The initial twist for the story is basically the title which is lazy but the unique aspect is the fact that unlike literally every other novel in this genre the supposed staple character traits are not at all broken. There is a reasonable justification for the politics at play with the former party members to the point majority of the comments under chapters were actually mostly unsure for which side to like lol. I won't go into specifics but the Novel delves very heavily into the mindset of the realist "hero" and unrealistic one.
The story doesn't shy away from making the MC go through true insurmountable odds in trying to achieve his goals and also give good reasoning for the realist heroes ways.
All of this stacked, with well written characters and an interesting setting is what makes it such a well done novel.
The scope of the novel increases exponentially and it takes a really long time for author to really make use of the everything he sets up in the earlier parts of the novel but nonetheless its amazing. But I'll outline the few negatives that come from this story;
- While the translation is great I have noticed some pretty inconsistent quality in the writing itself within this story. Some scenes are described amazingly well, and amazing dialogue I wouldn't expect from a web novel while a few feel like rushed descriptions put without much care. It's a stingy complaint but worth pointing out nonetheless.
- Pacing is good but a lot of the main motifs regarding what sort of story this is happen quite late? I think this is fine but a lot of people here came in for the unga bunga part this genre is known for leading to disappointment while the title itself pushes away the people who would like this story
Saw a few complaints in reviews and decided I would respond as well;- I looked at reviews and I noticed some people making complains regarding the little romance in the story as self insert harem garbage or the fact that fights simply felt underwhelming. I personally thought the fights were more descriptive and had considerably more sound than majority of Korean novels I've read so far while on the other had the romance barely existed to interfere with the the main story but rather was put in correctly? I would implore anyone who reads my review to give the series their own try because these are the type of readers who only desire a specific type of power fantasy novel that the author sadly appealed to when marketing this work.
Either way to finish it all off go read it pls.It also isn't some sort of, "I have future knowledge and use this to be stronger and tricky and avoid the issues" which is a big plus nowadays.
Most stories can maintain a decent world of differing people this long, so the rest will have to maintain this going forward.
