The most impressive thing that the timid and cowardly Wen ZhiChu has done in his entire life was rescuing two grade schoolers who had ignored the red light and crossed the streets recklessly. As for the result of his one-time bravery, he also sent himself off.

When he woke up again, he discovered that he had transmigrated into a book as a cannon fodder villain who keeps hopping back and forth on the edge of a minefield— ultimately, receiving the ending of sleeping on the streets for offending the protagonist.

Once Qin JiaShu was buying a sports drink at the store, sure enough, that annoying pest followed over as well. Not surprisingly, that annoying pest snatched away the item that Qin JiaShu wanted to buy in advance and even opened it to take a drink right in front of him.

Qin JiaShu stopped him. Right before they thought he’d teach that annoying as*hole a lesson, Qin JiaShu actually grabbed the already opened sports drink from Wen ZhiChu’s hand, tossed his head back, and started drinking it.

Our MC is such an idiot that you just love him. The MC and System duo is hilarious 😂. The ML seemed like one dimensional typical cold ML in the beginning but the parts written in his POV really made me like him.

This whole novel is very lighthearted and full of comedy. Each conversation is so funny. I love the antics everyone gets into. 5/5 recommend if you want to laugh.

Yes MC is a coward due/, * take note of his past struggle/life despite that like what the systems says, MC sticks to his principle and he even have brave moments throughout the novel.

Ml, ML also have his struggles growing up, hey he got beaten /traumatized during his childhood WITHOUT the support of his parents. You guys thinks it's easy?? NO, I was even thinking on how our MC gonna melt ML. MC doesnot disappoint, one way or another he's there to cheer up/ disturb ML during his dark times. ML also very patient, despite being Cold (his true self) he does not want his love to distract MC on his way improving his grades. ML did shows his care and love to MC and helps MC to slowly be familiar with his affections.

MC also knows despite knowing mL's darkside that ML IS a kind man especially to him-MC, He appreciates the things ML did to him and slowly fell inlove and wants to be equal with Ml. He persevered on his studies, even faced ml's fam hahaha (just read the novel)

From being shy/stutterer/ to having /building confidence towards himself, ML definitely a part of it and the system hahaha so yeah good novel for tranmisgration// frenemies to couple//student life

Well, their personalities are interesting.

MC is a carefree sunshine who became a timid stutterer after his parents died and he was bullied while being passed from one relative to another. On one hand, he has negative courage, on the other - he still speaks his mind and doesn't take an easy way out. it's funny and I love MC is timid but has some bravery hidden inside him. It's actually 3.5 stars, as the story build up is too long, the romance is given too little part. And the ML attraction seems not reasonable enough. But it's cute and funny humor tho round up to 4

Wen ZhiChu (MC) is a girl failure and I am flourishing because of it. I don't like when character inexplicably stutter, but ChuChu's condition isn't debilitating or excessively scorned; ChuChu gets a part-time, hustles on the side, buys his own groceries and pursues an education. He is silly but also nuanced character, his stuttering has never been a shoo-in for a convenient excuse.

Qin JiaShu (ML) is cold, fake, deep seated in childhood trauma and deliciously about to have his fake persona collapse. The romance takes time to realize and watching... more>> him fall while ChuChu is none the wiser is entertaining.

    • This romance is only possible because the premise matters: Qin hates og!Wen ZhiChu, so Qin doesn't hold any pretenses around him.
    • ChuChu's has agency: ChuChu maybe coerced to interact with Qin, but still abides by his morals.
    • The system drives the plot but is a meaningful existence for ChuChu. Tmiao is his confidant and friend.
In conclusion: a**hole Qin can only be paired with the silly scuttle bug, ChuChu.

    • Plus, you can disassociate from the second-hand embarrassment because ChuChu describes it perfectly.
    • And the author is humorous and linguistically witty. A funny incident can occur and payoff's in four, or within the same chapter and giving the audience a sense of intimacy with the supporting characters.

Everything about this should have been Catnip for me. Most of the tags were something I would go for, and I'm a big fan of CG's translations and their translators.

I checked the reviews first, so I started reading while mitigating my expectations. And I kept reading. And reading. And waiting for things to get good.

And it came to the point where I had to pause and check what chapter was I already in because it felt like I was taking a Hella long time reading a few chapters where barely... more>> any development was happening. I kept hoping things would start picking up soon, and that I had already passed my 10chapter-DNF rule, might as well continue.

Until I checked and found out I was almost halfway. And I really can't be bothered to finish. All that's stuck out to me:

1. This story really took the Slice of Life aspect and ran with it.

2. ML's parents suck. One of the positive reviews touched upon how at least not everything is forgiven just because of family. And I really hope that is the case and ML just cuts off his parents because they were never really parents besides being his patrons. But I didn't think it was worth sticking around and finishing the story to find out sith how dragged on things have been.

3. 80% of the book so far as I've read has been entirely MC's interaction with the System. And while it was funny at times, and intending to be the main source of comedy, I kept wishing for more development between the characters. For duck's sake, the implied side couple got more action in the first few chapters than whatever delusion is between MC and ML.

4. The pacing sucks. WHAT THE HELL. ALMOST HALFWAY AND THE ML IS BARELY LIKEABLE. Besides being rich, handsome with good grades, what else is there about him??? He's a massive as**ole to MC until the point where I stopped and gave up. I can't. Ugh.

The MC was reborn into a villain... there's a system giving him mission.. although the mission was said to aggregate the protagonist.. it became wrong when it came to the MC.. MC is a stutterer, everytime he stutter the ML only see him as being coquettish, MC transform from the last place to being a good student getting into good college with the help of ml.. the ML is an as*hole with a thick mask.. everyone see him as a good person even his family.. the only one who knew his true self is his childhood friend and MC.. the ML fell first.. so he seduce the MC slowly into becoming a boiling frog.. the get together and live happily ever after

I enjoyed it. The humor definitely was worth the 5 stars.

Substance-wise, it wasn't as fulfilling as the author's other novel with the same premise (Don't Try To Corrupt Me).

If there's one thing I would dock a star for, it's the concept of s*x as punishing, rather than something both parties willingly enjoy. I don't know why it's such a common trope in these webnovels. It's not as severe in here as in others, but it's definitely there and it kinda ruined the vibes for me whenever it happened.

Ch77 (total chapters are 96 - not sure if I’m gonna read the rest tho, cuz I don’t like the ML development)
THIS!!! Made me giggle-gaggle the whole night.
This is true comedy, I died multiple times and just couldn’t stop reading it
But eventually when it finally came to the romance,... idk it feels too childish for me
Its a light read with sh*t ton of golden moments I can’t forget
Like the comedy in this is GOLD !!!!
I loved the MC, he’s just so,... Unpredictable also super relatable in a way
But the ML character per development is strange, I like how just domineering and kinda scary, like the whole dynamic but suddenly he just, ,... became weird also I feel like the angst of his family dynamic is or jus hasn’t been cleared
I hate the MLs family mainly his dad, for just the peer pressure and the diff in treatment of the brothers, just because you gave birth to another child that is younger, doesn’t mean that your other child is suddenly a grown up that you don’t need to care about anymore.
But yeah suddenly the white lotus books for the ML,... not into it
The author build me a hot daddy bad boy, domineering daddy in my brain but suddenly he’s a loser and just a fool out of nowhere

But at the end of the day I gotta say this was a comedy treasure and relief that I really needed, its a gem.

To the point I’m gonna hunt dow other authors work now

Our MC is really an angel, he's shy, I wouldn't call him a coward, money grubber. But he's always kind, follow his own guidelines and do what he think hes right. I love him to bits, he's just the sweetest and I feel really bad for what he had to go through losing his parents and has no good relatives.

Well ML was peace of **** for a long time but he did redeem himself in the latter half. I guess I do like his teasing personality and him giving MC... more>> a place of warmth. ML just parents who had little time for him, so he abit distorted in his personality. But MC can worm his way hin his heart with his frankness and sincerity

System little cat I love it alot too, he was great partner to MC and these missions really help build the relationship between MC and ML, villain system not really! It's conversations with MC is really hilarious and fun watching them banter with each other haha.

The students here are really kind in general after MC getting to know them, that was really nice.

I guess the highlight was really the comedy with MC straightforwardness, he outright says what he thinks and the truth, also other characters outright lay it on each other with truth bombs, which is really funny to the audience, awkward and embarrassing for characters but good for us it's so funny reading the conversations and banters.

Alot of the time is focus on MC studying English and alot of comedy came out of it when he have conversations with his teachers and peers about improving his grade and other funny scenarios.

This is a highly recommended to read, funny and relaxing, also the progression with the missions is like following a trail which is interesting to read. <<less

It was a very fun read!

MC's a very timid baby (which I usually avoid in novels) but gets courageous at times because he's compelled to - otherwise he would be penniless. His brain circuit is something else lmao.

I didn't like ML at first but he grew on me 🥹.

I appreciate how author didn't do the usual 'forgive everything despite the trauma, pain, and disappointment' trope in his relationship with the parents. Sometimes it can't just be forced, you know? I'm just hoping for a better future for both him and MC moving forward 🥹

On another note, out of all the characters aside from the protagonist, I loved the system the most (ML's the second and the roundworm dean is my third lol). MC-system duo was so chaotic that I'm pretty sure they would be even more so if system was a human.

Character development for MC and ML is just right and didn't feel forced. I was actually expecting more chapters but when I think about it, the absence of fillers made the novel just right - highlighting their development as a person more.

I love this!!! Usually I don't like timid and weak protagonist. But this one... I like him because behind his timidity, he's surprisingly brave so I don't feel frustrated by his character.

Very easy read, the ML is... He's a good person for the MC. They just fit well

This was such a fun read. Not only is it comedic and lighthearted, but I also really liked the development of the characters and their relationship. The ending made me a little teary because I didn't want to let the characters go... I got so fond of them.

Things I thought were kind of unique (compared to other BL webnovels) was that the MC and the system actually have a pretty good relationship. They became friends, like family, and their bickering is so fun to read. I also liked how the... more>> side characters weren't flat and annoying cannon fodder. They were at most exasperating, but that's because they're young. The female side characters aren't hateful either, which is oddly uncommon in BL webnovels. They don't play a big part, but I liked them all the same.

Reading MC's and ML's relationship progress was so satisfying. They really came a long way. I recommend!!

It is a Yaoi, Transmigration, School Life Romance. It is very funny and sweet.

... more>> MC is someone who lost his parents at a young age and was bullied in his real world. He is timid and stutters. He has a strange sense of humour which still makes you laugh. He is hard worker.

ML is 'the other people's child' who is good in everything. He pretends to be a good person but is an assh*le as a person. But he is a nice lover. Though he was quite cold and rude in the beginning, it changed after he started liking MC. As a Lover he supportive, gives some space, loves MC unconditionally, helps him in his studies. Though he is black-bellied, it isn't that much.

A special mention to Baby Xiao He. He is so cute.

This story is about MC completing his Villain Missions and getting involved with ML because of them, MC studying especially English, his interactions with ML, system and his classmates, him writing things for people in exchange for money even though it was told that he s**ked at Literature, etc.,

Though there was this thing that no one doubted or thought about MC's sudden change in personality and behavior and whoever thought about it just attributed it to death of original's parents. <<less

I really tried with this story..

If you're going to read this, just be prepared for an insane amount of secondhand embarrassment.

I get that the MC is supposed to appear weak and pathetic for the cuteness angle, but imagine for a second you're the ML. And the following guy goes out of his way to appear in front of you and bother you daily:

... more>> - he slouches so much he's a head shorter, and keeps his head down at all times.

- every time he looks at you he's either terrified and panicking, or he's got stars in his eyes and endless enthusiasm. Nothing else. - stammers non stop (and I realize that's an actual speach impediment, but here it's only used to appear cute and pathetic)

- the tag of dense is a severe understatement, he's just s*upid.

- anything can go wrong in his life, will go wrong in his life

I kept reading just to see what could possibly draw a person to the MC. Unfortunately I couldn't make it after a while and had to give up eventually.

Redeeming qualities to the novel are definitely the system and the interactions with it. And the rare moments of the MC showing some spine.

If the issues I mentioned don't bother you, you'll enjoy the novel and the humorous moments in it. <<less

The relationship between the MC and his system is probably my favourite part of the story.

The reason ice dropped the novel is because I'm not a big fan of the mc's personality. He's just a bit too cowardly for my tolerance in a novel, and the constant misunderstandings do make me cringe.

If you don't mind slow-and I mean slow-romance, and second hand embarrassment, then this novel is worth a try. <<less

I love that ML doesn't exist just to be the MC's love interest. He has his own personality and choices. He didn't change his mind just because the soul of the original body changed, it was a slow development. Far beyond love.

This is comedy, but the MC's problems were just torture masquerading as humor because he was so pitiful and just laughed as he was used to being jinxed and mistreated. It has a very cute ending, they evolved a lot with people, but I admit that I found the... more>> romance between them poorly written. I understand ML falling in love with MC, but MC falling in love was too sudden for me.

The MC despising himself and mitigating his own pain is pretty sad, because he laughs at his own suffering and jokes about it all the time. It is true that he has changed a lot, but the unnecessary jokes bothered me. I know that was the intention, maybe that's why it managed to affect me. When I should have been laughing, I was just feeling anguish.

It's a very quick read, but I don't know if I can say it's easy. I think it's worth reading for ML, because he has interesting motives, despite his personality. <<less

If you want to read this story, you should come with the right expectation. I read it because I expected to read about fluffy, cute romance with somewhat kind and innocent protagonist, tsundere on the outside but sweet in the inside ML, a few misunderstandings and some comedic parts.

This story do have all of that elements but only in very small quantity. There's romance but it isn't much and not the kind of fluffy, sweet romance that I expected to see. Instead, the story is surprisingly quite dark and touched... more>> some heavy issues like child abandonment and parent's favouritism. The writer did a pretty great job of conveying those issues. Alas, I was really disappointed.

I gave this three stars. Two stars for the story + MC/ML and one extra star for the system. Without the system, this story would not have any sense of comedy at all <<less
