This was a lot more angsty than I expected XD. I think I knew this before, which is why I held back on reading it for so long. But this time, I had no idea what to read, so I decided to pick randomly from my reading lists and start reading without looking at the summary and the reviews. AS SUCH, I was completely turned over, again and again, by the sheer amount of angst lolol. It's not a bad thing though, the characters of the novel are interesting, even... more>> if this is not necessarily a character-driven work, the plot development was meaningful. Overall, even though I personally dislike tragic stories (even those with happy endings like this one), I ended up reading this to the end, which speaks volumes I think?

SUMMARY:

The MC, Su Jingyang is just a normal man. He's a bit foolish and naive, but he means well most of the time. Unfortunately, his ignorance about pregnancy ends up causing him to be dragged into a tragic experience by a corrupted SYSTEM. Not only is he forced to have children endlessly, but he experiences constant humiliation on a regular basis to make it happen. There's nothing that can be done about it. At least, he got to choose the man who would be the father of his children, but it's pretty much the same as not choosing at all, since he was in so much of a rush that he didn't even take in his appearance. And so, the story proceeds, with the MC struggling to live in ancient times while being tormented by the corrupted system. In the process, he connects with a kindred spirit that will turn into a lifelong friend. And, of course, he'll end up meeting the ML, Ah-Yi/Rong Ci.

CHARACTERS: 8.5/10

Su Jingyang (MC)

A silly young man. He's the kind to speak carelessly and has a one-tracked mind. It's easy to dislike him at times, especially when he's being particularly stubborn. Anyway, he's far from perfect, which is what makes him a good main character. After all, given his circumstances, his desires were perfectly reasonable.

Rong Ci (ML)

The ML is pretty interesting. He's a bit tsundere-ish. Very devoted. Just like the MC, he's far from perfect, but just like the MC, those imperfections makes him a lot more interesting than your typical overbearing ML.

ROMANCE: 8.5/10

Although in someways, it seemed like the ML fell a bit too fast, I enjoyed the bickering aspect of this relationship. XD At least, they have more chemistry than the other side-characters in the story. They just seem like a real couple.

SETTING: 7/10

The setting may be a bit fantastical, but it's nothing special. It's just background, for the most part, and is never fully explored. I initially thought there would be more to it, but nope. Just in case, however: This is a fantasy version of ancient times where there are magic, martial artists, Gu, etc. And, most importantly, there are three genders: male, female, duo (males that can give birth). The MC awakens in this world without an identity while the ML has a very high established identity.

PLOT: 7/10

This score may be a bit biased XD but idc. If you like angsty plots, then of course you'll rate this higher. As for me, it was just so-so. What's good, in my opinion, is that the author kept it short. Which made the plot less unlikable in my eyes.

RATING: 3.87/5

Although this novel is really not my kind of novel, I can't deny that it's pretty good. Worth reading, especially if you like angst and stuff. Saying this, it's almost like I'm saying the story is all tragedy xD. But it's actually pretty good about balancing the good and the bad. The theme of this story should be relationships. Specifically, how true love can result in disaster -- and how sometimes, things work out, and sometimes, they don't. The MC and the ML's struggle is just part of the story (the MC wants to go back to Modern Times and continues to resolutely pursue this goal till the end). There are also some subplots with other pairs, where the theme is explored. Anyway, what's important is that the main characters do come out of it happy in the end. <<less

Omg it was totally unexpected to me, I thought it would be just a simple mpreg and fluffy romance story.

Ohh but I was so wrong, this story is really amazing, it needs a lot of more views and ratings.

I totally enjoyed reading it even though I skipped few chapters in between but it was an amazing read.

While reading first half of the story, I thought it was ok so I skipped few chapters in between cause I was getting irritated my MC's insistence on going back to his world... more>> and being completely cold and unfeeling to ML and their kids, it made me uncomfortable but I still persisted and didn't drop the story, one of the best decisions I made.

This story made me cry quite a bit and made me felt heartache for ml. Especially in last few chapters.

I actually liked ling li a lot I thought at first, he was ML candidate and liang li he was such a nice person and he loved MC alot. I felt psined for them.

And murong hua past life made me cry buckets ╥﹏╥

MC's and Ml's kids were way too cute especially the twins, I would love to read more chapters just about them.

I highly recommend this story to u guys, cause it will give u huge surprise by its plotline and leave u curious about where the story's going and whats about to come.

I hate this story from the bottom of my heart. No, it's not because it was bad or anything. You can see it through the other reviews.

I learned about this translation when it is still chapter 6, no implication of being posted anywhere (even in NU). So it surprised me, as if I'm holding a rare gem that I digged in Wattpad. Then I read the raws.

I started hating it.

It was just so good! I bawled my eyes out for this novel. I hated it. But I love it. I... more>> always mentioned this novel to my friends for months, as a recommendation. But also truthfully saying that I have love-hate relationship with this novel and author.

This novel started with a comedic note which was obviously written in the synopsis, but it hasn't been long when it started to go downhill.

I never seen an MC who suffered so much with his system. In other system-bound novels (esp quick transmigration), bad systems that limits the host were mentioned as a past. Not this current timeline which the readers were bound to see in this novel.

It's dog blood, also.

The author of this novel loves writing angst novel and it's not the first time they wrote an MC who suffered enough, broke enough, mol*sted enough to go on.

It's a good read for anyone who have this type of story as their cup of tea. The other reviews said enough about how good this novel is.

I also used this novel to pranked someone into reading it. They cried so much, apparently. It was nice to have someone to experience the same pain I endured with this novel.

This novel is like a journey. The story is not too heavy and doesn't need a lot of thinking. Having said that, I really cant never predict where the story goes.

and I just want to say that the emotional turbulent that the MC felt... really hit close to home. It is so relatable that I really felt what the MC is feeling..

There is definitely fluff and and a HE, but I felt a bit unsatisfied because I needed way more fluff after all the bleakness. I also found the protagonist storyline to be a bit convoluted and like it was thrown in just to be one more stab to the heart, lol. That's why I'm rating this a 5, though I'd say it's more 4.2 for me since I didn't like

It takes a while for the ML to be revealed which I think maybe contributes to why some reviewers fixated on other ships. Also the word choices/visuals the author uses at times. Did you really need to describe MC and his bestie's breath mingling? IMO the author made them a little too codependent which also contributes to my unsatsfied feeling. I'm glad they love their husbands in the end but let them grow old together! T_T

This novel is completely translated on Wattpad. I need more people reading this novel. It's so good!!! Please read this. The main characters, the side characters, all the characters were so fleshed out and interesting. With that being said, they are smart!!! They piece things together by themselves and use context clues to arrive at a logical conclusion. And. That. Is. So. Refreshing.

There was rarely a time I thought the novel was dragging. The pacing was perfect. Every little detail in this novel means something. No plot holes in sight.... more>> The way things slowly unravels was so thrilling and satisfying. 10/10 would recommend. My opinion on the pairing:

I know some people were unhappy about the pairing. And I totally understand where they are coming from. The author just did too good of a job depicting the relationship between MC and Ling Li. However, do not let this deter you from reading this novel. The relationship between MC and ML was also written very well. And I think the author did a great job highlighting the love and affection MC has for the ML AND the love and affection he has Ling Liv (platonically? Like soul sister or brothers in this case lmao). MC did not have s*xual relations with Ling Li.

A bit angsty but sweet, I cried for the babies that never get born and suffer. The MC transmigrated in a world where the 3rd gender is a duo, a male that can give birth, he was punish by a system every 5th night the ML will come and make love with him until he got pregnant! A bit funny also coz the ML and the MC loves to bicker! Also love the side characters... got an unexpected Happy Ending!

I guess this one is a 70% miss for me. It started out quite intriguing and I enjoyed the slice of life aspect, I liked a few side characters, really enjoyed the character development and the mystery.

But at around chapter 40 I just got more and more anxious about the plot. And what characters were going to end up with each other. I feel like after this point there was little relief from the built up angst.

It felt like a constant uphill on the angst scale and absolutely no dips.... more>> Then there were confusing side dips in there that no one seemed to know how to categorize.

I actually just straight up skipped the last 9 chapters or something because I just couldn't deal with the stalling anymore. I like angst from time to time but if there's absolutely no relief in-between and you're getting absolutely nothing that could help you figure out what is happening I consider it to be a flop.

Definitely interesting characters, good character development and the baseline idea was great. But the actual storytelling definitely ruined it for me.

I don't suggest this to anxiety riddled readers because this is pure torture. Because I couldn't find a summary of the ending I had to read the last two chapters and skip through the extra to know what happened to the characters that I cared about.

And I was dissapointed in a specific ending for a side character. <<less

I don't have a huge expectation when reading this. Many Chinese novels have countless plot holes, characters defect, and unnecessary plot despite their good ideas about the the novels.

Then..

Then the author makes me compassionate. I can feel the careful thought author put for the story. Characters all consistent just as personality won't easily change. I love the revelation of secret is not treated as goals, but one piece to advance the story. Lastly, I feel CONTENT. The story didn't end just with 'happy ending'. It is not a 'mission' story... more>> that end after the mission accomplished. So, this novel is a MUST in your reading list. <<less

FML what the hell. I haven't hated a premise of a novel in a super long time. I thought it sounded whack and I kinda like crack-ish elements in MPreg.

I already immediately hated the system and the premise and really couldn't find the humor in it. Like bruh I'm the type who doesn't even mind noncon sometimes. But this just really pissed me off.

The story started off soooo good! I loved the MC and the way he was strong and tried his best. How he didn't take crap from others. How deeply he cared for his friends.
But omg when I got to chapter 50ish the story hit a wall for me and a began to seriously dislike him.

he is so unlikeable when it comes to how he treats the ML. He is so annoying and aggressive but not in a cute way. I also can't believe how long he dragged out the "I want to go home" thought. He literally had multiple babies, clearly loved the ML and was still wasting time collecting good will points for days at a time. Like go home to your children and husband sir. I would have preferred if they solved this s*upid point around 60 chapters so we could focus on fluff

I like it very much.

It's not the best novel I've read but I really enjoy it.

It's peaceful and I had a good time reading it.

It doesn't have too much drama. Even the sh*tty system isn't that bad, it's annoying but it's okay though.

MC is quite simple but he is not dumb and ML is really nice and understanding. Other characters are interesting and the story is not boring at all even if there is not big plot twist or face slapping.

I completed this story in 26 hours and it was worth it!

It was a very pleasant read and I absolutely love the characters. The MC is an idiot but he's not s*upid. He's quite hilarious.

The ML is also very likeable! He's persistent with the MC but not terribly cliche and obsessive. He's a very attentive and doting husband and father.

... more>> The babies are very cute! They are very well loved by the MC contrary to his personality.

My favorite would be relationship between the MC and the secondary character. Their friendship is just very heartwarming.

The plot itself is also very interesting! The plot twists and revelations were unexpected!

This story is an easy read! I highly recommend for those who just started danmei but not unfamiliar with BL. <<less

Some story have great ideas/start but have bad execution, but this the opposite, its have really bad start (i don't even like the title) but great execution, the story really good tbh.

Why I read this in the first place when I don't like the title and summary? Bcs the one of my fav translator pick this. At first I doubt and when reading early chapters, I full of madness with the ridiculous system. But I still following it and not dissapointed at all. I read reviews saying ‘I wish MC and Ling Li got together instead’ before I started reading this novel so my defenses were prepared! But... I can’t help but ship them even though I knew they aren’t meant to be

how good would it be if their provincial life of running the restaurant, cooking meals, just plain living continued. I know Ling Li fell in love with the MC but he just didn’t confessed anymore because he knows that the MC loves him a lot but only as a friend.

I’m kinda okay with MC ending up with the ML but he really isn’t the best choice cause he kinda forced himself on MC too! (And im not referring to him being under the system’s control and driving a car with MC)

I mean those times like when he found out that MC was pregnant (and he doesn’t know it was his) he forcefully abducted MC to his city!! Plus, it was never explained how he fell in love with MC. I know that some people become infatuated or like others at first glance but the ML seemed to somehow love or obsessed with the MC right away.

They have their sweet moments and ML’s attitude improved when they started having kids so I’m okay that he ended up with MC too

I also hate that guy Ming Mingsheng, the one that Rong Hua married in his past life. Like argh! He wants Rong Hua to forgive him for his s*upid s*upid actions when what he does is something that can never be forgiven. Like he wants to force Rong Hua to forgive him, I’m glad that Rong Hua didn’t choose him in the end.

I fill like there were too much side stories in this story. It’s okay if the stories were given more chapters to be dwelled on or explained or if they weren’t kinda redundant but sometimes the other side stories feel like just fillers

If it was possible to give this story 0 stars I would.

The writing isn't bad, the translation is ok, but the plot... MY god THE PLOT IS GUTTER tr*sh.

I have never hated reading danmei as much as I have now.

This novel is chock-full of manipulative leads and rapists. The story seems to push the agenda that if you're powerful and you're strong and you have a partner... all you have to do is just lock them up and they will eventually fall right back into your arms. Never mind the... more>> fact that they repeatedly said NO- they don't want a relationship with you, they don't like you and they don't want you. Just imprison them until they say yes!

I admittedly skimmed to the very end, hoping that maybe the male lead would change for the better, but no he's still hot gutter tr*sh.

THE POSITIVE REVIEWS HERE PAINT A FALSE NARRATIVE. DONT READ THIS IF YOU VALUE CONSENT AND "ACTUAL" HAPPY ENDINGS.

I went into this story completely skeptical. I left surprised at having somewhat enjoyed it. The ending was satisfying. But the journey there was just — I have a complicated relationship with this story. I neither wanted to finish it, but at the same time, I had to finish it because I wanted to know just how it was going to go. Let's just say that there's a whole lot of coercion going on in the story, and even if there's 'love', doesn't justify the manipulative actions of the male... more>> leads of the other duos and MC. They basically had their manipulation guns at the ready just because they can't bear for their husbands to leave. The shou of each gong just fell in love due to exposure and being softened up by good actions. Also, the story reads like a bitter woman venting about men and their callous disregard of the hardships of childbirth, rearing, and raising. My brother and I had a good laugh about it. I still read it though. Also, if anyone is sensitive about coercion, even on a piece of fiction, y'all probably shouldn't read this. Translation is great though, kudos to TL for that. Story was good too, but I would've enjoyed it more had there been no 'wife' bs or imposing of feminine roles or male roles, although I do understand that it's part of the story (also, it's mostly on Jingyang's side) ; I still hated reading about people calling other men wives or something.

TLDR: Good story, alright translation, kinda venting story written by the og author, lots of manipulation on the gongs' parts, plenty of pregnancy, suffering pregnant people, and HE. <<less

For most part I have enjoyed reading this novel however there were moments where I was really annoyed with the main character's unreasonable (in my opinion) insistence to go home, indifference towards his loved ones, as well as the amount of drama around the other multiple couples. Dont get me wrong, I do like drama and I liked the characters, I even felt sorry for the villain but at times I kind of felt overwhelmed with the drama. It seemed like there was too many different things going on at... more>> the same time. This is mostly close to the end. It felt somewhat chaotic almost.

Still I did enjoy reading this novel, it was full of everything. Funny at times, exciting, dramatic, some angst and at other times really sad. It did work well and I recommend reading it if you haven't yet. <<less

This was just okay. It was a nice read with some added cathartic moments; but not a best fluffy read. It has a HE but, I don't know why; I just didn't like the multiple rebirths and the fact the MC was a little too dumb, and had a cantankerous (ascerbic) personality. So this is just an Okay read 3 stars. I finally can take this off my "Want To Read" list. However; I may not read it again...
