1. Idk why people questioning about the ML and his reason to fall in love with the MC. Actually, this pattern is very common in romance novels. It's very clear that the ML was attracted by the MC's personality while communicating with him on several occasions. It's fast, yes but logically, it makes sense. The ML felt jealous but he never forced his feeling. Most of the time, he suppressed them. The MC felt annoyed by it because he had not have good impression of the ML in the first place so that when the ML show a bit of negative attitude, it quickly triggered the MC. Even if the ML shown a good attitude, the MC won't reciprocate him, so the ML next responses are make sense. Actually, they only need an open and deep communication but with the two personality, it's impossible (I hope to see character development in this aspect)
2. For the book store boss (i forgot his name, sorry), what he loved in the MC is very clear. 80℅ of his love is towards the MC look. You can see it when he was so anxious about MC's face being scratched by that mad grandma (it feels very different in comparison to others characters anxiousness towards the MC injuries). And how he employeed the MC after only seeing him once. I don't particularly like or hate him. But his loved is a bit weird and made me feel uncomfortable when reading it.
3. I saw Ling Li as the friends of the MC since the first time they interact with each other. It is possible for Ling had romantic feeling towards the MC but I could not see the MC had that kind of feelings toward Ling. MC really love him liked a brother and I think that's pretty good. I don't dislike Ling if he romantically attracted to the MC, but what makes me uncomfortable is Ling's behavior such as: lying that he lost the gift to the ML so admitting to the ML that the gift from the MC is from him. After that, he felt guilty, but using the kindness of the MC to try to get affirmation that what he had done is admittable while holding the true reason behind his action.
Maybe this is my own problem as I had trust issue that come from my past friendship, so when I see Ling's behavior, even if he had tragic past, I dislike his decision when it came to the relationship between him, MC, and ML. MC is so pure and open and truly love Ling which made me even more uncomfortable looking at Ling that try to take MC loved as granted.
