This is one of those novels which I started to make up for the lack of reviews (had 0 reviews when I started reading it). The translation is great.

The leads in the novel have distinct trait that don't disappear suddenly but gradually evolve as character development.

ML: ML is like a sharp sword full of aggressiveness and blood thirsty. Bcuz of his past trauma, he developed a liking to killing which he thankfully channeled to the battlefield. The part about him is that even though he is cruel, he has a firm bottom line. He uses his strength to fight evil and protect the weak.

FL: She is a sweet innocent and pure medical lady. It's not that she doesn't understand how cruel life can be, but she sticks to her moral ethics and strictly abides by the medical code of ethics. She uses her healing skills to help and never harm. And puts humanity before personal interests.

Romance: FL like ML first and her love is like a gentle stream of water, silent, steady and continuous, whereas MLs love is like a blazing fire, passionate and hot. Even though ML has a strong and cruel personality, he is very gentle towards FL. One sentence that comes often in the novel is, "he didn't tease her any further, for fear of annoying her to the point of not being able to be coaxed later on" (sorry for the crude translation).

She liked him a lot and the experience rom past life made her unable to open up her feelings as she's used to bottling them up and hiding in the most secret corner of her heart.

He on the other hand, starts with simple attraction, starts with teasing her, gradually develops affection, becomes paranoid in love over time. He is very possessive and has strong desires for MC but he always controls his strength for fear of hurting MC.

The plot is sweet and mainly revolves around MC and a huge portion is spent on romantic development. The other parts are a lightly discussed. There is development in the background but it's very subtle and does not take away the spotlight from the main couple.

I really loved the twist at the end which made FL grow more confident and better prepared her as a queen. Overall it's a nice light read <<less

Historical romance with a very gentle, rabbit-ish healer FL, and a wolfish, violent General ML who is super sweet and doting on her. Interesting plot, cute kid, and plenty of lights-out type of snu snu.

I will continue when the translated chapters are completed but I'll likely drop it.

Reasons why I'm dropping the story:

1. FL's personality is too meek for my taste. She seems to often be a damsel in distress requiring the ML to save her from different scenarios. She may be a genius doctor but she seems to be too naive. The bullying by her stepmom-in-law was stopped by the ML. Her son also stops some of the schemes by the 2nd brother's wife and he's only FOUR!! Sure, they mentioned that FL... more>> is sharp-tongued and doesn't care about the rumors/gossip etc but she just gives the sense of meek naive FL. Even when Li Yifang's mum was rude to her when FL turned down the marriage proposal, FL just leaves her with some sarcastic remarks but still treated the lady anyway. She just seems to be like a pushover, she cares a lot about patients and is empathetic and that also means she just let this bad things slide over her without her doing much to stop it. When Huo Lang, the ML's father wanted to take Huo Xi her child to stay with him, FL couldn't say no. I just feel like I'd prefer a more forthgoing FL who fights for her rights. 2. FL is also so terrified of the ML that she can't be honest with him. She's always trembling in his presence despite "loving/admiring" him and I find that very unsettling, coupled with his domineering alpha male personality, it doesn't make me want to continue reading.

3. The story progresses very slowly. It is only so many chapters in that we find out exactly when the FL was rebirthed. I was wondering why the story is called rebirth until they reveal it much later. I'm at C38 and the story is progressing so slowly that I lost my interest.

Will try to read this story again later but so far its not my cup of tea. <<less

This is so good and nice to read. A breather from bloody plots from the usual historical novels here in NU thats takes up more than 1 thousand chapters to finish

so far so good! The novel has potential. I like the fact that the main character has medical abilities, but isn’t super powered I don’t know if it was just me, but the site was just black out, and I had to keep refreshing the page other than that excited for more.

One of my fvorite novel so far. I always want to read this kind of couple combination but the FL is usually kinda dumb or trying to be badass but fail. I'm very happy becaus I love both of the main chatacters so much! I wish the author keep it ongoing because I love how it has drama but also feels like slice of life, just right amount of drama without make you get high blood presure. Thank you so mich translator-nim for your hard work!!

MTLed but haven't read the extras. Gotta say this is 4.5 for me.

Of course a timid and kind FL would meet an unruly but indulging ML.

Characters are chefs kiss, but the character development is okay I guess. Specifically for FL, it feels rushed because of time skip almost at the end of the story (mini spoiler: plus the secret identity, you think a commoner MC with no golden finger would always be a commoner? A hidden background is the golden finger you missed 💅✨)

Some elements in the story are... more>> kinda nonsense, I mean, an unborn child crying in their mother's womb? Nah hahaha, just turn your brain off whenever something absurd comes up.

Storyline is good although I do have a soft spot for historical novels.

Translation quality is also great.

The FL personality is not to my liking which made reading the book a bit of a drag. The plot is ok, a lot of cliches, but the development is well done for a novel of this length. Liked the ML but felt he wasn’t human as in not relatable.

The beginning was promising but somewhere along the way, it became strange. Baby crying in the womb, and saying it's a fantasy novel but nothing else seems to indicate that there's magic except being reborn. Another thing that's tough to belive is the MC was about 16 years old but would already be considered a renowned doctor. Also, the constant mention about her beauty or how delicate she is a bit much

I don’t officially rate books I haven’t finished unless they’re truly terrible. But my unofficial rating would be 3 ⭐️.
it’s an okay book a little dull and a bit of strangeness. The baby crying in the womb and people on the outside hearing... I thought it would mean some sort of magical element but nope. It doesn’t really feel like it has a plot things have just happened with no real direction. I’m curious about a lot of things like MLs relationship to his mother the scar on his neck how did he know about her being in the palace and why become emperor? But I feel like I’m slogging through the chapters and only enjoying a few moments before just muddling along. I’m taking a break but maybe I’ll come back.
MC has kind of a bland and meek personality that is supposed to be unbothered yet knowing and cool. She’s only sharp when it comes to medicine matters but so far those scenes have been limited after she gave birth/married. I like a bit more energy and kick to my MC especially towards the ML. She lets him keep misunderstanding things and says she will clear it up but 1) ML thinks he knows better and talks over her (and she’s like we had our first fight as a couple like no that’s not cute) 2) it to the third party to clear things up but only to ML she doesn’t know he knows but now he has a whole other misunderstanding. her rebirth hasn’t really been used much to her advantage, the only thing was remembering ML didn’t die so there wasn’t any reason for her to stay in the city. All that did was get her a marriage, with the noble ladies misunderstanding her to be some master manipulator/schemer. there’s also no revenge since whatever happened in her last life didn’t happen this time and she’s not going to help out her blackmailer. Maybe it’s her code of ethics as a doctor but personally I found that boring since I do like the type of MC to even the scales bc they know the other person is still wicked at the core.
ML is usually the type I like but I got kind of the ick when he talks over her, has a weird flip flop interest in their son sometimes he wants to know more about him (and by extension his wife) and is amused by him and sometimes he doesn’t seem to care, while I know it’s for a good reason I get kinda grossed out when the devoted SO lets others believe he’s a cheater. TBH I don’t feel like they’ve had any real emotional depth to their relationship while they act like a married couple, they don’t communicate much and MC has a weird thing about not letting him know her fondness for him because it stems from her original hero worship.

This was a really good book. The plot went at a good pace. I really liked the ML. He was devoted and black bellied, which is a good combination in my book. I like really alpha ML. The translation is excellent.

The MC was okay. Very smart and accomplished, but Mary Sue. She's not one of those villainess types that are currently popular right now, so you will be disappointed if you want one of those types. But I don't think She's as bad as some as the other readers say... more>> she is. She's shy, but that doesn't mean she doesn't have a backbone. Also her gentle personality means that she will use her brains instead of getting into a physical brawl. The only exception was when it involved her son.

Almost all of her conflicts involve a war of words that involve double meanings. If you don't pay attention, you will miss it. One example is her confrontation

The ending is well written. The side stories are uneven. Some are good and some I just skimmed because I was bored
