It is the seventh work of the Chronicles of Syndroia, and is set in 2089-90, 70 years after the previous work, Above Your Head.

Living in the medieval land for 20 years, but it turns out that place was inside a game?

“Thank you so much for participating in the interview! These days, it seems like we can see Sir Jaeyeon’s face everywhere as you are actively engaged. Sir Jaeyeon, what do you think is the driving force behind such passion?”

“It’s the in-game purchases.”

“Oh, really! In-game purchases…yes?”

“Because you have to work harder to make in-game purchases.”

“Ah, I see…?!”

Making in-game purchases allows you to obtain items and abilities! However, in the end, don’t you have to earn money to make in-game purchases?

Today, as well as tomorrow, the knight works hard.

I found that it's easiest for me to just MTL this myself. That is, using Google Translate in combo with DeepL provides a more readable story that makes more sense than what is posted by the fan translator group.

This is a pretty interesting plot concept, a twist on the ordinary Transported into a Game World, gaming or litRPG novels. It's kind of like those Chinese plane trader novels but with a game system instead of a plane trading system (and his game inventory has more complex rules than a plane... more>> trading system). It also has a slight similarity to 'Let Me Game in Peace', but the main difference is the way the game itself is pay to win.

The MC is a social outcast that's disliked by his own family and separated from his parents, can't get a job due to poor reputation and mediocre academic achievements, even disliked by his fellow soldiers and superior officers while in the army. That's because he has a headstrong, stubborn and overconfident personality -- a person that likes to get in fights since childhood, loving to rescue weaker people from bullies, preferring to solve problems with his fists. At first he just thinks his personality is not suitable for a modern peaceful environment and wishes he could have been born in a medieval time period when it was normal for people to act like him (and even become famous for it). Then he gets thrown inexplicably into a strange Western/European type medieval fantasy world for 20 years. After 20 years, he realizes he's in a game that has somehow been turned into a real world. He also realizes that the him of 20 years ago was very immature (imho it's refreshing that the MC can acknowledge his own flaws). He has the ability to travel between the game world and Earth (with his physical body), which is a big cheat/hack for living in both worlds.

I saw some comments from Korean readers who said this novel is the best written out of the series, with the author's writing style gaining more maturity. I think this is an entertaining type of novel just from reading the first few chapters, since it's nice to read about a less predictable setting. I have noticed the author tends to make the MC a bit exaggerated, like how he defeated 40 (normal human) bullies when he was younger (unrealistic much?).

Note on genres:

Sci-fi: Novel set on Earth of the future, starting out in 2089. Earth in the novel has a lot of high tech stuff like advanced levels of AI that can carry on normal conversations with NPCs in a video game, or anthropomorphic smart phones (phones that take the appearance of small pets).

Fantasy: MC lives partially in a fantasy world, a world based on a video game called Revenge. It's a world where low level magical beasts exist while humans can use magic to a limited extent. There are also some fantasy settings on the novel's Earth which are inherited from the last novel in the series, such as people can use mana, the existence of gods and priests that use divine power (on Earth).

Harem: I checked the tags posted by the author on Kakaopage, and harem was one of those listed along with Apocalypse, Mercenaries, Dimensional Shift, and a few others.

Update about romance and the FLs:

The romance is minimal, and not really annoying. There is a problem I noticed about the FL characters which probably only a female reader would notice.
Spoiler

They all basically have massive cup size (his first lover probably around H cup, since they are described as "much bigger than F cup"). Massive b**bs is fine, but these women are also athletes and warriors. For ordinary humans, having very large breasts makes it basically impossible to participate in track and field and other vigorous athletic activities, because your b**bs will bounce (even if you stack a set of sports bras, which are not available in the medieval era) so much that you get significant back pain. The only professional athlete I know of, Serena Williams, competes with somewhat large cup size. But, the FLs in the book have even larger cup size than her... As a woman reading this, I can't help but think this setting is too unrealistic. I can easily imagine the female warrior characters with cup size up to DD, but if it gets well past the range of F cup then I can only cringe at the crippling pain that person would be in... kind of ruins that part for me.

There's no real issue with misogynistic thinking by this male author, which is refreshing. An example that surprised me is that
Spoiler

the first woman he had a relationship got pregnant, but he respected her decision to not give birth (the fetus was aborted, even though the MC could sense the heartbeat, which could possibly trigger readers who are strongly anti-abortion). You can't really blame the MC for the accidental pregnancy, because in the game/fantasy world he had been infertile for over 20 years. And he couldn't exactly get cond*ms in that world because there's no plastic (medieval science) and he couldn't get it from his game inventory (Revenge couldn't have "cond*m drops" in the game, right? lol).
