F University’s two most attractive men, Wang Guangning and Zhang Lingyi, constantly competed with each other regardless in what aspect.

Whether it was appearance, talent, popularity or even the number of abdominal muscles, they always contested with each other. Even the woman they pursued was the same.

Yet, these two xiao cao¹ who had self-proclaimed themselves as peerless in the aspect of love were completely rejected by the same woman.

Hence, they decided to retaliate against society by becoming gay.

They set an agreement to be gay for thirty days and even especially downloaded the list from the internet, thus preparing themselves to follow these standards in order to become a proper gay couple.

For example:

Watching a movie together…Hey, shou shou, remember to lean on my shoulder when you see a frightening scene, alright?

Warming their hands together in the same pocket…Hey, don’t wear that large military jacket outside, it’s really embarrassing!

***

By learning how to be gay from an unreliable guidebook for couples, two straight guys clash and end up with an unexpected outcome.

Their thirty days agreement has finished, yet can they truly return to their former lifestyles as if nothing ever happened?

[this is a positive review, but a critical one)
- the most obvious problem- the premise is dumb and nonsensical. They are both pursuing a girl, fight, but found out she was fooling them, so they decided to take vengeance on not only her, but society (? but okay). Then they start this "pretending to be gay ", writing a list of things to do, based basically on steriotypes of the roles in gay couples. Although s*upid, it makes sense 2 straight guys would think of that. Okay. so what would be the logical, normal people behaviour would be to 1- get embarassed and stop doing it or 2- thicken your face and do it very flamboyantly (because remember, the objective is to fool ppl) thinking "it's a prank". However, it went from this sort of middle ground, where they kind of do it but not really do anything scandalous, and get embarassed but also don't stop doing it... I get it that the other paths wouldn't be able to make this story bloom, but since you had to force your hand at writing a third, less realistic and likely path to make your story work, you lose good writing points. I also don't get why, if the point is to shock people, they do things in private. I would get it if it were a " we were enemies, but he's kind of cool I guess so we're friends now and we're hanging out in private, and things turn ambiguous", but thats not what happens. They hate each other less, but meet especifically wanting to do those gay things on the list... in their homes. Yeah, what? There's also not much beyound that, no interesting side plots or characters.

Okay, despite the long paragraph, its just nitpicking and it doesnt affect the overall flow of the story. After you get over that rough beginning, things are suprisingly okay! nothing revolutionary, but a fast paced, light read, with friendly banter between the two.

But after chapter 30... it's just good! I loved it!!! I can't spoil much, but the fluff gets relly fluffly, and their personalities are developed better. Their interactions are more sincere and ate not bound to that "doing things on the list" format, and that makes it much more dynamic. And honestly? really heartwarming. It is clear that both parties love each other and they show it. There's no consent or problematic issues, its just a really light read that surpringsingly gives you the feels

i feel that the first half was a bit bland, but the second was so good it won me over completely. But yknow, objectively? this is just a run if the mill ya romance novel guys.. its not gonna be extraordinary. Don't read it expecting something else. But if you want fluff, youre in for a good ride

This is a good novel. At the beginning is was like kind of too slow (for me) but then the story progressed rapidly. But never thought there's something unnecessary scenes or anything exaggerated.

Spoiler

While reading the story portrayed like ZLY would be the first person to fell in love and to realize that but unexpectedly that didn't happen. And I was shooked too. Like I thought after spending their vacation he'll understand his feelings and reject the girl but unexpectedly after so much happened he still thought he's fine to date another girl.

That separation was like hell. I don't like protagonists being separated because of misunderstanding but thankfully author didn't go to the details of their painful separation journey or I would have cried like hell.

I would recommend to read. <<less
