Clo Heartfield is a feudal lord of a remote region.

He was born with the primary knowledge of “this world”. Reincarnation, otome game, magic, academy, the future of this world. In other words, according to his memories, this was a world of a game from his previous life. However, he was reincarnated not as the main character, the villainess or the capture target, but rather as the son of a noble, who barely missed the chance to attend the academy with the protagonist due to their slight age difference and didn’t even appear in the main game. Also, he didn’t get any privileges that came with being a reincarnator. In addition, he made an enemy out of a person with high status at the academy and was demoted into being the feudal lord of a remote region.

Just as he had changed his way of looking at his life, considering it as a second chance to live a different life unrealted to the game, his marriage was suddenly decided. And his partner was Violet Valentine, the woman who fulfilled the role of a villainess in this world.

This is the story of two people living a laid-back life while misunderstanding each other, falling in love and occasionally going crazy.

I read mtl up to chapter 227 and everything @evanesco9921 is right. The story is more about character growth. It's slice of life genre. And I also hate that everyone says FL is the bad guy.

everyone kept saying she was a bad person and made the person they loved hurt (the person they love is not the ogfl. Yes she is also a reicarnated person. She choose to replace ogFL because she was afraid she wouldn't help og mls) but they never say what she actually did.

And it's obvious she didn't tried to kill her because if she did the mls would have killed her. Bullying is bad but not to this point. They act like she had tried to kill a person and she deserve to die.

And everytime I read the ogmls POV I woukd be like wtf people? Og mls always say: oh it was marie (i think it was her name) that saved us from darkness and what was their darkness? Nobles. Yes they were tired of there noble activities. And what did they do? They ran away from things they should do AND they were tired of FL because she kept reminding them of things they should do.

They all said they are tired but they never asked our cute FL if she was tired when they KNEW she was. They could see she was sick of acting like that all the time and didn't do anything and went playing outside of palace

But anyway even though I hate how they act towards FL I love the novel There is also annoying one character but if you ignore her you can enjoy the novel.

I love that fact there is always woman around MC but this is not harem and how MC loves fl. They're soooooo cute.

This novel is made for people like me who loves romance novels with male MC. The manga is also out There are 14 chapter. I hope some angle translate it. I will patiently wait for that day. <<less

MTLed until 180 then I skipped to certain chapters with titles I found interesting only. Why? Because this story is very long. It has more than 1000 chapters! I seriously didn't expect that when I started reading this. So, those without much patience may want to skip this story.

As for the story itself, if you're expecting revenge, this one is not it. This one focuses more on the growth of everyone involved in the conflict, realizing their own fault, learning from it, and being more understanding as well as accepting... more>> of people who are different from you. To execute this, the author provides the readers with the POV of almost every character so we can understand the view from every side which is very unique IMO. It also has multiple ships and yeeeshh, sugar all around.

I definitely recommend this for those looking for happy endings and a happy (seemingly) light story in general.

I am truly happy that the villainess finally found happiness with our MC. But so far, I am very discontent with how it seems like she feels like she was totally at fault while her ex-fiance is completely faultless. The same goes for how almost everyone including MC is treating the whole situation as if FL is simply reaping what she sow as if her ex-fiance has done nothing wrong at all. I mean, MC acknowledged FL's fault and the fact that the original author seemed hell-bent on BE for FL but not the original MLs' faults in the whole situation and how they treated her in general. FL has apologized many times but the others (except the original and current heroines) haven't apologized at all. Despite all of the original main characters are now kinda friends with MC and FL, I, personally, still, severely, dislike them all (the ones who haven't apologized).

First of all, I came here to read it due to manga. I was dazzled by the idea of this manga and hoped to see a fun slice of life rom-com. What i've encountered sadly isn't what I was expecting.

First things first the atmosphere, it's silly, too much juvenile comedy that contrasts with some more serious moments but due to over the top amount of comedic elements that are juvenile to boot makes any dramatic event look limp.

Next, comedy is not only silly but quite "progressive". For example: Maniacs influencing... more>> some children to turn gay or fluid to be more precise. Basically MC (19) is the father, his adopted son (11) became sexually fluid due to one encounter and has confused feelings towards MC, In sodomite world it can be regarded comedy, for me it was over the top comedy. I thought it was just too much, I understand that author tries to make it more comedic and he tries to destroy all social barriers but there has to be a line where you should stop.

With what stated above you might already suspect what I'm going to tell next and that is: It's not slice of life rom-com It's COMEDY ADVENTURE FANTASY slice of life... rom..... Yes the romance ellement is almost non-existent, I know it's stated slow romance but I cannot even find words about how slow it is they don't have any progression physically whilst platonically they said everything. Why is that a problem? Because author over uses the classical "virg*n" energy troupe, they get too flustered, dense, denie and etc. there is also a problem of inconsistency due to that. For example in first chapters she was reading to lay with MC and remembering the dialogue they kinda had a normal one, no flusteredness or embracement but after that not only 0 progression but also immense shyness with un-healthy amount of romance blockers (sudden guests, sudden 3rd wheels and etc.).

Next the inconsistency part. As mentioned above author has a problem with it. It felt as if first chapter direction shifted completely towards new direction and due to that he changed their personalities a bit and their reactions. From more mature approach it became more like shounen/shoujo with classical lunacy that small children might find funny. There are things that author sweeps under the rug, for example at one point FMC decides to be proactive towards MC but somehow she forgets that endeavor.... and the story continues in unknown direction.

The problem stems from authors decisions to create the atmosphere of family. In essence they already verbally professed their interests, MC made romantic gestures but there were basically 0, face to face dialogues with FMC after those events. Romance stopped, they still didn't kiss up to chapter 125 and it has been 4 months of them living together. Even author notes through side characters that this is weird. Any progression is met with 3rd wheels and sudden guests who stop any progress. Neither MC nor FMC tries to advance much. One time MC had decided to kiss he was denied and partially because he has chosen the wrong place and time. Author teases and exploits pre dating atmosphere which annoys many people when overused. So I question author, why would you make the married? To reel the viewers due to shock moment and then continue the classical PRE DATING COM-ROM? If I see cheap tricks I start to dislike the author and his work.

Lastly, author's style. There 2 things and one of them is a bit subjective.

  1. Author changes the character who narrates, basically quite often we see other characters who narrate. For example it goes in that order: MC, FMC and GRAY (they +/- the same) and other side characters. The problems stems from feeling that we are "forced" to read about characters that we don't have much interest in. For example Gray, his narrative and interactions are completely different and are mostly with other side character (Appricot) and kids. So you should expect 8th grader syndrome comedy all the time and his native thoughts about situations, while not so bad it becomes tiresome when amount of his screen time that HIGH. I find Gray the most uninteresting character, his naivety and intelligence takes deep dives for 11y old, he sometimes turn 6y old (it feels like that). Author has some troubling views on how 11y olds interact or understand the world. It's interesting to have one chapter that gives us his world view it's annoying when you have 2-3 chapters quite often. For example MC chapter 5, FMC 2-3, Gray 2-3, Side 1-2 and repeat. Sometimes MC has less chapters.
  2. Too much thoughts. Imagine that AFTER EVERY FREAKING STATEMENT NARRATOR HAS THOUGHTS OVERSHADOWING HIS DIALOGUE SENTENCE. As an example:
-Hello Violet, looking good today

As I saw Violet approaching me, I could not notice how charming she was. She helps me a lot with lords work but I wish for more pleasant moments with her.

- Hello Lord Clo.

As she said hello to me I felt little warm and fuzzy feeling growing inside of me. Her charming smile and amber eyes reflect her inner beauty.

- Have you finished the patrol for today?

If I remember correctly, she was on patrol duty with Robot this morning. There were some reports in surroundings about increased monster activity. I find it strange, I don't remember any events in otome game about this. We should be more warry.

And that's the gist, it's like driving in suburbs with never ending speed humps on the road. Currently there 1600 chapters but I imagine with good editorial work this work can get it reduced to 400-600 chapters. TOO MUCH USELESS INFORMATION. Dialogue flow keeps being interrupted with inner thoughts of Narrator and narration IS 5 times bigger than the sentence that was stated. <<less

It's okay, the novel throws you right into a story that already started, so you have no attachment to any of the characters nor what's going on in the novel.

The author tries to make this a comedy type novel with minimal plot, together with possible romantic comedy. However, all the comedy seems to either be lost in translation or just is not funny like how it was translated.

I tried reading 5 chaps but I still have no attachment as the story just got thrown in a already started story, with... more>> literal zero background and information on why the current FL & MC married for example. Each chapter is just a poor written comedy skit of one scene.

One could argue I didn't read enough as I had to get far enough to reach where they got multiple povs, but the novel isn't slow paced writing. That is not how the author is writing. It is just poorly structured. And it shouldn't take that much investment into a non slow paced story. Plus these type of early investment committments are only good when there's some sort of mystery and it is written good with background snippets/development. But the story is like dropping into a random show halfway into the season, without it even being the first season. <<less

I have to agree with most of the reviews that are current here. This novel's romance is really slow. But, the great thing is, in a way, it is very pure.

I'm talking about the romance not being contrived. These two individuals were basically 'made' to marry. Made in the sense that the situation forces it upon them but they were and are completely accepting of it. They try to love each other and wish to develop that kind of relationship, to better themselves.

As for the two individuals, I'm mainly taking... more>> about the ML and FL. The other romances are budding so far... we need to wait for more.

I'm actually more interested to find out about this world. It seems like there are more and more people who knows this is an otome game, and they will be slowly introduce. The first one is the someone called 'Mary'. She is literally Mary Sue.

For now, this is quite an early review. There are more than 1K chapters so I do not wish to judge too quickly. right now, I'm giving it a 5 stars because I really just enjoy it. <<less
