Well I watch the drama first before read the novel, but dang!!! Forget about the smut stuff, the plot play so natural when change one scene to another so it's worth being translate. Thank for the translator to do the work.

Personally I think as a smut novel this is probably one that has a seriously good and complex plot that doesn't just focus on explicit torture and s*x and all the characters have some depth to them. I would really recommend reading the book if you have the time although it is quite different from the drama and the female lead is much more badass and less annoying.

This is a rare SMUT filled novel! The plot is perfect. Character development and the story setting is so awesomely written.

The MC is not a damsel in distress and not OP! Meh, I hate those female lead that can die without someone saving them.

The ML is not so OP either, he is calculative, calm and perfect ?.

WOW... picked up the novel after watching the Chinese drama.., was I up for a SURPRISE. Positive surprise tho, things make more sense in the novel than in the drama. It's a really dark story. Hope the translator continues with the translation, I'm curious how it ends.

Honestly, the drama was what brought me here. Boy, was I shock LOL it was like reading p*rn! I fell in love with the characters in the drama. I can't help but to compare the two. However, the novel was ehhhh... mediocre at best, the sweet moments in the drama between MC and ML was not felt in the novel unfortunately. I really wanted a different ending to the drama so that's what brought me here, but I had to drop novel because it got too overdone with her... more>> constantly having to f*ck every guy. Although, a pro is that she is actually much more brave and actually complete the mission by killing the target. Unlike the drama, which didn't make sense that Won Mei an assassin that didn't even kill. I won't continue the novel anymore, I'll go with everyone's saying that she eventually met up with ML. <<less

I didn't expect this to be a tragedy novel, but it is definitely one of the recurring themes in this book. Surprisingly enough, I didn't get teary-eyed or overly emotional from reading tragedy. However, as the reader, I could still feel the despair, hopelessness, and perseverance that the characters have. The author's writing and plot setup were excellent, with everything being written having a sense of purpose.

In the fanfiction ending, the MC finds the ML and does not carry out her last mission to be free of the organization (to kill the ML). Instead, she disobeys Gong Zi's order and, for lack of a better word, reconciles with the ML. You can assume that they leave the secular world and live together in a life of isolation in order to protect themselves. On the other hand, if you disregard the fanfiction ending, then it's more likely to have a tragic finale.

I recommend this novel if none of the tags bother you (because it can get quite intense). All of the previous reviews I agree with, especially with it being a dark story.

This is really a surprising novel.

This is one of the few out there with plot. With all the xoxo scenes and all, you won't feel that it was just that. Ive watched the drama and it was totally different from the beginning to the point that only her name, some characters name and her being assassin was kept as is.

I like how flexible her mind is and how deep xiao san loved her.
