– The planet [Earth] has entered the abnormal state [Apocalypse].

– You have failed in saving the Earth. The Authority, [Vintage Clock (EX)] rewinds the world’s time.

For Yu Jitae, it was a message he had seen many times.

It was tiresome.

It would have been great had he died with everyone else.

But he couldn’t, for his authorities that made him the strongest existence, brought him back in time whenever he died.

And even with his strength, he couldn’t protect the broad earth against the maddened dragons.

– The world’s time will soon begin.

As the clock resumed ticking in the direction it should, his 7th iteration came to a start.

Fortunately, he finally had the gist of it.

You should ignore `You got a MC with zero personality` statement in the other review, as much as I don't mind 3 star rating, I have to disagree with this sentence tho.

I'll tell you only this, there is a reason for his emotionless state and it changes with a progress of the story, mainly cause of dragons, not gonna tell more here to avoid spoilers tho.

Saying so I need to point out that the rest of the review isn't misleading, those things really happen there but I don't see... more>> an issue with that as long as it's not repetitive and provided in a good way, for now I can only say that I'm fine with it and definitely enjoy the story.

Pretty nice ride so far, can't really think of anything to point out, maybe in earlier chapters I'd say something but at this point where I am right now, I can understand and accept some solutions presented as they are.

Also description of this novel doesn't do it justice, c'mon it's barely a sentence... there is a reason why he is a guardian for dragons and that reason is actually driving the story, it's presented as soon as in prologue/first chapters, so that's even a lesser spoiler than actually providing the number of dragons, which in story you will know them all only after something like 10 chaps... lol. <<less

MC traits like emotionless, machine-like, and goal-oriented give a similar vibe to Reincarnator MC. However the author have the capability to not make him a dull and edgy character

Well-written characters with natural interactions flow. It's as good as Regressor Instruction Manual.

The story centered around OP characters but it has good action and growth story.

Interesting foe.

It's an enjoyable read and deserves 5 stars at ch. 56

To put this in short: a jaded and cold-blooded, hundred year old omnipotent killing machine who has gone through hell multiple tries to become family man in order to save the world. A being that has lost all emotion except the ability to be occasionally annoyed or angered by stuff and pulverizing them. When he mu*ders people, the numbness that he feels goes away for a second or two. Basically, the protagonist is too far gone in this one.
Yet you have this sort of protagonist trying to interact with these young girls that he has decided to protect.

Eventually, you'll see whiffs of humanity through some of his interactions, they are scarce but powerful enough to shed a tear or two. ;-;
There is the occasional action scene that serve to display how much of bizarre monster the MC is, and damn is he terrifying. Yu Jitae is something akin to a calamity when he chooses to display his power.

For now, I'm giving this 4 stars, because I can see a lot of potential here. If we see more growth from the protagonist and from his relationship with the girls, it would be amazing.

Spoiler

Omg, the blue dragon is so damn cute. This novel makes me want to have daughter someday.

A man trying to save the world from the Apocalypse, but at the end of it all, before he can save the world... He needs to save himself, how do you ask? It's all a matter of perspective XD.
-
1. Story ★★★★★ - The power system gives WN is very simple, it's not a WN with many fights, when they do they are quite decent. The plot-twist is fantastic, and the world-building is simple but well done. I made the Spoiler below thinking about THOSE WHO READ it and were as confused by the ending as I was, I ended up re-reading some parts to try to understand since the story had something to do with the timeline.

Spoilers Ending:
Spoiler

- I was a little lost at the end, and I had to reread it to understand, if you want to read it next, it's at your own risk XD!
- Yu Jitae NEVER liked the Dragons, he tried to deceive himself when he decided to change his method in the 6th Regression asking Vintage Clock to seal these bad memories, and this explodes when Bom discovers his past, and this duality of the 5 remains years lived with the Dragons gives the 7th Regression with the sealed memories gives other Regressions, it practically creates a double personality.
- When he decides to "live" with the Dragons, we know the plan and origin of Great Hostility, and to pay for his sins, Yu Jitae uses "Conceptualization (EX) " to make his sin into something "palpable", in which, he can DESTROY IT with his own hands.
- When Yu Jitae kills the "Great Hostility" he is out of the timeline, that is, out of Providence, because of this act, the Dimensional Cruise returns to work and ALL the Girls are alive, and will live their lives in Askalifa, and they have the other Plot-Twist during the girls' time on their way home XD.

2. Character ★★★★★ - This is where WN shines FANTASTICALLY, the author does a fantastic job of putting this together in an organic way, without forcing the bar on any character, or introducing abrupt developments none of this is done, it is done calmly and patiently, it is exposed to the reader, the characters' fears, their victories, their most intimate thoughts and the most varied madness possible, we know very well the MC's past, and his sins "which in some moments are well explained the sh*t that happened", and the way how he gradually becomes "Human", and of course, the moment he wonders if it really is love, and the crooked logic that categorizes love XD.
-
3. Enjoyment ★★★★★ - Its bittersweet moments, anger, sadness, madness and reflection, WN has a little bit of everything and is well done, and really has several moments to think about. And seeing the trajectories of the girls and the MC, the relationship that was created at WN is very beautiful.
-
4. General ★★★★★ & 10/10 - I highly recommend it to anyone who likes great character development, if you're looking for a good amount of action you may end up finding the work boring, as it's not really what it proposes, they have it in the work, but it's not its focus.

man what a novel... first of all let me say that this novel is one of the BEST out there! this is not an exaggeration in the least. before reading this masterpiece of a novel a lot of people recommended it but I didn't really think that it would be that good but o boy was I wrong. first of all the character backstory of the MC and the 4 female mc's is not rushed, the MC character growth is in a pace that seems believable he doesn't change overnight... more>> and it takes him along time to start changing which I especially like also the plot twists seems to be really well thought off and it seems like the author put a lot of time and effort into coming up with it. basically nothing feels rushed the pace of everything like character growth, problem solving and all that other stuff is just too good to the point that this novel managed to become my second favorite novel of all time. of course no novel is perfect and I found the the chaps between 390-414 a little hard to keep up with but everything else was really just good.

I TOTALLY RECOMMEND THIS NOVEL READ IT AND U DEFINETLY WONT REGRET IT!

Impressive novel. Might not be the best I have ever read, but it comes close to, especially since it is a completed novel and a lot of incredible novel can ends up falling during the ending. This is a 6/5 novel as far as novel updates standard go.

This novel made me cry more than a few times. This is a novel focused on character development/growth and interaction. Saying more than that would be spoiler, though I will just add the synospsis doesn't really explain what the story really is about.

Some... more>> things you need to know though before considering to read this novel:

  • It has romance but not the harem tag. On that note, the romance, while not the core of the story, is definitely important especially by the end.
  • Notice the "torture", "yandere", "obsessive love" and other disturbing tag.
  • Notice the tag "slice of life". The first half of the story is kinda slice of life.
  • The focus is more on the "characters" than on the "plot". It is character-driven.
  • While there is definitely action and fights, this is not the core of the story and are only here to support character arcs.
A common complaint I see regarding this novel is that the romance was "forced". And to be fair, it kinda is when you don't know everything happening behind the scenes (last part of story has a lot of reveal). However, the romance wasn't unexpected. The protagonist has a very different relationship with each of the four dragons. But really, pretty sure the author explained that in the first 30 chapters. The author made it so obvious what he/she intended to do with the characters that it was borderline spoiler. And slowly, but surely, it increases in speed. Why the surprised reaction after 200 chapters? How can anyone say "hey, I didn't see it coming, it's from nowhere!" when it's reminded and bonked on our head at least once every 30 chapters?

My only real complaint in the novel was the last few arcs. In two words, time paradox. Common issue in story that starts to rely too much on those. By the time, I was more than invested enough into the characters and willing to overlook a few points in the plot that made no sense to me because of time paradox, but if this is something that put you off, then it can be a problem.

Ending is on the happiest side of the spectrum. Ending is a little bit open... Heck, open enough for a small sequel, but the main points are closed. Everyone you should care about are happy and there is no known real threat to this happiness. I don't even feel that empty after finishing the novel because the ending was satisfying enough. <<less

A great novel from start to finish. Every characters is interesting, compelling, and nuanced. The Author started with a interesting premise, made a fun and engaging story out of it, and nailed it with the ending. What a rollercoaster of emotions.

Great job from the translator, not only with quality translation but also did his best to keep the reader experience as close to the author's intention as possible. I really appreciate the extra effort.

Best thing I have the pleasure to read for a long time.

Overall: 5 stars for the first couple hundred chapters. I was hooked, I stayed up until 4 in the morning to catch up to the released chapters once I started reading, and I immediately cl**ked on a new chapter if I saw it. After a certain point, though, my enjoyment started to drop off, and I would put it at a solid 3 stars near the end. Hence the 4 star rating.

It starts off very interesting, with the main character being an extremely powerful but emotionally stunted man after reincarnating... more>> many times over, failing to save the world over and over again and getting sent back in time. The characters are quite interesting, and it's really enjoyable reading this story about four very young dragons and this man living together as he starts to slowly experience emotion again. The character growth is simply fantastic in this part of the story, and the characters feel rich, real, and unique.

The place where, in my opinion, it all started to go wrong is when romance started to be added. I don't like romance much in the first place, so take that as you will, but this time it felt especially forced and unnecessary to me. I went from eagerly waiting for new chapters to come out to sometimes letting chapters rack up for a week or more because I didn't feel like reading more of it. I did end up finishing the story completely, but some sections started feeling like a slog to get through, in order to reach the entertaining parts.

Spoiler

The romance is between the main character and one of the dragons, which just feels wrong to me to begin with because their relationship begins as strictly child/guardian, and there's a huge age difference. She's about 20, while he's literally hundreds of years old when you take his regressions into account.

I don't think that romance is necessary to have a fulfilling, emotionally rich life, but it seems to me like the story's trying to show that the romance is a sign of him being "fixed" emotionally, when I think that the way that he experiences and expresses other emotions means infinitely more. There's other aspects of it that are plot-related very late in the story, but I think my point still stands.

Then, once a certain amount of time passes, some scenes are just written p*rn. Not what I'm looking for in a story like this, especially since it didn't show any signs of developing like that for a couple hundred chapters.

Probably one of the best stories on this website if not the best. I never thought something that had things I hate like "abilities" and a "system" could pull of one of the most original and captivating stories I have read. Normally when you see things like that it seems like a lack of originality and the author just relying on established tropes to get past the tough work of imagining something new. But this somehow manages that. The MC is incredibly powerful, but it reminds me more of One... more>> Punch Man, where the focus isn't on fighting with others, but on the things he can't easily accomplish regardless of how strong he might be. If the story was about how cool he was at beating off a bunch of villains who are there just to be hated and then disposed of, this would just be another trite power fantasy. But its far from that, and the focus of the story is instead on a person who has lost his humanity and will to live slowly rediscovering it. <<less

This story is basically about a regressor with an "If all you have is a hammer..." mentality finally coming to the realisation that not all problems can simply be brute forced.

We then get lots of comedy as a cold and dispassionate MC suddenly tries to act like a good father and heart warming scenes as the absolute sociopath tries to recover his lost emotions. Some people may now get ready to watch an overpowered MC stomp everything with supreme confidence. While this does happen, it's not as often as one... more>> would expect, for while he is indeed the most powerful being on the planet, his past failures have made him surprisingly humble. A lot of time is given for introspective into past iterations, which always comes at opportune time to shed light on the problems with current developments.

As for the individual dragons, there isn't much to say, they are well written, diverse and distinct characters with their own problems and their own unique development paths.

As for plot developments, some are built up way in advance, some are big, impactful events that come out of the blue and even surprise the regressor while others are just the small, random everyday obstacles people sometimes trip over. In other words, it's a healthy mix.

If I had to give a single point of criticism, it is that there should be a bit more push back from the government against people who live extremely high profile lives under completely made up identities. <<less

Fantastic!

If you want a typical korean action packed novel then this is not for you. It's a slice of life novel with good character development.

In this story, we got a MC who has already experienced every emotion and left it all behind. But he is still struggling to save Earth and end his suffering. So this time, he is adopting a new approach, and regaining his humanity and emotions in the process.

... more>> On a plus side, it's not a harem, seems like that way in the beginning, but it's not.

On the negative side, you could get bored if you do binge reading. And IMO romance is somewhat bad in it.

I just hope that author doesn't screw up the ending. <<less

Ok Gyeoul is way too damn cute so 5 star for that, now for the review, The problem with story about a very OP character is that they either become annoying by keep trying to show how great MC is (typical chinese ones mostly) or they have nothing much to tell since they are showing MC as a perfect being who solves all the problems instantly, while OPM solves it by introducing intresting side character and there stories, kidnapped dragon deals with this by showing MC as not a perfect... more>> being, he has his major faults, and story explores his journey to become human again, its more a slice of life than action, and is one of the very few slice of life stories that I liked. And again Gyeoul is way too cute so for that 5 star. Oh also there's no harem in this, tag is also edited. <<less

Very very good. Makes use of a lot of the tropes of other Korean novels and uses them to go in a different direction. It'd probably help to have read some other korean gate/hunter style novel before, as the worldbuilding kind of assumes you already know what's going on a lot of the time, but it will be a great read for you regardless.

Characters are great, and all the dragons are loveable.

This is easily in my top 5 favorite novels from this site.

This is a top-tier slice of life novel about an unlikely family gradually becoming a genuine one as its members experience life together.

It is not an action novel. Read it with the expectation of receiving an increasingly wholesome, slow burn slice of life, and you will be very satisfied. Because that's what it is.

Reasons to hate this story:

Spoiler

This story is driven by wholesome slice of life and three dimensional characters. In spite of the absurd power of its protagonist, it is not truly a power fantasy, nor a harem.

Characters evolve organically and that means that their growths are (for the most part) a decidedly slow burn.

Protagonist's power, competence, and generally apathetic attitude ruins any sense of suspense or tension in the action scenes (there is still notable tension in the emotional scenes). Instead, there is a sense of interest and appreciation at watching the various intricate storylines unfold, and how the protagonist addresses them.

Even after his heart has healed considerably and his actions have become much more human, the protagonist still maintains a very apathetic demeanor on the surface, which dampens the energy of the story somewhat.

Heartwarming is the best way I can describe this story. It has its moments of action, grief, despair... but the major theme is of a mentally broken soldier learning how to be 'normal' again. The characters are very well fleshed out, with each character getting strong development. The sharp contrast made between the mental states of the dragons and the MC in past regressions, and that of the MC and the dragons 'today', really drives home how terrible the MC was in the past while evoking sympathy for both the... more>> MC and his victims.

If there is one thing to complain, it would be that there is no 'physical' risk to anyone here. The MC is just too OP for anyone to pose a threat. The real risk centers around the characters' mental well-being, which focuses the reader's attention on the fluff and character far more but I wouldn't say no to a bit more action.

11/10 on the Kawaii factor... Gyeoul (Winter) is just too adorable. <<less

A quarter in through the journey and I love this.

In my opinion, this novel is a 50-50 mix of action/adventure and slice of life, with the two complementing each other amazingly well. You will not once wish for a certain arc or situation to finish hurriedly so you can move on to the next scene. All the stories and happenings so far were beautiful.

With the MC and 4 other female leads, each of them have their own distinct personalities and you wonder if things would get jumbled up together or... more>> if some get pushed aside. Fortunately, they are well portrayed along with their unique flavour.

Despite the MC and others' difference in the form of expressing themselves, you can really feel the emotions being brought out by the author (also mad props to the translators for being able to convey that). Adding on to that, the character development and growth happens at a stable and noticeable rate.

In these trying times of the pandemic, I am grateful to have found a gem like this. If you only read one thing this month, make it this novel. NO RAGRETS <<less
