Short and cute story. The MC is quite likeable and the ML is very hmm gentle and 'mature'. I like how they get along well even when they aren't officially tgt as well. Quite sweet but with a little bit of angst at the latter part of the story (but not too bad). Plot is rather predictable but still interesting I guess.

A fairly straightforward story, easy and light to read. Wen Yan is a fun character and it’s nice to see an MC chasing the ML instead of the other way around. There are 2 main moments of extreme emotion and I thought they were very well done. Good intentions don’t make up for the hurt you caused and both MC and ML learn this lesson in a very painful way.

Wholesome yet dramatic at the same time is the best way to describe this story.

It is a sweet romance with MC courting ML. Constantly trying to seducing the ML to fall to temptation.

Dramatic cause it feels like they try to patch up problems with the forget hammer. This story is not without the amnesia trope for sure.

ML is seriously injured and requires MC to be the sacrifice to heal. But he fell in love with MC so he tried to erase MC's memories of him after faking getting married together. So that he could die while MC continued to live happily without knowing anything.

But it doesn't work cause MC basically became OP after turning 18 years old. And proceeds to hunt ML's whereabouts down immediately.

Similarly, MC was ML's past lover and left only a letter behind before sacrificing himself for the world. Heaven forcefully sealed ML's memories and feeling to prevent ML from killing himself in his attempts to save his lover.

Side note: ML heals without any complications or problems.

It is a short story and the set up from the main antagonist sort of got tossed out the window and forgotten. You can almost say instead that they were their own biggest antagonist. It ends off with a lot of potential to make the story longer buried. But overall, I enjoyed the sweetness and warmth of the story. Slightly comedic and corny as well.

MC is kind of a scumbag though. He likes to appreciate beauties. Giving compliments all the time making ML eat vinegar a lot. On top of seducing ML to the mortal world and teaching him love, only to just die leaving only a letter behind.

Finally finished this awesome story~~~ definitely not boring!!!! From modern world [mc] to knowing more on demon side [ml] to more mysteries until you dwelve deeper to the story. MC is also Forward to his feelings and gives his best for ml. ML from being cold/reserve[ to others ] to giving MC some doting, lowering his bottom line again and again haha I like Mc's friendship to his best friends + Ml's butler. Many funny scenes on the novel. Never thought about that twist nearing the end though about their... more>> Identities ehe. There was heart wrenching moment when both MC and ML are thinking what's good for each other. MC never gives up his feelings to ML and was nice they have finally uncovered about that red string. H.E.!!! They deserved it after being away from so long from each other huhu. <<less

Wait this book is actually a fantastic love story. There was too much bs and clicheness for me in the first half, but.... the difference between a lot cliche and a good book utilizing cliches is what you do with them. And this book purposely had those cliches in order to reflect on what happened in the past MEANING there was a unique purpose for why the cliches were written that feel emotionally important. also it was clever writing to make the reader later feel like 'oh the world goes... more>> round " lol does that make sense?

I mean I did skim a bit in the first half bc the cliches are a lot, but I fully forgive it all now bc it was so well wrapped at the end AND I love howw the side characters are always important, helpful, have their own brain and actions. It was nice to see their interactions and opinions that helped the MC not do it all alone. Refreshing really.

I genuinely ask u to give it a chance up until the chapter the MC wakes up on his birthday. That. Chapter changed everything. Even if I saw it coming, it still was so nice to see how everything turned out. A solid modern day cultivation, deman romance novel. No loose ends and no explanation feels abrupt - it all felt properly set up beforehand and I got to have my "ooo that makes sense" moments bc of the good writing. Thank you.

It's crazy how many ppl are satisfied with novels if the MC is badass but there is no good foreshadowing or hints or setups for the things that happen / why the MC knows things in the novel - seriously. Thankfully, this book despite all the cliches and bs was good bc of the setup and writing skillzz imo. Unexpectedly <<less

Nice, cute and fluffy story. Finished it in one go. The only downside for me is the extra. Personally, I don’t like when extras discuss about their past. It has happened. It’s good to know but to make whole 7 chapters of that? Might as well write their future, for me.

otherwise, it’s a good read. I thought to ignore the extras and give 5 but then the ending feels bit incomplete somehow so yeah.

It was nothing like the title. But it was like the summary tell without the Mini theater.

Absolutely Good novel! Love the plot. Well written in the feelings and the drama.

Nothing heavy, but still made me Heartaches at some point.

Mostly it was really great. And all the characters are Great!

I'm ABSOLUTELY LOOOOOOOVING IT!!!

Short, sweet, funny and to the point. From meet and greet to getting married. There are a few plot holes and mistakes but nothing major. The humor more then makes up for it. Basically a 4.5 star story.

[On a slight side note. If I was this kid's parents, at the end of the scene where he meets the ML, which is a total crack up, I would be like "Don't look at us. We just brought this idiot here. Go ask his real parents."]

But the journey is so cute and... more>> fun (except for some brief dog's blood bits). There's no real big bad, just some rough patches in their relationship.

It's fun that this is a slice of life kinda story but managed to integrate the fantastical elements and actually use them well in the story. Frequently, in stories like this, one is sacrificed for each other. It's also hilarious watching a bouncy 18 year old run circles around a 10, 000 year old demon, and then the times when the demon totally sees through that kid's little romance plots but thinks he's so cute he plays along.

I could have easily read another 20-30 chapters about this couple and their friends. Have fun! <<less

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5 stars

I finished this novel in 1.5 days, it was really good!! Definitely recommend reading this story if you enjoy modern fantasy (demons/monsters with a hint of cultivation in modern day). The setting usually serves as a backdrop (but still holds significance) because the main focus is on the MC, Wen Yan and ML, Rong Xiao's relationship.

The story is well-developed and at a good pace. Although there were some conflicts that occur in the relationship, things get solved pretty quickly. I also like the mystery in the novel... more>> and the plot twist about the MC&ML.

I also like the MC. He is very lively and powerful as well. Although he depended on the ML in the beginning, he's eventually able to stand his own ground. It's also sweet how how enthusiastic his feelings are toward the ML (kind of like in novels when they describe the MC as a puppy wagging their tails non-stop towards the person they like). It's cute how openly he pursues the ML & the ML also pampers the MC too but in a more subtle way. Even if there are obstacles in their way, you can tell how much they care for each other.

The supporting characters were also enjoyable to read. Some characters make more appearances than others but overall, they add onto the enjoyment of the novel and I enjoy the scenes that they appear in. <<less

Really very cute and fluffy. Even though I found it a bit slow at parts, the story had little details that made the relationship adorable. The ML doesn't fall for the MC at first sight, which is gratifying. Instead, it's about the MC in a clumsy and cute way cozying up to the ML and trying to attract him.

While MC is still technically 17, ML is implied to have given MC a bl**job and they do also (french) kiss a lot before this moment as well. Additionally, there's a somewhat dubcon scene where MC drugs ML to have s*x with him.

Though these warnings are pretty intense, I honestly didn't feel disgusted reading. When an age gap is over 10k years it kind of loses all meaning for me haha... Do be warned though that the author never actually addresses the moral dubiousness of any situation, so it really is like everything happens without consequence.

Anyways, I do enjoy this author's works for the most part, and this novel was no exception. The romance is slow building, despite the protagonist falling in love at first sight, and if you ignore the frankly ridiculous age gap, it's pretty wholesome overall. The novel is basically all fluff, with a few dull knives. About the age gap:

Even with the backstory, the age gap is still ridiculous so don't hold out for that - MC is at max 42 years old if you add his past and current lives.

Extremely predictable, but pretty cute and decent pastime nonetheless. Thank you to the translator for translating it well so that it retains some charm! Otherwise, with the plot devices and character setup, this would really easily fall flat.

Cute, funny, and full of fluff.

Also the cultivation world is quite heavy here, I think 70% than the modern world.

I kinda dislike a liiiil bit of the latter part of this novel... At this rate I even think that MC should just directly change his name then. Hngg, hard to explain.
