She, Huang Shang Rong, is a demoness who runs her office with an iron fist.

He, Xu He Jun, is her miracle cure, no, personal assistant, who got the job because his ancestors have done a lot of good deeds and blessed him with a strong Yang aura. Just by touching him or drinking his coffee is enough to chase away her blues and curb her bad temper. But why did he apply for long leave suddenly?

Turns out that he has a baby on the sly, and the mother abandoned his baby at his door, causing an upheaval to his life and nipping his budding romance with his current girlfriend. Ay, so poor thing. This young man is already dirt poor, how could he afford to take care of a baby? As his boss, she decided to step in and help him manage his time, manage his finances, set up an infant care at the office, and even volunteered to be the baby’s God mother.

Looking at his second-hand furniture, she even helped to buy a Simmons and ended up testing the new mattress with him. When he brought her back to meet his parents, she got a shock to find that they were staying at Di Bao (a high-class residential zone). So he is actually a rich man pretending to be poor? Why did he deceive everyone?

As the translator, there'll obviously be some bias, but it's a cute story with a nice mix of romance, comedy and a little drama. Since it's short, it doesn't really cover a lot, nor does it contain several twists that will leave you in awe, but it's well paced and well written, covering everything it needs to deliver a sound story without dragging things out. The male lead, Xu He Jun, finds out he's a father when his child is left on his doorstep. Not knowing what to do, he... more>> finds an unlikely supporter in Huang Shang Rong, his boss and the company demoness. As they interact, he realizes she isn't the severe woman he thought she was, while she discovers he isn't as simple as he seems, allowing them to develop a deeper respect and understanding of each other in their own way.

As for why it's only 4, when I read a story this closely, I tend to nitpick at all the flaws. But honestly, while it does what it sets out to do, it was never intended as an unforgettable classic or a must read masterpiece. Just a really good, solid short story. <<less

Nice short but sweet tale that throws in a twist around chapter 7 I think. Because of it short nature there isn't alot of bs that other stories would input drama. Both MCs are reasonable and actually interesting characters with depth and reasonable mindsets. (Though I do find the female's intention a bit convoluted but its not wholly without merit.)

You will be disappinted if you were in it for the intial chemistry of will they, won't they. Most of the flirting already happened on screen in the past. It's... more>> more doki doki family bonding and then coming to terms of being in a relationship. <<less

This is a straightforward romance, uncluttered by anguish and drama that usually appear on most others of the same genre. Nonetheless, it is pretty well-written; it doesn't feel rushed despite having only 10 chapters (plus prologue and epilogue). The two protagonists are pretty level-headed, and the twists are not so unexpected, but their interaction are cute ^^

A short romance story between son of corp's president and the tough working woman with a bit of supenatural instilled as the medium. The guy plays as the poor man even though being very rich. The girl plays as the muscle man even though being soft tofu inside. Though this plot is deployed million of times, it's still good because of writing style. Good translation plus very short length makes this novel worth reading. You won't be sorry at all.

Well written drama, although a little trope-y it has a satisfying ending and even pace throughout~ which made it quite enjoyable to read. The main female lead is a hard worker, smart, independent and likeable in an office setting and home life. The huddy is good all around, although is a bit cheat (playing all good for nothing at the beginning).

genuinely quite a nice short story to read, and the events don't seemed crammed or rushed despite the lack of chapters and arguably it was quite a slow romance~

From the synopsis alone, the personalities are giving me a "The Proposal" flashback.
Reading it, however, they're completely different. Mr. Assistant definitely has the subtitle of a playboy under his job title, and the Demoness manager has completely fallen--for the baby I mean. Hopefully she doesn't fall for the new dad too soon, that'd be a little disappointing. Though I now notice that this only has 10 chapters, so it might be a long shot. For now, I'm still have hope that the development of the story and characters will... more>> be decent despite those conditions. (4/5) <<less

This is DEFINITELY one of the best reads I've had.... As I'm writing this review, I want you to know that this is the 3rd time I read this... I believe it's that good. It's funny how the MC is gullible... and the ML, devious.

Anyway, it's a great read. The plot isn't complicated. No evil parents, just funny and easygoing ones. A short and entertaining story.

This is so gooooddd!!! It's the first time I've read a novel here that's as short as 10 chapters. But it doesn't disappoint.

This is a light read, as the plot isn't too serious nor dramatic. It is more on fluffy, cute, amusing, and funny.

Spoiler

The story began with the ML, Xu He Jun, suddenly finding a baby in his doorstep with a letter addressed to him saying he's the father.

Anyway, the story revolves on the interactions between the ML and the MC, Huang Shang Rong, who is known as the office's demoness because of her fierce and strict character.

The MC is very concerned with the ML's struggles with the baby in his "poor" condition. But unbeknownst to her, the ML is actually from a very wealthy and prominent family that just happen to be living the ordinary, impoverished life!

I feel like this story has a great potential to be a longer novel. The plot has so much to offer, honestly.

So I'll be giving this story a 5 stars because it deserves it! I hope to read more stories as great as this one. :) <<less

Really adorable female lead. A really smart and strong girl but also soft in the inside and a little clumsy in some things. It is a really nice romcom story with a nice ending too.

Enjoyed reading this light novel. I like the interactions between the Male and Female Lead especially the epilogue... it was amusing to see the Male lead's future "hardship" in getting a daughter.... hehehe...

My complaints are the Female lead is not honest.

She's not honest from the start actually, and yet she blamed the ML when she found out that he was hiding his real filthy rich identity. She honestly shouldn't even mad, even I, as a prideful but reasonable person, would simply said "Oh..." when my boyfriend, soon-to-be husband revealed that "Eh, sorry, I was actually really rich. I was afraid you would run away if I revealed it."

I will only be REALLY embarrassed. Not mad. But she? She threw a tantrum and... more>> condemned him. I hate that scene so much. Like, girl, you got a younger man, willing to give all his money for you to manage, someone you deceived, someone you exploited, yet you still got the nerve to be mad?

And then, she lied again at him afterward.

Spoiler

The first lie being the mother of ML's son was actually hers, yet she hide it and even pretended to not know it when ML asked her about it. Pretty sure that was WAY MUCH MORE SERIOUS than the measly "You hide your ultra-rich identity from me." Period. No question asked.

The second lie being her ability of seeing ghost and ML's Yang aura which warded off evil spirits. That was the sole reason why she climbed on his bed when he was drunk, yet, when he asked her HOW did that night happened, she lied. I got frustrated at that. You're husband and wife, you ought to be honest to your spouse, I'd tell my husband that I actually could see ghost but his presence warded them off which was the reason I felt close to him. But NOOOO nope. "he'll get the wrong idea and think of me as an evil yang-sucking witch"

Bloody hell, you're married to him yet you're still- ugh SO DIFFICULT?!! This is a simple matter, your husband would believe you, he loves you so much! It's just a matter that YOU can SEE SOMETHING THAT OTHERS CAN'T!!

It's not like you were through some IMPORTANT THING such as reincarnation or transmigration, THEN you might feel worried had people thought that YOU were an evil spirit possessing a body of dead woman. I'll excuse it if it was transmigration or reincarnation, since that was really (deadly) important to be kept until you're dead, but THIS? No.

This was fun and highly stimulating. The pacing was good and the plot itself was clever. It's simple and clean except for the hint of supernatural that wasn't fully explored but that's neither here nor there since it did not affect the flow that much. If you need a short respite and need something light to elevate your boredom, this is a good fit. This is best when you've just read something that broke your heart.",)

I really loved this! I especially liked Huang Shang Rong. It is rare for female leads to actually be independent. I love how the male lead is the one being indulged and cared for, usually. It is cute.

It is a cute novel with a lot of things I still don't understand. There are supernatural creatures that are responsible for the plot but their backgrounds and work is not clearly depicted. Instead of using some locig to explain some parts of the novel, the author is only saying "It happened, because I said so"
