A really simple short story. Not much to say about it but their relationship was mostly based off of s*x. To be clear, it’s not really smut, mostly the passage just describes that they had s*x but not in any explicit way. The plot is quite good with the FL being a secret constable but it could have developed further. However, since it’s just a short romance story that’s meant to be cute, there’s not much plot or storyline. The pain of reading smart beautiful MC with understanding ml... MC is so good, ML is whack.

Uncomplicated plot, I liked it so much before ML discovered it was MC because she's unrestrained. Then when they officially got together, ML got so eh

Its a fun and cute read. I just love MC's personality, very intelligent and fascinatingly has a good balance of cool headedness and emotionally passionate. I especially liked how she truly loved him but she knew where she stands and what her priorities/duties are as a woman who lived in her time, but, when the opportunity appeared she shamelessly grabbed that chance lol.

5/5 A relatively short but really enjoyable story of FL who is (secretly) skilled in martial arts and is the prince's concubine. She likes ML (prince) but is resigned to her fate of not being able to be together with him other than in name. In fact, she made use of her status as a forgotten concubine to sneak out when she wants, and enjoy life when she's back. But since she likes her prince, she still protected him. She's cheeky but not exactly shameless, and just the right amount... more>> of playful and indulgent towards ML while still remaining independent. I came for some smu-smu (which barely existed) and ended up with a cheeky and fun novel. The second best novel of the series. (The 4th book i.e the last one was the best) <<less

This was a fun read. I really like the MC. She is funny, witty, and cheeky. The ML is very lucky to have married her. I like how it shows the women's strength in a different light, not like the typical badass, but more of a motherly and caring type, which goes well with the historical setting. I am not a fan of the way the ML treats the MC, but I like how the MC outsmart him regardless. She always finds an opportunity to get what she wants, which... more>> I find very refreshing. I like characters that can adapt to their environment and get the best of it, which she does. Overall, I had a great laugh reading it. I especially like the MC relationship with her maids, doctor, and the other sisters. <<less

I'm halfway through the novel atm and I have to say I'm not really fond of the ML. The MC is smart and reasonable, she doesn't seem like the type to be overly blinded by love to the point she would die.

For me this novel is just so-so. I mean, it is nice, but I've read other novels where I found the characters far more enticing (and by that I'm mostly targeting the ML). I actually wouldn't mind if a 2nd ML popped up, treated the MC nicer (as they always do) and I'd probably be happy to have the two get away.

The ML is not super bad. He's just not to my liking. Part of the reason why I don't find him so likeable is because of his self-entitlement and maybe because I would have liked him to have a harder time chasing the MC?

For example, when he put the MC under house arrest after discovering she was Shui'er... I can't explain exactly what it was but I felt sort of unpleasant + I really would have loved for the MC to knock him down a few notches

Overall this is just me having some disappointed expectations + personal preference -my personal opinion. I'm not likely to rate it higher but if you want to read it and got discouraged because of comments about the ML, do give it a try! I'm still giving it 4 stars and it is good enough -at least far better than some other novels.

Very easy to read. A light novel to enjoy after reading a very long complicated novel. At first, I was only here for the smuts because of the tag but I was deceived! But I enjoyed the novel nonetheless.

This novel is really a short and light read. There’s no schemings and other types of complications common on historical novels. I’m not really a fan of MLs with harems but it’s understandable given the setting of the story. However, the ML’s character here is still not appealing to me. He’s bit overbearing and is likely to resort to using force. His way of pampering the FL felt more like it was driven by lust. It seems that he was just amused by the FL’s wit and intelligence.

The FL is... more>> way better. She is strong, smart and realistic. She’s really the chill type of person but knows her ways in dealing with people, whether it’s a soft or hard approach. What I don’t appreciate much is that it was already established from the onset that the FL was in love with the ML even before they were married. I wished an elaborate background story was explained on how it came about or that there was a special event that led to this, because if she was only admiring him from afar all those times without even interacting with him, it’s really difficult to establish that this made her fall for him.

Thus, this made it seem that the feelings between the protagonists are only on a superficial level. I would have preferred if there was a deeper level of bond in their mind and soul. Also, I think the ending was quite abrupt. It would have been great if their life after the case was solved was elaborated, and the development of their relationship was delved more thoroughly. All in all, the novel is not very memorable for me. <<less

Such a fun read. It’s really awesome. Both leads are smart and scheming in their own ways. I had to applaud the MC she knew how to read the ML from the start and did not fall for his sweet honey words but when she understood that he really means it, she strive to work hard on the steps he wanted her to take. It’s really sweet.

In the future, no matter how many more beauties would be added to the rear courtyard of the royal mansion, all she needs to do is to focus on Si Liujing by giving him what he wants, make him love her so much that he is unable to let her go and become an irreplaceable woman.

She does not know how long his doting love can last. She only knows that she should grasp every moment to get along with him while he still cherishes her. As long as every step she takes is steady, why should she fear she will not be as stable as the mountain in the future?

She really knows how to read him. But kudos to the ML because in this novel (although we all know how unrealistic it is deep down in the true ancient times) he really stayed true to her even though he had other concubines. <<less

Good story with realistic cunning mc! Love the book 1 and book 2. Hope translator can continue the series! And the translator has many footnotes and explanation to some of the history or words, it’s really awesome knowledge. Tq for your hardwork. Highly recommend read.

holy crap. my gosh I'm still thinking about this novel after weEKS!!)

Almost very single part of this is immaculately delicious~ definitely 5 stars

First of all, the pacing was great and the amount of chapters, though short, are mighty and very satisfying.

Okay I'm not gonna spoil, but our MC is so f!cking awesome, disregarding (old-fashioned) social norms. She's so strong I love her. The ML is awesome too, so strong and possessive and a lil' cold~ He does get some character development, but I wish there were some more feminist-y... more>> development bc (spoiler spoiler. bit*h do not read further bc this'll spoil it all bish stawp come back if ur so desperate)

Short, fun and I truly enjoyed this. The FL and ML were great manipulators lol.

The last part was just an open-ended for the other sequels tho... so FL's secrets still remained as hidden even to ML.

Neither of the leads disgusted me with low IQ, low EQ or OP abilities.

They use their resources, do their best, make mistakes & fix them together, talk things out, know when to give in and when to stand their ground and ultimately get their happy end.

I really enjoyed the FL's personality - very rational, cute, and cool. This story is short but a good length.

The interactions between the FL and ML were quite enjoyable - the story being short means nothing was dragged out unnecessarily. It's always nice to see a couple that can stand side-by-side, especially in terms of ability in addition to their love for each other.

Amazing read! They are so in love with each other. The ML was also really sweet and attentive to our MC. She's smart and she knows how to "respond" to the ML. I love the steamy bits as well hehe jk.

TOTALLY RECOMMENDED NOVEL!!!! The story is awesome and well made. It made me want to look forward for the other series. Though I wish the author wrote the steamy scenes in a more detailed manner. Haha just kidding! Anyway the translation of this novel is superb! A BIG THANKS FOR THE TRANSLATORS! YOU GUYS ARE AWESOME!
