Absolutely love the novel. Shen Chi and Yan Xue Xiao were such loving couple. With everything they both went through, they were able to maintain such a pure love. Specially Shen Chi. A young person was abandoned by both his families and had to survive all on his own but was able to find a way to still be the best he can be with Xue Xiao's help. Also, I really appeciate how the author made it a point to serve justice based on the actions of the antagonists. Those... more>> who took lives ended up dying and the greedy ones loss their material possessions etc.

I will surely read this novel again. <<less

Aiyah... this novel is not bad. I actually couldn't put it down at first. I found the MC adorably pitiful (个_个) and just wanted to see him get his happy ending. Unfortunately... I had to go to sleep midway and after waking up, I just couldn't bear to continue reading because of the TL quality and the tone of the story djdkdkdk. The TL is better than MTL works but it's just as hard to figure out djksksks as mentioned by other reviewers, this needs serious editing. As for the... more>> tone, it's quite sad. Heartbreaking even. And this is from the get go. The games weren't all that interesting either. Though that could be because of the TL quality or the author's inexplicably formatting that makes ir difficult to determine who's speaking T.T.

Anyway, I'll try to read it again one day when I have more patience. Undeniably, I think it's worth coming back for the cute MC. Especially since I made it all the way halfway! <<less

I liked this - but the translation made me work. It really needs editing - but sometimes it’s so vague I think you’d need to refer to the original to sort it out.

It's cute, but the ML basically manipulates MC. It's written like MC wouldn't mind if he knew, but it's still manipulation... From outside perspective it really feels like ML is raising a pet, as he controls everything about MC...

This is so boring. There's no hype from the start, the games are mediocre and the interaction between the MC and ML is too little, coupled with the fact that they're in long distance so the interaction is only thru chats and they both don't like talking! I can only be sorry, I want to give this a chance but the start already didn't go off as interesting, I doubt I would be able to enjoy the rest.

The novel can be divided into two parts - when MC was young, still a school going student and when MC is all grown up and goes to college and there's a breif interval between which they get seperated. MC's characteristics didn't change much but the ML became way too manupulative in the second arc. I liked his nature better before : he was patient, forbearing and just wanted to do his best for MC without any schemes or calculations in the mix. After, MC and ML reconcile, ML brings... more>> out the cunning that he uses for his business politics. I know it's supposed to show the change in his character, how the businessworld and the difficulty of his circumstances really changed him but the scheming is really deliberate and not subtle.

And although there's always some tricks and games at play when involving a romantic relationship -especially when wooing the person, it's not to such a degree and the person being wooed is aware and willingly falls into the trap. MC is not aware of ML's calculations towards him at all. His ignorance definetly makes the ML the dominant partner in the relationship, they had a more equal, healty relationship when MC was younger which is weird. It is also unecessary when MC has already given the whole of his heart to ML a long time ago. <<less

At the beginning, the translation was so bad I almost gave up but it does improve a little bit once they got an editor to clean up. The events at chapter 75 almost made me give up again (cause am not into angst) but I persevered as the story is well worth reading.

It's a danmei about gaming, livestreaming and e-sports but also has heavy themes like poverty, su*cide, revenge and parental neglect. It is a bittersweet novel, with good measures of both fluff and angst. MC is a penniless but... more>> couragous teen and ML is a philosophy student in America, who has his own family issues and is himself equally penniless but still tries to help MC whenever and however he can. The 2 protags connected by a case of mistaken identity, by a twist of fate, just like a pair of fated lovers. The romance starts very slow which is normal in view of their circumstances. We witness the growth of their feelings but also the growth of MC, from a depressed, lonely malnourished teen to a more confident, stronger and happier teen, with his own circle of friends. <<less

The original plot was very sad.

I'm glad the rebirth character had enough conscience to be a good side character that caused a butterfly effect to change the whole story.

A little warmth was enough to safe people.

Cried so much you all have no idea. Had to read this taking breaks because I was getting mentally bad and I believe this is the first novel to make me feel so many things in small time.

I have no words to describe this novel more than almost perfection. MC is relatable and ML is... well, I would say relatable too but he isn't but he just feels relatable.

Recommended. Totally recommended.

Would rate it a 4, I enjoyed the romance and the gaming part, but the Translation made this almost unreadable. I had to take multiple breaks and come back to it b/c it required so much mental editing for it to make any sense at all. The ML does become a cold, powerful CEO due to dog-blooded mu*derous and stereotypical rich family drama, but the fact that no one felt 1-D helped keep it interesting. Would have been a 5 if there had been a better translation.

I really like this novel especially how the author portrayed the MC and the ML's journey towards a happy life.

It was not a light read. It was slow burn with some angsty and depressive scenes but worry not, it's HE. Though I teared up at the last extra chapters. The contrast between the whole novel and the last 2 extra chapters made me a little sad.

I've read a review about how manipulative the relationship between the protagonists is. I agree but I also have to clarify that it is not... more>> creepy. The ML tends to be a little controlling towards the MC but it is with a good cause. The MC was not the healthiest out there but he tends to be a little willfull. He overplays, staying up late training, loves eating too much sweet, and sometimes, even forgetting to eat. Without the ML interfering, the MC might collapse due to his bad habits. So yeah.

The translation was not the best especially on the earlier chapters and on the gaming terms but I've felt the dedication of the translator and the editor. So, kudos to them. <<less

it was cute ✅

the angst ripped into my soul

but sadly I couldn’t fully enjoy the story cause the gaming terms didn’t make a lot of sense to me and reading those bits became a headache

This is a very good story. The author is so amazing on how he/she conceptualized everything to create a perfect connections between the characters and be able to tell more about the story through leaving some hints. Especially after reading the last story in the extra, you'll be able to understand how it fits all together. Its such a beautiful story that I don't want to transmigrate into.
