I really tried to like this story, I did.

But seeing the way it's just MC giving in to Shen Mohan's every whim and move as if he wasn't a bastard at first? F*ck it.

Obviously, I know the original owner did some bad things, but this doesn't excuse the fact that Shen Mohan was a little bit*h that decided to "agree" to a marriage with the original Ming Heng just so he could not be pestered as he chased and pampered and pursued Yu Jing all around. And now that the... more>> other suddenly gave him up he suddenly notices he's loved him all the time and can't bear to be apart? F*ck him. Specially because MC just give in and act as if this was super sweet and completely ignore that Shen Mohan didn't give two damns about him in the first place. Idiotic as f*ck.

What's worse, even their f*cking mothers (MC and Shen Mohan's) want them to get back together, because "it's cute!", as if forgetting their favorite little son/friend's son wasn't hurt to hell and back because of that toxic relationship in the first place. Just let this divorce end in peace, and please Mrs. Shen, if you like Ming Heng as much as you say you do, keep your nasty son's paws away from him, he deserves better 🙄

I still gave it two stars, though, because the pacing and writing is fun and light and I'm in love with literally every character apart from Shen Mohan (who I refuse to call the male lead, he doesn't deserve it), and ~c60 onwards MC. Ming Xiao and Xu Chengyan have a very cute and sweet little plot, Yu Jing surprisingly is a cutie (and I really hoped he would turn around and be the actual ML, but author-san decided that he needed a random ass romance instead to "clear the way"), and Yang Shuo is fun and playful (I hope he doesn't get it with his "love interest", the bit*h has no sense of respect at all and even

makes his people beat Yang Shuo into the hospital, like a real f*cking b*tch)

Even Shen Mohan has the potential to be likable in this author's hands, I'll admit, but the fact the bit*h decided to continue pestering Ming Heng after he got a f*ckING DIVORCE BECAUSE HE HATED MC'S AND ORIGINAL MH'S GUTS SO f*ckING MUCH AND WANTED TO PURSUE THE LITTLE WHITE FACE OF YU JING.

f*ck you. No respect.

I won't read this anymore because I know I'll only be angry, and the fact I hoped for face-slapping and dog humiliation but have been severely let down just makes even more angry at this novel that gives none of that.

Edit! Forgot to add, but the weird slut-shaming and v**ginity obsession don't sit well with me as well. Like, sure, Shen Mohan is an as*hole for sleeping with og!Ming Heng when he really just wanted a divorce and hated him, but this doesn't mean Ming Heng has "lost his value" or sh*t because of it? F*ck, like, it's demoralizing, sure, but not a death sentence and literally no impact on his worth or value or whatever at all. Creepy af <<less

Inferior version of 'Your Rival in Love Gets Prettier Every Day'

Same trope: film emperor/talented actor transmigrates into clingy, stalker cannon fodder in one sided love with ML. Except there is no real basis for ML starting to like MC (the interest is sudden and not well fleshed out.) And MC is too easily swayed by ML's good looks and seems to fall into ML's hands way too quickly. There is no anxiety, empathy, or any real consideration for the original host, and MC makes a very clean break from his... more>> 'previous' persona without any consequences. Simply put, characters are shallow.

Overall, I'd say go read 'Your Rival in Love Gets Prettier Every Day' instead. <<less

This story had varian range--too wide for me. The first story is around MC and ML and then in the another chapter change to the ML cousin and childhood MC friend and then change again to the Protagonis shou. Maybe because I read mtl so the story not look good.

Good story for me but yeah its still difficult too. Plot was too fast

This is why you shouldn't just judge a book you haven't read on the reviews alone. Try and read the first few chapters, make up your own mind and then agree with the review that resonates with you.

You can say ML was horrible to divorce MC but Then again, MC at least from what I understood via MTl did some s*upid, extremely s*upid sh*t, so tbh I don't blame ML and I'm glad MC agreed to the divorce. This isn't like "We're all sympathizing with that man" wherein ML was... more>> just involuntarily scum at first.

It's not a bad read so far, abit cliche and really tropey. You can dislike this for that sort of mindless trope vibe, but you might also like it because you like (at least by chapter 46) that type of trope. It's an easy and entertaining "zero to hero" story, with a possessive ML chasing his "wife" and lots of side cp ongoings. 🤷‍♀️ I had to stop mtling since this was picked up and I'll wait for the translation to reread and adjust my thoughts. <<less

So far, the story is okay. I ship our MC more with the protagonist of the novel he transmigrated into (Yu Jing) than with the actual ML.

The secondary characters were also very interesting, such a the ML's brother, the MC's best friend, the MC's brother, etc.

One of my issues was with the pace. At some moments, the pace will speed up or skip events and it'll be really jarring. For example, the MC tries out for a role and gets accepted immediately, which I can accept. However, what strains credulity... more>> is that he is then immediately brought in to do his makeup and wear cultivation clothes in order to take promotional pictures, just after trying out for the role.

That happened too fast. You'd think he'd go back home, and then be called in another day for the promo pics. It feels too rushed to have it happen the same day, and to expect a makeup team and costuming team to be present on the same day as actors are trying to get the role.

There are also sometimes when scenes are missing entirely. Instead, in a later scene there will be a line of narration saying 'oh, he did that, btw'.

Basically, my biggest complaint is that I feel the author should have padded the story a bit more with extra scenes and chapters to make it feel less rushed at certain times.

The whole story has a generally good pace, but there are just specific moments when it feels rushed for no reason. <<less

Reading the synopsis, I thought it's a harem. But from the beginning, the MC only has 1 love interest. The others mentioned on the summary have their own love interests.

The novel is good but not great. Maybe because I just MTLed it, it felt like there were some parts missing in the story. It's quite fast paced and there were a lot of things going on that it didn't get enough story telling.

That's it. I think it needs more chapters. Overall, I liked all the CPs (MC and ML, then... more>> the extras CP) except one CP. I will not tell which one. Just read to have your own judgment. <<less
