Jung Sejin married Kwon Yido, a dominant Alpha, in order to fix his crumbling family situation.

Even though he was known for being cold, their first meeting wasn’t that bad.

“I am Kwon Yido. You are…Jung Sejin?”

Kwon Yido was courteous, respectful and had meticulous manners. The moment he thought that the marriage, which he assumed would be the worst, wasn’t all that bad…Sejin felt a strange sense of incongruity in him.

He said, “Since it didn’t seem like you had breakfast, I have prepared your favourite dish.”

How does this person know my taste buds?

From food to clothes size. Kwon Yido knew things that even Se-jin didn’t know. Even his sudden heat cycles were dealt with perfectly…

“Sejin-ah.”

“…”

“Don’t be impulsive.”

‘He’ Kwon Yido was strange.

He was affectionate and kind to him as if Jung Sejin was his lover.

in this story

Also this is by the same author as Omega Complex and Alpha Trauma, to give an idea of the author's writing style.

The basic plot:

Spoiler

Jung Seijin and Kwon Yido were in an arranged marriage where everything that could go wrong, did go wrong horribly. It ended up in a tragedy.

But that was their first life and the story started at the beginning of their marriage in their second life.

Not that Jung Seijin remember, but Kwon Yido certainly did and was doing his best to fix everything that went wrong with their first life (which he mostly caused by being a flaming piece of shit).

Now onto the characters:

Jung Seijin
Spoiler

Our main character was the adopted dominant omega son of a middle-ish conglomerate family. He was adopted to be used and that family really did squeeze every drop of worth they could from him. His main use was, of course, to be married off, but since he was a capable manager, so he was also in charge of their company until his marriage.

Well one could expect, they didn't treat him good and so he was in desperate need of affection and care. His personality was obedient, with a calm but curious outlook. He wasn't exactly naive, but he had been restricted all his life and be forced to become a doormat, so he wasn't too good at expressing his sides, needs, and wants.

Kwon Yido
Spoiler

This man was a textbook case of scum Alpha buying an Omega in their first life. He was made to be hated and if Seijin wasn't in such a bad place mentally after years of abuse by his 'family', it was doubtful he would have stayed with that version of Kwon Yido at all. No self respecting person would.

As always, his regret came far too late. If it wasn't for the regression, there wouldn't be any story.

In the second life, he really did try his best to make things right for Seijin. He was a gentle and caring man who arranged everything for Seijin's best and pushed Seijin to aim for his own happiness and independence. Away from him, because he felt (rightly so) that he didn't deserve Seijin.

He really got his crematorium set at the easiest level. All the bad things that happened were things that he could have easily handled if only he paid a little attention, so now that he even knew the future, they were quickly dealt with. Seijin didn't remember anything and was in desperate need of affection, so he easily gained Seijin's love and affection again, so much that Seijin couldn't stay away even after remembering their first life.

In general, I find translations from Readhive to be pretty subpar tbh. I think that this novel is one of the better translations as I can read and understand most things happening but I do still have to do a bit of editing in my head. Main issue being the pesky 'him, they' when it makes a lot more sense if it was actually 'I, me' in the context of the situation. I'd say this translation is still ok to read as it won't kill your brain cells if you're fluent in English and reading comprehension is your forte. Otherwise stay clear of this if you want an 'easy' read lol.

Now personally, I've been reading both these novel translations and the official webtoon translation at the same time and I'd say that as of this moment, you're not losing out on much if you stick solely to just reading the webtoon. The webtoon pretty much covers everything the novel does without missing much details. The novel is still ahead by a decent amount tho and personally I find the story more engrossing in novel form which is why I read both.

Moving onto the story, we're still at the beginning stages of the story so I'll likely update this review in the future. This is currently one of my most anticipated novels mainly because I really like these type of plots but I would be lying if I said there was anything special about it that sets it apart from others of the same genre. Of course, this is still an early review as I'm eagerly awaiting plot developments but my current impressions of it is that it is definitely more of a slow burn. Not too many unexpected things happen but I'm not bored while reading this.

I MTLed this awhile back and I didn't finish it because I got annoyed with the MTL, but it's a good novel. Good, not great.

The MC is a little frustrating because he's completely spineless, but he was raised that way so it's not so frustrating that you can't stand him. He's not one of those MCs who seem to wallow in the abuse like pigs in poo (Black Lotus, I'm looking at you) and he's actually quite logical, even if his logic is twisted. In both lives he's a good... more>> person and he's trying his best.

I mostly read the parts with the reborn ML and he's a dream boat. Like, the perfect man. I know the ML was a scumbag in his previous life but if I was the MC I would forgive him. It's rare I saw that about garbage MLs, but unlike most MLs this one actually changes. A MLs suffering only benefits the reader, so it's annoying when the ML just gets really sad but doesn't make any meaningful changes to actually improve the MC's life and actually make it up to them. This ML puts in the work to change himself and give the MC everything he deserves.

All this being said there's a manhwa with a good translation out for this novel and I recommend reading that instead. The art is great and it's been true to the novel so far. <<less
