Really really good. Characterisation is amazing, storylines are so gripping and the main couple have so much chemistry, their relationship is so interesting by the end. It's hard to explain, but it feels very different from a typical BL- more interesting I would say. I just wish the translation was a little easier to understand but it's still a good read without this - highly recommend !

okay, I saw no ratings here. I would like to leave a trace, sorry for my broken English.

I just finished the novel in a day, not gonna lie. I could say this novel was the short novel with high tension. I really recommend you to read it, the development of their love is quite slow, enjoy the tense atmosphere of an intelligence agent with a top-level Russian mafia.

nothing more to describe, just read it! I really like the combination of cold-blooded vampire and fierce black cat😉

by the way, ML is... more>> known as a crocodile and MC is known as a black bunny. <<less

I just don't know what to say. The novel started off well, it was very interesting and was a fun read... until.. that part... This just isn't the kind of story that I would personally enjoy. The ML is weird in my opinion and with how the story is going so far... I just don't like their (MC and ml) relationship dynamic. I should have read the tags first. I should done more research. It was my bad. I got myself into this and now I need therapy.

I love this novel.

The novel has very direct tags and if you don't like violence, I advise you not to read it. I don't know what people expected when they saw the tag r*pe or r*pe victim.

Both of the main characters have problems related to a life full of violence. Zhenya grew up in an abusive family, so it's not surprising how he shows his affection. Taekjoo's family situation is not beautiful either, so I also understand his reluctance to enter into a more serious relationship.

I personally believe that Taekjoo's... more>> feelings for Zhena are not the result of Stockholm syndrome because at an early stage he noticed that he was starting to react differently to Zhena's actions and carefully analyzed his feelings several times. He also considered Stockholm syndrome. <<less

One of my fav novels for sure

I just love my badass black bunny Taekju and his crazy crocodile Russian man Zhenya.

who doesn't love a strong and capable bottom with a big chest (yes Taekju's milkers were also one of the reasons I read it lmao) it is also the cherry on top that Taekju is older bc older bottoms are perfection

this story is for ppl who don't mind reading toxic relationships btw, no, it is for readers who are CRAVING a toxic story and toxic love (like me, I like... more>> crazy MLs)

READ THE TAGS Y'ALL! Just read the damn tags and trigger warnings! They are at the top of each chapter and literally everywhere and they are there for a reason.

The top is a MAJOR red flag and very messed up, pe*verted and cruel so keep that in mind, also don't expect any redemption arc for Zhenya and then get disappointed later if you don't get it.. Because he is not the regret gong type. Of course I'm in no way saying that what he did is ok (obviously it is not) or that you can't dislike this story bruh.. Zhenya is a despicable mf but don't act surprised that he is SO toxic after ignoring the warnings

the plot of course is very good *and dark* and there are many action scenes which are so cool as well, no need to even talk about it just read it for yourself, but if all the triggers ticks you off then DON'T READ IT bc it's not everyone's cup of tea

the romance part is very slow and it's definitely not your typical romance, you should wait alot if you want to see any sweetness and fluff between them lol you'd even wonder how the hell those two are gonna end up together

I already bought all volumes on ridi even though my kr is broken but I just love this novel so much so please support the author if you can <3 and thank you so much to the translator for such amazing translations❤ <<less

Why do people keep saying that "you should've read the tags to know what your going into 🤪🤪" acknowledging the 'red flags' of the ML doesn't necessarily makes it okay for the ML to be the way he is so of course people are gonna complain.

Spoiler

And the whole story is literally like s3x s3x s3x r4p3 r4pe ML trying to kill MC twice r4pe r4pe. There wasn't even any significant development that contributes to the theme of the story or whatsoever that could it could be labelled as "hm despite the messed up dynamics of the main characters, the story actually greatly portrays and tells us about...." It seems like the author was just hopping into the trend of creating another lame a$$ trend toxic bl that somehow many people like to eat up

[collapse]

The tv series "The Great" is a good example of 'toxic relationship' but actually has a good story, character development and dynamic between the main characters. Not this whatever this is. <<less

To start with this review, I wanted to say that I’ve read a lot of major spoilers and knew what am I signed up for so I cannot complain.

Some stuffs I like is the writing. Normally I am not into reading action BL novel that much but the author’s description was so easy to imagine. The characters are pretty well enough written. Taekjoo/Taekju (I will say Taejoo) is a strong minded person... but not too strong minded when it comes to Zhenya later on. At first he did fight back... more>> for his freedom but slowly the stockholm syndrome started to kicking in LOL. About Zhenya? I cannot say if I like him or not... The only thing that good about him is probably his face and money LMAO. The way Zhenya treated Taekjoo makes me questioning my life choice...

I do not support r*pe and abusing relationships but their relationship makes me curious and want to know more. I read more questionable things but this one just makes me feel weird. Am I enjoyed it? Idk. Do I disliked it? Idk. But do I like enemies to lovers troupe? ABSOLUTELY YES IN THIS CASE.

I gave it a 3/5 cause it makes me feel like I need a reality check, a smoke and a brainwashing machine LOL. I like the author’s writing tho! If you cannot tolerate r*pe, abuse, Stockholm syndrome, psychological things then YOU WILL NOT TOLERATE THIS ONE. Best to read it with your brain off cause you will get a reality check real fast. <<less

Ooohh my... I am so obsessed with this novel. I want to write a coherent review because as the webtoon is being published right now (it is in tappytoon and I recommend you check it out as well because the art is scrumptious) this novel is gaining more traction.

First of all, this is filled with noncon and other explicit tags. Like r*pe, torture, mu*der,... So if you don't like any of these, this is not the novel for you.

However if you don't mind it, let me explain to you why... more>> I'm so obsessed with this novel right now (pls stay with me, I need people to talk to about codename Anastasia).

First of all, the author has written their personality perfectly. Zhenya is basically a loner, he seemingly doesn't have friends and he doesn't have a good relationship with his family either. The only one he somehow gets along with (and I think barely) is his sister Olga. It is obvious he lives his life in solitude. He sleeps around with women quite often but only once with every one of them. So he doesn't have a steady partner either and doesn't go back to anyone else. Except for taekjoo it seems.

Spoiler

I think of how he tried killing taekjoo multiple times and how each time, taekjoo came back. This part is important cause Zhenya repeated this part multiple times. I think Zhenya's got some kind of attachment disorder and doesn't rely on anyone's affection and presence for his own survival. He was first drawn to taekjoo for how he doesn't give up/die easily. And I think the more time he spent with him, in an inhabited island with just them, talking, competing, f*cking, the more Zhenya gets attached to taekjoo. Like he's becoming more affectionate and caring.

And taekjoo who is supposed to hate him, can't help but feel something. I guess after his father died when he was young and then his brother shortly after, he was responsible of taking care of his mother. I think he revels in the fact that he's being taken care of. Even when he feels humiliated and powerless when Zhenya f*cks him and he can't leave the island by himself, he enjoys how Zhenya entertains his bets /attempts to flee, brings him Korean food whenever he comes back and touches him gently. If Zhenya hadn't been so impatient and weird, he could have courted taekjoo in more normal and healthy ways. I'm 100% sure taekjoo would've fallen for him had he just courted him normally. Like before sh*t hit the fan, Zhenya and taekjoo frotted/m*sturbated together and taekjoo wasn't complaining too much about it. It was only Zhenya's impatience and disregard for others that is literally sabotaging him from being together with taekjoo...

[collapse]

This story is a mix of character and plot story. We see the development in Zhenya and taekjoo as people and in their relationship while they both have a mission to honour. Although I feel like volume 3 is more of a character story than plot.

It is medium pace story, the cast of characters are pretty diverse but not too much. (you've got taekjoo, his mom, his junior at work and the superiors at NIS and then you've got Zhenya, his family and that is basically it).

It has lots of action and tension, it is about crime and mafia and the author does a great job writing about it. I literally sit at the edge of my seat whenever there is another action scene.

The romance is clearly slow burn.
Spoiler

They might have f*cked but they have not once kissed on the lips. Although Zhenya is becoming more gently (lathers taekjoo's body and face with kisses) he clearly avoids his lips.

[collapse]

Lastly, the translation on chrysanthemum is amazing! It brings out the author's writing and intentions clearly. It is most definitely on of my favourite fantranslations out there. <<less

Dude why are so many people complaining about "blah blah, toxic tropes blah blah blah." dude... ITS LIKE PUTTING KILLING STALKING INTO THE BL CATEGORY, okay, maybe that's one's a bit much. But still. The main point of this story is NOT romance bro. It's like a drama secret agent blood pumping novel and it's laced with a bunch of different riddles, details, and mystery elements. I AM IN NO WAY JUSTIFYING WHAT ML DID TO MC!!!!

Screw ML for doing what he did to MC but, I'm just surprised he... more>> didn't do worse to the MC after you find out what his background is. Project A is such a good story, other then some of the tricky Russian names, and if the author wanted to write a story based on the two's chemistry, they would not make us starve for like 30+ chapters and then sprinkle in some BL.

In my opinion, I think the plot is heading more for character development, and more intensity towards the coming arcs. Just reading all the sudden plot twists made me question reality for a second lmao.

If you're reading this for a "cute agent and sexy OP Russian hot final boss", then nah this is not for you 💀. Our MC will kick bu*t and that crazy russian ML will have to go through several redemption arcs for even the MC so give him a single glance of something.

Please read the tags of the novel if dark themes like this don't suit your taste. It's like ignoring all the warnings on an 18+ Novel and then getting angry and disgusted that you found a scene you didn't like. Of course I'm not saying you can't like it, but why bother ignoring all the red flags and then leaving a one star review even though you clearly already knew that you did not like those red flags?

Aside from the really...•_• scenes, the story is made really well. Sorry for the rant, just can't help it when I see people thrash and lower the rating of a good book even after it clearly warns you of elements you may not like.

If you're going to leave a negative rating, please write it about the actual story and not just like "I didn't like this part and I hate it, even though I already read in the tags that it was going to be there!"

Instead you can add things like ex: "plot was too confusing", "arcs were too long", "too many plot twists", and etc.

This novel isn't for everyone, and it isn't asking you to like it either. (Oh but how I wish author nim fed me some delicious dog food T_T)

[Edit] for the guy who said that acknowledging red flags still means people are gonna complain, is true. But I'm not saying you can't tr*sh ML for what he did, I'm talking about the people who read the summary, see the tags, read it and still get surprised pikachu faced when something crazy happens. Novelupdates doesn't have a lot of debates for this story, but there's whole entire discussion boards and posts on social media platforms thrashing this book, when you know what you're getting into. Example I will never read horror because I'm a big scaredy cat, but if I still read it and get scared I have no one to blame other then myself.

From the way I saw it ML's crime against MC really shows our fricken twisted his character is, he is blackest of blackened, he's a death flag. I feel like the author put it in to show how really monstrous ML is for showing no sympathy towards a person who's been traveling with him for a long time, discrediting all the time ML did something 'good' for MC. It's like a reality check in my opinion, a real face slapped to the reader like "Hey, don't romantize this man, he's actually an scum, watch how the MC tried to get revenge on him." Feels more like a hook that will keep the reader interested in the story, because there really isn't much more to be hooked on after the plot twists and revelations. (Btw, you give low ratings so like every story you review bruh, and you mostly only read very shortly into the story. Maybe you should find better books lolol) <<less
