I fell into a harem manga and became a magical girl.

I just wanted to become a government employee and live a carefree life without getting involved with the main characters, but…

“I love you.”

The main heroine, who was supposed to confess to the protagonist, confessed to me instead.

…Why?

Just started and I’m already enjoying this. It’s so fun. What’s better than a magical girl that’s feared by both their allies and their enemies alike, but loved by the public.

Magical Bloodfist because she’s uses her fist to punch the criminal into unconsciousness, using her iconic move, magical punch! I love it, she even has a fanbase.

I Eventually dropped this, because the MC gets set up as not wanting to be involved with the protagonists/the story but keeps allowing herself to get involved with little to no reason, with the excuses that "force" the MC into involving herself becoming less and less justifiable.

This story is really funny, the whole gender bender aspect of it is really a back burner explanation for why the MC is so clueless with women but overall it makes the magical girl aspect that much funnier. In name, they are a magical girl but in reality they are treated like a horseman of the apocalypse, which is a funny dynamic.

It looks like it might have yuri harem potential but idk yet so I'll have to keep reading to find out.

*it seems the novel was discontinued

4 ⭐ Enjoyable, with some issues that slightly ruin the enjoyment.

Please don't shy away when you see magical girl in the title. Why? Because it's very different from the norm, just like how MachiMahou managed to distinguished itself. It is very fun to read, if you don't mind yuri and gender bender.

Summary

Spoiler

The protagonist is transmigrated into a comic that uses a hero, villain, monster, and gate as themes.

She was previously a man but possessed a girl body at 18. The story starts when she's 23. (Regrettably, this time span was skip) Despite being a girl for 5y her mentality remains masculine. The one on the cover with blonde hair is Shin Hye-Rim our protagonist.

Shin Hye-Rim is a magical girl with sword as a staff, but she mainly use her fist. Earning her the moniker "Magical Bloodfist". She appears to be very strong, to the point where she thinks her fist is enough to solve everything with no need to use her magical ability. (Naturally, there're tent**les, but she's too strong for a fan service to happen. Sadge)

The premise of the story is that the protagonist is a police for the supernatural people, and she's trying to slack off by letting the main character and his harem solved all her work duty because they're trouble magnets.

The catch is that, she's very dense and her interaction with the heroines made them infatuated with her in a comedic way. As of now, the MC of the comic doesn't held much relevance to the story.

Critique

Spoiler

Right now, I have 2 critiques that are worth mentioning.

1. One dimensional villain

2. Force emotions (e.g. The intense emotions the protagonist has for the heroine and how the heroine started liking the protagonist even when she saw her torture a villian)

I feel like this novel was made for me. It includes all the tags I like and the plot absolutely delivers on utilizing them. The synopsis doesn't say much about the actual story but it's about a magical girl who uses her fists to brutally beat enemies into a bloody mess, occasionally also intervening in the main plot of the manga she's in to move the story along ... more>>

although she's altered it quite a bit unknowingly.

It's just a lot of fun and I hope the author will update it soon, not sure what's going on with them. <<less

Star Rating: 3/5

5: This is going on my lifetime favorites

4: Very good read

... more>> 3: Okay, satisfactory

2: Didn't like it for several reasons

1: Did not finish, do not recommend

Setting: 3/5

- This story's world is pretty generic - just every-day Korea with portals to an alternate dimension leaking monsters into the real world and heroes coming to deal with them.

- The fun thing about this is that the focus isn't on those heroes in this story, it's on a group of government officials whose purpose is to deal with problematic superpowered humans instead of monsters. The main character is the leader for Team 5 of the Awakened Crime Division, and their main purpose is to deal with any human troublemakers that use their powers for wrong - from delinquents in gangs causing a ruckus to arrogant superheroes that need to be taken down a peg to national terrorists threatening thousands of innocent civilians.

- The power system isn't really explained properly and is just swept under the rug. The author uses this to their advantage to come up with random convenient bullsh*t to progress the plot sometimes.

- Overall, nothing new. Fun setting but it's not explored as much as I think it could be, 3/5.

Main Characters: 3/5

- Main character is a surprisingly smart character, despite being written as romantically dense.

- Team 5 of the Awakened Crime Division has fun vibes.

- Main love interests aren't interesting and are all pretty shallow in my opinion.

- The Good: You get to know the characters quite well because each situation is written in multiple PoVs.

- The Bad: You get to realize that the side characters aren't that deep - pretty tropey.

- Overall, I like the main character and her team. Her love interests are w/e, 3/5.

Plot/Pacing: 2/5

- The pacing is pretty quick, but at the same time it feels like it drags on because the author writes multiple PoVs for each event. Lot of interesting situations get resolved quickly because the main character is op.

- Instead of focusing on main events, the plot progression focuses more on the side characters trying to get into the MC's pants.

- Overall, it's meh, 2/5.

Overall Writing: 3/5

- Writing is pretty clear and easy to read. Good job to both the author and the translator.

- Vocab used isn't very complex though, but can't expect much from a random romcom harem.

- Overall, didn't expect much, didn't get much, but what I did get was better than I expected, 3/5.

Enjoyability Factor: 3/5

- I like the main character's personality and how ridiculous her public image is. Fun character with a fun setting.

- Side characters are meh and I'm not a big fan of harems.

- Not something I'd go out of my way to read, but I don't regret reading it, 3/5. <<less
