Actually planned to give this a 3 but I misclicked. It's really interesting if you look at how the kingdom-building progresses. But the other aspects...

The MC is, like the other reviews say, too omnipotent. The way he was built also makes him kind of uninteresting as a character. Most of the characters also have some weird vibe about them. Well, on the other hand, there are interesting characters and interactions as well.

The one thing that really irked me was the pretentious foreshadowing of the author, which can be quite exciting... more>> if used correctly. But the style was overused too much which made the writing style too chuunibyou-ish. Also, the author intentionally goes around storytelling about various characters. This in itself can work well since it gives the readers insight on the motivations of the characters, but this is also done too much. For example, the author gives a quite lengthy background story on a random farmer and why he is mad that his daughter and wife are gonna be sold as slaves. I mean, really?

Anyway, the story is really interesting, give it a go if you like kingdom building novels. <<less

This novel is not for everyone and it's hard to recommend so I will just list some pros and cons and you can decide what to do with them.

Starting with the pros

This is one of the few novels that takes a realistic approach to the kingdom building aspect, while other authors will just write half a dozen chapters about crop rotation and how the MC will teach farmers how to farm, this one actually did his homework and the MC put on an effort to build and nurture his domain,... more>> the diplomatic relations and political conflict are well written to the point where it seems that it's a middle ages history book that got hit with an isekai narrative.

The world building is great even though we're not that deep in the story yet and the writing style is very decent, the story so far is good since the novel is more reliant on it than the characters.

Now the cons

in what world would a 16 years old japanese high schooler would kill six armed knights and a court magician only seconds after being summoned? If he was soldier or something along those lines I would have believed that he would have some chance at it.

But you know what? That's fine there's 7 billion people on this planet who can say for sure that a high schooler like that doesn't exist and would with some luck pull off such a feat, but when you add that he's a genius at politics warfare country management trading and diplomatic relations enough to make all other characters including monarchs ministers and generals stand in awe of his competence at them that's a bit much for a 16 year old, the worst part is how much the author praise and try to make the MC a perfect existent that the whole world revolves around and the other characters only exist to praise him if they are allies and to fall in despair if they are enemies

Although I like the writing style but sometimes it seems that the author thinks that his readers are sub 90 IQ teenagers so he has to over explain everything in a simple way and turn the novel into a politics for dummies book to make them understand it and he doesn't seem to be able to write a decent fight to save his life, don't get me wrong the political part is really well written it's just that explaining the sh*t out of it even if it's simple is annoying.

One of the biggest problems that the novel has is the lack of a decent characterization, most of the main characters are bland and uninteresting that includes the MC too no matter how much the author tries to make a gary stu out of him he still has the japanese mc's usual blandness. However, the manga did improve that part about him so I hope the WN take the same approach in the future.

Lastly plot convenience, the first example I can think of is when he conveniently found 2 slave girls who are conveniently beautiful and conveniently know a magic that enables them to change masters whenever they liked, I know the plot have to move forward somehow but doing it for something unnecessary such as getting slave girls for the sake of wish-fulfillment is not OK.

Since the MC have high modern morals he decides to set them free but guess what? They beg him to let them be his slaves and serve him out of gratitude so the MC ''reluctantly" except their offer, seriously if you want your MC to have slave harem that's fine but stop beating around the bush and just make him buy them at least it's better than the bullsh*t excuse for having slaves because they want to be his slaves. <<less

I guess... not bad? It had a non-cliche start, at least. But the MC is still very generic - a nice, polite guy that doesn't want to see others die and the usual stuff on JP MCs. The only thing different is that he's a bit more aggressive with fighting and he actually looks jacked as sh*t compared to those skinny ass white bois, but I don't really see any character development on the tables regarding him being a kind, generous fellow. He kinda bores me, so it's not my... more>> type of novel.

The harem girls seem kinda boring as well, they're not tsunderes at least so that's good, but... I don't really see any difference in their personalities... <<less

Novel is good, but all the politics baffle me a bit. Politics and reading people is one thing you need a lot of practice and ability to gain information from wide variety of things. And MC was all about not being bound to anything in start and although he is smart, he is still really young. And it didn't seem like he was someone who was used to leading scheming etc etc. Or did something that entails things like that in his former world.

So my conclusion is while its ok... more>> read, the story doesn't really match with how MC was portrayed. At one point he was roaming the world, and pretty much without any explanation he just goes straight to politics. And as there isn't really much/any character development or even even rise in strength it get bit boring. There is initial explanation about how people get stronger killing stuff, but there is literally no mention about MC getting power from killing stuff after that.

Falls down to a typical Japanese slice of life = boring writing style. Pretty much no emotions like excitement or whatever can be felt reading this. Its more like list of things he does. <<less

Let's left the rate for now as I still dont know how many star I should give this.

Okay first the story is interesting, enough for me to stick for a while.

But the thing that I feel so tired is redundancy in the way author tell the story. It quite fast pace but once it go to detail it always give too much detail and also most of it is something you know already and dont need to know (like 1 + 1 = 2, if you burn a house it... more>> will return to ash,....). So it prolong the story just to building the world then dont use it, a really waste of brain cell to process those.

When the story come to slow information spread it will got this pattern (slow spread information >>Bcuz long distance >>> Bcuz there is no modern radio >>> Bcuz it is medival time >>> So there is abc >>> Then xyz)

And the author dont just once but will constantly remind you about that useless detail for the entire of story. <<less

Surprisingly this one got decent start. MC that not half-ass, get thing done without some strange plot like "wow this one enemy look dangerous but he/she will surely come to my side if I talk to him" and try to get information from some if "he can get it" not always get it trought plot story. But this one isekai world people is too much. They are all really dumb. This make me want to drop it. Maybe I will put it on hold for now.

if you dont really care... more>> about other character other than MC then this one good enough for you to read it (this is my reason to not give 1 star). <<less

It's a good novel to read at first, My first impression was good and I somewhat enjoy reading it until the author inserted the political nonsense thing. It was thrown with endless POV of random characters about politics and war and I feel like I somehow lost the original taste of the story.

I use to look forward to the translation but I have yet to see any improvement in the story that well somewhat distance it from political B*llsh*t theme. War is good in a story but to much political... more>> nonsense is annoying.

All the character MC meet became background characters, even supporting characters would have been nice but the author seems love to troll and just hide them behind the shadow while they appear in some chapters with very few lines in them.

In other words the Political Bullsh*ting nonsense destroyed this novel.

I gave it 3 stars since like I said I did love reading this novel at first until

The MC obtain his own land from the Queen he save this was the start where the story became boring and was trash with to much political nonsense.

The MC is seems to pursue all personalities to the extreme. Sometimes calm and other times calculating? Sure. Sometimes depressed and sometimes furious to the extreme? Yes. His personality is all over the place! It's a pain in the ass to think you understand someone, only to see him redirect his rage to someone telling it straight. So... I find this mediocre... The MC is a chameleon no matter how I see it, and his emotions are dyed by the situation. This problem irritates me to the extreme. And if... more>> this personality is intended for the MC, then I can only say this is not for me <<less

Start of this novel shows promise but the author tends to lose his way a little but about half way through the translated chapters but it then start's to pick up and it's clear that the story is starting to actually go somewhere.

The side characters are ok and if im honest not alot of though went into them although there are some gems Elena for one which you meet later in the story.

In conclusion if you want to read a novel which has got a interesting story and... more>> semi-ok MC this story is for you!! <<less

This novel is probably the best kingdom building type novel on this site. It has many cliches such as the almost omnipotent ruthless protagonist, but the whole genre really wouldn't work if you don't have that type of protagonist or you would have a totally different type of series. A lone person with modern sensibilities transported to a hostile world of conniving, genocidal, rapist nobles? 99.99% of people would probably be enslaved, so the near omnipotent protagonist works here.

It helps that it becomes central theme. It doesn't become a... more>> constant "nani!?" moments of surprised villains overpowered by the op hero seen the typical Japanese novel. Everyone including his allies are suspicious and fearful of him b/c of those exact qualities and that becomes a central factor in how the plot evolves.

This reads more of those Chinese Three Kindgoms type novel with opposing fraction and nobles, without outrageous excesses of super powers, outrageous harems and near instant infallible decision making typically found in Chinese novels. The main character in those novel is more of a slow burner, he plays 4d chess while everyone else is playing checkers. He plans and plans putting pieces on the board, and while he does have a bit of plot armor, his actions for the most part aren't outside the realm of believability. <<less
