Ning Chu downloaded a western fantasy app called “Dragon Island” during winter break, in which you can raise various small dragons.

The game was beautifully drawn and unique, and the little dragon cubs are super cute and lovable, so Ning Chu quickly got hooked and raised a dozen of them with crazy funds.

The little dragon cubs vary in character and preferences, and Ning Chu works early and late every day, hunting and cooking, cutting down trees and building houses, sewing clothes for the little dragon cubs, playing with them, and singing children’s songs to put them to sleep.

Unfortunately, before the little dragon cubs grew up, Ning Chu met with an accident.

When he opened his eyes again, Ning Chu transmigrated.

He came to a strange and different world where there were wizards, dwarves, elves, half-therians, and… giant dragons.

Ning Chu was unlucky to have just crossed into a dragon slaying battle, where the huge creature raised its claws at him in the dusty atmosphere.

But… the red scales, the curved horns, and the hot flames coming out of its mouth…

Loved the dragons in this story! They could change from adult form to cub form. They weren't only cute, but had their own adult character. That made it more interesting, otherwise it was too boring.

Romance was very slow. I didn't like how prudish MC was when it came to physical part. He is a 19y old teenager, but a pity he is portrayed like a shy maiden (many Chinese writers pick this route). But towards the end he was eaten thoroughly any way ;)

ML is a dragon that can... more>> change into human form, but he is quite oblivious about s*x between humans. It makes sense. So, he seeks help from his teachers at school (who are very embarrassed by his questions). ML is very OP, but also submissive to MC in terms of decision making.

Both MC and ML have no scrupulous about killing off people, which is quite strange. MC is from modern world, so it shouldn't be.

Story has similarities to farming/from poor to rich kind of story. MC had no money at the start and had to earn it. Quickly he found his cubs one after the other. The from poor-to-rich was quite easy. His dragons are OP and the game panel made it extremely easy to buy new items including new dragon islands. It becomes boring after chapter 100. Then it's all about their daily routine. <<less

MC played an app in the modern world about raising dragons and in an accident gets transmigrated into the game world. With the game abilities, he reunites with the dragons he raised and aims to live a happy life with ML and all the dragons.

This novel is a sweet cub raising romance novel so if that's all you're looking for, you'll like it. My rating is predominately based on the very weak to non existent world building. Aside from MC and ML, even the other dragons and side characters get almost no characterization. If you took away the MC and ML and the story, the world would not be longer than one page. No one knows why the Church is so evil or why the teachers are so nice. You don't even understand why the system exist. There is no motive and reason for anyone's actions and people just do good stuff and or bad stuff. Also the kill count on this book is just crazy. I mean everyone who is "bad" is immediate cannon fodder for the plot making ML and dragons completely OP. This novel has the same depth and substance as cotton candy. It's sweet tasting but melts immediately after savouring.

TL:DR

If you'd like a sweet cute romance novel where nothing bad happens to anyone and you don't mind weak characterization and lack of world building and or plot, go ahead and read this. Turn your brain off and you'll enjoy it better. <<less

Dragon Tales meets I’m Not Human & Cub Raising Association

I came for dragon cubs & I got exactly what I wanted. No high expectations really, just fluff & cute moments. No angst, these dragons are as OP as it gets. I just wished that the end wasn’t as abrupt as it was. If the author decided to stretch out the latter half of the story, it would’ve been phenomenal. I just enjoy stories like these. They’re heartwarming, straight to the point, & just leaves you feeling warm & cozy.

It's good if you go in expecting pure day-to-day dragon content. Nothing happens. Mild conflict abounds, with no stakes at all. The only real issues stemming from the MC being incredibly shy around s*xual things and the ML being...a pushy nonhuman. I liked them both and I liked how different ML was from a typical domineering ML. I enjoyed the world and the concepts, and I thought the dragons were cute, but it all just.... ends

I dropped at ch98. I was excited about this novel and binged 80 chapters at once and it was good at the beginning but then it just started dragging out so boring. MC is so OP and keeps the dragons’ reverence even after not showing up for centuries and gains back their affections after just showing his face and name. The dragons grew up for centuries on their own yet after MC shows up again they revert to childishness. The author tries to play up their cuteness too much that... more>> it just started to get annoying. Author makes a whole show of MC being OP because he’s able to use all of his dragons’ powers but it’s such a letdown. MC only uses his own powers on a handful of occasions and always ends up completely killing the other group. His decisiveness in killing others isn’t reflected in his relationship with ML, and he keeps acting like a naive blushing virg*n whenever ML tried to show affection. This was okay and cute at first but after 98 chapters his personality still doesn’t mature and their relationship still feels like a one sided effort from the ML even after MC accepted his own feelings. It’s so repetitive just seeing them on the dragon island and making no progress against the antagonists (church) and it’s seems like whenever they do engage in conflict, it’s so that the MC could kill them and rob them for their coins. <<less

In my opinion, this story is not bad. But also not that special. Everything is average, from plot to character building. There are fluffs but also average.

I wish for something more from this story actually 🤔

One thing that makes me curious is the reason why the church wants to catch a lot of dragons...

5 stars of fluff but 4 stars on story.

MC transmigrated into his dragon raising game but with a time skip. For him those dragons just hatched but for them he was over 70 years gone. When MC came to the this strange world, his game came a a system with him and he realized none of his cubs is on the island anymore. Lucky MC found one of his cups right away after opening his eyes.... when the brown up version was about to kill him... and a whole... more>> team of mercenaries.

So the story is not complicated. MC basically is finding his cubs one after another, making money to load the game and taking revenge on the evil church that killed one of his cubs! But don't frett, the cub is resurrected through the game and sells a lot of meng while beeing raised again. Although that part gives some drama to the story is only short lived and the center of this novel is a feel good story and raising cute dragons. (The reasons can shrink themselves to their hatchling form, perfect to get spoiled)

I would recommend to read it once but only if you like fluff. <<less

I read quite a bit, and I thought it was quite cute! But, I'm just not vibing with the characters or the setting. I dunno. I think I'm in that rut stage where I just can't finish books no mater what I try lolol, so I'm not going to count this read. I'll come back and try it out again another day! For future me's sake...

This is a very sweet BL story. Highly recommend reading this as a palette cleanser if you find yourself mentally fatigued of reading drama ridden stories back to back. Its like eating a fresh cucumber after eating something really greasy.

This is also one of those self indulgent stories where this is the life that we wish we have with dragons galore. But because this is a self indulgent story, it felt like the author didn't really know how to go about it at the beginning, or how to end... more>> it properly.

At the beginning, there really wasn't any drive that added a feeling of anticipation or foreshadowing in where the plot would go. Yes, we want MC to unite with his dragons, but then what? But once the plot started to get momentum, I was easily hooked on it. But that momentum felt abrupt because, again, there really wasn't any foreshadowing.

The ending was kind of the same. But instead of not knowing how to end it, it felt like there was reluctance to end it at all. Which is understandable since you can feel the love that was poured into this story. But it left me wonder what more can there be? What other loose end is there? The last few chapters feel like they should've been 'extras' or define them as an epilogue to show case that the conflict is done and that's their happy ending.

The beginning and ending are the reasons why I knocked a star off but it is very much deserving of a 4 star rating. The plot is exciting. MC and ML's relationship is sweet and tackle issues in a reasonable manner. And I like that the author did not shy away from the bloodshed that will occur especially when dragons are involved. It's a very sweet story but one does not poke a dragon and get away with it. It's honestly gratifying. <<less

It's cute enough. Just a bit disappointed that their separation was glossed over. MC was gone for lyk 70 yrs and there's not one scene of how the dragons fared while he was gone.

Anw I get that the author didn't want anything too deep or angsty but it was a wasted potential to develop the story.

So just 4/5. It was enjoyable and I quite liked the MC's character. He is devoted to the dragons and is quite decisive in protecting them against the bad guys.

Dropped because it it quite boring and couldn’t hold my interest.

Issues for me:

MC and ML’s relationship is very awkward and slow. ML seems not to be able to understand human motives and MC is determined to keep a distance with ML in the beginning once he knows little black dragon is ML. Eventhough he seems to know ML has a bit of a different mindset than humans and a quick temper.

Dragons are cute but the world building seems rushed and I still don’t get how the world went to hunting... more>> dragons after MC left.

After finding out the ending is abrupt and there is no conflict resolution, I feel even more disinterested in continuing to read. <<less

I really liked this one, minus the ending. The cubs are super cute and all have very distinct personalities, and it was sweet watching them interact with each other as well as the MC. The romance wasn't a huge focus, but I didn't feel unsatisfied. I thought their relationship was cute. But I'm also not someone who reads novels solely for the romance. I agree the MC was quite prudish, which was a little annoying.

I honestly wish the story was longer, because I feel like there was more to explore.... more>> The author included a note saying that the other races (elves, dwarfs) introduced in the story were only for the purpose of the MC making more money, which bummed me out a bit. I really liked the dragon world, and would have enjoyed deeper world building and more dimensional side characters. It would have been cool to see more about the therians or other races as well. I was also curious what happened to the person whose body the MC transmigrated into.

Dragons are super OP, so the fights weren't very high stakes, but I didn't mind it. It was actually kinda nice to have some conflict but not feel super stressed while reading it lol. A lot of novels either go the 'super action packed tons of angst' route or the 'purely cute fluff and no substance' route. This one had a nice balance and I didn't get bored except during the extras.

The ending was disappointing. It definitely felt like the author didn't really know how to end it. I did not like the extras. I was very bummed that after the MC and ML mated, the MC mostly ignored all the other dragons. Even when seventh cub hatched, he didn't really get the mc's attention at all. It was a weird way to end a story that was very focused on family and cub care, and left me feeling kinda upset. It was also weird how possessive the ML was. There were also some details that were never followed up on like contracting sixth cub. Not my favorite ending. <<less

It's a pretty adorable story to coo over the dragons and occasionally enjoy some dog food. Nothing complicated or heavy although the ending is anticlimactic, the extras will make it up. If you came for the little adventures of the small ones, u came to the right side!!

For someone who are Human. Transmigrated still as Human. Happen to learn magic to become temporary Dragon to make ML happy. But not just making him Happy in Appearance, he himself also didn't expect he would end up also mating with ML not just in Human form but also in Dragon form. NOT Beastiality! It's HumanxHuman-form and DragonxDragon-form but NO HumanxDragon mating.

Unless the character permanently become Animal/Beast, I have NEVER read where the Protagonist themselves could have s*x in Non-Humanoid (Mer-Version doesn't include) version (Also I'm not talking about Beastiality. Also different and had read those before).

A very fluffy story about a family of dragons and their dad/God who one day appears (after long time) in their world after dying in his world.

Like most fluffy stories There's not too much world building but if you have a good imagination the descriptions are good enough.

The romance is very slow but it's fluffy enough with the dragon family shenanigans. I actually like how slow it is considering the past relationship with the ML and how young the MC is.

It's not all fluffy though considering dragons will be dragons... more>> & honorary dragon dad is merciless to those who would hurt his children. Canon fodder does not live very long lol.

TLDR:

Basically a typical adorable fluffy story about dragon family traveling & site seeing, a magic game system, slow romance, and a little bit of saving the dragon race on the side while utterly destroying the Canon fodder and robbing them. <<less

A cute but bizarre novel. It’s like the author had some fun abstract ideas but didn’t really want to go into details of how and why. Which is fine? Sometimes you just enjoy the weird experience with cute baby dragons.

So, while there are ‘villains’ and a sort of plot as MC tries to save the dragons from being hunted by the ‘Church’ after transmigrating to this new world, it all works out fairly well with minimal angst.

Personally I don’t think the MC is human 😅 the things he does makes... more>> no sense, especially with zero hints given by the author about his system or ability to raise dragon eggs and make contracts and use powers, unless he’s some sort of creature or entity himself.

While the extras can be a bit draggy in the middle, I’d recommend reading the last one as it involves MC going back to his home and wraps up the story. <<less

Pretty decent plot overall, lots of fluff with all the lil baby dragons with a hint of angst. The ending of the actual plot does feel like it came abruptly in my opinion.

The author does a really good job in showing the differences between the MC and ML who are different species, and their struggles when it comes to understanding each other.

This is a cute fluff piece where the main characters are OP and just living their lives trying to build their home. The child rearing, unlike other slice of life BL, includes the mischievous side of cubs, which is appreciated. There's not much world building, although the MC and family to their share of traveling and meeting new races/tribes. It's worth a read for anyone looking for a fantasy novel with a light plot and cute cubs to kill time.
