On a certain day, Chu Yi, feeling quite peculiar, goes to a bar for a drink and ends up drastically changing his life.

Unspeakable deeds were done and he accidentally picks up a husband.

It was quite a coincidence that this husband of his turned out to be a senior from his school, the one who people call a ‘mountaintop flower’.

However, he didn’t expect that this aloof and hard-to-approach husband of his to not only flirt without batting an eye but also love eating vinegar (getting jealous).

When he talks to others, his husband eats vinegar.

When he laugh with others, his husband eats vinegar.

When he compliment others, his husband eats vinegar.

Even when he post about anything related to others on his Moments on WeChat, his husband eats vinegar.

Chu Yi understood later that his husband should be pampered, and should be the only one in his heart.

Qin Yiheng has always lived his life the way he planned and he has never strayed off from his plans. Until one day, he met a certain person in a bar and certain things happened.

In a responsible manner, he decided to marry this person, brought them back home and included him in his plans. He was ready to live a life of mutual respect with this person.

However, he didn’t expect that the husband he picked up would actually make him so addicted.

This is actually really good if u like slow but still had bits of sweetness on every chapters. It's slow bcos the ML is dense towards his own feeling's and both MC and ML took awhile to confessed while at the same time aware of each other feelings and indulged themselves and us readers with their daily flirting and pda. at first im a bit skeptical of the ML's words like "don't touch me, let's not interfere in each other personal life" sounds harsh and cold ain't it? But then... more>> the next day he would be cuddling the MCs In bed 😂 it happened multiple times but once he realized his feelings he's ur perfect husband. That's it... To sum it up it focused more on building the mains relationship and affectio

This two are so damn cute! LOL

I love MC's internal monologue especially during the 1st parts when whenever he can't stand ML's unintentional flirting 😂

ML is also so s*upidly clueless in social etiquette 😂

I read this through MTL but even with the broken English, it still put a s*upid grin on my face. This is the story to read when you're feeling down and just want to escape from reality for a while.

Dropped.

I found the characters unlikeable and lacking depth, which made it difficult for me to become invested in their stories.

The world-building was lacking and the relationship between leads was boring & forced. The dynamic between them was even worse (a yes man and an obsessive controlling husband don't make for a pleasant read). The entire story was super shallow. Quite a waste of my time.

This novel is straight up 99% dog food and a little bit of plot. Despite what the title may have you believe, there are actually 2 vinegar jar husbands in this haha! The ML has superhuman powers of communication though, and literally every time he feels jealous, he will later tell the MC and they come to a tacit understanding of the matter. It’s basically a fantasy romance, with any potential drama being cut down at its source lol

I wouldn’t worry about there being too much jealousy either, as ML... more>> is very reasonable about his feelings and doesn’t actually try to control MC beyond what MC is comfortable with. He can be a little too blunt sometimes, but this also translates into the most effective flirting that I have ever read. The lines that ML says are honestly swoon worthy haha I could definitely relate to the MC falling for it every time.

The author keeps things interesting by having them fall for each other after marriage and the lowkey mutual pining is literally so sweet, as they’re oblivious to each others’ true feelings while also acting like the most in-love couple possible. The ML starts off a little cold, but he still is somehow the perfect model husband even at the start, and the gradual shift in his feelings and actions is really well paced. MC also has quite a bit of character growth, as aided by ML’s guidance, and he is able to speak his feelings and act confidently in front of his lover by the end.

Though not too much happens, the sugar in this novel is enough to sustain me for weeks. Absolutely the best palette cleanser after all the other dog blooded dramas. The communication in this novel really sets a standard for a healthy relationship and green flag ML. If anything, the MC was the more emotionally repressed one in the relationship and ML had to be the one to draw out his feelings haha!

I’ll also say that I looooooved their nicknames for each other, and how they always referred to each other as “husband” and “little husband” like please that’s so cute!! Also kudos to the fact that ML never called MC his wife... not that I have a problem with that term but it’s just nice to have such a sweet married couple have more interesting pet names for each other! <<less

Pretty good to pass the time, dilly dally in good mood. It's actually a lil bit greasy at the end, but I like how their romance work. Both MC and ML still a stranger at first, their communication also not good, but they eventually make it work together. Well, their friends and family are good people too, so these two little ducks fall in love in the right path. There's no villain, just a bad dad. Overall, it's almost like a fairy Tale.

Pure fluff, light-hearted and left me giggling from the sweetness

If you have read a somewhat depressing/tragic/somber toned novel before this, it's a good novel to read as a break from it

This novel is so boring to me nothing ever happens! It's a sugar story with no substance.

The type of novel written specificely for people that complain about dog blood novels on nu giving them low ratings just because they hate "toxic" tropes while screaming their love for "healthy" dynamics in a novel like this.

4.6 for this is just a luducrious rating but I shouldn't be suprised since nu reviwers trend towards loving boring novels like this over interesting ones.

I hope the translator ever gets to read this. I couldn’t write a comment directly on the novel’s site. This was a fantastic read. Enjoyable from beginning to end. Slow and intimate pace, splurged with comedic moments, and nothing felt added for the sake of extending a novel. I was quite sad when I realised I had reached the end. It’s nicely written, witty and really good translated. So Snaggletooth, thanks so much for translating this.

This novel is a drama free, smooth sailing love after marriage kinda novel. There is no real conflict between the main CP. In fact they got along well even when they barely knew each other. They went from polite strangers who got married on their second meeting to infatuated lovers that got along like an old couple but still have the chemistry of newlyweds.

The development while quite fast considering how the main story started on their first day of marriage and ended on the 100th day after marriage. It was... more>> still really sweet and didn't feel rushed. Although, the end of the main story was somewhat sudden that I initially thought of it as a joke by the translator when I saw the word "End" at the bottom of the chapter. Needless to say that I was surprised when I saw that the next chapter was an extra chapter so I went on novelupdates to double-check the chapter amount. Usually, I am turned off by extra chapters, especially when they don't have any plot but only fluff. This time, however, the extra chapters were very much needed to ease myself into the ending of the novel.
Spoiler

On top of that, we got to read about their first meeting which, I am sure, everyone was curious about. The obligatory wedding chapters rounded up the whole experience quite nicely.

The characters were all quite likeable, except for one or two; Chu Yi's father and that one xuezhang who used to be shipped with Chu Yi during their university days and whose name I have forgotten since he kinda dropped off the face of the earth after finding out that Chu Yi is married. That was kinda anticlimactic, but oh well~

I liked how Chu Yi did not quite fit any conventional shou mold. He is neither a dense, naive vase nor is he an op Mary Sue. He is pretty normal. While good-looking he is also humble and hard-working, gentle, outgoing and easily makes new friends. Yet he at times can be too humble due to a lack of a sense of security or slightly low self-esteem that stems from his upbringing.

He fits really well with the ML, Qin Yiheng, who is basically his polar opposite in some aspects. Qin Yiheng is very secure in himself, steadfast and headstrong, but also taciturn with low EQ. He doesn't bother with socializing if not necessary and rather keeps to himself. So Chu Yi complements him quite nicely as the younger man makes him open up more while Qin Yiheng gives Chu Yi a sense of security.

They balance each other out. As Qin Yiheng said when explaining why he decided to marry Chu Yi: They are suitable. I doubt he knew how right he was with that statement when he said it back then. But he sure was right.

To sum up, if you are in need of a smooth sailing feel-good novel that doesn't make you lose braincells due to unreasonable characters and plot points, look no more. This novel is the right one for you. <<less

I’M OBSESSED.

As well as diabetic now because the amount of sugar this novel had. Pure insanity.

I honestly can’t wrong this novel if you were reading it on the basis of wanting pure fluff & cute romance. Marriage of convenience isn’t exactly my favorite trope, but this didn’t have the crazy misunderstandings that would usually drive readers insane with frustration. I thought the build up to the main CP’s relationship was well-paced & reasonably realistic. Not to say it was perfect, but 99% there. I enjoyed the secondhand embarrassment &... more>> be real here—who in the right mind wouldn’t swoon over Qin Yiheng?

Those who disagree with me are liars. Qin Yiheng you will be the death of me if you were real.

Definitely a novel I’d reread more than once to get my fill of bone-crushing fluff. <<less

I got diabetes reading this. 100/10

Kidding aside, if you are looking for a short but super sweet novel this one is for you. I wasn't expecting anything when I started this but thank God I read this.

You know that feeling when you were younger and you had that sweet moments with your crush? I felt that way reading this.

... more>> ML's sweet gestures and his unconscious flirting is top tier. Not to mention he's very flexible when it comes to MC.

Really, if you are looking for a sweet and not boring novel, YOU HAVE TO READ THIS. <<less

Awesome translation, a nice and lighthearted story! I never imagined that I would read a novel that isn't full of misunderstandings + solve things maturely (this story caught me really off-guard. Thinking that straightforwardness and bluntness about what you think to communicate are really the keys to a nice relationship). It was like a cake that you won't get tired of, to be fair I never noticed it was even dragged lmao.

I resurrected from hell to review this novel.

This isn't a masterpiece but it's enough to soothe a tired heart. It's very fluffy and warm.

It's not exactly slow burn but it's progressive relationship from one night stand to husband to lovers. The feeling was kinda shoujo-ish. Made you giggle and kyaaaks.

... more>> It's lacking in drama/problem department. Most of them are dealt quickly and off screen. So it can be bland sometimes (and at the end it does feel a bit draggy).

At first their relationship is very imbalanced. But as they progress and open up it's wonderful.

Overall I recommended this one for someone having problems in their life or someone who just read dog blood/angst novel. Or someone who need pure fluff dog food. <<less

Pure fluff, loved it to bits. The title might make it seem there's a lot of instances of misunderstandings or jealously but it's actually all very trivial. It's so sweet that I ended up teary-eyed during some interactions.

Very cute and very fluffy!

Really enjoyable read, and despite the fluffiness, it wasn't actually boring in terms of tooth-rotting-sweetness. The main couple grows a lot together, especially the ML.

Spoiler

The contrast between the cold ML in the beginning to the ML who likes the MC later on is super cute. Especially when ML was super clueless.

Also that the MC is very good at making friends, which makes the ML at loss sometimes, very cute.

[collapse]

Both MC and ML are adults, so the writing is mature enough to reflect that. They deal with disagreements very maturely and discuss things through in terms of their communication styles and things like that. I definitely enjoy this kind of story a lot more than super immature couples.

I do agree with some of the reviewers that ML exhibits autistic tendencies. But on the other hand, the ML also exhibits signs of the opposite: being very savvy in interpersonal relationships, which becomes very obvious only after he starts caring more about the MC. So I think it's good thing that the author didn't call it out and make a big deal out of it, it gives the relationship more layers and the characters more complexity. The pacing was done well and the translation was pretty enjoyable as well! <<less

Couldn't keep my smile off my face the whole time reading this, I love both the main characters, especially the ML. If you're thinking of reading this then please do so. It's not dull at all and it has a predictable yet still good plot. Every chapter have something sweet in it and the fact that it's their first love for each other is just unbearably adorable.
