I was looking for an actor MC novel and finally gave this one a try. I had fun reading the different kinds of works the MC took on :)) and read up to chapter 185. No romance until the very end. There are a few questions I have (which happens for every novel, but I just read this one so I can at least remember atm). I don’t really understand the MC’s first life, or why he was given a second chance. I get he worked hard as an actor, and can understand his reason for avoiding his past of poverty, but I don’t understand how he could become so social and nice after his regression I guess. Maybe it’s out of guilt. 

Similar to other novels in this genre, other characters wonder “How does he know that?” and it’s brushed off by him being a genius. It’s not a bad thing, it just happens pretty often. Overall I did enjoy this novel :) <<less

I enjoyed the unique point where people between 15-29 enter another world the first of every month, that there’s only 20 floors and each floor that’s passed, half of the players die. I thought this was pretty different from the usual ‘climbing-the-tower’ type of novel. Even though Necromancer is a pretty common class in these novels, I think the Reaper class was pretty fun to read about (:

There are really only two issues I had while reading pretty far into the novel. The main one was how everything works out for MC, or his belief that everything will turn out the same for the future no matter what he does. I understand he’s already gone through everything 99 times and it makes sense that he knows everything, but even small deviances in his actions (or others’ actions) could impact the future. The novel mentions often how different his reactions are compared to others, or how his actions come of illogical to normal thinking since he knows what will happen if he does X instead of Y.

The other one I thought about while reading is that I wish he paid more attention to his brother :( I did find it a little annoying at first, but I’m starting to miss their interactions…

Definitely a fun regression actor slice of life novel. Interesting that most of the time is actually spent in America instead of South Korea, so some things that happen differ from the usual (staying in a trailer instead of a hotel, not doing blessings before filming, discussions about guns, differences between the states, etc). A little surprised the author included COVID-19 into their work, but it does make it more relatable.

Since I’m a little spoiled, my main complaint is that some roles the MC took on aren’t as fleshed out as his other roles. I really enjoyed the progression of the character Noah he played, and I guess the second would be Lou. Might be asking author for too much to add as much detail to the other roles he’s played, but I just felt they’re a little flat compared to those two. <<less

I like the fact that MC is getting character development as the story goes on, and he is willing to realize that his past actions were wrong. I’m glad he saved Jiwoo’s life in his previous life, and can understand his feelings of betrayal, disappointment and resentment since they aren’t genuinely aimed at anyone but himself. The part I didn’t understand is that singing and dancing seem to be things you can’t overcome with practicing in this story? Also wish MC would tell Jiwoo that he aims to be more like him in this life.

Ngl, it took me a while to read this novel because I thought it was going to be a romance, but it isn’t. I’m enjoying the buildup of things the MC acts in (starting from a class performance to plays, to an art film, then to a drama). It’s been really fun so far. I also appreciate the effort he puts in to understanding the script as a whole and not just his own role (I really liked the fact he learned ballet himself instead of researching or relying solely on a stand-in).

Even though the fox has been very helpful to the MC in the novel so far, it gives me a similar feeling to Jang Ilso from Return to Mount Hua. Not saying the fox is a villain or is crazy, but makes me feel uneasy even when they’re nice. Maybe it’s because I can’t really understand the fox’s motive. You can guess that he craves to act and wants to become human, but does he want the MC’s body? What exactly is the fox getting in exchange for what he’s giving? I just feel uncomfortable about it even when it’s not mentioned as much in the story anymore. I just hope it can get a separate human body and not the MC’s, even though I’m pretty sure thats what the fox is after (control over MC’s body). <<less

Tbh, I was really enjoying this story so far until this chapter. I thought the MC not being the original one who causes the regression, but the person who remembers every regression unintentionally was a pretty novel concept. I also enjoyed MC being cunning in his own ways while dealing with the system and those around them.

However, I dislike that the authority had been tampered with in the story. It’s interesting that MC is able to scam the system, so why is someone interfering with it? Intentionally making someone else ill, forcing MC on a path he could’ve found with someone else’s advice, and acting all haughty while tampering with him timeline? Go mess with the original protagonist, why is this mysterious jack*ss appearing out of nowhere?? Does he just was the og protag. to regress? Or does he want our MC to suffer and stop messing with the system?

Pretty sure it’s because I enjoy reading novels where everything goes the MC’s way and usually avoid tragedy tags, but I find it more annoying when random obstacles appear in the novel for (what feels like) no reason, or something the MC can’t really solve. Either way, it’s a pretty good novel so far and would suggest giving it a try. <<less

~Definitely should be rated around 4 stars. I don’t think I’ve ever read a choreography/ dancer novel before, but I’m glad I stuck around and read as far into this one as I did. I also appreciate the author making clear differences between the jobs of choreographers and dancers, and describing the choreo in a way that’s not boring.

~ There’s a lot of female idols in this novel. Maybe it has to do with MC starting off his new life choreographing for Purple Link, and then being part of a show for Pro One? He seems to mainly work with female idol groups, but he does also work with some male idols. 

~Even though I jumped in not expecting much (due to ratings and no reviews), I started raising them without realizing it since I enjoy the topic of dancing and dance competitions, and the novel was entertaining without me realizing it. I hope I can find another dancer or choreographer novel similar to this one. Even though it’s been mentioned a few times throughout the novel, I thought it would be nice if MC held dance lessons/ classes for other people.

~I also appreciate the different genres of dance being mentioned in the novel (voguing, waacking, krump, breaking, etc.), but I wish more were used or explained in the novel. I get it’s more of a choreography novel than a dancing one, but it would be fun to read about other styles <<less
