if he wasn't that mature, the story wouldn't probably worked out. At first I was irked by it but I'm glad I persisted. There are few moments when Rong Ting displayed his childish self and it's all heartwarming. Towards the end, I kept on wishing for a good ending for Rong Ting and I think that it is a good ending.
All the characters are not perfect. They have their flaws and weaknesses. But I like them that way. The story wouldn't work out if they don't have this. Some readers want to read about perfect characters with perfect life. And it's alright. But as you grow up, you realize and experience that there are different types of happiness and love in the world.

My sentiments:

Spoiler

The FL and ML have realistic love. Maybe I like them cause I can see myself in them. What I like is for the most part, they knew that their feelings for one another are sincere. For other people, happiness is staying together. But I think, it is also being happy for the life choices of each other.

The FL chose her modern life instead of coming back to the past with ML and their son. Others blame her, but if she did went, then what? She would be sad like what happened in the past. And if that happened again, both the ML and the son will not be happy too. I think in the end, the FL benefitted the most in this story. Maybe she also deserves it. Because of the traumatic experiences she had in ancient times which weighed on her. Since she had it better, she will definitely be a mom that Rong Ting deserves in the future. She knows his sacrifices and will often think about how she isn't a good mom, which I think most parents always dwell about.

The ML also chose to head back to his duties as an emperor. It was also reasonable because he was made to think that way. He is a responsible one who has ro bear the sacrifices of both his and FL's precious people. Although he didn't become an emperor he wanted to be, he did what he can. In the end, his love for the FL is greater. Some people blame him for letting Rong Ting be alone by heading back to the modern times and I also think that he is not a good father. But he tried his best in letting Rong Ting have a smooth sailing reign.

The Son also chose to head back because although he tried, be can't integrate with the modern world. Yes he is a child and has more adaptability, but he is also a very smart crown prince who has an ambition to be a good emperor. I just hope that the setting made him 10 years old. That way, maybe his ambitions and emotional intelligence are more well-founded. And the ML can probably leave him when he was 18 and make our heart feel more at ease. But in ancient times, 13 is also an adult so it should be fine.

In my thoughts, Rong Ting deserves better. But he got what he wanted which is the consolation. He became a great emperor as he wanted and came to choose to be his mother's child again when he fulfilled his ambition. In his next life, he won't have the burden as a crown prince and because he already fulfilled it, he won't have regrets. Even if he doesn't remember it, in his heart, he won't have that blockage because his heart is fulfilled. I also like that he doesn't have the burden of a 60 year old emperor's memory. He can slowly adjust in modern life without big responsibilities and can integrate better. This is also a good ending that Rong Ting deserves.

I hope they can live like a normal family in the end. This time, as the FL and ML are more mature to be parents, they can take better care of Rong Ting. And they would. Because they know how it feels to be without the others.

[collapse]

I like how the side characters have roles to play. They are also not dumb. There are no cheaply executed love rivals.

In fact, there is no "villain" in this novel. The villain is their circumstances. And life is also lile that. There are a lot of inevitables.

The ending has a bit of open ending vibe. In my head, the main characters are still not perfect. But they will value how they are all together and it will allow them to face future challenges.

Other people doesn't like the ending, but I love it very much. The first ending seemed poetic to me and the last extra is what can be considered happy ending. There is a plot and a lot of foreshadowing which I always appreciate. It feels like the Author really dedicated a lot of time thinking about the novel. Thank you! I think this is the Author's best work so far. This is also the type of story I want to write in the future.

Uhm, I give this 3.5 stars rating. I don't like this type of ML. He basically deceive her in both timeline. I feel really sorry for their kid. I just want this story to be about MC and her kid, without ML on sight

NOT THE TYPICAL TRANSMIGRATION STORY

While I tend to read these novels for fantasy, romance and adventure, I really appreciated what was a more surprisingly realistic exploration of love in this one. This isn't one of those over-the-top romances where the characters unrealistically cling to each other despite dishonesty or cultural dissonance. Both the ML & FL are flawed characters, but each learns and grows more centered over the course of the story. The progression of their relationship reflects the idea that those things and people that are most precious in... more>> our lives require effort and compromise to sustain; that honoring the other's preferences is more important than satisfying our own needs.

I tend to always want a HEA--I refuse to read tragedies anymore because they suck as an escape. But I was ok with this sort of bittersweet, with hard work the relationship ultimately becomes better, sort of conclusion. <<less

Very glad that I decided to give this a chance. I really liked the MC and the ML. The little bun was of course everyone's favorite. The ML is a real 3D character and although not the most likeable but the author makes you feel that he is a real flesh and blood man with his own troubles and circumstances (the kind that actually make sense).

The ending was a tearjerker but the extras more than made up for it and made me smile again. It is a HE.

I really really reallyyyy enjoyed this novel 10/10 would recommend. Great romance, amazing character development and tons of mother-child interaction! This is truly a heartwarming journey between a pair of mother and son who were unwillingly separated and a deeply in love couple who grew distant due to their ideals slowly learning about each other again.

The plot was so unexpected and the author developed the story really well. Think slow burn past relationship (angst but not too heavy) mix with light hearted childcare and slice of life story.

This is a... more>> story of how a modern woman lost her memory of her transmigration journey through historical time only to meet her son from that time and coming to love him irregardless. She will meet the emperor (the father of her child) and recover her memory. The story follows her journey through understanding her relationship with her "ex" spouse and both of them learning to let go. The way the author depicted their relationship was honestly really realistic and what one would actually except in reality. I understand where both of them were coming from and how their upbringing could factor in to the decisions they make and also how it led to them having a falling out. I see all these reviewers saying that they hate the male lead but you have to think from his perspective too. I felt that the author very clearly outlined his views and the MC's views and also later their new understanding of each other views without the pressure of their identities behind them. Below are my thoughts about why I enjoyed both the ML and FL characters. It's a bit lengthy and contains spoilers but if you're skeptical about reading the novel because people be hating on the ML go ahead and go through my thoughts. Otherwise skip it because it's hella long.

Spoiler

To start off, when they first met in ancient time, the MC didn't know that he was the Crown Prince. He was on the other hand was accessing what benefits she could give him and wanted to marry her to gain the support of the General's mansion. Later on, she and him truly fell into deep passionate love, with her expecting a simple life with white picket fences and with him wanting to give her his everything and his everything meant not wronging her (by simply giving her a title of a concubine because her identity as the General mansion's adopted daughter was honestly only worth all that) and giving her the most honourable title for woman of the era, the empress. He sent down an imperial edict to crown her as his empress and (if I've not mistaken) to surprise her with his identity. For me, I feel like he felt that it was giving her a lot of face/ honour to bestow her this title this way and also it would be a pleasant surprise because hey you were expecting a poor scholar but I'm actually the emperor of the nation! In a place where power was everything, to him it probably felt like it was what every woman would be happy with. Obviously, as a modern woman, it was the most terrifying thing ever! She could not handle being caged in the palace with no freedom whatsoever nor did she want to tolerant the harem with a thousand beauties. But most importantly, she has deep rooted fears. From what we all learnt in histories, an emperor is supreme power in historical eras. If one offends them, few could intervene and one could implicate themselves and their loved ones. So although she loved him, she lived in fear that she may do something wrong which may lead to her implicating herself or worst yet, if he didn't want to harm her, he may take it out on her adapted family.

There was another part where it was mentioned that the ML sent her adopted brother (whom the ML later found out was actually in love with the MC but this was when they were in the midst of their 'peasant' relationship) out to the frontlines to lead troops, which devastated the MC who dearly loved her brother. Some reviews said that he was petty and did it out of spite. But actually, the author very clearly revealed that it was done because the the adopted brother was the most suitable person to do the job. The MC also understood this fact and later came to accept it. She also understood that her brother would have taken up this task not just because he wanted to secure her position in the harem but because to him it was in his blood and was his honour to fight for his motherland and nation that he loves.
Other reviewers said that they hated the ML for being manipulative and deceitful and for being such a yandere. I have nothing to say about the yandere thing but for the others, well you have to take upbringing into account. The ML revealed his past and how he grew up which led to him being a manipulative and scheming person to survive and thrive as an emperor. The MC in the other hand had a father who cheated and lied to her saying that he was busy with work but was actually going out and about with his mistress which led to her hating liars. From their fundamental world views, they were doomed to fail. Later on, when the ML transmigrated to modern times, he lied about having amnesia. This is also perfectly understandable, though it may not have been the best move but to him it was the only move he could make. He knew that he hurt her to the point of her leaving so he wanted her and him to have a fresh start when he found out that she had lost her memories. What else could be have done? Tell her that he was a shithead and he hurt her but hey since I came all the way here forgive me and let's live our happily ever after? He couldn't do that, because she would definitely ask about their past and if he told her the truth she would definitely avoid him or worst yet, if he told her lies, if she ever regained her memories, it would have been worst. He was coming from a place of fear (that it would fail before it even started), so, he decided to pretend he did not know so that when the truth comes to light he can say hey don't blame me I forgot too but oppsie his son ruined his "good thing".
I think the author depicted the MC as too accepting of his lies and actions which made reviewers hate the ML. She didn't get angry nor did she cry or "act hurt" so readers probably felt that she was to floor matty and it's all the ML's fault. But I honestly feel that she acted this way because she had had time to think things through from a matured perspective and come to understand where he was coming from and that it was fault on both ends yet not their faults too that had resulted in their relationship deteriorating. That's why I felt that the author did a really good job portraying their relationship. After she regained her memories, she was truly one of the most matured FL out there.

Some say that they don't like that they ended up together (in the extras). But I felt that it was all good! At their very end, they parted ways. He went back to his time to continue to rule his kingdom and she led her days knowing that she had truly lost the love of her life. From his perspective, he had already loved and lost and understood what he was losing. But for her, it was a new feeling knowing that you'll never see your believed soulmate again (because she lost her memories when she transmigrated back) and this was after she truly understood him and thought their relationship through. She also knew that he truly loved her and she him. So, it is understandable that when they met again, she gave him another chance. They started afresh without the pressure of him being the emperor and him always having to put her second and he gave her the white picket fences life that she was expecting. They didn't immediately get married but slowly (wells kimda) rekindled their affections.

[collapse]

I don't really go for there kind of stories (especially if the summary hinted that it was this kind), but I'm glad I picked this up.

The ending was perfect (to me) and the extras were the icing, candles and fruits on the cake! I loved loved loved it!

For those fearing it's an angsty romance, it's not. Just read it. The ending will truly satisfy you like none other! <<less

There are parts of the story that make me cry, there are parts that make me laugh, very emotional

I like that the characters in the story are not overpowered characters. But more human. A modern person who loves but can't adapt to the royal (ancient time), or a child who loves his mother

It's beautiful and heart warming

Light-angst (?)

It's light heart at first as MC suddenly get a 5 y/o child but later when the dogblood start to surface in the name of ML and her memory of the time she disappeared. But it's not that heavy cause there's a child in this story.

I rated this 5 stars for RongTing only

For other characters and their deed, I could never bother ಠ_ಠ

So I'm not putting in my rating point ¯\_ (ツ) _/¯

Spoiler

I kind of understand both MC and ML point of view, their action and their mind but (-_-メ) but when you see how MC live so comfortable in modern time and ancient time. Did she save the galaxy in her last life? ༎ຶ‿༎ຶ I'm jelly, super jelly. She didn't want to go back to ancient time I fear it mainly for how comfortable our era is with no one to supervise every of her actions, surely her love for son and lover will never equal for herself which is good for her. Not many transmigrated girls have that choice.

ML is really deserve to be the emperor, he's raised just right to be the commander of the nation. Emperor will always be the emperor first, what he want and what he likes comes later. But I'm still wondering why he like our MC 🤔 cause she's bold? Cause she's blunt? I'd rather he have considerate wife who can make him feel rest assure.

Nevermind it's fate anyway but I still think they both sacrifice too much just for their love story. Don't even mentioned how baby RongTing have to suffer through 5 years motherless and face difficulty just to see his mother once again and take the pain to be a ruler early just for his parent happiness. Wtf this baby deserve so much more, I wish entire world cherished his existence.

I'm glad RongTing is this super duper matured for his ages. Just imagine if he's just ordinary 5y/o boy how much pain he would experience. SongYuan can't even endure those 5 years in ancient time ಠಿ_ಠ

[collapse]

Kinda bias toward ML but MC is doing kind of alright. The pair just lack communication and their priorities aren't the same ¯\_༼ ಥ ‿ ಥ ༽_/¯ <<less

This story is actually quite heartwarming. These are the reality, especially when you loved and hurt before and of course the healing. Even though the initials plot is fantasy base, the relationship between the cp is more realistic. Love the prince bun, he’s actually acting like his age even though he’s sensible because of his crown prince way of growing up education, but he still a cute baby with his mom. (Where usually the bun are extremely intelligent or too sen ible and a wing man) If you are... more>> looking for fluffy romance, this not it. It’s more of how people who has gone through a storm from circumstance, loved and yet both ideals are different and separate when the time has come, later understand, and rediscover love again. Alright. How should I put it? I am in between saying that this is a light-hearted story and not. Afterall, if I say it's a lighthearted one, it is indeed one because there's really no schemes from other people (aside from Rong Heng's schemes to chase the beauty lol) and the story revolves around Song Yuan and Rong Ting's daily life (well, sometimes Rong Heng and Song Yuan's romance). However, RH and SY's love life is a bit complicated and heavy.

Spoiler

I really got teary-eyed when RH said that both of them regret meeting and falling in live with each other. And in another life time, they wish not to meet again.

[collapse]
It's just so heartbreaking because why wish for that instead of asking to be reincarnated as someone ordinary?

Also, I really cried when
Spoiler

RH and RY need to go back in ancient times. I just felt that it's better to just stay together and be happy with each other. But I also understand their feelings though. They grew up in ancient times and haa a great responsibility so even if they want to be with SY, they can only go back. I just really feel helpless, yknow? I just want the three of them to be with each other

[collapse]

Ahh, I also want to mention that at the beginning, I really find the (I don't know what to call it. Is it an accent or dialect? Whatever). That ba, la, ah, ne kinda made it feel off but anyway, aa long as I ignore it, it doesn't affect the story at all.

Also, RH is indeed a different male lead. At first I thought he's like the typical possessive ML who will do anything to chase the FL, until he became clear headed. He said hell bow his head but not bend his knees for love. Indeed, that made him unique.
Spoiler

Still, it doesn't change the fact that he faked his death and schemed against his own son so that he can pass the throne to him and chase his wife lol

[collapse]

Anyway, a very good story with unique plot. This time, it wasn't the FL who transmigrated (at least not in the story's timeline) but rather it was the ML and their son who transmigrated to the modern world. 9/10!!! <<less

Omg, I didn't expect to cry on this one because I have read a lot of transmigration stories to the point that I only read them for past times and not really taking it by heart.

This is probably one of the rare/few novels I've read where the FL is not 100% devoted, obsessed, and so crazy in love with the male lead. She did love him and genuinely feel affection for him but tbh this novel highlighted her feelings as a mother more than a lover. And even if there... more>> was love between the main leads it was not written in details, except for the male lead. I even suspected that she might have moved on after the burn out but turns out it was because the priority in her heart was different. And I like that about this. It did left a little bittersweet feeling because a part of me wanted the main leads to be lovey-dovey and fluffy. Don't misunderstand, this is a HE.

As for the ML, I've read other reviews where they bash or hate on him. Some called him scum. Well, it's indeed scummy of him to lie repeatedly to the FL but just like what the FL said to the prince, there are all kinds of lies. I believe that in her heart, after calming down, she knew that the ML didn't have any malicious intentions. I think that readers should also consider the ML's position and the era he lived in the same way we all sympathize and share a lot of ideals with the FL who came from the modern times. He is the emperor, and he has a lot of burdens and responsibilities with him coupled with the environment he grew up in, he actually wasn't a scum man. People said that he was manipulative, and indeed he was. But think about it, which person doesn't want to appeal the good sides to someone he loves? Especially on his side that he knew how much he made her unhappy and wronged. Isn't it only natural to want to raise a few good points? Or want to make it up to her? In the first place, he knew that he wouldn't be able to keep up the act so even though he thought of wanting to have a new&clean start with her using that act, he knew he wouldn't be able to. Aren't you all too hard on him?

Anyway, I sound like an apologist but it's not like I like him very much. I've read other MLs who were much better than him but I still think people should cut him some slacks. Give him a little break.

Aside from these stuff, I freaking love the prince. He was my favorite in here and also the grandparents. The grandfather was especially entertaining to read. I enjoyed every mother-son moments and equally cried because of them.

Overall, I recommend reading this. It's not that this is unique and one of a kind in my opinion but that it was entertaining and a little refreshing. <<less

the story has cute moments with the child but that's kind of an easy thing to do with child raising stories.
i like the fl. She's very average and her reactions are understandable to an extent.

i dislike the ML but I also understand that in order to survive as the emperor one must know how to scheme but yeah, still hate him.

wished she just stayed a single mom while the two just raise the child like divorced parents do.

i like how the grandpa is a bad husband but a good... more>> father. Too many cnovels just go with black and white approach in characters.

the plot is a fresh take as well! I like reading a new twist in a popular trope bc once you've read 5 transmigration novels you've read most transmigration novels. However, the ML definitely dragged down the quality of the story.

he was just kind of generic and annoying. I wished he didn't crossover. And honestly, he just doesn't fit well with the fl.

i also feel sad for the kid that he thought that it was his job to fix his parent's relationship.

people said he was redeemed. To some extent he did. But went on a just screwed it up by

leaving his kid to be with FL in the modern era. And yeah he let him grow for a bit but he was clearly still young.

yeah, f*ck the ml. Cnovels really hate single women enjoying their lives huh. <<less

If you do not want a typical story of transmigration and romance where the protagonists meet, fall in love and marry then this is your novel, I liked the relationship between mother and son, and the relationship between father and son, I would have liked them all to stay together, I was sorry for the end; the good thing is that the FL and the ML still have a chance... or so their open ending suggests... well, it was nice to hang out

I thoroughly enjoyed this novel. One of my biggest pet peeves with HE novels is that there’s usually a lot of drama, they overcome it in the end, and then they rush through the wrapping up things and the ending. This one, although feels a bit rushed, did not leave a bad taste in my mouth. It was a really good turn of events and I like how the characters did not forget their core personalities just to make the plot convenient. I’m giving it 4 stars though because I... more>> don’t know, the introduction to ML was a bit... disconnected of sorts. It felt weirdly out of place - and that is something, given that she had a son pop out from nowhere.

PS prepare tissues in the last few chapters of this novel. <<less

Omg I loove the son so much he is such a sweet heart. This story is so worth it. If you're emotional like I am then just be ready to cry a bit. Omg my heart went to the son he has such a beautiful soul. He always put everyone before himself.

I love this so much! I think the two main characters are MC and her son because this story is about bonding the mother-son relationship

On the other hand

the romance is about couple's quarrel, their struggles after they've got together, ML and MC understanding each other all over again, maybe they're not compatible, they're from different world.

This is what I see for the first time, transmigrator!MC realized as a modern person she's not suitable with an ancient person at all. They have different views and ideas about almost everything. She's missing her home. She's suffering in the palace. Then they're learn to let go.

Nota top-tier tragedy but surely not a fluffy either.

Author can make this novel BE/OE if she's end it at

Spoiler

ML and son going back to ancient time

But it's not! It's a HE. Very satisfying. <<less
