I like this kind of MC.

He's vain, he smart at times, but kind of oblivious -although you'd find out he chooses to be ignorant and he has a careless attitude for most things.

His affections for ML are genuine though -even if it's mixed with his vanity. MC's shallow but he's not deceptive - He very clearly gives away his little considerations.I probably won't like the MC if he actively calculated against the ML in order to score the riches and played with his feelings but that's not what his character... more>> is like. Don't be dissauaded by that.

I find his little monolouges quite endearing. ML is also aware of MC's love for his face and love for riches-he's not bothered by it, or looks down on it-instead he hopes those two aren't the only things that make him appealing to the MC because that kind of love (without anything else to ground it) is short lived.

MC does like ML a lot-it took him, the ML and readers some time to figure it out-but if you'd bother to read through the rest of the book-you'd see clear signs of his devotion, like the time he'd ask ML to move back into his own house-he could have asked if he himself could have moved in ML's luxurious villa (they had the status of lovers at the time) but the dude had no considerations in his mind, he just wanted to be close to his lover and share a live with him and when he feels ML is in danger, he worries for him and goes to rescue him.

Finch is a very kind soul and he's honestly kind of a softie. He's got a good heart and if he's slightly vain (who isn't) it doesn't take away his appeal-it makes him more interesting. <<less

It feels a bit weird reading this type of Novel that usually have at least hundred chapters, only has less than 50 chapters. And yet, no plot hole, the story cleared in Satisfying way. I can't help but feeling Amazed by it.

Sure we could argue the worldbuilding is not as detailed as other novel with this type of Mystery that has Hundred Chapters, but this Novel is not less Cooler than them.

It's not hard to Understand MC's role if you just think about it with what already explained in the... more>> story. It's not Complicated.

This Novel is Absolutely Amazing. Sooooo Much Better than I expected and I'm pretty Satisfied by it. It has Great Horror that made me shuddered, the Twist that was horrifying and somewhat 'cool', the Emotional moments, the Comedy, the Characters, etc. Sure it's not Perfect, but this Novel is Really Really REALLY GOOOOOOD!!! SOOOO GOOD!!! SOOOOO GREAT!!! I'm Absolutely LOVING IT SOOOOOO MUCH!!! Please Give it try!!! <<less

Honestly, I was really, really excited at the start! It had mystery, Intrigue and checked a couple of my personal YES boxes.... sadly, to me, the story fell short. Honestly, my problem wasnt the main characters. The MC isn't the brightest bulb in the box, but to me, that wasn't a problem. He had FLAWS, like a normal human should. He's a bit vain, selfish, but beneath that, he has his own fears which influence his actions. The translation is also great, btw <3 What personally let me down for... more>> this.... was how the mystery felt rushed. the ending wasn't rushed, but the story felt like it was, if that makes sense? I loved the first arc, and even the second, but after that... it felt like it lost its appeal. It went to a more dull drama tone which I didn't quite fancy. Bland misunderstandings took over stage and the fantacy horror fell short as a result. I you like that kinda thing then great! you'll love it. As for me, I was disappointed, as the horror/thriller felt like it fell more flat at the end. <<less

Great Story! A nicely laid out plot with nice romace 👌I like horror/thriller that was well thought. Even though some things where not thoroughly explained but you will get the gist of it. What I like about this stort is how there were twists in the end, so good!

I love all the characters! Even in those arcs, they were nicely depicted and doesn't treat as air. I also love the main characters especially the MC. MC is quite practical and really funny. ML on the other side is a little... more>> tsun-tsun in the beginning.

What I think were a lot omitted like "What happened to Qi Zhen, ML's father or Xie Yan?", etc. I think the pacing of the story at the start were good but it abruptly ended.

Anyways, I did enjoy reading so I'll give this a 4.5⭐ since I like horror/thriller with comedy. So I really recommend this 👌 <<less

My 1st horror BL so everything felt pretty fresh to me. It was a nice mix of creepy and sweet plu it was a short read. But

I did find the ending abit anti-climatic coz the other world wasnt really shown and was immediately resolved by the ML's OP-ness. So it felt abit rushed.

The mystery, the horror elements, the setting, the atmosphere, MC's funny internal monologues... this short novel is quite entertaining. My only gripe is the romance which seemed too superficial and shallow, especially how the protags previously met and broke up. I think author deliberately made it so because the author wanted to write just comedy and wanted to poke fun at everything, including the romance. The protags do love each other except they only reveal their true thoughts in later chapters, for plot convenience. For e.g., MC's real reason for... more>> breaking up is revealed later... MC is not really a gold digger but loves to act like one, obviously for comedy effect... It is a funny and entertaining little read. <<less

Honestly it started out good but I kind of lost interest along the way. I think because the story is short, there wasn’t enough build up for the thriller and mystery part and there were some odd transitions as well, making it feel a bit rushed?

If youre looking for some quick read tho, this one’s for you! Do give it a try.

tbh... Finch isn't as bad as what the reviews are saying. Sure he is a little too alike to a money and face lover, but at the end of the novel you can really see that he really loves Cesar. Though I can't deny that throughout the novel there were like 1 or 2 times that I just wanted Cesar to find someone else hahahaha cause Finch was being a little too oblivious and realistic.

BUTBUT overall despite only having 47 chapters, it was really interesting and filled with different 'supernatural... more>> events' that was nice to read. Thoughh it would have been nice to have maybe 1 or 2 more chapters after the last one. Or even a few extras would be lovely.

One good thing about this novel is that Finch is realistic and his inner monologues are hilarious 😂 <<less

initially, I didn't like the main character at all, but later he showed that he wasn't as superficial as he seemed, especially the minor characters like Xie Yan and Mr. Lu (?). Caesar is a cutie :3 definitely 5 stars

Its an interesting 1-2 days read! I love every bit of it. I love how Fang Chu's character is written. It seems shallow in the surface but thats just how he is; even if his thoughts show real human selfishness, it goes humourly with his bubbly, happy go lucky personality, and the way how it seems like he doesnt take anything seriously, but rest assured he's not really dumb & careless. He's sensible & self-aware, which makes him a precious and adorable MC.

A fast, exciting, and intriguing read - definitely recommend it!

I went into this story after reading only the summary - I was not expecting suspense and horror! Thankfully the horror is tempered by humor so overall the story is scary but not *super* scary. I would not read this alone at night though. I’m not a huge fan of horror but I really enjoyed this story!

In the story, supernatural events occur that bring them together as both the MC and the ML do a lot of self-reflection about how they feel about the other. The MC seems shallow and kind of superficial in the beginning but as the story moves on, we learn the reasons behind his behavior. Both characters have flaws but they both experience growth as they confront their fears.

Good character development for a short novel. And there's a really sweet ending! <<less

The plot is interesting 5/5

The 'romance' with the plot was 2/5

So to start the review a brief summary about it.

... more>> MC found himself meeting his ex-boyfriend of just several months after 2 years of no contact. In a rich people party. He was there to be gain some attention and gain sponsors as an actor. He then realise that his ex was actually possibly from a rich ass family since his boss has shown way too much respect.

While avoiding him, they discover to be stuck in some space with no connection of their world, in a gruesome mu*der. Since then MC tried to win back his ex in order to have a rich life. and since then he found himself in that space that seems to be filled with either ghosts and mu*derers. They can't escape until one side won. A little like the mafia game. And then it basically ended in a happy note.

Now the complain.

The MC 2/5 is just no. I didn't really care that he was a face lover, money lover guy. because if we all had a chance we would. But how is he so arrogant? He knew the ML still likes him. and would always whine and complain and made a fuss cause ML doesn't want to get together. I can't find any redeeming personality of him that allow someone to fall for him. MC doesn't love ML. that what he stated at the beginning. He was just there for what good he could bring. and when ML constantly reject him. He gave up. Good. But MC annoyed the heck out of me. He judges someone appearance because they don't look like they're gonna kill him or something and smile at him. He thought that they were a nice person and can be trusted. I can continue on but I move on with ML.

MC is some sort of key for the world to be one with monsters. Why? no idea. It was never clearly explained. And for someone to be a magnet to quicken the pace, something I truly expect similar to an Ordinary person. He seems to barely attract it until meeting the ML

ML 3/5. So I don't know about others, But it was plain easy to see that ML wasn't build-up at all. For some odd reason, he is so in love with MC. and there's no specific reason why. They aren't compatible. They didn't even know each other when they started the relationship. And he left when MC broke up. and never look him up for 2 years until the first event. Yet he still loves him enough to sacrifice himself for him. Cause apparently there's a reason why they got together. It's understandable that ML didn't want to get together with MC despite his feeling at first. Cause he could tell that the reason why they got together in the first place was he was attracted for his look. Then now for his money and fame. And he understands that's normal. But he knew that from the way MC act that, that's all there was. The MC wasn't in love with him so that's why he did;t want to get together again. And then strange things happen with him that honestly wasn't even mentioned in-depth and let go of an interesting plot. So we were left with everything cut short and an excuse of a happy ever after.

World building: 4/5

Unexpectedly the world-building was fairly good despite the main characters. I would love to read more of it. Where due to a colliding plane it lead to an isolated space of certain death. which would lead to an absorption of the scary world into ours. So the only way to prevent the monster side from winning is to win. Find and kill the monster or mu*derer before they kill all the humans.

So the mystery was interesting....I can only hope. MC by no means solve much crime. And the world was basically solved so easy. The MC is a coward and he agrees to it too. He is a coward. And though he tried to solve it, it usually end with ML just stomping with it until it turns to dust. And even if it did end up solve it doesn't feel solve.

I was expecting something like I was born unlucky. Well, my bad for comparing it to a s tier bl mystery novel. So that's my take on the novel. Well I'm off to read another possibly bad bl novel. No expectation but for some reason it still horrible.

Absolutely enjoyed this short story! The MC was just hilarious! I loved his straightforwardness and his outlook on life! He is smart and was definitely on pair with the ML! He was not helpless which I enjoyed! The ML was just super, although he had a cold exterior he clearly cared about the MC. I enjoyed reading the different scenes that they encountered! They were never what I was expecting at all! The only thing that left me curious was why natural disasters were drawn to him!!!! What did he... more>> have???!!! The ending was like so heartfelt, when he ran there and didn't care what others thought! When it was unveiled why he broke up with Cesar, I could understand that reason, he himself was coming to terms with his orientation. I'm so happy, he was able to have his family support which not many people get to experience, and he can finally be with that first person, he took his first step with! I really really really enjoyed this novel! The author did an excellent job in conveying the emotions, including the mystery elements! The translation was super as always! Thank you! <<less

I'm impressed that the author created such a complete story, with so many supernatural occurrences in less than fifty chapters. No lengthy world building, no excess characters, but still a huge sense of the odd, eerie and super creepy in the various encounters.

And this isn't the only thing in the story! There was also a lot of really funny things that happened, and one whole arc that was just hilarious -not giving any spoilers. There were funny lines and scenes sprinkled all over that helped to keep the story from... more>> getting s**ked down by the heavy sections. And they were heavy and dark.

I also really like Finch and Cesar. While Finch comes across as a bubble brain, especially early on, he's also the most genuine person, without any real darkness to his character. Cesar is hopelessly trying to keep him at a distance despite his deep affections and desire to keep Finch safe.

The scenes where they are finally honest about all their emotions are some of the sweetest. A lovely, exciting, but keep the lights on story. <<less

A hidden gem hides in a short chapters but was polished dashingly.

MC and ML characteristics were completing each other and reading them is truly enjoyable.

I was expecting more complicated background for both MC and ML but too bad we're not given chance to read about them more. Also I want to know more of the other characters motive or what they are actually.

Wish the author would make more explanation of the other world and the how it occured first, the organization and maybe gave few support characters from the same... more>> organization so we could feel the story more complete.

I rarely comment on translator or their choice in doing the job, but this time I wanna complain of why they needed to change the name? I thought they'd change all characters for easy spelling/typing so it's honestly confused me.

Yu SiZe is certainly wouldnt be spelled as english 'size', imo. And I kept saying MC name as Fang Chi because Finch lol <<less
