After five years, Ning Xi has returned and is out to take revenge on the sister who turned her parents against her and the childhood sweetheart who betrayed her for her sister. She aims to fulfill her childhood dream and become a famous actress. However, her sister is still out to get her, and she has to avoid all her underhanded schemes.

I love this novel. It's just so interesting that I cannot help but read the raws ahead just to quench my thirst for this story. Although at first I read it for the sake of knowing how they (Ning Xi and Lu Tingxiao) got married, but the more I read the more I read it for the plot. And little bun is the cutest!!!!

Although Ning Xi has the Mary Sue quality (i.e: beautiful, strong, silly but smart, etc.), but most importantly to me is that she's not annoying and pretty much straight to the point. I like how although Lu Tingxiao already have everything, Ning Xi decided to "nurture" him and make him her 'wife' lol And true to the synopsis, Lu Tingxiao spoiled Ning Xi to the high heavens...... except when she's injured. I actually laughed when in ch900++ where Ning Xi accidentally fell from a cliff but managed to climb back, but when Lu Tingxiao sees her injured but still try to pass it off as nothing he got so angry he asked her to show how she fell again. In the end she got collared by the Great Demon Lord Lu XD And Little Treasure is a real treasure <3

Among the side characters, Lu Jingli is definitely the best. He's your ever supportive no.1 shipper, brother, and friend all in one! You can abuse this single dog and feed him countless dog food until he turns blind and he's only gonna whine because 1.) You're his dearest big bro/sister-in-law/lil nephew 2.) The source for his gossip soul 3.) NING XI'S FOOD IS DELICIOUS so only idiot will court death with her. Oh, and he also keeps a vegetable garden (which he personally cares for) complete with siren for intruders, he's your cinnamon roll too pure for this world okay!

tl;dr: Although the story is kinda dragging on when Ning Xi and Lu Tingxiao is getting married (or on how Lu Tingxiao get Little Treasure), but hey the novel is funny and short, the main characters other than the antagonist and onlookers are pretty sensible, and Big Brother Ning Xi is very cool. Very worth reading, totally recommended.

This is the 1st light novel I have ever read. Truly a gem. I spent 3 full days to binge read it, I spent only 2 hrs of sleep each day just so I could finish this book. One of my favs and truly a gem. The story line isn't particularly deep, but it's very engaging.

It has about 2k+ chapters, so be prepared to be hooked if u like this kind of books.

I'll recommend it for those who are looking for a modern life, doting, comedy, with a pinch of... more>> face-slapping from time to time.

Xiao Xi is one of the best female out there, she has the skills to protect herself after learning them the harsh way but also has the innocent charm. Her attitude is top-notch and her manners are also perfect. She is the kind of person who is willing to give up her life to protect someone precious to her. She has her flaws, even cries when it gets too hard but is strong enough to show her feelings and heal herself. The author was skilled in her portayal of her growth from her troubled past to her current solid footing in reality.

Big Bun is always there for Xiao Xi. He helps her in every way he can. He is very possessive but tries his very best to keep himself check as he knows that Xiao Xi loves him and only him. He gets easily jealous and always makes sure to take care of her so called followers XD. He is very patient and takes time and know when to take a step back.

Little Bun is a ray of hope and sun shine to Xiao Xi. He was not given love since he was young and that made him very reserved and closed to the outside world. He is a very intelligent and is very lovable. He is the very first rival of Big Bun. He is very childish and acts his age when ever Xiao Xi is around, but becomes a carbon copy of his father when ever she isn't around😈XD.

The characters all have their own charm, and they way they all interact with each other is fun to read and will always make u laugh. Some times the story gets down like we were about to lose someone, well we knew we wouldn't lose that certain someone but the way it was portrayed made it very realistic.

We get 2 children in the end and how the 2nd child wraps the whole family around the child’s pinky finger XD. <<less

I actually really liked this. It was actually my first Chinese novel. Ning Xi is an actress and Lu Tingxiao falls in love with her especially because his son likes her. His son is described as autistic in the beginning but he actually isn't, he's mute because he went through a traumatic experience.

She's also really good at gender bending and causes girls to fall in love with her male disguise. Just a part that I enjoyed from the novel.

I don't think there was any drama in between them but all the drama comes from the outside. Like Lu Tingxiao will literally be painting her nails and taking pictures for her. He just loves her so much. <<less

The amount of times I've read this book is alarming.

I LOVE everything about this book, but especially Little Treasure, ah 😍🥺😭. The MC ofcourse sometimes makes me wanna slap her brain into sense, the ML is the coolest imo even the second ML, Yun Shen won over my heart... ❤️❤️❤️.

The only this that I'm a little sad about is the unfinished stories of the supporting characters, especially Lu Jingli, I really wish to know about his love life, and Mo Lingtian and Ning Tiaxin too. But well, nothing... more>> is always perfect. I recommend if you looking for some fun, smooth and slightly exciting face slapping with a totally smitten ML, this is the book. <<less

MY FAVE NOVEL wow it has everything I want to read! Flirty FL, hot ML, cute baby, fluffy romance, acting, CEO, strong villains that make you so mad but they dont die easily hence strong, hot and funny male supporting characters for us readers to love, surprisingly good action. Must read if you have the time, so worth it.

I didn't really have a nice impression of this novel and the first hundred chapters (i guess?) feels s*upid to me. I mean their first encounter and ML's reaction was exaggerated. I can take little bun's reaction bec of some instinct and sh*t but the ML's? Nah. He's supposedly someone who's not easily swayed and someone who has seen a lot of beauties but okay. Since they're built to be together then fine.

Although there were parts and details that were s*upid and repetitive I still kept reading because it entertained... more>> me. I think you should give this a try and read up until around 200-300 chapters to check if you like it. The chapters are really short so it's fine.

My favorite character here is definitely Lu Jingli. THE BEST. I also agree to the ppl who said that the last few volumes were kind of dragging. I kept on skipping them just to get to the parts that I want. <<less

I started reading it when it was completely translated, so although each chapter is very short, I did not experience any cliffhangers. I totally did not binge read 2 thousand chapters in week.

The novel is fun. Personally, as someone who never really liked stories where the MC is in the entertainment industry, I was fully enjoying myself when I read about all that happened, be it the drama, the satisfying triumphs or even the twists and turns experienced by the MC. I believe the readers will not be burdened by... more>> any excessive info-dump just for the sake of details.

Suspense, action and thrill is also present without going into super powers while still giving an OP feeling of some characters. The plot of the novel won't blow your mind; there are predictable tropes. However, it is a satisfying read capable of manipulating your emotions.

Give it a try. It may not be for everyone but you will be able to decide after reading about 50 chapters in (to be safe). I'm sad but fulfilled that it ended. :) <<less

I decided to give this novel a chance because I f*cking LOVED Perfect Secret Love and because this is one of the most highly-rated novels on Webnovel. Maybe it's just me since I'm extremely critical of romance novels but, I don't really like it...

It's so stereotypical and cliché that it makes me gag lmaoo (exaggeration ofc) The first couple chapters tell us how she got drugged by the woman who got swapped with her at birth and 'stole' her real family, her 'sister'. Then she accidentally slept with a man... more>> that she thought was her crush/ex that's actually in love with the sister and got pregnant. She tragically gets in a car accident and lost her baby then there's a 5-year time skip where she moved abroad and came back. It hasn't been revealed yet but it's so painfully obvious that I don't even need to put in a spoiler tag - the man she actually slept with was probably the ML and his son is clearly her child.

The female lead, Ning Xi, is quite likeable but her IQ is a little questionable... I know, I know, it's for the sake of the plot but like c'mon...

It's mentioned that she had a lot of exes when she was abroad and they are quite powerful/famous like that Jiang Muye guy but she's suppressed by her sister, Ning Xueluo?? b*tch, it really ain't that deep just ask for a little help, what the f*ck?? But noooo, she doesn't like 'owing people'

The male lead, Lu Tingxiao is so... idk weird? illogical? To me, the first meeting of the ML and FL is THE MOST important part of the romance so it must be natural. (I know it's kinda ironic since I love PSL and the way the author introduced that ML was not very good but, even though it took over 1000 chapters to find out how YWW and SYH first met, they had such a beautiful, fun, enemies-to-lovers/Romeo and Juliet-esque romance)

I personally DESPISE 'Love at first sight' romances and that's basically how the ML fell in love with her. It's too superficial for my liking. They were both drugged and slept together, 5 years later they meet once again and he for some reason feels an insane, illogical attraction towards her. And he's supposed to be a cold aloof CEO that's rumoured to be gay due to his indifference to women? Uh-huh.... :|

Then he somehow manages to scam our MC into living together by using the fact that his child really likes her??!? They're not even dating yet he has the audacity to get mad at her for hanging out with another man. He also kisses her to the point of bleeding WHILST she's sleeping because of his jealousy. This all happens in less than 70 chapters btw lol.

I'll probably continue reading since I know the author is amazing at writing counterattacks and face slapping people because I really want to see that b*tch, Ning Xueluo, and the Ning family's downfall lmao <<less

This was one of the first novels I have ever read when introduced to the world of CN novels and really made a lasting impression on me.

I remember that the MC was a very poor soul who did nothing wrong but had to be at the mercy of her despicable so called 'blood-related' family and constantly targeted by a very very very (note the word 'very') villainous white lotus bit*h that just cannot leave the MC alone peacefully for a single day since she is a very vain woman I... more>> guess 🙄🙄 The previous ex of the MC was literally a human scum whose a complete coward and treasures a fish eye instead of the pearl - well he deserved it. The ML was just your typical cold aloof CEO that just happened to bed the MC accidently during one of the white lotus b*tch's scheme towards the MC - and yeah, a complete love ball gentle tyrant toward the MC throughout the whole story. The kid of our MC and ML was also very cute and sweet, very smart - so smart that it's unrealistic and already crosses the realm of human beings nevermind just a small child. The acting career of our MC was also very well laid out by the author, glamorous, skilled, so beautiful that it transcended immortal beauties.

Then however, towards the end of the story, fantasy pops in out of nowhere, cultivation side couples coming in with their own little side story, the MC's baby literally resurrected from the dead due to an unbelievable cultivation technique at the time of his birth and then a single whistle summoning a cultivator who designs clothes to save the day - hmm yeah sceptical but definitely exciting 🤣

All in all, it was a good modern romantic story at the beginning and then somehow morphing into a fantasy sort of genre - sure made no sense but it is fun at least. Now that I look back on it, it really was one of those novels that pretty much had cliches everywhere and a lot of plot holes that doesn't really make much sense but it is definitely undeniable that it had a lasting impression on me when I first started out reading CN novels - a fantastical experience worth reminiscing over 😁 5 stars just because it was one of my favourite starter novels haha 😄 <<less

HI! I just can’t bear to see the ratings hxjdd so i’m here. Give this novel a try if you‘re a fan of slow-burn kind of novels. Finally done. I've finished the novel, it has a good plot. It ended in chapter 2165.

don’t get mad at the first chapters. Even in around chapter 1000+ the twists did not reveal easily.

every move of them has a reason. Characters are rounded, and the introduced side characters often appear significant in certain chapters. I love the characters! I love them all and I... more>> hate some of them but everyone introduced really matter. They all help ning xi to achieve ning xi’s goals, lmaoo

the plot is soo good. It was slow-burn. There are lots of twists! It kept surprising me. Although, I feel like whenever some plot twists unfold, it ends abruptly. Like the author just dropped the truth and that’s it. But I also kind of like it that way. They just accept things easily. Even tho it seemed something was missing but it’s a breathe of fresh air to me, not a lot of drama. Every holes in the story are explained, it’s a bit frustrating because it folds Really Slowly but it just falls into its right places. Everything just makes sense at the end.

bUT I still feel like even everything was resolved, it lacks on some point? Even the ending feels abrupt. Like it was rushed. But I like it the novel so muuuuch! Might seem like the MC and ML are op, but trust me. There are still some characters that are even beyond the protagonists’ power. Bwahahahha.

Either way, this novel is really good. I like it~ the ending feels.. Idk it’s nice and HE but the author did not really describe things in details but I am satisfied. Thanks to the translators and ofc, the author!<3 <<less

It's a typical revenge plot with pregnancy, Male Lead as CEO and FL who kinda acquires OP skills after few years gap. And I took almost 10 days to read it. But well, they didn't overdo it too much. It's fine to read it once if you are looking for a change from your favourite genre...

And the reason I gave it 4.5 is, well I'm not satisfied with the ending of the side characters. I mean, there aren't any side stories related to them and it's up to your imagination...

Overall, it's a nice read. Bruh, I don't know how to explain this. The female lead is literally an overpowered character who can not be defeated by normal people. Male lead is an extremely rich guy who utilizes his son to win female lead over. The arcs aren't what I'd call repetitive so even rereading it multiple times is still fun.

Extra warning though. It does have loopholes and have bizarre points.

First of all, why did she only become smartly badass and tough after Little Bun and Big Bun showed up? If it was that way, she wouldn't have been bullied to that extent and she could have exposed her sister earlier.

Next, ah... it's pretty normal but her ex does not match his description. Too narcissistic tch. Says that he knew Ning Xi, he should have known that even the past Ning Xi has her own morals and principles.

Tbh, it wasn't so good at first. An overpowered MC and ML and they will the trample the bad guys together with their friends that act as sidekicks. That summarizes the plot. I got a little complain on the ending becaue it felt so rush even after thousands of chapter but it's not too much of a big deal for me because all of the mysteries and questions are answered, it was still a good ending.

I was going to drop this because I don't like characters without depth and not... more>> dimensional. But I decide to continue it because I can't bear to leave without seeing the antagonists being destoyed and will be a laughing stock and got crushed into bits. Lol. But I got to enjoy the characters after completely reading it.

I didn't expect it to be so entertaining for me because this is not my cup if tea but the plot is really unexpected as the story progresses and it became enjoyable to me

the ex of the MC is the half brother of ML and the family of the producer of the hollywood movie the MC acts in turns out to be one of their biggest enemy

And I literally cried while my tears rolling down nonstop on one of the subplot with the side characters. I feel sad for them even after the end of the story.

the cousin of the MC got pregnant on accident by the friend of the ml. Then the cousin of the MC decided to abort the child in order not to bind the friend of the ml, the friend of the ML didn't get to stop it from happening and he regretted it so much. At the end, the cousin of the MC got moved on while the friend of the ML only watch her from afar

If you want a much more realistic plot with ups and down then this story is not for you but if you want a strong MC and ML with a good chemistry with a very comical scenes then I recommend this to you. Doesn't have good unique plot but quite entertaining <<less

one of my ultimate faves.

i thought I was gonna drop it halfway coz I didn't really expect much from it considering that there aren't a lot of great chinese translated novels with over 2k chapters.

im thankful that the update was fast so I didn't really get bored from it. The MC is op but still realistic coz she's dealing with past trauma and I love how the ML didn't just comfort her but helped her get over it since he wants to be responsible for the incident that happened between... more>> them even if its just an accident caused by other people.

all in all, its a good story to read especially if you have a lot of time since it has a lot of chapters. <<less

This wasn't exactly a bad novel or anything tbh it was quite entertaining, just that it was really cliche and most of the plot didn't really go well with logic and commonsense so don't think too deeply when reading it or you'll just end up rolling your eyes. Also some times it feels like the author just mushed together many famous novel ideas together to form this gender bender, entertainment industry, assassin, mafia, etc. And other than the people who support the FL all the characters who sided with the... more>> villainess just seems brain dead, but overall the novel is quite enjoyable if you don't pay attention to all this. <<less

It's been a few weeks ago since I hv finished this novel. Just like everyone here, I gave 5 stars because it deserved it!

Comparing Hidden Marriage vs. Perfect Secret Love is necessary since a lot of resemblance of the plot you can find on both novel such as Silver haired men, White Tiger, an adorable 5 yo bastard son, possesive husband, otherworldly kungfu masters, working on entertainment field, a white lotus sister etc. Which is fine by me since the author just took the idea from her own novel, it... more>> couldn't be critisized as plagiriasing someone else idea.

To put it plainly, from my perspective, Hidden Marriage has more mature and steady approach both from the plot and writing. While Perfect Secret Love is much more hilarious and has a strong comedy. I love both.

If you are looking for beautiful romance, try Hidden Marriage. If you'd like more light and funny romance, take Perfect Secret Love instead. Or.. Just read both! <<less

at first I didn't really like Yun Shen because I think he's too extreme but after reading it more and more I began to like him more. He really love MC but can't express it in a good way. And when the wedding scene of MC and male lead, it's totally breaking my heart when he choosed to watch from afar. He love MC and even give up on revenge when it's dangered the MC. I think he became my favourite male lead after Lu Tingxiao

Honestly, I loved this novel. I've read it till the end and it doesn't disappoint. I guess the reason why I read all the way is that the antagonist (which is the sister of the MC) wasn't exposed till the near end chapter and the way 'karma' got her was really satisfying. Honestly, I was waiting for that. It does get a little boring near the end but even then it's good. The plot is good, the translation is on the mark, the story line doesn't stray. I love it! The female MC is too cool, however, I do wish she is not so forgiving to people.

The story progression while sometimes gets a little too long, generally it's a smooth and interesting read. There are times when I cried or laughed when I'm reading it.

Generally, if you want a badass female lead do read this!
