The MC, Su Han, is at core a very self-sufficient and independent person. It was a blast to have her as the protagonist narrating the story to the viewers through the lens of a level-headed, sensible mindset in various interesting set-up. There is a lot of suspension of disbelief needed especially concerning the real-world background needed to fully appreciate the story, but once you get past that, you'll find it easy to breeze through the chapters.

The romance wasn't a major element of the story, and I truly think that was... more>> a good thing, because through that Su Han and Zhong Rui (the ML), were fashioned to be more distinct as individuals with their own characteristics that rather than overshadow the other's, instead complements them. They're a badass power couple that as a previous review has stated, stand as true equals.

One thing to note is that most side-characters appear once or twice then never again, but a great deal of them are very likable and live their own lives.

Over-all, a very enjoyable read! <<less

If you liked Apocalypse Lord you'll definitely like this as it's written by the same author and the main characters sort of give the same type of vibe.

Don't go into this expecting a lot of tension or drama which is pretty contrary for a survival game genre novel, but this reads more as a slice of life in very precarious situations. Because the story takes place in a game (like an actual game and not a trapped in virtual reality), the stakes for most characters tend to be a lot... more>> lower than they would in most survival situations since life is guaranteed and they can essentially quit and leave the scenario whenever they want.

However, that isn't a negative in my opinion because it means the people/characters that continue tend to have interesting reasons for doing so. For example, MC really just loves survival and wants to see how far she makes it on her own strength plus she (like most people) wants the prize money so she can quit her job. Additionally the world building tends to be super interesting because there's game logic there like each person has a profession in the game that gives them a specific benefit from money to food to soap. Hp is measured through fullness, cleanliness, etc instead of just hp falling only from injuries or something.

ML and MC are the most equal couple of all time in my opinion. They're both extreme hoarders and like they aren't willing to get rid of anything except to make space for other things when their warehouse is full plus their "powers" are very complimentary. One gains food everyday and the other gets medical supplies.

The author, like in apocalypse lord, makes sure to make the two characters are equally balanced as possible so that neither side takes too much from the other and like the main characters there, there's definitely a transactional vibe to their interactions to begin with like "I give you this and you give me this to pay back" but thankfully the ML is a lot more present in this novel.

Spoiler

He's actually seen more than a couple times and he is present through most of the novel/arcs and you know when he starts developing feelings and that he actually plans to confess properly though through much the MC remains dense and doesn't see through it. When she realizes she likes him though, she's willing to put herself in the relationship without much fuss because she trusts his character that he will not take too much from her or use her.

[collapse]

I also appreciate they're both lone wolves and don't immediately change that even after meeting multiple times. It's really ML that suggests they team up and MC rejects at first because she says she enjoys games by herself without worrying about what others want or think. It's only when she realizes that he's not only self sufficient and capable (which she already knew) but also not depending on the "team attitude" of we have to do things together all the time that she agrees. She wants to play in the way she wants even if that means she could eventually be eliminated and only teams up with ML when he shows her that he is okay with letting her do her own thing while he does his own when they disagree with their approach which I appreciate. Neither of them has to give up or acquiesce to one another just because they're partners.

Spoiler

ML def falls for her first but doesn't confess till after they exit the game.

[collapse]

A lot of ppl were saying this ends abruptly which it definitely does, but honestly I was expecting it to end after

Spoiler

they win the championship (which not sure if it's a spoiler but just in case lmao), but it actually goes on for a few more arcs after that in which mc/ML are dating and working for the game company to test the scenarios for new games.

[collapse]

so it didn't feel too out of place for me. Overall really great novel if you like slice of life! <<less

It's an enjoyable read; the FL is strong and independent and doesn't try to act like a saviour. The ML has his own strong points but it annoys me that he always has to be stronger than the FL (even though the FL is more resourceful). The romance is very slow burn but I read this novel mostly for the survival genre, so it didn't bother me much.

After seven instances, it does get a bit tedious to read. There never was a moment where I felt the MC was in... more>> critical danger and in most instances, the MC and ML can survive through the supplies they hoarded.

Overall, everything is very low stake, so there is not much tension but it's a nice read nonetheless. <<less

Other reviewers have already praised the main character Su Han and her levelheadedness, and how the male lead complements her. Su Han and the male lead Zhong Rui are both moral individuals, with a bottom line that they don't go out of their way to bring harm upon others, unless those people attack them first.

Side characters, like the guy whose talent skill in the game was producing jewelry (2nd arc), or the girl who could make freshwater from the ocean (3rd arc), were entertaining to read about. What I want... more>> to focus on in my review is the setting of the story. Some reviewers have mentioned how it feels repetitive, which is strange to me since the different "rounds" of the game are vastly different from each other. I'm impressed with the author for coming up with so many unique survival scenarios. Some of them are more likely to happen in real life (natural disasters) than others (zombies).

Round 1: Inflation
- A town where the price of goods and such goes up by 100% everyday.

Round 2: Natural Disaster
- An island with a town, that is cut off from the outside world by fog, which then goes on to experience every manner of natural disasters (high winds, heat wave, snow storms, flooding, etc).

Round 3: Distress at Sea
- A cruise ship that gets stranded in the middle of the ocean after losing contact with navigation systems. One of my favorite arcs, because of the sheer chaos this round from players and the game alike.
Spoiler

A couple of players decided to poison the ship's water supply, thereby eliminating a bunch of players and NPCs from the game. Then there's people with explosives, who start a fire on the ship. There's literally a PIRATE BATTLE at the end of this arc, and I love it sooo much!

[collapse]

Round 4: Deserted Island
- Exactly what it says on the tin, survive on a wild deserted island.

Round 5: Trapped in Wartime
- A city that's suffered the effects of war, and later, invaded by enemy soldiers. I like this arc because
Spoiler

in previous arcs, NPCs were mostly cannon fodder to the game scenarios. Here, in this round, Su Han and Zhong Rui lead them in taking down enemy soldiers.

[collapse]

Round 6: Survival in the Desert
- Exactly what it says on the tin, survive in the desert.

Round 7: Gambling
- Earn a certain amount from gambling everyday, while incurring no debts, otherwise....
Spoiler

Players end up in the underground arena where they have to fight against wild animals like wolves. Towards the end of the round, there was a rebellion, and players fight against the casino NPC security guards and staff.

[collapse]

Round 8: Virus Town
- A town where the outbreak of a virus is imminent. One of my favorite arcs because
Spoiler

Su Han was just not having the other players' BS this round. When they tried to run away without quarantining at the hospital, she and Zhong Rui rounded them up, or eliminated them if they fought back.

[collapse]

Round 9: Zombie Shelter
- A zombie apocalypse, where the round only ends after eliminating all zombies.I feel like the author is parodying zombie apocalypses in other QT stories/c-novels, since it's such a common plot, because
Spoiler

There are players who pretend that zombies have a special "core" that will heal someone/grant them immunity from the virus after they swallow it. They did this to trick the NPCs into hunting zombies. This is similar to so many novels where you can get superpowers from eating the zombie's crystal/nuclei or whatever...

[collapse]

Round 10: Nuclear Radiation
- Survive a town that has been irradiated by nuclear radiation. This was the hardest round for Su Han because
Spoiler

she actually had to give up the extreme challenge. Usually, players only have to survive ten days to advance to the next round. But if they survive 15 or 20 days, they get extra rewards. This is the only round where Su Han had to give up early on the 10th day.

[collapse]

Round 11: Survival
- Fight against other players until only 10% are left.

Round 12: Endless Mode
- The last round of the game, survive for as long as possible. <<less

This was a lot of fun! I've been having trouble finishing novels recently because I have to take a break midway in order to write, but this novel is so low-tension that it can be read without any fuss! It is, as stated in the title, a limitless survival game. The FL and the ML are both participants of a large scale virtual survival game. There are expected to be more than ten different instances, each a little bit different, where the main goal is to survive for 10-20 days... more>> (the players who survive longest will of course be rewarded).

I think this may be the predecessor of the BL novel "Card Room" (since that was released in 2019 and this one was 2018), but only in that first instance was very familiar. Anyway, that boosted my interest in the novel quite a bit, and I ended up reading it till the end in the process. I checked earlier, and the author wrote another novel that I liked "Apocalypse Lord" but I ended up preferring this one because the characters are more lively and the plot a lot less repetitive. Apocalypse Lord is fun if you're interested in the 'hoarding' aspect, but outside of that? There's not much substance. Here, the characters are relatable and there are different situations to keep things interesting.

Overall, definitely worth the read! I won't be writing a full review because I read most of the novel in MTL and it would be meh to rate it on a potentially biased perspective. But, I will give a rating since I finished it! That rating, based on the character development, setting, romance, and plot, is... 4.1/5 Stars! This is pretty high for me, and adding personal enjoyment would have made it go up another level, perhaps 4.35/5? Still four stars though, so either way! <<less

An enjoyable slice of life survival game novel! My only fault with this novel is that the end is really abrupt, like the other reviewers mention. The best way to say it is that the story actually concludes at chapter 118ish, the endless survival mode (similar to the title), and anything beyond are just extras you don't need to have too much expectations on. It's also not a very deep novel; it's just meant to be enjoyed at face value.

Romance is low key. ML likes MC first, but it's not... more>> her focus. She's just a survival fanatic that usually likes solo games, but develops a trust with ML after several instances. Do not go into this fic if your goal is a heated, romantic and drama filled survival game. They're trusted companions first, and barely get into handholding by the end of the novel. 🤣

There's no huge drama, and it has the sense of a quick transmigration novel where the reader feels refreshed after each arc is complete. Animosity doesn't really last since enemies aren't seen again (if you lose, you're no longer in the game), but there's still the thrill of trying to survive until the next day. MC is a badass and there's definitely no damsel in distress here (in fact, it's usually a ploy in this novel). ML is still a bit OP, but they're quite equal but strong in different areas.

I suppose the other fault I think is that their jobs are a little too inconvenient and lower the difficulty rating of each round, while the other players are red eyed from their "spicy chicken" job and drops.

still, definitely recommend as it's not too long and entertaining to pass time! (MTL is not too bad, but genders are constantly confused... Lol) <<less

It was a nice and cute novel.

The article was actually simple. It's about an endless survival game in VR. They enter extreme conditions, extreme situations like financial crisis, price inflation, earthquakes, and etc.

They were chosen a job when they start making their character. There were Nutritionist, Doctors, Thief, and etc.

... more>> Su Han, our main character, she is a person called, survivalist. She like to hoard materials, play in the wild, and fish, play with knives, and many more.

The arcs are nice, they made me aware of things that I can't survive in. [Aggrieved]

The romance was actually very light in this novel. They became official at the latter part of the article.

They were teammates at first, then, it naturally developed.

The characters are nice, I remember how I was amused of them.

Overall, 5/5. If you're looking for a light read of romance with the main plot survival, this is for you. <<less

Written by the same author as Apocalypse Lord and the MCs of the two kind of have similar personalities (hoarder, lone wolf type).

I feel like Su Han might be a little more mature in terms of EQ though and a bit more playful from her dynamic with the ML.

As some other reviewers have said I think MC and ML are one of my favourite couples among the CN novels that I have read and definitely in the survival genre. Neither of them would have any troubles getting by without the... more>> other but together they are an absolute power couple and can make up for each others shortcomings when it comes to survival.

I won't repeat too much as there are some fabulous and detailed reviews already but I will share one of my favourite moments that kind of shows how cheeky and low-key this author is with her romance in this book:

Spoiler

Near the end when MC and ML finally establish their relationship in the real world, ML comes to work feeling really great about himself and it's obvious that he's super happy about something. Their boss/colleague is like... did something good happen? And ML is like yeah! I got a girlfriend!! Boss/colleague is just like... Yeah it's Su Han right? You guys are finally admitting it now? And ML is just like... totally deflated hahaha. Everyone else has shipped them for ages.

[collapse]

Like Apocalypse Lord the MTL of this novel is super readable. I usually avoid MTL like the plague because it makes my brain hurt but it was super easy to follow what was going on even if some of the technical game terms or names were translated weirdly. <<less

Writing Quality 4 stars
Story Development 3 stars
Character Design 4 stars
World Background 3 stars

Story kinda seems to fall under slice of life, with the author's writing style and focus points, there is not much drama for the main character, though there are many things happening around us, the writing style tones it down and so the readers do not feel very emotional.

A kinda op lone ranger who goes on different journeys, smoothly going through life and slowly getting along with someone. Thats it basically. A nice chill past time, that also does not require readers to memorize the family tree of the MC or every odd side character.

Not much put into recycling side characters, but this falls in line with the writing style of the author, which seems to be whatever comes and comes, the MC is very detached and does not hold strong feelings with people in general, but this complies with her character of a very cautious survivalist so points to character development.

Side characters have their own unique traits and personalities and circumstances, it seems more like everyone is living their own life, rather than bad character development, where everyone can only be foil to the Mc's so another point for that.

Real world background, not much spent on that but the world building for each copy is satisfactory and gives an overview of the situation of that world, laying the foundations of the following plot. It does not give unnecessary detail, and that they won't stay long, but just - but usually world building is to the bare minimum which makes it seem very shallow.

I like how cool and independent the MC is, and I really like these troupes that don't depend on another guy. But these are ok, what I really love is that the ML and MC are complete equals. It's easy to say but harder to find an actual couple like this. I also like the ML for being a human being not an omnipotent bug that is only there to love the MC.

The ending is very abrupt and does not give the reader closure at all, so I removed points on that. This has a very large impact on the overall image of the book, so I was very disappointed here.

A good story to pass your time but since I mtl'ed it I couldn't appreciate it fully. I only read upto chapter 28 then the arcs was repeated until chapter 131 so don't waste your time reading the MTL version.

  • Spoiler

So far the MC enters the game, stock pile goods for survival, clear it for 20 days, receive rewards, exit the game, read forums and wait until tomorrow for the next survival arc. Then rinse and repeat I guess.

I gradually got pretty tired of the repetitive pattern of enter scenario, get out of scenario, scroll through random internet comments about scenario, enter new scenario, rinse and repeat.

So, I stopped while I still had positive feelings towards the series.

It was also really cumbersome to MTL everything, so I wonder if that contributed to my general growing distaste. Either way though, it seems like the scenarios became less and less detailed over time, like the author was ALSO getting bored. Lol.

The first 50 chapters or so are totally worth it... more>> though. <<less

It was great. I really like the writing if this author. I actually read both of her/his novels in two days!

Honestly liked apocalypse lord a bit more though. Only because the ending for this novel was way too abrupt.

Again, having a female MC in this type of genre is a rare find so I was lucky to find this.

... more>> Loved the MC and I really enjoyed the tactic understanding between her and ML. Not much romance but I still found myself smiling ear to ear at every interaction between them.

Now I find myself craving for more novels with female MCs of this genre. <<less

I really liked it, each arc was very enjoyable, except for the ending that was a bit abrupt imo (more in the spoilers). The ending wasn't "bad" but I'm just craving for more! It was a satisfying novel and imo the quality was pretty good. Sometimes I feel that OP powerful independent FL can be a bit corny, arrogant and childish (like some would only impress a young audience) but this one was actually quite good and her personality wasn't annoying. I think this could be enjoyed by people of... more>> all ages. Not super romance focused but having read this after Apocalypse Lord (by the same author), I wasn't expecting much romance, but I was pleasantly surprised with the romance amount. It has some romance but not to the point of it taking away from the novel. I think this novel could've been more developed and have more chapters and details, but overall it was pretty good and I'd recommend it. I wish there would be a sequel lol, it really was a fun read.

Spoiler

The last arc was just hurried. But it's understandable because it was supposed to be easy, but I was craving for some action and nothing really happened in that one arc. I mean, the characters even admit it so it's not really like ignorance from part of the author. I'd consider the last 2 arcs as extras really. But seriously, I finished the last chapter and I was ready to click next chapter, it didn't hit me that it was the last one. Still, it was nice.

Now where wud I find such an interesting novel as this one ? ! The side characters were also interesting, I thought the little girl who could purify water would join the team, but in vain. Very similar to the author's other novel, "Apocalypse Lord". The FL is almost like a clone of the other story, with the hoarding obsession. Like the other story, it's very slice of life with the FL insisting on a solo survival strategy, until she starts to see some perks with have a comrade. Although, it's only a quasi comrade in her eyes, because it's just a temporary comradeship and not technically a teammate.

There's a bit more romance in this series, but it's very anti-climatic and very matter-of-fact. Kind of very... more>> unromantic, passionless, and lackluster.

The scenarios in each world are interesting at first, but the way the FL and ML approach each event gets a bit repetitive and un-suspenseful. Both characters are pragmatic, and regardless of job occupation, they approach the game goal with the same mind frame.

Because it's a game, and specific items are always given to each game character everyday, there's no tension about real death in any sense. It's a game, and if you survive a number of days, you can still revive to continue the next level.

Overall, I like the premise, but ultimately it still feels like slice of life. To be honest, I liked it when there are more character interactions. <<less

One of the few good apocalyptic novels that are actually realistic and reasonable in terms of survival knowledge/methods. But a censored version of how far the human evil can go because of the set number of days in each instances.

It's a much lighter read compared to other apocalyptic novels since it's a VR game and it leans more towards slice of life genre. Gameplay is main course, and romance is side dish (the kind with very pitiful amount).

Overall, it's comparable to a steady heartbeat with consistent wavelength and pulse palpitations... more>> here and there. And then like a heart that died it just suddenly ended. Like really really sudden. <<less

One of the rare likeable female leads among the many survival game novels I've read about. I like that her actions showed that she's independent and strong instead of being just stated as strong but actually useless without the ML like some novels do. Although I like that there are times in the game that she still requires help from ML and vise versa. It shows that both of them are still humans.

Just like another user stated, the ending is very abrupt and does not give the reader closure at... more>> all. I even thought it was hiatus but its stated as completed, so I deducted a point from that. Another point deducted is that even though the instances are still good enough to kill time, I noticed that more than half of the arcs are similar and repetitive. <<less
