Reincarnated as a Villain That was Killed Before the Game Starts

Apparently, I’ve been reincarnated as a villain in an otome game. That’s all well and good, but what do you mean I was killed by the love interest before the main story? On top of that, Hilda-san is the “shotacon” Queen and all I see are death flags!

It’s a story about a girl who was reincarnated as Hilda, the villain who caused the Hero of the otome game to become yandere due to the trauma cause by her.

A comedy story filled with nurturing shota and avoiding death routes!

This story is so messed up. I'm not joking.

Then again, what was I expecting when I saw the tag shotacon and yandere? To be honest, I sensed some red flags since the very beginning, but it turns out the more that I read it the more messed up it becomes. Even though the MC transmigrated as the villainess, her deeds were... very disturbing. Well, there ARE a couple things that made me feel quite disturbed while reading this novel.

Spoiler

The shotacon tag isn't there for nothing. Hilda, the previous villainess was a hardcore shotacon, to the point of picking up boys from red-light district and making them 'serve' her despite them being underage. First red flag.

Then, it got worse after discovering that she punished them with a whip. Second red flag.

After a few chapters, one of the boys who she sheltered became very infatuated with her to the point of stalking and cutting off his body part for her. Huge red flag.

We start learning more about the previous villainess' backstory and the probable reasons behind her actions as the story progresses. Still, there are mysteries to be solved in the upcoming chapters. I would love to see more character development from the characters, even though it might be hard since there are a lot of characters introduced from the beginning. Sometimes I even forgot some of the characters' name (or maybe I'm just bad with names... but who isn't?)

And if you're wondering, this novel does have an adult theme (even though not overboard... yet) so do keep this in mind while reading. If that's your cup of tea, then go ahead. I'm just trying to warn you. <<less

I like the premise. Shota-loving ojou-sama is replaced by a Japanese OL who wants to avoid being offed by one of her 13 victims. Not too much development, but so far, she is attempting to educate and organize the children in order to remove their grudges. Keep up the good work Translator.

Please give this series a chance!!

It's a very good story! Though I don't like the author's title selection.

If you like the adventure type of novel before isekai'd theme novel were booming, then you'll love this! The amount of angst, fluff, and comedy is good! Nothing is too much or too less!

The heroine and other character is also not your typical shoujo novel heroine that frail, naive, and has a little development character, they grow along the story. But this novel also not that novel that screams "GIRL POWER!!" Into your... more>> face.

The story build up is not to fast and not too slow, but because I read this MTLed, it became a bit confusing. Can't wait for the english translation to catch up!

I'll give this novel, 4.3/5

Spoiler

she will end up with one guy and the story is revolved around those two, but other character is still heavily involved. I'm a bit disappointed because there's no story about there children.

Though the whole shotacon-yandere business still thrown into the mix from time to time, the overall story is, in actuality, cute... our MC and Ichtys are pretty much the most sane amongst the majority of the cast and, ngl, they're so cute together.

Hoping that Elliot will stay as cute bby in the future?

EDIT:

Does anyone know what happened to the translations? I just realized that this hasn't been updated in a while only to find out that it's gone... :" ((

I accidentally found this novel and I didn't expect to fall in love with it... So I decided to write my first review.

This book is amazing. One of best otome/isekai novel I ever read! Overall the story is cute and fluffy (for me at least). I like how the author slowly answers the mystery sorrounding FL.

The character development is also good. It's very rare and refreshing to see a harem that is full of shotas instead of I don't know grown up men (?) lowkey a shotacon

And I... more>> also like how dense the FL. It gets a little annoying sometimes but I find it quite cute and funny.

Well translated and easy to read is also a plus. Keep up the good work!

A solid 5 ✩ for me (^ㅅ^) <<less

There's a lot of questionable stuff in this novel, but it all happened in the past. The actual story is about the main character trying to help people and undo the wrongs of the original Hilda. There are a lot of really cute and fluffy moments, and the parts with the dragon and Meiko are especially cute. Also, in the background there's a really interesting plot that makes you curious about the original Hilda and just what exactly was happening in the otome game.

So basically pretty solid novel, nothing world-changing,... more>> but an enjoyable read. <<less

I say give this novel a chance. The beginning to be honest was indeed confusing (I nearly gave up but my Shotacon heart made me continue). BUT the start of the second arc got me hyped. The story gets more interesting and more dept as it becomes apparent that Hilda is not as evil as we think she is and she is secretly awesome. The heroine might seem weak and naive but as I see it, her character will develop with the story.

Also besides the initial chapters... Translator-sama is... more>> doing a very great job~ So please do read and encourage her~ <<less

I'm interested with the story. But the impression of the Main Character is really weak... the typical meek heroine in a shoujo genre. And it might be too early but I alrdy give up on her. My only reason to stay is only curiousity toward the boys.

I've read a few villainess stories before and this ones main difference is that it's about our reincarnated OL trying to right the wrongs the previous body owner had done. This includes : being a hardcore shotacon (emphasis on hardcore), basically Destiny Bonding a dragon's life, and excessive spending. I'm looking forward to how the story develops, quite honestly I really like the protagonist. She is trying to change her fate of dying from her own servants which I think is funny a dynamic.
