I'd say it's more about how the MC and the girls get to know themselves through a lot of painful experiences. Kanade, Masamune, Subaru, etc., each one has some heavy experiences in their childhood and it's thanks to Jiro that they will overcome them. The ln itself is much more detailed, and some interactions are more emotive compared with the animated series. The one thing I like is how the author and editor structured the whole LN. It really manages well the cliffhangers each volume, and it doesn't get much verbose. It's a pleasant reading that will make you cheer up for everyone.
