I Fell in Love with My White Moonlight’s Arch-Enemy

I used to have a white moonlight.

He came from a prestigious background of the righteous path, an immortal lord of noble and benevolent character and was highly revered by the masses.

He took me to his monastery when I was young and allowed me to live in his residence standing at the mountain top. In other people’s eyes, the me who wasn’t able to cultivate was tr*sh.

I didn’t mind being called tr*sh as long as his Immortal Lord loved me.

But not only did he not love me, he even wanted to gouge out half of my soul to nourish his little lover.

His Immortal Lord’s arch-enemy was a little highness in the demon realm, known for being a scoundrel in all three realms. He was treacherous and ruthless in nature, and whenever interest struck him, he would take up his sword and go to the spiritual pool to massacre evil ghosts.

But when I was in a tight spot, the fiendish little prince in everyone’s eyes would exasperatedly bully me while helping me wipe my tears.

To say something completely tasteless, I love him.

It's a sweet & slightly sour story about a weak-ass shou and a strong-ass gong. By the end the weak shou also becomes strong lol.

At 11 chapters, it's a v short but simple read.

I quite like the story! It’s short but the plot and characters are well written that it’s worth to read if you want a light story to read!

some of my thoughts about the story:

Spoiler

I think that the story can be expanded more because some of the mystery or plot are not explained.

For example the White Moonlight or we can call him the 2nd ML, the 2nd ML was only interested in the MC for the half of his soul. Yet at the beginning he didn’t kill MC or do anything to MC, he only gave MC the pills after he found out something when the MC starts learning cultivation. Why?

MC got a headache or something that’s not explained. But it ended up with the 2nd ML giving MC the pills to weaken his soul and eventually kills him.

From what I think the MC is probably indeed the reincarnation of the Flower Demon (the one 2nd ML call his dao partner/lover). But I’m not sure that the flower demon is the lover of 2nd ML.

If you noticed the ML and 2nd ML are always fighting and it seems like a repeating occurrence, I’d like to think that the Flower Demon know the ML as well and the reason the two fought is because of the Flower Demon.

Which is why when the MC met ML, the ML was acting quite familiar with MC and seems to know something.

I had a hunch that the MC probably like ML when MC was the Flower Demon. (We’ll call him past!MC)

The 2nd ML fell in love with past!MC too but maybe he caused his death or something and he can’t accept it.

Later on the MC is reincarnated as mermaid, it seems like the soul of the past!MC is not full or perhaps mixed with a new soul or something and the 2nd ML realized that the MC is not the past!MC anymore. MC has become its own person.

Watching the MC getting closer to the ML and even want to run away, he decided to just kill MC and revive the past!ML in hope that the past!MC will stay with him.

Maybe the past!MC also was in the love triangle with ML and 2nd ML, he probably fell in love with 2nd ML but due to his demon heritage the 2nd ML rejected him and maybe caused his death, so that’s why in regret he keeps past!MC body.

That probably the reason why the ML also didn’t restrain MC and let him do whatever he wants. ML probably think that he caused past!MC death indirectly or something by restraining him in the past? Like it’s quite weird how ML told MC about not wanting to keep him against his wishes when MC was hesitating between ML and 2nd ML. ML didn’t have a problem snatching MC from 2nd ML before.

As the leader of the Demon world, it also fitting if the Flower Demon knows ML too— I wish the author can answer our questions because I’m really curious!

It's so Precious! It's such a Cute and Heartwarming story. With some well sadness and frustration (not between MC and ML).

ML at the beginning seems Cold Uncaring person, but he always good for MC. Even MC noticed it though only after he was away from ML.

ML also didnot hide his though of who and what action or thing he think is bad. And MC is not so naive, but of course his reason of why he thought This and That, made sense.

How MC and ML grow their feelings, their development,... more>> interaction and all, Absolutely Wonderful!

It's seriously Lovable Enjoyable Cute Story! And I'm Loving it! <<less

Synopsis gave big spoiler. There is no suprise for plot anticipation, read it only for how the story going on not what will happen.

Even so, this novel creates smile on me. Giggling non stop to the couple's cuteness.

Spoiler

ML repriminded MC not to seduce him as there is something can only be done after wedding. Yet, on the same night he said that ML broke the costume

This novel would definitely benefit from at least 30 extra chapters. There was so much potential to develop. It's still a cute story as it is, but it could have been much more.

Story was okay. Maybe it would’ve been better if it wasn’t written as a first perspective since the plot seemed interesting.

Cute short story.

Uhm does anyone else think that the dogs in the first scene just wanted to play? They wagged their tails and bit the stick he waved in front of him. They bounded over to the MC, but were stopped before they could do anything truly aggressive. The MC was scared and saw everything they did in an exaggerated way, but they were innocent right? Right?? That they were given cooked food in itself implies that they are actually tamed animals, unlike the MC's assertion that they were wild.... more>> It just goes to show how little effort the white moonlight was putting in to 'save' him. Haha, otherwise it was the white moonlight who threw out the chicken to attract the dogs.

Other thoughts:

Spoiler

I'm not sure how half the flower demons soul ended up in the main character, but I'm not sold on the MC being his reincarnation. Don't forget that the MC is nearing 100 years of age.

Here is what I think would be a fun development suitable for the hypocritical white moonlight. The author notes that the MC's mother is a mermaid, but doesn't say a word about his father. What if the flower demon was his father and the white moonlight instigated the annihilation of the mermaids out of jealousy?

I think it's much more likely that the MC's soul was mistaken as two as a side effect of the artifact his mother used. I suspect bully Lu Yan is in love with the white moonlight and plotted against the flower demon though, either scattering his soul or sealing it into an artifact. He couldn't stand seeing that 'face' again and bullied the MC. Now here's my question, would hypocrite white moonlight really have not noticed if the flower demon was bullied? He treated the MC who looked like his lover as less than human. I can't imagine how he views others. He might be the type who only realized his feelings after the flower demon was in a coma.

This was so cute, and it deserved to be so much longer. With only 11 chapters, naturally it felt a bit rushed, but the ending was still satisfying. It's the type of story where I would binge read it even if it had 100 chapters. It's a pity it's so short, but it's a really cute short read.

ya know, the first few chapters throw you into a story with very little context. I still have no idea what is going on, but still like the demon realm more then the mountain top area... very roundabout way was used to get the point across though.

Short, funny and sweet. I love the dynamic between MC and ML, and the way MC was able to show his true self in front of ML knowing that ML didn’t dislike him for it.

Spoiler

This was a really short story, so I expected it to not have a lot of detail. Despite that, it was genuinely such an interesting and enjoyable sort story to read. I think the length even adds to the cuteness.

The narration is completely first person and entirely biased to the narrator. It also seems like more of an accounting of events than a story the narrator is living through. I quite liked that, though, because it gave a type of innocence to the narrator that fit him. I also don't think he was named, which also made the story interesting.

I also though that the Immortal Lord's attitude throughout the novel was well written. It didn't necessarily give off that he was using him for his previous lover and that gave it a bit of an O. Henry ending. But it was obvious from the cold Immortal's behavior throughout the story that the MC had some type of importance to him, which I though accurately represented that there was more to it than just that he liked him or something. Thats just my opinion though.

It wasn't really thought provoking or deep, but it was wholesome and very good if you're just doing some casual reading. I totally recommend!

I didn´t like it that much, and it wasn´t due to the type of narrative the author used because I´ve read many short stories like this and I liked them. Maybe it wasn´t my cup of tea or the MC (Shou) was too naive (? But I gotta admit I did like how jealous he got on chapter 10 or 11 lol. Also, even though it was a pretty short story and we didn´t get many details like

what happened to the MC´s savior/master (sorry I don´t remember his name) and his lover, if it was true that half of MC´s soul isn´t his and belong to that guy´s lover

.

Also the ML was really pampering and I would wish to read everything from his POV
