it's kinda sad he became a demon all because he regrets killing his disciple (figurative son) for his religion. I mean to be honest it's not that crazy he couldn't believe the MC wasn't possessed bc there wasn't ever a case like the MC's before since it involves outsider demons. It is bad that he killed the MC before he could try to prove himself or explain but tbh it would be crazy for the master to just believe the MC just because he said so although I guess thee MC had become an immortal at that point so by their standards an immortal should not have become a demon. Still. I don't think it's crazy that the master killed him since no one could know he was lying unless he wanted to cut his bone / cultivation to prove himself as not possessed which idk if that's just as bad as death?

I feel like the master's only bad trait is being a controlling toxic dad. Which is bad but it comes from a place of at least half love and not evil.

So the fact he became a demon bc he wishes he could have not killed the MC despite being what he thinks is a demon bc ultimately he loves (I think platonically) his disciple as a son is pretty sad.

Hmm idk I can't tell if they're trying to allude to the fact the master might have fallen in love (romantically) w the MC.... And that kinda ruins it for me. If so. I can't tell though rn.
