Please use proper spacing and paragraphs.Tao Ti, a little taotie* cub, transmigrated and became the bride of the sickly crown prince who was meant to chase out his ill fortune, but ended up committing su*cide by ingesting poison.
Met by the disgusted gazes of everyone in the Eastern Palace, Tao Ti was a little flustered.
Just then, the crown prince who was rumoured to soon die from illness comforted her, “Don’t be scared, I’ll give you a letter of annulment before I die, and return you your freedom.”
Tao Ti was stunned, “A-alright.”
Inwardly, she thought, “A gentle and beautiful man; I’m fine with this!!!”
Later——
When the crown prince was ridiculed, Tao Ti rolled up her sleeves to defend him.
When the crown prince was sick with a high fever, Tao Ti boiled the medicine herself.
When the crown prince’s appetite was poor, Tao Ti cooked, fried, steamed, and baked.
Everyone in the Eastern Palace: Safeguard the best crown princess in the world!
~
The prince of the outlying tribe was muscular and bold; he planned to abduct Taoti to the grasslands once the crown prince died.
The crown prince broke the prince’s leg, then, in the middle of the night, blocked Tao Ti.
Tao Ti’s voice trembled, “Your… Your Highness?”
The crown prince’s eyes were dark, and his smile was warm. “If I had known that you liked wild ones, I would’ve stopped pretending.”
*T/N: Taotie are ancient Chinese mythological creatures with an insatiable appetite, commonly emblazoned on bronze vessels. It’s now used as a term to describe gluttonous people. Written as 饕餮, it’s pronounced ‘Tao Ti’ in Chinese, which happens to be a homonym of the FL’s name, 陶缇 (Tao Ti).

My only complaint is that there is no payout to the supernatural elements. The main character is a divine beast (Taoti: Something like a mystical leopard/dog with a bottomless stomach that is depicted on ancient cookware), but dont expect that plotline to payout in any meangful way
She also has a supernatural friend who is something like a mermaid
she never confesses that she is a supernatural creature inhabiting a dead woman to her husband and it never becomes a problem. She does confess she is not the original, but the ML seems to assume she is a spy and decides he doesnt care and wont question it. At one point a villian points out that she might be a ghost and that they should get some toaist monks for an exorcism, but it seems like even the author forgets they set that up as a possibility. There are also some loose threads that remain loose by the end:
1) the FLs 13th uncle was an imortal divine beast who lived in ancient China, and is repeatedly brought up but never appears. I was expecting to meet either a younger 13th uncle and have some triangle drama, the 13th uncle to be the MLs secret supernaturally good shadow guard who never shows up, or the 13th uncle to end up being the FL & MLs future child. We never see his face.
2) the 13th uncle sends the FL a mysterious magic (?) gift through her mermaid friend across time & the gates of hell. It is a strange bell that never gets mentioned again. It felt like it was set up to play an important role that fizzled out
- og FL died by su*cide going into her arranged marriage with the crown prince (ML). FL transmigrates into her body and does a 180, becoming a more elegant and composed lady.
- Ofc her su*cide was instigated by the cunning third prince who seduced her :')
- Palace drama: the empress is not the crown prince's mom (who died beforehand) so she's kinda sus, crown prince is pitied throughout the palace but he has his spies going everywhere, and the FL is supposed to be a 'tool' for crown prince's scheming (... for now...)
- Food fun: ofc the FL asks for her own private kitchen and wows people with her phenomenal cooking skills. We love a good foodie supporting character.
- FL is a sucker for the ML's gorgeous face
Can't wait to read more!denseinnocent transmigrator who loves to eat and cook, adapting to the new age, conquering everyone around her with her cooking. ML is fixed from the beginning. He is also the typical possessive character who hides so deeply. Outside he is sickly gentle caring, and above all, godly gorgeous, making MC fall in love with him. While actually he is cruel, mad, doing bad things in the fight to the throne. It's more of a slice of life with cooking for the most part, and romance as the other... more>>
