Xian Sheng was a lovable yet sickly person. In order to survive, he was disguised as a girl and raised as a princess at a young age.

One day, two countries were at war and the situation was dire. He ran up to the city wall to cheer for his Elder Brother, but the Crown Prince of the enemy country spotted him.

His sharp and piercing eyes penetrated across tens of thousands of soldiers and landed on Xian Sheng’s delicate face.

With a marriage contract in exchange for peace, the two countries were in an uproar.

North Country’s Crown Prince eyed Xian Sheng covetously, promising to stop the war as soon as this beauty was in his arms.

South Country’s Royal Family was alarmed and anxious. ‘You’re trying to seize a Prince here!!!’

For temporary peace, Xian Sheng married the Crown Prince for his country. He said that his body wasn’t feeling well as an excuse in order to stall for time and avoid being exposed.

Yet the Crown Prince, Zhan Lue, was ruthless and seemingly wanted to swallow Xian Sheng alive the moment he saw him.

Day after day, the Crown Prince thought of Xian Sheng more and more because he couldn’t have a taste of him.

Forced to Marry the Enemy Prince, It wasn’t too long of a read, I think I took like two days to get through it but that might’ve just been due to my reading pace being on the slower side.

I have very mixed feelings about this, I’ll start off by saying ZZ got on my nerves before XS had revealed he was actually a man. I won’t get extremely into it but his behavior was extremely annoying and he refused to understand XS or respect him. When he was revealed to... more>> be a man, I feel like that was the part of this novel I heavily enjoyed, ZZ’s behavior and their banter is all enjoyable and the one chapter where XS tells him he needs to grow up was just ugh, I felt it in my soul.

I feel like the first half of this book was horrible, tr*sh but the second half was very enjoyable and I found myself with a smile whilst reading it. I feel like this probably isn’t the worst thing I’ve ever read but if I had to rate it, it would be a 3/5. While I heavily enjoyed after XS revealed his gender, the first half wounds me so much I wouldn’t even dream of recommending it to anyone. Not to mention, it does not even seem like XS wants to have s*xual interc**rse even when his gender is revealed. While s*x definitely did not take up a big part, I feel like if you are going to include it, you should at least make it obvious both partners are enjoying it.

On the brighter side though, I heavily enjoyed XS character, he is beautiful and smart. I will say I would’ve loved to read a novel with him in a different book because I feel like with him in it a comedy rivals to lovers book would have been perfect. Those are just my thoughts though. <<less

Love this, historical plus Mpreg just perfect! At early chapters I'm always at the edge of my seat when the Zhan Zhen will discover that Xian Sheng is a man. I cried so hard when Zhan Zhen tortured the very sickly Xian Sheng after he found out. Then comes the acceptance and they fell in love its soo sweet. Then comes the baby its so funny our ML is so childish. I love how tough and intelligent the MC is. Then its quiet refreshing that there is not much conflict... more>> in both ML and MC family, not fighting for the throne. <<less

Finally, the translation is finished and I completed reading this one. The translation is really nice. I started reading first 30 or so chapters in Wattpad and everything was a mess there. Then I continued reading the rest of the chapters from here and finally I was able to appreciate the plot of this story to a whole new level.

In the beginning of the story the plot might seem a bit twisted and forced for Xian Sheng but it would honestly lead to drastic changes in his life which are... more>> positive and really beneficial for him as time goes on. Zhan Zhen might seem cruel and very bad in the beginning of the story but he is really sweet and caring as it's seen when the plot develops further.

Even with twists and turns, issues regarding the princess of enemy kingdom being a spy or them plotting something, the traitors and conspirators, broken trust and misunderstandings, everything lead to a really beautiful outcome in the end.

I would really like to read if there is any further stories of these characters

I don’t often write reviews, but this story just made me want to share. The first part of the story really had me anxious for the MC. It was very never wracking and I didn’t want to put the story down. The last part of the story wasn’t as intense and turned very sweet and fluffy. I really enjoyed watching the characters develop and begin to trust each other.

I will say that if you want something more than entertainment, something with an incredibly intricate plot or something that makes you... more>> redefine the way you see the world, this probably will not satisfy you. It is very good for what it is—entertainment. I enjoyed every minute I spent reading it.

I will add—because it’s always something I’m looking for in the reviews I read—there are some slightly steamy scenes in the beginning, but the author doesn’t go into much detail. It’s got some steamy scenes in the beginning, but it stays pretty PG-13. No details, no smut. Still worth the read though <<less

I loved this book and 95% of that is because of ML's family. ML and his family are hilarious. I love how they interacted with each other and how openly superficial they were. They had me cracking up everytime.

It took me a while to warm up to the MC. I liked the ML right away, he was very honest. But after they dealt with MC's secret, MC and ML were lovable.

I was hooked almost immediately. One of the biggest plot devices was the MC's Big Secret and the lengths to which he tried to avoid detection. So there's sort of a cat and mouse game between the couple. There's a lot of tension and this story had me on the edge of my seat. Unfortunately, the MTL gave me a headache. I've decided to wait until the translator finishes. Other people may not find the MTL to be too bad, so give it a shot if you finish the translated... more>> chapters and just can't wait. <<less

Thanks for the hard work translating~

I would say this was a 7.5/10 for me very fluffy and feel-good little angst but it doesn't last long and s*upid but funny arguments I would say this was more of a Romcom with some Gender bender.

I would say what I don't like but a lot of novels do with his prolonging misunderstanding for like half the novel I always find that annoying.... like can't you find make the novel interesting and fun in a different way? and there was just one villain that... more>> kept recurring and recurring that it was getting old.

the male lead he was sometimes annoying overly jealous I never like characters like that It just makes them seem insecure and a bit toxic and the villain Qin yi I don't know why people start shipping him with the MC he is mostly infatuated with his looks but you can say the same thing about the ML but he really didn't care for anything what the MC wanted and he got what he's deserved because he's a manipulator though I do wish he could have made a turn around cause it seemed like that could have happened but dead's dead.

At first it was frustrating cuz it took a long time for his gender to be revealed. I like to get things done quickly.

And then it seems people around the MC find trouble for him? First, Qin Yi, then Zhan Zhen and then his brother.

What irk me the most is the biggest issue here is mc's gender. It revolves around mc's secret which he is a male pretending to be a female and can potentially cause of war again. And the two lead continues lies to the other people. Just... more>> get it done alrdy!, we all know secrets are meant to be revealed. I was already frustrated from the first chapters I dont have enough patience for this!

I dont get why people commenting MC is selfish while the ML is not? In the first place, ML is the one who propose the marriage to him. Just cuz he is a beauty and ML fell in love at first sight. And then it branches to MC holding for his dear life, trying to survive even a day. Its clear that he doesn't want to die but he is ready to be killed. Manipulative yes but who among the characters dont have their own agenda? Imagine you are in ur enemies territory, only 2 servants you have. Alone. And a secret that could lit a war again and kill you, would you not want to live even just a day? Would you not manipulate ur enemy? What happened was ait single lie turned to two and then more, it accumulated until he pretends

Another thing is that ML seems very different from my first impression to him. He is smart but when it comes to MC he become this lovestruck teen who's life revolves around him.

Also ML is a bit of an M. Hihi 😍😍😉

QY the main villain, could pass as the usual 3rd ML the yandere trope. But the type of at-least-you-kill-me-and-the-feeling-of-guilt-will-plaque-you-till-death.

And that part. It was not impossible but it is rare. But it seems not realistic to me cuz 'different' was not seen as good at that time. Even now today's age, some changes was questioned. That part is very unrealistic.

If he's hermaphrodite then why do they not notice the difference? When they did the deed? Where did he gave birth to it? From his ass? Like sht? Also what about breastfeeding? I have so many questions. I need to google if its possible.

The best thing here was the couple communicate. They talk to each other about things that made them angry, at that time. Then apologize without using the words sorry or apologize. What they did is they they acknowledge their mistakes, tell eo why and what.

Solid 4, for me. You just have to push through.

It was okay, full of fluff and no hard plot to chew on.

Only a pity that the main villain actually had a sad story but he was just killed off by his white moonlight. Though the villain was a greedy wolf, in different setting, he was actually doing everything he can to take a place of his own in MC life.

Too bad this story not suitable for him.

In the begining, I was very disgusted with how MC cleverly manipulated ML for his own means. Yes, MC wanted to survive, yes he needed to do it because the lives of his people and his family depended on his live. But, I still felt uncomfortable reading such character.

I felt like I was reading a good white lotus character pov, in how they justified their action to manipulate, to make other's heart sway and sink for them. It's very grand and an elaborate plan made into a simple request from... more>> a very smart man.

It was all changing after all secret was told and things might change for worse or better. Yet, MC still calmly planted his claw to ML who might not aware he was walking the road MC planned for him. Or maybe ML did realize but he's willingly took the road himself. ML was so much in love with him.

So many dialogues between two husbands, such that it's a bit tiring to read them since they're just repeating sweet flirting/angry words over and over again.

Disappointed that the author didnot write more about the other characters that showed up and had story to tell until the end. They were just there and gone. Pity. <<less

The pair is clearly meant for each other. They are both quite brilliant and as they grow and trust each other they become a very very well suited pair.

However, they get together because the prince from a family that loves the face first.

There is palace intrigue and that's always nice. It's pretty reasonable that the MC and ML had a rough patch when their secrets get revealed but they do work out their issues and truly love each other.

I liked the first part much more than the second (and not only bcz of the better translation).

Did not really like MC, for someone whining so much about being treated like a girl he behaved too much like a stereotypical spoiled girl. And while it was understandable before ML found out the truth, cannot see the reason why he did it after. If I were ML I would just turn around and leave.

And what is with all the kicking, being physically weaker does not justify being violent.

Score 3.5. Giving.5 extra due to the beginning, only. This novel started out interesting, however, it is dragged out way too long by the end. It could easily be shortened by 20-30 chapters and be a better story. The beginning was actually quite good and had potential, but at the midpoint it becomes too fluffy/ slice of life and the story progression was extremely slow and boring.

If you have nothing else to read then this would be something to kill time.

Can't find reason for it up to 4 stars. Slide of life with fluffy romance is okay, but lack of comedic banther and creative plot progress make this novel taste bland.

The Prince also is a wise war tactician as he can lead lesser army to succesfully counter attack much more army from North Jin (Seme's country) who ambush South Jian (Uke's country). Sadly this talent or Uke's wisdom was not furtherly exposed.

After that it was a slide of life with fluff romance. The fluff is okay, just disappointed with character's lack of plot story to prove their worth as how the story describe their talent & wisdom. Lack of political issue and villain's uncreative way to cause trouble make the character's value seems to decrease and only their side of immaturity in slide of life to creates fluffy romance mostly shown.

Characters no need to be powerful. Just be responsible for what they are potrayed. Why can't it be disappointed if one offer you a bright flame but given you dull fire instead? <<less

From the preview, I thought it would be similar to "Counterfeit bride" which I liked but this one is way too convoluted for my tastes. Dropped it at chapter 39. There's just too much girly 'cat and mouse' game between the protags. The author drags out the gender secret too much, with MC acting out his sickly and girly persona all the time, with nonsense dialogues, non-stop coughing and fainting, endless tears and a lot of fake tears too, menstrual BS, fake breasts, breast enlargement BS, exaggerated beauty talk and... more>> a good dose of theatrical humour thrown in... I thought I was reading hetero novel! All this is not only boring for me but also quite implausible and unbelievable. It is impossible to stretch that secret that long. How many tricks will MC use until he is discovered? In the middle of this fake shit, ML is going all out with his love, devotion and sincerity lmao... I actually did pity ML a lot as he keeps being lied to, manipulated, beaten and even drugged. After that drug and s*x episode I thought the secret will finally be discovered but nope!?! I gave up reading then. It would have been way more interesting for me if MC at least had some small attraction and affection for ML at the beginning because, then, their romance later on would seem more likely. <<less

God I love this series a lot, yes theres a lot of plot holes and they fall in love kinda weirdly but its just so cute! I love their bickering as husband and wife, I love both of their characters and their motives, plus theres funny side characters too! Sometimes it's hard to understand bc of the writing style but it's alright, you will get the hang of it. Can't wait to read more chapters!
