Little One Tears the Villain’s Script

Jiang Xiaoman was bound to a system when she was three years old. The system told her that she was the lost daughter of a wealthy family assigned to play the cannon fodder in this script. The fake daughter that her parents adopted was the heroine of the story.

Jiang Xiaoman blinked her eyes and asked, “What is a cannon fodder?”

System: “You all live in a book, and everyone is assigned their role. From now on, you should keep on blackening and be a bad child. Do you see that little boy? He has a bigger role than you, in the future, he will become the big bad villain. Why don’t you bully him now, and show him up real good!”

The naïve Jiang Xiaoman picked a handful of colorful flowers and stuffed them into his hands. “I’m showing you something really good!”

System: “…”

Darling, you got it all wrong! Not showing him something good that way!

The little boy: “I don’t need friends, I don’t need company. I’m just a burden that no one wants. It’s my destiny to be abandoned.”

Jiang Xiaoman: “That’s wrong. Everyone’s existences have meaning. System said you are especially important, even more important than me. You’ll be a really really useful person in the future!”

System: “…??”

Did it say that??

Later on, the system stopped giving Jiang Xiaoman any tasks. Jiang Xiaoman was very sorrowful and said, “Mr. System, why won’t you play with me anymore?”

System: “… just try to grow up first and learn to understand every word! You’re killing me!!”

Jiang Xiaoman worked hard to blacken (not really) under the system’s supervision until she was reunited with her wealthy parents. She scratched her little head and asked, “Mr. System, what about the task? Didn’t you say that we should fight over the family’s wealth?”

System: “What kind of wealth do you still want to fight over? You already have more money than your wealthy parents!”

Fun read! Liked the story a lot, MC/FL might be a little smarter than average but her ingenuity and hard work are main contributors of her success. Loved her grandmother and uncle who appreciate her and fight for her.

People who work hard finally get a break in life.

I’m just going to mention the only thing I haven’t seen mentioned in other reviews that stuck out to me. That is, this might be the first light/web novel I read where the FL is not only physically stronger than the ML, but his equal academically/mentally.

Usually, if even one holds true, the other is sacrificed in order to maintain the dynamic where ML is in a position to lead/rescue the FL. To uphold the Man Protects Woman status quo & all. But not here.

It is true that her ... more>>

family is significantly poorer/less wealthy & therefore socially weaker than him at the start, but this gap isn’t played out with the usual Prince-Peasant/Cinderella plotline either. There aren’t any NPCs claiming she’s too poor for him, nor are there any rich people events in which she’d be given a makeover, & displayed/degraded/rescued.

There isn’t really much of a moment where she feels like they “live in different worlds” or like he’s out of her reach.
Spoiler

ML dances to her tune, if anything.

[collapse]

The one way in which he arguably holds power over her (wealth) isn’t flaunted or emphasized, or at least not to the degree that’s the norm with rich Cnovel MLs. It’s? Kinda incredible?
(my standards are low ok)

Spoiler

Plus, her adopted family becomes wealthy, & her biological family was always about as wealthy as him, too. So whatever wealth gap there existed between them is essentially closed by the end.

[collapse]

I was constantly waiting for the author to say, “Sike, he’s just lazy. He could outrank her academically if he just put in some effort.” Or to suddenly give him a physical remodeling as he aged, complete with a cliched “you female, me male, therefore I naturally Stronger” kind of narrative. But nope!
Very pleasant surprise.

I’ll second the issues with pacing other reviewers mention, & reaffirm it is very much a fluffy read. But I enjoyed it, & the MTL was understandable. <<less

Aaaaaaaa I'm so sad ;-;-;-;

I think the ending is so rushed. The real villain's sister ending, the romance and the face slapped feel so insufficient.

(Still, 5/5 bcs I extremely like it)

Spoiler

The actual villain sister's ending is just like: She was chased out of MC's bio parents' house, got money from bio grandma but cheated out of said money by bad friends.

As for the romance with ML.... It ended when they said that they like each other in high school. I thought they'd gonna go married or something QAQ.

Many plot doesnt get filled, like what happened to ML's mentally ill mom? MC's uncles' wealth also never got revealed to her biological family. Isn't the part where [MC is more wealthy than her rich bio family] is supposed to be a face slap part?! The villain sister's friend from the same class as MC also never got slapped ;-;-;-; she's so jerky, saying that MC got close with transferred student (ML) out of sudden, but actually they're growing up together since childhood. That part also wasn't revealed to the new classmates ;-;-;-;

[collapse]

I'm so disappointed by the ending. I even surprised, "what, that's it??? I finished reading this??" BROKEN HEARTED BCS I EXPECTED MOAARR 。:゚ (;´∩`;) ゚:。 <<less

I just love it!!

MC is a smart cookie. Not adult like but like natural kid like smart. She asks ALOT of questions as a kid. She like praises so she became studious. Funny thing is there would always be someone who is smarter than her so she often cried but then persevere again to be smarter. Its so adorable. 😍 She got ALOT of funny antics as a kid. And often times, ML is dragged with her. 😂 There's alot of good laughs.

Like 60% of the novel is when they were... more>> kids.

MTL is easy to understand. About 60-70% okay. <<less

This is my second time writing a review here. This one probably won't be spoiler-free, though. Here we go.

Initially, I stumbled upon this novel completely randomly while scrolling through novelupdates. I thought the premise was quite amusing and would allow for some very comical scenes to play out. I wasn't let down. The best parts of this novel are its humour and the (sweet and cute) relationship between the female lead and male lead. It is by no means perfect, but an enjoyable ride and definitely worth the time.

Before I... more>> begin the review, I would like to preface it by saying that I find that the extras (chapters 133-148) are must-reads. They tie up a fair number of loose ends from the main story and will leave you much more satisfied than if you just read until chapter 132. Now then, onto the actual review.

Little One Tears the Villain's Script is unique in that the system binds to our female lead (Jiang Xiaoman) at the ripe age of... three. No, that isn't a mistake. As you would expect, our female lead doesn't understand half the things the system tells her and constantly asks it questions to the point of driving it insane. The system-host relationship didn't start on the best foot, but as the story progresses, you will surely come to love the system that's trying its best to work with Xiaoman (even despite its shortcomings).

Our story begins when Xiaoman is four years old. In the beginning, Xiaoman's life is by no means easy. Her family is not at all well off and, in fact, struggle financially. The first couple of chapters are pretty dramatic, and I was concerned whether the entire novel would have a similar tone that contrasted greatly with what the synopsis suggested. However, this wasn't the case, and it becomes apparent down the line that the author's strength doesn't lie in building a compelling narrative.

While not necessarily a bad thing, this means that readers looking for anything more than a fluffy slice of life with hints of romance and plenty of comedy will be left sorely disappointed. The plot of this novel is one of the things that I feel could have been significantly better. A variety of plot points that the author brought into the story seemed inadequately explored. The resolution of many conflicts in the story felt shallow or brushed over.

Spoiler

An example of this would be the conflict between the female lead and the fake daughter, Liang Siyu. Siyu has an overpowered system capable of doing much more and feels like an actual cheat compared to Xiaoman's system. However, we never learned what this system's goal is or why it decided to bind to Siyu of all people. Aside from that, the way this plot point ended left much to be desired. The system decided to go away and give up on its host almost instantly when something went wrong. While I understand that the resolution was likely this way to show that not all systems are as generous nor patient as Xiaoman's system, it came across as unnatural and was very anti-climactic. As soon as the system encountered a setback, it decides that the host is worthless and moves on. It doesn't even try to assess the situation at all. It makes you question further why it picked Siyu as a host in the first place if it was going to give up that easily. The whole situation and its conclusion feel wrong. I'm not someone that particularly loves drama nor conflict, but half-baked conflicts and resolutions are probably the worst things a story can have. It's a good thing I didn't come into this novel expecting much in this department.

[collapse]

The plot is probably the most lacklustre point of the novel, though. Everything else was done quite well, in my opinion. The romance does take a while to kick in (It only starts becoming more apparent around the time Xiaoman is in Junior High, which is already over halfway through the novel if I recall correctly), but once it does, it's just adorable. Qingshi's delusions about Xiaoman and his awkwardness when he is around Xiaoman are unbelievably cute and contrasts strongly with his cold and uncaring façade. It's certainly a welcome step away from the always expressionless and seemingly emotionless male leads so common in these types of novels. Do be warned that romance is not the main focus for much of the story, and we don't see some actual romantic development until the last quarter or so. Just keep that in mind.

With that said, let's move on to the humour. As mentioned earlier, this is one of this novel's strong points. The antics of Xiaoman from before she enters kindergarten and even until she finishes her university entrance exams always lead to hilarity. She always finds a way to get others involved too! She often gets Qingshi in trouble by including him in her schemes without his knowledge.

Spoiler

An example of this is when Xiaoman's grandmother, Jiang Xiumei, kept giving tonic soups to rejuvenate Jiang Xing, Xiaoman's uncle, who seemed exhausted from working. Jiang Xing didn't want to keep eating these, so Xiaoman gave it all to an unwitting Qingshi. The result? Qingshi gets a nosebleed from having "too much heat" due to the tonic soups. xD

[collapse]

Overall, it seems Qingshi and the other characters (the system included) can't quite catch a break around Xiaoman.

Finally, let's talk about the characters. I love Xiaoman and her family, as well as their dynamic. We get to know each family member well and witness the development and change in their character over the years as Xiaoman grows up. Apart from her family, another character that we see grow up and mature alongside Xiaoman is, of course, our male lead Qingshi.

Spoiler

He transformed from a reserved and more or less asocial kid before kindergarten to someone who can clearly state his feelings and desires in front of Xiaoman after they get together and doesn't consider small talk a significant inconvenience. He also becomes much warmer overall - to the point where he can take care of Jiang Xing's baby! This shows his character development and growth over the years influenced by Xiaoman.

[collapse]

As for the antagonists, I'm a fan of how the author wrote one of them in particular.

Spoiler

I thought that Liang Siyu specifically was well-written. Her character feels realistic. Liang Siyu is what you get when you give a three-year-old too much power. They don't understand the concept of consequences, and they severely undervalue things. This is why she did not try to cling to her system when it decided to part ways with her. She didn't fully comprehend that separating from the system meant losing most of her power as the female protagonist in the script. She did not even stop to think about the potential consequences on her life as she used the system to borrow 13 years worth of lifespan from her grandfather. A rational person would have figured out that separating from the system at that time could cost them their life. However, can Liang Siyu be considered a sensible person? Not at all. Being spoiled from childhood by her family and the system clouded her judgement for the rest of her life. Eventually, there would be fatal consequences as well. I completely agree with this portrayal of her character.

[collapse]

That isn't to say there aren't any bad points with the characters. In particular, the side characters that are Xiaoman's and Qingshi's friends are forgettable, and I would've forgotten about them altogether if not for one of the extra chapters.

Spoiler

Xiaoman's biological family also didn't have enough screen time, in my opinion (aside from Liang Yuanqing and Siyu). We didn't get to know the biological grandparents nor the mother very well.

[collapse]

If I had to give a layout of the rating, then:

Story/Plot: 3.5/5

Romance: 5/5

Humour: 5/5

Characters: 4.5/5

Translator: -/5 (I used MTL for this. It was easy to understand for my first MTL novel. Be warned that the current translator cuts the chapters into 1/3 or 1/4 of the actual chapter size, and chapter numbering is confusing. Otherwise, the translator gets the job done. They translate the novel much more cleanly compared to the MTL and give insights into certain idioms. Not much else to comment on here.)

Overall: 4.5/5 (rounded up to five stars)

Conclusion: If you are looking for a hilarious slice of life story that begins from early childhood with fluffy romance, then look no further. You've come to the right place. If you are looking for an intricate plot or aren't a fan of slice of life stories, then look elsewhere. This work is definitely unsuitable for you. Otherwise, I look forward to reading your thoughts and comments in your reviews ^.^ <<less

Let me tell you this is one of the cutest novel ever!!!

I love the characters especially to MC and the ML! Their interactions are so damn funny and endearing at the same time. The talk about 'where you came from' is so hilarious.

The ML here is so freaking adorable because he blushes when he realizes his feelings to MC. IT WAS TOO PURE!! UWU

He was not your typical kid that I-am-a-kid-with-high-intelligence-and-very-mature-at-the-same-time. No, he was a kid like MC. He acts like a kid and also an immature one. He just... more>> suffers on caging himself. I think he got better on a later chapters though.

The MC here is not reincarnated nor transmigrated nor rebirth. She only have the System who pushes her to be a villain. Don't worry about the system since she ignores it. She was a studious little one and she was very dedicated on her studies. She sticks on what she believe.

Everything on this is so beautiful and I really thank the translator, Sleepy Translator, for picking this gem.

You gotta read this! <<less

I gave the novel a low rating because of the badly written story development and the even worse character development.
First of all, the way the MC is reunited with her biological family is rushed, filled with holes and unstructured. Secondly, instead of developing the story as the MC and the other child characters grew older, the author took the easy road and just wrote a lot of silly fillers to make it more fluff and increase the chapters. Of course, that would've been fine if the MC had continued... more>> to be 5 years old, but since that wasn't the case it just got annoying and I skipped a lot of chapters.
Thirdly, the supposed adversaries are basically neglectable and don't do much for the story anyway.
Lastly, the author mentioned the financial destitute of the MC and her family; I thought the author should've focused a bit more on the changes that would've happened around the MC as her family got more financially stable - there's no 'poor to rich' in the novel whatsoever. <<less

Among the various TAGs in this novel I would say that the most important, the most representative is missing: the BULLY protagonist.

Xiaoman was born to be a villainess even if she apparently looks like a candid and kind angel, the naturalness and tranquility with which she manages to bully the male protagonist - with the approval of the adults around them, who do not even notice the child's fundamentally demonic nature - with always different methods, are incredible.

Xiaoman is the epitome of the phrase "the road to hell is paved... more>> with good intentions".

And that's exactly why she is adorable.

P.S. The male protagonist is still just a reserved and problematic child, but I'm sure that if the story continues along these lines he will become a splendid psychopath.
Or a late stage masochist.
Or he will simply surrender in desperate resignation to his adorable tormentor, who knows. <<less

TLDR. 4 stars it's enjoyable and has it's moments but is too uneven and flawed for anything more than a 4

Details: From the synopsis and the opening. The story is about a lost daughter who winds up being the villainess when she returns to her family. It starts with her at the age of 3 and she returns to the family at 15. No spoiler here that's from the first few page.

The best part of the story is the beginning arc when she is 3-6 and an incredibly cute moppet.... more>> The grandma the system, and the uncle are also really well done even if I found the grandma and uncle off on a big reason. The ML is a bit of a dud and the rest of the characters are about on the same level but I did smile at her friend who steals kids snacks.

The logic of the plot works even if it's a bit dull

Big problems: Reuniting with her family happens very late in the story. The fight with the adopted daughter is very short, bland and badly done. There's very little exploration of the family dynamics. Overall the end just falls flat

P.S. The translator is splitting chaps into roughly 3rds plan accordingly <<less

My summary for why I rate 3 stars is at the end of my review. I dropped reading this because I have a lot of complain/gripes on this novel.

#1 MC is cute and adorable, indeed, but you get tired of it the more you read. In fact, the way I see her personality she is indeed fit for the role of villainess. She's a constant troublemaker, spoiled, pushy and somewhat narcissistic. Indeed, she is a child. MC is not transmigrated nor rebirthed. She is a genuine child. She should be... more>> a lovable MC. Unfortunately for me its a NO.

MC is a bully, troublemaker, liar (not a very good one at that), portrayed to have high IQ but backfires because she is naive and easily tricked by the adults.

I'm not looking for a genius, OP and multitalented MC. It just find the MC too troublesome.

She's the type of child I would avoid at all costs. If I were to babysit her I would pass her to someone else, and then watch on the side as that babysitter get miserable.

MC's main choice of weapon is CRYING. In almost every chapter she has cried, or maybe she has cried in every chapter. Sometimes not ones but twice and maybe even three times in one chapter. She can cry all night or all day and even a few days in a row. Multitasking even.

This girl's tear ducts are too OP.

Spoiler

Xiaoman cried miserably, but she did not coax her.

This matter was too serious, and she needed to teach her a lesson. Otherwise, in the future she would go to the roof and take off the tiles.

Jiang Xiaoman cried all night, feeling very sad and aggrieved. The more she thought about it, the sadder she got. She was now the little cabbage in the ground, swaying in the wind and drenched by rain, wanted by no one. Grandma didn't want her anymore.

Jiang Xiaoman cried all night.

[collapse]

She doesn't mind getting beat (spanked) and is actually thinks its a way of showing love. In some cases it is true but most of the time it is for disciplining but because of her immunity to beatings (spanking) the disciplining doesn't work.

#2 MC is a constant trouble maker. Her common sense is way different from ordinary. The author tries to make sense of it because she grew up in the mountains. However, do children in the mountains or small villagers sleep in the pig pen? I get it that she finds it comfortable but really!? This event made her family worried, thinking that she had been kidnapped again by a relative. It does not justify that it is because she is young. She doesn't listen to words of the adults at all. She also causes a lot of misunderstandings.

Example:

Spoiler

"Why are little brothers who haven't gotten a home so miserable?" Ye Jiajia thought for a while then said, "If he's really that miserable, I guess I can lend him Mom and Dad temporarily, but he has to return them later."

"Because all the little babies in your city are picked up from the tr*sh can." Jiang Xiaoman explained. "Yu Qingshi was like this too. He used to be very miserable. He had no food to eat, no clothes to wear, and his whole body was very smelly. Every day, all he did was lock himself up in a room and ignore everyone. Your little brother should be similar, so you should be more magnanimous."

Yu Qingshi: "... "

He never said such a thing! Jiang Xiaoman could be really annoying sometimes! He was a little angry! Yu Qingshi snorted softly, still silently listening to Jiang Xiaoman deceiving the child.

Finally, Ye Jiajia was really coaxed. Because Jiang Xiaoman was the smartest kid in the class, she must know a lot of things.

Ye Jiajia thought about her little brother's miserable life in the garbage dumping ground. Suddenly, she felt that her feeling had stabilized. If what Xiaoman said was true, then she would show more care to her little brother when she got home.

Later...

Ye Jiajia left happily.

For some reason, seeing her silhouette happily skipping away, Jiang Xiaoman who was a veteran of a hundred battles felt that Ye Jiajia might be getting a beating soon...

[collapse]

#3 The ML grew feelings for MC. Like, what the heck! The things done by the MC to the ML can be considered bullying. Why would ML start to have feelings for her?
Spoiler

She sent him a letter full of worms (silk worms). She tricked the ML to eat a can of cat food. She had caused the ML to cry almost all the time.

[collapse]

Why the in the world would the ML start to have feelings for this bully?

#4 The adults aren't reliable at all. The MC's family way of teaching is extremely questionable. Their main choice of disciplining is beating (spanking). This is not a always a good choice. If you want a sensible child giving a talk and explaining to the child is a good way. Instead, the MC's family directly beats (spanks) and do not explain. And when they do explain they rectify some of the truth so it can be child safe. Thus, resulting in a lot of MC's lack of common sense.

Example:

Spoiler

Because Jiang Xiumei saw the mess in the yard when she came home, and instantly became furious. "Jiang Xiaoman!!! What are you doing?!?!"

Jiang Xiumei was furious. Seeing the yard full of holes, she almost fainted from anger. "What are you doing? Do you think you're a mouse? What are you doing digging holes?"

Jiang Xiumei was very angry, and Jiang Xiaoman received a beating in the yard.

Jiang Xiaoman already expected this beating long ago and was very cooperative. Every time Grandma yelled, Xiaoman also yelled. After Jiang Xiumei felt that she had spanked her enough, she finally stopped.

But Grandma had just spanked just now, so she wouldn't be eaten again... right?

Of course. Not.

Jiang Xiaoman received another spanking. It was a harsh spanking.

Jiang Xiumei was furious.

Jiang Xiaoman refused to say anything no matter what. Jiang Xiumei was also helpless and angrily said, "Wow, Jiang Xiaoman. You've never been so disobedient before, and you never talked back to me. You're not my dear baby anymore."

Jiang Xiaoman snorted and said while sobbing, "Yes! I'm rebellious now!"

"..... "

It was not a good thing for a child to be too smart. At times like this, it could make someone really furious.

Jiang Xiumei smiled furiously.

Xiaoman cried miserably, but she did not coax her.

[collapse]

Spoiler

There was one event when MC and ML feel asleep next to each other during a school event and they thought MC is pregnant. Although this is funny but also something to frown upon.

Spoiler

After thinking about it, Yu Qingshi said, "Maybe it's like what Ye Jiajia said. My parents slept together, and after one night, I'm already in my mother's stomach."

Jiang Xiaoman asked, "Is that true? When two people sleep together, they can have a baby?"

"Well, that's how it is on TV." Yu Qingshi nodded vigorously. Anyways, it was better than being picked up from a tr*sh can.

Jiang Xiaoman seemed to believe it. "So it turns out that you really can have babies when you sleep together."

After saying that, Jiang Xiaoman was suddenly taken aback, as if she suddenly remembered something.

Yu Qingshi was also taken aback.

The two looked at each other, and they both saw the same shock from each other's eyes.

The adults and the system didn't do a good job of explaining to the children:

The system couldn't stand it anymore and said, "Host, you don't have a baby. You just ate too much, so your stomach feels uncomfortable. It will be better tomorrow."

"But I already slept with Yu Qingshi." Jiang Xiaoman wiped her tears from her reddened eyes. "Ye Jiajia said if people sleep together, then they will have a baby. That's what it says on TV."

"... Well, it's not wrong that sleeping together can make people have a baby, but you only slept together. There wasn't... any other activity."

"What other activity do you need?"

"The one that can give birth to babies... Not suitable for children... Anyways, you can't give birth to babies!!"

Jiang Xiaoman's heart relaxed a little. She let out a sigh of relief and continued asking, "If babies don't come from sleeping together, then where do they come from? Where did I come from? Where did Yu Qingshi come from?"

She had to know this.

There would definitely be other children who will be confused in the future. She needed to know this so she can teach them.

The system was silent for a while. "Need to sleep together."

[collapse]

Then she later thought that the baby is already in her stomach but won't be born until she grows up.

[collapse]

The adults are also very calm saying a child was picked up from a tr*sh can which really irked me.

#5 I pity the System at the same time get annoyed with it. All through the story we see that the System has character and personality. It's not robotic or lifeless at all. It gets angry, annoyed, and soft hearted. So, it should have some amount of EQ. Unfortunately, you will be disappointed. It has no way to get through a child. MC has potential to a villainess via bullying. Yet, the System has no idea how to make use of this. So much for a Villain System.

So, I rate this 3/5 stars. The first half is interesting but later on you bored or maybe annoyed. Although, it is interesting that the MC is not transmigrated or rebirthed but instead a true child. The MC, however, is not my cup of tea. I usually rate MCs with LOVABLE, TOLERABLE or ANNOYING. In my opinion of Jiang Xiaoman falls under Annoying. If Xiaoman was my daughter, I would have exhausted all kinds of disciplining on her. The MC's family's way of raising a child is unreliable. Again, if Xiaoman was my daughter knowing that she was a smart girl my teaching methods would have been more mature like. ML's feelings for the MC is questionable. He is clearly bullied, reduced to tears from time to time, and forced/tricked to eat food that I don't know should or should not be eaten. The System is unreliable. You may find it cute or pitiful but as someone who has read many novels with Systems this one is average. The story is not that great but rather a tolerable read. I would recommend My Whole Family are Villains and I Decided to Find my Father more than this. <<less

5/5 stars!!!

After a couple of translated chapters I had to MTL the rest of this novel.

This story is about our MC (Jiang Xiaoman) 's journey through life with a villain raising system who keeps asking her to do bad things.

Okay can I just say that this novel is so freaking cute and hilarious. Most of the book is about Jiang Xiaoman's antics. She's such a funny character and has some really cute quirks. One of my fav moments is when ... more>>
Spoiler

is when after Jiang Xiaoman borrows points from the system in order to save her uncle from dying, the system tries to convince JXM to not allow her Grandma to repay their neighbors $ she borrowed for medical fees for him and JXM says if I'm a villain who shouldn't repay others why do I have to repay you?? The system face cracked so hard lmaooo. The image of this lil bun saying that straightfaced killed me.

[collapse]
She's such a bright person (both personality wise and smarts wise) that I grew to adore her.

The ML is also a cute lil bun. Instead of the overwhelming president type we have this cold, but always blushing lil cutie.

It was such a joy to read this story and I completed it in a couple nights.

Definitely recommended for some lighthearted entertainment (although there is a bit of dog blood drama with her main family at the end but that doesn't really involve our main characters but instead her o.g. Family). <<less

Honestly, I read this novel fully over one or two years ago and only now realized that I did not write a review for it. That's likely because only half of the novel had been well translated here, at that time, and I had to look at other sources but... that's beside the point.

In either case, I most certainly enjoyed this novel. The novel's name does not lie. The little villainess, most certainly, destroys the entire script of the so-called "story". And, no, that was not an exaggeration. Pretty much... more>> every aspect of what was supposed to be the original story gets flipped on its head in an enjoyable way.

The story depicted a happy household of a poor family, with a great number of supportive individuals that aids tour little villainess, that are all truly developed over the chapters. They aren't just "stepping stones" or "background characters" in the story. Everyone had their own aspects that make you love them. Even smaller characters, that helps are little villainess, get revised later as well.
Spoiler

Like, for example, her original teacher.

[collapse]

It shows a genuine and natural progression of a poor family, just barely scrapping along, that, eventually, growing to be a part of the middle case/lower upper class.... and, what's more, that part of the story all happens in the background too. It isn't some plot device where the protagonists show her worth by saving her family from poverty. No, she is a powerless little critter that just lives her life, while the adults are the ones that try their best. It's honestly heartwarming, if not groundbreaking. And, of course, there are challenges that the adults also go through in the background that, occasionally and unavoidably, affect the little girl in the family as well. Luckily our little girl has a system!

Then there are the other characters as well. For example, the male lead, our little villainess's original family, or the system... which I will not go into for the sake of time. Just know that they are all developed well, at least proportional to the number of chapters that they show up in.

Spoiler

Excluding the heroine.

[collapse]

The point I'm trying to get across here in this review is that this isn't a novel where the MC is "the most brilliant in existence" or the "most competent in the world that all fall for". Even with a system, that's not the case. She is exceptional, yes, but she is just a kid at the end of the day. A very good, sweet, and intelligent kid trapped in a lot of adult drama. Eventually, once you get to the end of the story and our little villainess gets everything she should have been given from birth and more, you'll genually feel... that she, as a person and not a main character, truly deserves this happiness.

This story... is so, so good. <<less

This needs a slice of life tag or something, because "slow growth at start" doesn't cut it. I didn't expect what I read at all.

Pro #1: MC is cute and smart and lovable & ML is too. Her logic makes sense for her age.

Pro #2: Realistic family dynamics and they are not 1D or 2D. Pretty 3D. Granny and uncle are lovable.

... more>> Pro #3: The fake daughter's character design is pretty good. It's realistic.

Pro #4: System is cute too.

Gripe #1. The solution for everything is crying until ch60. Yeah around there.

Gripe #2. Misc. Little moments of PDA and romance are too many in number, and last too long. I was honestly scared this novel would go into 509 chapters based on how many little events happened in their child hood, I had to check when it'll end. You'll get lost in their growing up. It takes forever. That's why the ending feels rushed. I understand why some child nobility webtoons skip some parts of childhood now. It's really, really, too much of that's not the focus of the novel. Again, no slice of life.

Gripe #3: The fake daughter's golden finger is kinda really sucky. I don't even understand why she has it, never explained. No ML for her either?

Gripe #4: Kind of don't like her interactions with biological family, wish we could learn more of what the mom & grandpa felt & were thinking.

Honestly. Can't give it a higher rating because that's not what I read the novel for, based on the summary and tags.

It felt like the novel was really, really, losing its track midway. MC & ML's romance were really being developed and explored. There were a few heart throbbing moments that could be derivated from their interactions (I think in junior high- high school) but I skipped most of them because I was getting impatient. The interactions in kindergarten were adorable though, and were so silly they could be real. <<less

Since the translation is still few, I decided to read the mtl. I must say, this is one of the best c-novels that I've read. It's a hidden gem. All the characters are well written. The plot is so nice, it has no plot holes. Jiang Xiaoman and Yu Qisheng are one of the best FL and ML that I have come by. They are so good together and they are not unnaturally OP.. They're OP because they work hard. They act like their age and are really just the... more>> best.

Jiang Xing is also one of my favorites. He's so adorable, hardworking and funny. I love how he went from a country bumpkin to a real badass CEO. He's amazing. It was funny when he came to apologize to jiang Xiaoman's tutor and he didn't know how to act and was scared.

Everything was so perfect. The climax of the story was at the end part but it was just right.

Spoiler

The og!FL was taken care off at the end, but I kinda pity her. She was mean but it was probably because of her father and the circumstance she's in. I'm not defending her bad behavior but they shouldn't have kicked her out by herself. Now, I'm kinda worried for her. She might be forced into prostitution but hopefully not. She was bad but I don't think she deserves that. Afterall, she was just a victim of the adults' schemes.

[collapse]

I'm probably sympathizing with her because I love villainesses. And there are a lot of villainess who came from a real daughter fake daughter plots. And the fake daughter is usually the villainess and the one who'll suffer at the end. <<less

A really cute story of a villian system who came too early and ended up baby sitting, and a really smart optimistic child who grew up well despite the promt to become a vicious female thrown at her since the age of three!

This is definitely the read if you want to laugh out loud and want sometime cute. The protagonist and the male lead are absolutely adorable and the story revolves around their interactions with each other and others around them while growing up. Minimal characters but each are well... more>> rewritten. The main conflict and climax comes into play way later but the story keeps its momentum and sustains interest of the readers with the absolute cute s*upidity of growing children.

Simply heartwarming and uncomplicated. <<less

  • A good read and overall 4stars Note to self - reason for 1 star deduction
    Spoiler

It's a bit unsettling to how the og family of the MC are made to be 'bad' parents with questionable character who didn't 'look' hard enough for their daughter after the adopted (kidnapper) mother had abducted the MC all to prove a fact and justify the crime and show that the MC was better off abducted and her current family were the 'good' guys.

I mean bruhh, kidnapping is kidnapping, doesn't matter if they're 'oh! Such a good person it's forgivable'. Nope fam it doesn't work that way, least not for me.

And if the MC's original fam can spoil the adopted daughter rotten, then whose common sense is lacking to think the real daughter won't have been loved had she grown up with them??. The logic of turning the MCs original parents "BAD" just to justify the kidnapping left a bad taste in my mouth

    [collapse]

Setting Aside the text in the above yellow drop down, filled with fluffy and all cute things (ofc the lil buns) the novel is a freaking hilarious read which makes one laugh most of the times and at other times bored at some repetitive patterns of the novel (just a personal opinion totally) but it's totally worth the read (or not, depends on one's PO really).

This is super cute, but it's not what I expected at all LMFAO. I initially thought that it would be more dogblooded, but it ended up being very slice-of-life. Soft, and fluffy, with a little bit of drama, and a little bit of fantasy because of the system, but it ended up being very simple. (BTW: The TL is currently unfinished -- The latest chapter, 310=123 chapters in reality. But the MTL is pretty redable if you plug-it into Google Translate. Like, 85-90%!)

Summary: The FL (Jiang Xiaoman) was the... more>> original villainess of a book where two children had switched their fates when they were babies (the fake daughter gets to live in luxury while the villainess was left to live miserably in the backward mountains). When we meet her, she was only three years old. She has a SYSTEM in her head that wants to lead her through the correct path. However, because of the butterfly effect, things end up going in the completely wrong direction from the start.

This novel ended up being a growing-up story. It's relatively slow-paced at first, focusing on how she ended up avoiding her miserable situation and then slowly following her as her life got better and better. Later, the pacing speeds up a bit, but the main focus is still on how things have changed as she grew up. Not only her own fate but also the fate of the ML (who was the original big bad villain in the novel), who accompanied her as she grew up.

If you like that kind of sweet and fluffy story, then this is definitely for you! Don't read it for face-slapping, that's only a small part of the story. The romance was also pretty minimized. The ML was the first to fall in love, and to the end, it was hard to say if it was actually requited XD Like, there was absolute no sign of it on her end. All in all, however, I enjoyed the read. And my official rating based on my usual categories is...

  • Character: 10\10 [Great characterization, you can tell the author really put a lot of effort into it. Although, of course, the character of children is relatively simple. But it was done well!]
  • Romance: 5\10 [I thought that the ML was cute. It's rare for there to be such a cutie like this as an ML! Unfortunately, the novel really isn't very romantic lmao.]
  • Setting: 6\10 [As a modern-day novel, its pretty vanilla outside of the SYSTEM. There were some problems with the setting as well. Like I didn't understand what was going on with some of the character settings. For example, Liang Siyu's background was such a mess until the truth was eventually revealed at the end.]
  • Plot: 7.5\10 [From the summary, you might expect this novel to focus on the 'switched fates at birth' aspect more. But that's really just a small thing. Otherwise, the true plot of this novel is the growth of the main character, who grew up very differently from the girl she was written as in the original story.]
That means that the final rating for this particular novel is 3.56/5 stars! Not bad all in all. If you're looking at it from the big picture, it seems low, but it depends on what you're looking for. If you're not interested in complicated settings and a complex romance, then this novel should be just right. <<less

the translation is good.

I like how our villainess supposed to be female lead literally wasn’t following the script assigned to her.

Maybe without the system’s intervention would she really be a villainess *ehem* brother system must be crying blood now.

If Yu Qingshi wasn’t the Ml, I’ll drop this! But I wanna see him jealous and have a 360 attitude towards our FL, wouldn’t that be EXTREMELY CUTE!!! AAAA, this mother’s heart couldn’t wait.

This is one of the resting most novels I loved it. She is cleaver and although the romance develops a bit too one sided on ML's side, you do not feel MC is just going with the flow. She genuinely cares about ML too and not verbalise it as romance. The lack of villains might be a problem for people looking for drama, but this reads more realistic than most other slice of life novels.
